This place tastes so good! But mind you, it has some goodness, some greasy goodness! So share the sandwich with the side chick you took out while your wife is at home jk. It's very unique tasting, hot and fresh tasting with a little weight to it! Located next to a lot of popular clubs it offers great post drinking food options, and yes I will be back here again...but with the wife next time...

They came to UC Davis Medical Center for the Friday food truck event. The line was quite long which was very telling of the quality of food. Though the line was long, it moved. I waited in line for no more than 20 minutes. The guy taking orders was very patient and friendly. He clarified the order and made sure to get my name right. I really appreciated that. I ordered the regular Philly cheesesteak with provolone and peppers and onions. I also ordered garlic fries. After placing my order it took about 10 minutes for them to call my name! Again, not bad given the line they had. The food was great! The garlic fries were my favorite. They had a nice buttery taste with a nice touch of garlic. The mix they had was impeccable. The garlic on the fries was not overpowering but it was just right. The Philly cheesesteak was also very good. It was well seasoned and full of flavor. It was great! The entire meal was about $15. I'm not at all disappointed in my choice. Can't wait to see them again. Great food!

Walking up k street around 8pm and everything was either closed or packed. Luckily I stumbled upon this place. The food, service (from both the lady behind the counter and the cook) and establishment were about as top notch as you can get for this type of place. The plan was to take it to go. After eating one bite I stayed until it was finished.

New address at 915 K Street. They also have their food truck.

Great sandwiches and sides. New location brick and mortar at 915 K Street. Friendly staff. They have vegetarian options as well.

This small local cheesesteak restaurant quickly became one of my go-to's and is now part of my…read moreregular food rotation. First off, the cheesesteaks are delicious. So far I've tried the supreme cheesesteak and the hot cheesesteak; both are really good and highly recommended. You can't go wrong with the top three, which I believe are the original, the hot, and the supreme. I think the highlight of these cheesesteaks is definitely the bread. It's soft but not too moist, providing the perfect texture. It's not hard at all, like a Banh Mi Vietnamese sandwich, but there is still a nice crust and crunch to the bread with a perfect taste. The pictures don't do it justice from the surface, but as you bite into it, they mix the melted cheese of your choice very well with the steak for a nice burst of flavor. Pair it with their amazing original French fries that remind me of some really good fast food fries, like from McDonald's or other local fry spots. The service is what you expect from a local small restaurant. They're nice, chill, and very simple. You order, and they call you when your order is done. They treat you well, especially if you ask for extra condiments such as mayo and ketchup, though ranch does cost extra. They serve it on a nice little metal tin platter with parchment paper, which makes it feel and taste great, especially when you eat it fresh inside the restaurant. To my surprise, the first few times we ordered from here, we got it to go, and it was still good by the time we brought it home. Regarding the size, I would say normally you can't go wrong with the standard size, which is the regular or the small. It is filling already. If you're extra hungry or just really feeling a cheesesteak, the large will definitely do you justice and make you feel satisfied. In my photos, I've attached pictures of the supreme and the hot cheesesteak. You can't go wrong with either, but my choice is definitely the hot. I've also tried their other items, such as the standard hot dog, which comes with the same bread. Based on other photos people have posted, it looks delicious as well. It is like a standard hot dog, but I'm telling you, the bread is something very unique about this restaurant. I think that's what makes you want to come back. The bread, plus the way they cook the cheesesteaks and everything put together, makes this place stand out. The vibe inside is very chill, serving more as a quick-eat area. It is a nice place to just get lunch or a quick dinner. It's pretty small, maybe fitting only 30 or so people, and they're located right next to the movie theater. I feel like this shop is a small hole-in-the-wall, and I highly recommend it. I don't think you would regret it.

The portion of…read moremeat was good for the size of the sandwich, but the "large" felt smaller than expected, especially since they only offer two size options. The meat itself was juicy and not dried out, which was a plus, but the cheese was pretty minimal--probably just about two slices total. I honestly wish they'd double or even triple the cheese to balance it out better. We also got a kids' chicken tender meal with fries and a drink, which was pretty standard and as expected.

The cheesesteak was packed with tender beef, grilled onions, mushrooms, crispy bacon (add on), and a ridiculous amount of melted cheese. The bread held everything together perfectly without getting soggy which matters more than people think with cheesesteaks. The cheese fries were also amazing. Crispy fries with plenty of cheese instead of just a light drizzle on top. Portions were solid and everything came out fresh and hot. Seems like it's a family ran restaurant and the service was top notch. Super friendly people here. I also loved the old sports memorabilia so the vibes were perfect for a spot like this. Honestly, it's really good comfort food done right. I'll definitely be coming back when I'm in Sacramento again!

We have driven by this place 1000 times and never stopped in. I called in our order and he went to pick it up. We each got "the works" cheesesteak which came with sautéed mushrooms, onions, plenty of meat and our choice of cheese. We both decided to do provolone cheese. The sandwiches were large and quite filling with thinly sliced meat that was not chewy but melted in your mouth. I did an order of waffle fries with my sandwich while my husband ordered classic french fries. The fries were crispy and golden perfection. So the next time you have a craving for a Philly cheesesteak, come check this place out.

TL;DR: Appalling customer service from this food truck at Carmichael Concert in the Park. Based on…read morethe positive reviews, maybe it was an off night--but the owner's behavior toward customers was completely unacceptable. I waited in a long line to order (no issue there) and was quoted a 20-minute wait. There was no buzzer system, so we had to keep checking back. Since we had our kids with us, my husband and I took turns monitoring the order. Around the 30-minute mark, the person who had been behind me in line received their food. I checked on our order to make sure we hadn't missed it while switching off, and was met with a rude, condescending response--being pointed toward a row of order tickets with no real help. At the 50-minute mark, I asked someone who had just gotten their food how long they waited--they said about 25 minutes. At that point, I checked again, worried our order had been missed. The owner responded in a combative and dismissive way. When I pointed out the discrepancy in wait times, he insisted the other customer must have ordered first--even after I clarified that wasn't the case. It was incredibly frustrating and dismissive. We ended up waiting over an hour. The food itself was fine (though a bit heavy on onions and peppers compared to the meat), but the real issue was how customers were treated. At one point, while my husband was waiting, the owner was arguing with another customer to the extent that security had to step in. Overall, extremely disappointing experience due to poor and disrespectful customer service.

However, if you like or love cheesesteak sandwiches, I suggest you give this little spot a try. We popped in for dinner to bring home. The two employees (potential owners) working there were super kind and friendly. When I asked if a sandwich could be made without onions, due to allergies, it was no problem. We got home and the food had tempered a bit, so we popped things quickly into the microwave and things were still yummy. Next time, I would eat there. Yes, there is not a lot going on ambiance wise, but their food is freshly prepared, fries are crispy, bread is soft, and meat is delish. Bring your appetite and Philly cheesesteak on!
