Some good and bad about this place. They have complimentary valet which is helpful because the street it's on seemed very busy when we got there on a Saturday morning. Look for the red umbrella. We didn't see it and parked and found this out after the fact. It took a really long time to order our food. We ended up getting the appetizer after we were done with our food. The server said he was new so we didn't make any complaints as he was very nice and could tell her was learning still. We got- steak and eggs, crab dip, and a kids burger with fries and a brown butter cake. The highlight of everything was the steak. It was cooked perfectly and had amazing flavor. The brown butter cake was also delicious. Extremely sweet, but good enough to share amongst three of us. Our eggs and potatoes were actually cold, the bread served with the crab dip was stale and extremely hard (crab dip was just ok). The kids burger was fine (just a standard kids meal) Bathrooms were clean and I liked the ambiance with the booths giving you that privacy. It's definitely family friendly- had a changing table in the restroom and they were clean. Overall, it was good but not the best.
Went to The Pinery for a Saturday night date with my husband. Food was good and the service was the same. Nothing outstanding but happy for a night out! It was very busy and there seemed to be quite a few regular diners there from overhearing conversations. We had the Crab Dip - it was fine. For $18 you would expect more crab and less bread crumbs. It had very little crab and enough dip in the shallow dish to fill 4 of the crostinis it came with. It was good to split as 2 people to try, but I wouldn't get it again. We ordered French fries as an appetizer too. They came out cold. Drink was okay, nothing outstanding. We appreciated that they had local beers on the menu. Our server, Joey, was very good. Pork chop entree was good. Truffle risotto didn't taste like truffles at all except for the shaving of pure truffle on top (nice touch, just wish the risotto actually tasted like truffles too). Not the best risotto we've ever had but not the worst. The grilled chicken on top of the risotto had a nice char-grill and the plating was attractive! We were a bit surprised that there were not place mats on the outside tables, where we sat, but it was a nice option to sit outside.
We ate here last week and it was really good! We were a party of 8 and everyone enjoyed the food. Here's what we got: Crab Dip 4.5 Alligator Tacos 4 Brussels Sprout Salad 4.5 Delicious, but would make a better side dish as eating a whole meal of this, the flavors get to be too much. Grouper Sandwich 4.5 French Dip 4.5 Pork Chop 4.5 Chicken Pot Pie 4 Hummingbird Cake 4.5 Just a tad bit dry. If it had been moister, it would have been a 5! Brown Butter Cake 4 The ambiance is great and not too loud. I'd definitely return.
WOW! What an amazing 5-star experience! Two other Yelpers and I made a Bite 30 reservations and we all walked away extolling the extraordinary dinner adventure we had. We were seated in a corner booth next to the bar. The atmosphere of this place is warm and inviting. The bar itself is also something to see. Very cool! Our server was Joey D. and he himself provided 5-star expertise, which enhanced the evening. He made great recommendations as well as giving us enough space to enjoy the meal and our conversations afterwards. Now for the food. Since there were three of us, we tried the entire Bite 30 menu and shared each plate. Course 1 consisted of Coconut Shrimp, Zucchini Fries and Ivanhoe Short Rib Tacos. Each item was amazing and was more than sufficient for the three of us. The Short Rib Tacos were stuffed with delicious tasting short rib. We were at 5-stars right off the bat. Next, came Course 2, which consisted of a Pork Chop, Casa Verde Mofongo and Chicken Fried Steak. The pork chop had a succulent brown sugar glaze and came with sautéed green beans and Yukon Gold mashed potatoes. The pork chop was juicy and delicious. The Casa Verde Mofongo is a Puerto Rican dish (which I just learned about this evening), consisting of sautéed bell peppers, red onions, sweet corn, and mashed plantains in a spicy remoulade. One of my friends is Puerto Rican and gave this dish high marks as did I. Finally, the chicken fried steak was perfectly cooked and came with Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, broccoli and sawmill gravy. We enjoyed these three dishes immensely. Course 3 consisted of the following desserts: Key Lime pie, Midnight Chocolate Ganache and Banana Bread Pudding. The Key lime pie was excellent as was the banana bread pudding. We thought the midnight chocolate ganache was a little too sweet for us, as it was truly a decadent dessert. However, you will not get any complaints from us about this restaurant. What we also liked was that the portions were the normal dinner size not a reduced size for the Bite 30 event. As stated previously, we all had plenty of good food to enjoy. The overall meal and experience was truly five stars and this restaurant is highly recommended by all three of us. We all can't wait to go back again and try more selections from the entire menu.
Went to The Pinery during the Bite 30 promotion and to use our Chase Reserve dining credit. We started with drinks and the crab dip. The dip was very tasty, would order again. My partner ordered from the Bite 30 menu, short rib tacos for the starter. These were a very large portion and were excellent! He got the chicken fried steak and key lime pie. I ordered from the regular menu, nice salmon with risotto. The fish was very good, better than the chicken fried steak I think. Restaurant was very busy but service was good, not overly attentive and invasive but good. We always enjoy our meals here, and will return.
