We sat out on the front patio. I recommend you try sit there if you can. Our server was super friendly and made us feel like the only patrons there, taking the time to walk us through the menu and help us consider pros and cons of menu items. The food selection was eclectic, with twists on common fare. We ordered the Kale & Brussels, Prosciutto Toast, Scallops, and Octopus all of which had amazing presentation and great taste. Prices were high but it was easily justified by the high quality food and service. If you're in Bar Harbor and want to take a break from chomping on lobster rolls at touristy spots and want an upscale dinner that doesn't disappoint, make Project Social a priority.

All so full of flavor and beautiful to look at. And to top it all off, they were even kind enough to send me my hiking shoes when I left them behind after a swoon-worthy meal. Above and beyond customer service. We can't wait to go back to Project Social on our next trip to Bar Harbor.

We showed up on a Saturday at 5 o'clock end of August and got right in at Annex which is the same menu and attached. Waiters were helpful and kind, amazing people! Live music was going on at 7 but we left right before, awesome vibes doors to the outside open so it was basically an open air concept since it was a beautiful day. Clam chowder: super delicious and passed the spoon test! (I like my chowders thick so a spoon should float on top) Bangin Shrimp: seasoning and sauce were bangin! Great stuff and the buttery grilled flamed pita added a beautiful touch Cadillac fries: crispy fries with melty cheese, hot sauce, bbq sauce, chipotle mayo and toooed with bacon. We inhaled these. Mac + rac: fall off the bone rips and the Mac was killer. Mixed in with street corn added a great change up and all went so well together. Larger shells cooked perfectly and super cheesy, this was a great dish. Highly recommend, wish I could have tried the Blueberry Pie because that looks insane, was way too full after crushing the other dishes and washed down with a blueberry beer and an extra dirty martini!

However, we weren't too tired to eat it, so we had the food delivered from Side Street Cafe. So glad we did it that way cuz it was terrific... and easy to arrange ! My hubby ordered their Cubano sandwich while I ordered a cheeseburger. He loved his Cubano, which came with a side of mac 'n cheese. The mac 'n cheese was light in flavor, I think because of the kind of cheese used. I prefer more flavor, but it wasn't bad either. My( burger was quite large, and it was really tasty... very nicely seasoned beef patty, and it had all the things I like... cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle.... and catsup. I was very happy. It came with fries, but I had my fill of fries with all the lobster rolls I had ordered along the way, so I didn't eat them. Plus, there was a slice of blueberry pie calling out to me, so I wanted to blow my calories with the pie... and so glad I did cuz it was another spectacular piece of blueberry pie. Against my will, I split it with my hubby. Lol. It was a great way to end our meal. (Turns out we never got dinner that night cuz we were so full from such a nice lunch.) Side Street Cafe is definitely going on my radar if we're ever fortunate enough to return to Bar Harbor.

The dining room was like something out of a classic summer blockbuster resort movie, beautiful panoramic views of the Harbor, a grand piano player, classic upholstered chairs. We had 5:45 pm reservations for dinner Friday night and were shown a lovely table by the windows. Our server, Drew, was enthusiastic, attentive, and friendly. We ordered the maple old fashioned, gin spritz, blueberry lemonade, and Cadillac sunset. Cocktails were delicious. My son ordered two blueberry lemonade and exclaimed that these were the best he's had all week. He gets it wherever we go. For appetizers, we tried a watermelon burrata salad and beef carpaccio. The carpaccio was delicious, especially if you like dijon mustard. For dinners, kids ordered off the kids menu, chicken tenders, and lobster trap pasta. Both were healthy servings, served with the most deliciously addicting truffle fries, and they came with chocolate chip cookies. It was refreshing to see a reasonably priced kids menu at a fine dining establishment. Our dinners were a crab cake linguine special, and the Chilean sea bass. Both were perfectly cooked. The sea bass was light and the risotto that came with it al dente and not overly cheesy or overwhelming of the fish. The crab cake special was the star, made with locally fresh caught Jonah crab, so flavorful, and I could eat that linguine all day. The wine selection was decent. We got a half bottle of sancerre that complemented both seafood dinners well. We shared a blueberry pie and port wine for dessert. Pacing was wonderful for us, though I read others had trouble with this. We had appetizers and entrees within 30 minutes of sitting down. Drew took great care of us. The other waitstaff were also friendly. This was our favorite place to eat all week. Our kids said we should have eaten here more. Oh well, we saved the best for last. Thank you Reading Room!

The service is very friendly. I wanted the Strawberry Fields cocktail, but they didn't have so I settled on The Fuzzy. It is very alcohol forward, which most people will enjoy. Not for me personally, as I would have liked more flavor from the infusions, but that's definitely a personal preference. The Blackened Fish Sandwich with a Small Caesar Salad had very flakey fish. I loved the meld of flavors, and ended up devouring my sandwich! The bun held together well. The caesar salad was a decent size and well dressed. Definitely a cool spot to hit for good food and a great pub vibe!

We sat outside and I had what the waitress called a "local Magners cider" and a blackened fish sandwich, which was a nicely blackened cod with tartar sauce and some chips.
