I recently became aware of this vendor when I noticed that they used to operate an outlet near me on a part-time basis. The Pastrami Stand now rotates across different farmers markets and breweries in the local area. On Sundays, they have a canopy set up at the La Jolla Open Aire Farmer's Market. The menu featured two pastrami sandwiches, five types of hot dogs, two styles of pastrami sold by the pound, and matzo ball soup when in season between December and April. There was also a special of the day that was a Chicago style hot dog. The Pastrami Dip was made up of smoked pastrami, yellow mustard, and pickles on a roll that was single dipped in au jus. The Number 18 consisted of classic NY style pastrami piled high on rye bread and topped with deli mustard. Of these two sandwiches, I picked the former. The bread and meat quality were both very good, however the portion size of six inches(?) did not justify a $15 price tag hence a four star rating.

Just had a pastrami dip sandwich here at the Epiq location right on the bay at shelter Island and it was amazing! One of the best pastrami sandwiches I've had in a while, although I haven't had a pastrami sandwich in a while! But the Bunn was soft. The pastrami was delicious and not greasy. Love all the pickles and the mustard. Such a treat to stumble across this place today after a wonderful ride on the Triton catamaran!

Got a number 18 pastrami sandwich from the pastrami stand at the Leucadia farmers market. Overall it was a greatly good sandwich. Fresh bread and the pastrami had great flavor. If you are a person looking for lean pastrami then this is not the place for you

The Pastrami stand is located at the La Jolla Open Aire Farmer's Market (which is set up on Sundays between 9AM to 1PM). We ordered the Breakfast Pastrami Sandwich ($12.65) which comes with scrambled eggs, classic NY pastrami, and cream cheese, all on a soft everything bagel. It was a very tasty breakfast, but my oh my was the cost overpriced for what you get. However, pastrami in general is a more expensive.

Great sandwiches! Definitely recommend. Only challenge was finding nearby parking. Totally worth the drive around the block!

They also have smoothies, their "world famous cookies", candies, chips, etc. It's one of the oldest sandwich shops around. Quality ingredients with friendly staff. I used to come here a lot more in my 20s... I'm 35 now. It's always been consistent. I've never had a bad experience. There is seating outside you can eat your food at. Inside the shop, it has an old beachy sandwich shop vibe which I hope never changes. Great memories coming here. Will continue to come. Expect to spend around an average of $20 here.

This shop on Avenida De La Playa, which is the Main Street closed off from cars, so people can walk freely, but parking is a challenge. The cheese shop can't be missed, with the green ivy covered store front. It's standing round only, no seating inside but limited outside seating. You order from the counter and they bring your order to you if you decide to sit outside. I selected the popular sandwich: Turkey, Jack Cheese and Avocado on sourdough bread with every veggie: lettuce, tomato, red onion was all it had. Just baked from the oven were the famous oatmeal cookies in caramel and chocolate, looked so yummy I didn't order any but the guy behind the counter complementary gifted a pair to me, so nice, friendly and cool!! Inside the shop didn't appear clean, I would describe the ambiance as divey. Sat outside and shortly my order was presented nicely wrapped sandwich and warm cookies. Took pics and took a bite and my consensus is that I was not a fan of this sandwich because I really prefer smoked turkey and not plain turkey. The sandwich looked subpar, the layering of ingredients weren't assembled as aesthetically layered as it can be and tasted just ok. My pup usually doesn't like smoked turkey or unfresh meats but she liked this plain roast turkey, which means it's more likely fresh and pass her approval. She also ate the contents of the sandwich sans the bread and onions of course. The oatmeal cookies were a real treat and lived up to the hype, kind of gooey, yummy and good for you...hence oats is fiber! As a cheese aficionado, this shop is not really a cheese shop with no abundant cheese selections. The shop should just be named sandwich shop, since sandwiches and candies seem to be their cash cows. If you're looking for a cheese shop, this isn't the place, but it might the place for a sandwich. Recommend

We picked PERUVIAN STEAK SANDWICH, a seared steak tossed in Spicy aji amarillo sauce, then their CHIMICHURRI STEAK BACON; it's a seared steak and applewood-smoked bacon, and also got their SMOKEY BBQ BRIOCHE SANDWICH , this one is a smoke Pork burnt ends with BBQ sauce. Every sandwich we had tasted good, but i like the most the Chimichurri Steak & Bacon, it's more to my palate, not too sweet or not too spicy. Service was quick our sandwiches were done quickly, plenty of staff go around checking the tables and greeting the customers. Parking is easy, with lots of spaces.

I think I was sitting in the store for at least 30 minutes while a family member waited in our car and watched several people park, get their orders and leave. Two people who ordered after us received their food before we did. I finally stood up and only then did an associate crabbily pack up our order and give it to us. When we first arrived, no one even showed up at the counter for at least five minutes. There was another customer waiting behind us as well. My sandwich (Happy Hippie) was not very good...insubstantial and put together in a blah manner. A family member who had the "not so fried chicken sandwich" said it was too salty. I paid $62 for this order (with a tip, which I had added before the long wait...) It obviously wasn't a good value, This is a beautiful and clean store but a general lack of enthusiasm from the associates, inconsistent customer service, high prices, and mediocre quality food will dissuade me from making any future visits to this location.

And it's delicious!!! Allie was our host and was able to find a great place to eat. All the tables are great with even an outside covered patio available. Jade our waitress was very friendly and nice. She was very patient and professional and listened to us in a kind way. With young ones with us, it is challenging. However, Jade ensured that we enjoyed our meal at the Shorehouse Kitchen. At brunch, my go to dish is the French toast that will tell me the quality and care from the kitchen. I was blown away at how delicious the French Toast was. The name is the "CARAMELIZED TAHITIAN VANILLA BEAN FRENCH TOAST with Fresh Blueberries or Bananas and Chantilly Cream, or a Grilled Pineapple". Jade gave away the secret ingredient to me and I was impressed. An applied Maillard reaction with brown sugar brought the French Toast a new level of yumminess. The Chantilly Cream took it over the top, not to sweet and very creamy. Yum!!! Also tried the "RASPBERRY TRUFFLE MOCHA St. George Vanilla Bean Vodka. Raspberry Liqueur, Callebaut Belgian Chocolate, Espresso, Steamed Milk, Chantilly Cream" . AMAZING!!! The Shorehouse Kitchen is a gem with fantastic food and service. Definitely a return visit call for the family!!!