Due to a schedule conflict, we canceled our reservation at a steakhouse in Winter Park and celebrated Mothers Day on Saturday, a day early. We found The Pinery and wanted to give it a trial. The only spot open was at 4:30 pm, so we made the reservation and showed up, valet parking and came in. We were sat immediately. The hostess seemed stressful, without any smiles, she took away 2 out 4 silverware and plate sets on our table for a party of 3. 12 minutes went by. The crowded dining room had 2 servers. A booth of 6 next to us were waiting for their drinks patiently. I finally got up and let the hostess know that nobody stopped by. She said someone would be with us soon. About 4.minutes later, a lady stopped, said sorry, and took our drink orders, a Pineapple Sugar, a Macha Mojito, and a glass of Napa Valley Chardonnay. She also brought us 3 glasses of water. More servers started coming. Finally, Mark introduced himself, took our food orders. The food was delicious. We shared the Steamed Clams and Brie and Petal Honey. They were so good that we had to ask Mark fir extra crispy bread slides. For entrees, my wife had the Brussel Salad with Anchovy, and she loved it. My son had the Pork Chop while I tried the Crab Stuffed Salson. Excellent food and temperature. We were quite full for desserts, but Mark insisted, so we decided to order a Humingbird Cake and was informed that ithere was no more. Then we took the today's special, which was a strawberry pudding. It took 15 minutes to get the dessert with 3 spoons because, according yo Mark, they made a new patch. In my own opinion, this operation was not well prepared for a such busy Saturday on one of the busiest events. We saw the manager being the server assistant delivering food for his servers, while he was super friendly, and we and the servers appreciated him, he should have led his crew. For lack of leadership, I took away one star though Nark saved our dining experience. We plan to be back another time not during the chaotic holidays to see the real beauty of The Pinery.
The Pinery has redeemed themselves for me. We started with the bread service. The pimento cheese and cinnamon honey butter were excellent on the breads. The fry bread was overcooked, but they gave us some more cornbread. My husband ordered the key lime martini that could have been a dessert. I stuck with pinot grigio and my husband had some Old Fashions. My shrimp and grits was excellent. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and the sauce was so good. My husband loved his steak and potatoes, but the asparagus was undercooked. We were so full from the bread and drinks it didn't matter.
Was looking for a restaurant that has a great view/sunset and when I found The Pinery, I knew I had to try it! There is a dock across the street where you can see downtown in the distance and also sunset. The restaurant itself has outdoor and indoor seating. On a Tuesday evening it was actually decently busy. We were seated inside and the service was quick. We ordered the bread service as an appetizer I think the buttermilk biscuit and cinnamon honey butter is makes it - unfortunately the southern fry bread and jalapeño bread were dry and not as good. I ordered the smash burger as an entree and it was okay, nothing to write home about. While I didn't order a dessert, they seemed to have some great options. I think I would come back and try some new things on the menu next time!
It's a chill neighborhood spot with a relaxed atmosphere, and the live music during happy hour is a nice bonus. The drinks were decent, but the food was just okay and didn't really stand out. Sat at the bar and the service was good. Overall, I'd give this place 3 stars. It's a good place to grab a drink and hang out, but I probably wouldn't come here specifically for the food.
We wanted to celebrate my autistic brother getting his first job in Orlando and found this spot through my Chase credit card rewards. The location had complimentary valet as the street parking can be a little challenging in this area so that was a huge plus. We enjoyed their half price wine glasses during golden hour, such a great offering. From the start of our meal to the end, the food was exceptional. What made it even more of an experience was the awesome waiter (Merlin) we had. He went above and beyond to take care of us. Started with the crab dip and little toasts and it was great, high quality crab (not fishy) and cheesy! Would highly recommend. He recommended the special for the day which I ordered and holy crap, it was amazing. Huge grouper cooked to perfection with a light curry and creamy corn sauce that had just the right heat. All of this over some jasmine rice... we were in heaven. Parents got a fried grouper sandwich that was huge, and had their amazing wedge salads. My brother got the pork chop that had a perfectly sweet exterior, mashed potato's and carrots. We ordered the hummingbird cake and it had so much flavor with the cream cheese frosting and toasted pecans. Our waiter surprised my brother with their butter cake that was cooked to melt in your mouth. If you want to explore Ivanhoe Village area and want an incredible meal or snack, head to this place. We can't wait to go back and try some other items.
This is a great date night spot! The interior ambiance is dark and romantic, and the booths are cozy and private. It is a little loud indoors. They do have outside seating as well that boasts a lovely view of the lake across the street. All waitstaff we encountered were super friendly! The food was excellent. The short rib totally melted in our mouths. The specialty cocktail list is short but they have a full bar so you can order anything. I'm excited to go back and try a different item on the menu!
It was a pleasure to take our first child here for her birthday (12th)! It is family friendly, and the layout and open setting is great for meeting new people and chatting with them! I highly recommend coming whether its for Business, a Date, or a Family Celebration!
The Pinery was an unexpected delight, ranging from the quality of their dishes to the friendliness of their staff... although my wife did find our server's cell phone in the ladies room right after we arrived, so we started off on a winning note. The non alcoholic pineapple sugar was sweet and refreshing, and would have went well with rum or vodka. The alligator tacos were tasty, albeit somewhat dry, and the bread service was a filling appetizer. There were two dishes that were absolute knockouts, the first being the Brussel Caesar Salad. Perfectly cooked, perfectly tasty with homemade croutons and pork lardons, topped with a Parmesan medallion. The second knockout was the grass fed filet, which my wife was quoted as saying, was the best filet of her life. I didn't know what a mofongo was, so I went with the Birria Mofongo. Still don't really know what it is, but it sure was scrump. Bonus: the manager stopped by our table to chat and dropped a hot little hint. Those with a Chase Sapphire Reserve can get $150 off their meal twice a year, 6 months apart

I have to start this review off by saying our waiter Cameron was simply amazing! I eat out a lot and experience is huge for me and I will say Cameron went above and beyond with the service. From his recommendations on the menu to his attentiveness it was all 10/10. The food....the food was wonderful! We ended up ordering off the magical dining menu and we got the shishito peppers (4/5), the zucchini fries (4.5/5), the bison gnocchi (5/5) and the salmon (5/5). Everything we ordered was delicious and fresh. Side note they are a scratch kitchen so everything is made in-house. The ambiance of this place was also amazing! They are a new restaurant I believe they've only been open for 2 years so everything feels new. A great place for date night or celebrating something special. They also have free valet which was great because the parking on that side of town is not great. I will definitely be back! read more

Dinner at The Pinery on Lake Ivanhoe... run don't walk to this place!!! The food/chef are extraordinary! Mad props to Chef Naomi Freeman! Everything was absolutely incredible... and we are going again tonight!!! We had mock tails... the bread board service... the smoked chicken wings and the most amazing dessert... dark chocolate pot de crème! The Pinery is located on beautiful Lake Ivanhoe in the heart of Orlando. I found this place during Magical Dining and I am glad! The decor is really nice and sleek. The bar was about to seat around 10 people. Around the dining room there were booths that had the ability to have some drapes pulled over for privacy. The food tasted great! I had a Caesar salad, beef empanadas( a special which were great), the bison gnocchi which had a nice tasting cream sauce with it and beignets. I also tried a drink off the drink menu which was good as well. It was a little too hot to sit outside but I would like to try that next time for the view of the lake. read more

This restaurant is beautiful and they offer complimentary valet parking. The food was really good and offered a unique variety of "southern comfort" food. The blue crab dip was excellent! Service could have been better...we skipped on dessert and after dinner drinks because of the time it took our waitress to get back to us. It other than that, I'd recommend giving this spot a try! read more

My sisters and my newborn met here on 07.22.2023. Yes, it's taken me too long to write this, BUT I am a new mom! Life is lifeing! (2) sisters reside in Orlando, I'm in Tampa and the other is in Gainesville. So this was a gamble to try a new restaurant and make this drive!!! Upon arriving, we were greeted by the nicest valet attendants ever & a breathtaking view! Her restaurant is positioned in a perfect spot to take in such a gorgeous lake view They seated us at a Round booth where we able to enjoy conversation, food and people watching the entire evening! FOOD 5/5 SERVICE 5/5 AMBIANCE 5/5 Each item we ordered was delightful! As the restaurant started filling up, we noticed the staff maintained their composure and kept it smooth all evening! We noticed the line getting long, so we wrapped up our meal to let him flip the table! If you have the pleasure of meeting Carol, the owner, her smile will draw you in and make you feel like you're home with family! We cannot wait to come and dine again! I recently came here before a game, it was my first time. I love the location which is right next to beautiful Lake Ivanhoe. I like that there is inside and outside seating, I requested to sit indoors due to them wanting to seat me outside at a table with no umbrella so the sun would hit be hitting us directly, no thanks. The decor/ambiance inside was nice but a little warm in temperature. I found it stuffy. I honestly wish I could give this rating 3.5 because I'm conflicted on certain things. They had a few good menu options, I was disappointed that the person who I was with ordered something, and they came back later and then told us they ran out of the dish. The Pinery states that they are an "upscale dining experience" so if that is so, your servers should know what's available or not before attending tables. I found it weird that a lot of the menu items contained pineapple of some sort, but then it clicked "the Pinery!" I read that they're celebrating the forgotten history of the once former top export crop which was cool if you like to eat cooked pineapples in your meals. If not, this isn't your spot. I wasn't a fan of this seasons menu options and opted for steak tacos. I found that they were tasty but dry, they definitely need a sauce or aioli on them. My guest said her food was good but nothing special. I will say that the Pinery Platter we ordered was very good, but we felt it needed more of a cheese selection. I also ordered the fries, Mac and cheese and butter brussel sprouts. The fries were good, the Mac and cheese was ok...they were rich and creamy which I love not lacked flavor. The brussel sprouts was definitely the best thing we both ate on the menu, they were perfectly delicious so make sure you order it as a side. Our cocktails were very good. I'd probably give this place another shot when the seasonal menu changes for more options. read more

We went to The Pinery because they were part of the Bite30 promotion where you can get 3 courses for $33 for a limited time. To start, I was glad they have complimentary valet parking because, even though it was a Tuesday night, I couldn't see any street parking available. The restaurant is very nice inside, spacious with historical Florida decor. The only thing is, it gets very loud in the restaurant. I'm not sure why as not all of the tables were filled. The chairs and booths are very comfortable. For the appetizer course, we got the Fish Dip which was very good with a smoky taste. The Watermelon salad was also very good, with fig balsamic on top of the watermelon slices and heirloom tomatoes. The pork belly tacos were tasty. For main entrees, half of us got the Hanger Steak and the rest got Chicken and Waffles. The Hanger steak was great, flavorful (although chewy, because, you know, hanger steak) with a great butter on top. The Chicken was a bit dry and really needed the gravy and the waffles were kind of thin. The Pot de Creme for dessert was amazing! Rich and chocolately served with warm beignets. A large portion, too! The Blondie with ice cream was fine, with the surprise of pineapple pieces in the ice cream. The banana crème brûlée was fine, but maybe needed something to counteract the "just bananas" taste. Dinner took a while, I think because the server was new and after we finished our appetizers, asked if we wanted her to put in our entree order. We didn't realize she would have waited to ask us. Hopefully she will learn to judge when to put in the order for the next course. The owner came by to talk to us a few times and was delightful. We will definitely come back. read more

Was ok . The food was just ok. I had the tuna and fried green tomatoes app. Wish the tomatoes were thicker, it was mostly bread but not soggy so that's always good. Tuna just tasted like tuna cabbage was bitter and had no flavor. The sauce was ok. Soft shell crab was good. The perloo was spicy wasn't aware how spicy it was going to be. Other than spice it was pretty much a gumbo type flavor , mostly tomato flavor, the shrimp had good flavor and the chorizo was nice but the rice pretty much was tomato rice the perloo was 34$, you could make it at home for like 5 bucks.. I wasn't impressed. Drinks were decent. I expected more. read more

Well.. went back with another friend... she loved it. I can't rave enough about this place. She got the brisket mac n cheese and she said it was tasty. I went for the smash burger with the truffle fries. I think what I loved the most was the pineapple jam on the burger. It was YUMMY and savory. We both had extra dirty Maritinis and they were delicious. I have to add that the goat cheese stuffed olives were amazeballs. If you're ever in the Ivanhoe Village area, do yourself a favor and check out the Pinery. read more

The Pinery is a cute spot for dinner with friends and family if you're in the Ivanhoe Village area. Located next to Lake Ivanhoe so outdoor seatings have a nice view of the lake. Food: Starting with the good stuff: my friend got Salmon Cakes (bite30 menu) which was very good and flavorful, even better with the lemon caper aoilo. I love their bread service! Biscuits were great with pimento cheese and cornbread went well with cinnamon honey butter. The Gator Tenderloin Tacos were cooked nicely, the slaws & aoilo complimented the gator well. Now to the stuff that could be improved: Blistered Shishitos were ok but could use more flavors, some were too overcooked. Peel & Eat Key West Pink Shrimp were a little overcooked, but had nice seasoning and good sauces. For the drinks, I got Pineapple Sugar which is tasty, creamy and light. My husband got The Little General during Golden Hour (M-F 4-7pm) for $8 so that was totally worth it. My second drink was Prosecco Watermelon Margaritas, the taste was good but unexpectedly not as light as I thought it would be. I think that either their Prosecco was completely flat or it was accidentally omitted from both drinks I ordered. Overall for an upscale restaurant, I do think there's room for improvement in terms of execution in the kitchen and behind the bar. I've heard great things so perhaps consistency is the key. Service: Our server was nice. But service in general was on the slower side. At one point the hostess delivered our drinks, so perhaps not enough staff last night. Value: I think the price is ok for the portion depending on what you order. The mains can be pricey so if you opt to do a few small plates (social eats section) then that can be enough. If the food and drinks were super impressive, then I would have said it was totally worth the value for the portion you get, but they weren't quite there yet. Ambience: The place is spacious with nice decors. A lot of booths so very comfortable. There are plenty of tables with chairs so those are good from accessibility aspect. Crowd: I went at 6:30pm on Thursday and the restaurant was about 75% full. We did have a reservation so didn't have to wait but I've been here on a Friday night previously and it can get very busy. Parking: Parking was challenging (no parking lot). They do offer free valet but the valet person wasn't there when I pulled up so I ended up parking way in the street way back in the community. read more

First time at the Pinery and I wish I'd tried it sooner. Our server was good, but the kitchen and bar were very slow when we went. It took 20+ minutes to get a cocktail. The food was heavy but delicious. I especially enjoyed the bread and carpaccio to start. The number one downside of this restaurant is the volume level. Me and my partner ended up shouting at each other across the table due to the noise. This is why we didn't stay for a second drink or dessert. We will definitely come again on a hopefully quieter night. read more

Nice ambience, complimentary valet and very good drinks but the food was just average Bread service: this was actually very good. Tasty breads and nice spreads Chicken wings: well made but no flavor so pretty bland Chicken sandwich: no seasoning on the chicken so pretty bland there, the sauce might as well have not been on there, didn't taste it. Bacon was good and the bread. The piece of pineapple was probably the only thing that made this slightly less boring Glad I tried it but I'll probably only be back for drinks read more

Love this place! Great food, ambiance, and service! Cassidy was a very friendly, competent, and patient server, outstanding service! We really liked the vibe in there and the food was excellent! Some of us had the Bite 30 menu and some did not. The smoked fish dip was so good, as was the shrimp and grits. The fish sandwiches were huge! All the desserts were delicious! It can be challenging sometimes to find parking, but they have free valet (except for tip), so it's not really free. We will be back! read more
The Pinery just opened about a month ago, and it already appears to be an Ivanhoe neighborhood favorite! The interior design is gorgeous and this place was definitely poppin' when we went last Saturday night. We lucked out with a last minute reservation after someone cancelled, so we were excited to finally check it out. When we arrived, we saw that they had complimentary valet parking which is very convenient in this area since finding a place to park can be tricky. I noticed the beautiful patio right out front with cozy seating and great vibes. (In the future, I'd probably opt to sit out there if it's not too hot.) We were immediately greeted by the friendly host staff and escorted to our booth. Just briefly looking around, every seat in the house (including the bar) was full, which is a great sign for a new biz. The noise level was pretty high in the dining room, which is the main reason I think I'd prefer the outdoor area next time. I started with the Prosecco Watermelon Margarita ($15), which was very tasty. The cocktails here are a bit more expensive than I would expect (mostly in the $14-16 range). I also wanted to try the G & T ($16), but I'll have to save that one for my next visit. For appetizers, we went with the Pinery Bread Service ($8) and the small portion of Watermelon Heirloom Salad ($7). Yes, I'm obsessed with all the watermelon things! The bread service was good, but I probably wouldn't order it again. My husband and I both enjoyed the cinnamon honey butter, but the breads were a bit dry. I think I would prefer to save my stomach space for dessert, haha. For our main dishes, my hubs got the Shrimp & Grits ($26) and I got the Buttermilk Fried Chicken sandwich ($14) based on the recommendation by our server. The sandwich was big & tasty and served with crispy french fries. My husband also enjoyed their unique take on shrimp & grits. It definitely wasn't your traditional s&g, but it was a pleasant surprise! Overall the service was great and I'm looking forward to giving it another try. I'm super bummed I didn't have room for dessert because I had my eye on that Hummingbird cake. There's always next time! read more
Ivanhoe Village has no shortage of great places to eat and The Pinery is definitely a standout. It has one of the more gorgeous interiors I've seen, with many nods to the pineapple past of the area. This visit my wife and I went the seafood route for bite30 and the crab Mac and cheese was the winner. I wasn't a fan of the bread pudding however and look forward to trying a different dessert. The drinks and appetizers, especially the bread platter are always on point. Service is also fantastic, from the host to the server, you're taken care of. With free valet and an outdoor bar there really is no reason not to stop by and try this place. read more
It was my boyfriend's and my first time at The Pinery. Overall, we were impressed but I wouldn't say we were blown away. Would definitely go again and try different items on the menu. We had a 7:45pm dinner reservation on Saturday night and I did my best to time it right after getting out of a movie, but unfortunately we were way too early (almost an hour) and had to wait it out at the bar (completely understandable especially for a Saturday night). The interior of the restaurant is pleasing to the eye, upscale and trendy. When we took our seats at the bar, a bartender promptly greeted us and handed us drink menus (my boyfriend had an old fashioned and I ordered an aperol spritz - both were great). At around 7:45, we were lead to our table (a booth along the wall) and our server came over shortly to get us started with drinks (I fail to remember his name but he had longish slicked back hair - Very friendly and attentive). I decided to try their "blackberry after dark" off the cocktail menu. I didn't hate it, but it was nothing I'd ever order again (the combination of blackberry + cinnamon is odd to me, but maybe that's just me). We started off the meal with their "bread service". It consisted of 3 tiny biscuits and a small sized slice of cornbread. For $8, I expected a little more, but the biscuits were delicious. Next we had "The Pinery Platter" which is basically a charcuterie & cheese plate. It was aesthetically pleasing and I really enjoyed the purple colored cheese (I think it was some type of cheddar?) and the cured meats were tasty, but all in all, I felt like it fell a little short (the pecans could have been toasted or candied, the crackers were meh and in general I felt it wasn't enough to warrant the $20 price tag. For our main courses, my boyfriend ordered the lobster risotto (SO good; I'd definitely order it next time) and I ordered the Scottish salmon. His portion was huge; mine was lacking and once again, the $32 price tag I thought was a little outrageous for the amount of food I received (despite this, it still tasted great and the salmon was cooked to perfection). All in all, I had a positive experience minus the fact that I felt the food was a bit overpriced and a tad underwhelming, however, I would go again because the positives outweighed the negatives. read more

Gorgeous new addition to Ivanhoe Village, tonight was only their 5 day since opening and it's already packed! Love that they offered a complimentary valet option given how tough parking is in the area. We started off with the bread service which was good, enjoyed the cinnamon butter but didn't feel like it suited the bread options well. Since we also arrived during "Golden Hours" (4pm-6pm) we ordered some half off wine and well cocktails. Our server was even nice enough to see if we would like another round before the 6pm cut off! My husband ordered the Shrimp and Grits which were fantastic, if you're used to a large portion that is not the case here but the flavor was outstanding. I ordered the 6oz Filet and while the flavor was good I was disappointed in the size of my steak. I am familiar with how a 6oz filet should look and this was very small, I would likely not order it again for $40. We finished with a Sour Orange Pie and Chocolate Pot de Creme, both were fantastic and loved the little donuts with the Pot de Creme! I was really hoping that this place would be absolutely delicious. I saw the great reviews and thought that we would give it a try. Unfortunately, the food here was definitely not up to standards for the price. There were three of us and we each got something different. One thing I can say is that our waiter was top-notch. That's why I gave them three stars. He was very sweet, pretty knowledgeable, and checked on us constantly. We did not have a reservation, and I thought they would be much busier because of the reviews. We got right in as soon as they opened on Saturday, early evening. We had the smoked fish dip, as an appetizer, which was fantastic! My husband had an old fashion made with tequila and it was really good. I had a sparkling rosé. Can't go wrong there. Now to the entrees... Sweet-tea Chicken. As it was explained, it was supposed to be half of a chicken. The person who ordered this entrée does not enjoy dark meat, so he figured he would have half of a breast and take the dark meat home for the rest of us who do! Not the case. The chicken was mostly breading and very little meat. Almost no breast meat whatsoever. The breading was tasty, but way too much of it. Herbed potatoes were good, not great. Redfish entree. I had never had redfish before, and was told that it was a white fish that was very mild. Definitely NOT so. It smelled fishy the minute they sat it down in front of me. I normally eat fish everywhere we go, so I definitely know a fishy fish when I smell it!! It also had a lot of oily parts in it. You will be able to see that in my pictures. I got the Parmesan truffle fries and the cucumber, tomato salad. The fries were definitely just regular fries with no Parmesan cheese on them at all, and very little truffle taste. The cucumber salad was good. Pork chop entree. Although cooked beautifully, there was absolutely no flavor to this dish whatsoever. Honey carrots were DELICIOUS! Overall, I would say that the vibe was cool, but the food, for the price, was very mediocre. Having tons of options, in and around Orlando, we definitely will not be returning. I will say that our waiter felt bad about our food, and offered us free dessert. Pretty sad, because all three of our dishes were 30+ dollars each. #learningexperience#487 read more

I hadn't heard of The Pinery until I saw it on Magical Dining and are we are so glad to have discovered it! Merlin took amazing care of us, the drinks and food were great, and the ambiance was very chill. I love the historical aspect they highlight about the Lake Ivanhoe area as well. I can't praise Merlin enough about his superior service. Seriously the best server we've had in years and that says a lot! Great personality and salesmanship, so kudos Merlin! read more

Such a cute restaurant with such nice pineapple decorations. Three of us did the Bite30 menu and tried almost everything on the special menu. I'd highly recommend the alligator hushpuppies and the croissant bread pudding. The waiter was so friendly, she was on top of keeping our waters full and checking in on us often. read more

A nice place! Stumbled upon it as we were walking around Ivanhoe park. Later found out that I already follow them on Instagram! 4 of us sat at the bar and had a drink and shared their charcuterie board. The board was nice and we devoured it. Moderately noisy atmosphere, but not too bad. We went on a Saturday night and although college or professional football was playing, they were showing surf videos on their TVs at the bar - the guys called that out as a little "odd" but didn't say anything ti the bartenders. read more

After hearing about this place from our Yelp community and on the local radio my husband and I were excited to finally try this hot spot out for our anniversary. Located off Lake Ivanhoe this restaurant is old Florida themed. All ingredients are local Florida based and some play an homage to Floridian lifestyle. We were greeted and seated with complimentary champagne for our date night and had to order the tuna tartare and bread service. I must say the tuna was fresh and the sweet soy sauce was tasty. Though the bread service was much better and super fresh croissants with a delicious butter. The dessert was fantastic which were their play on beignets with a chocolate sauce/pudding. I am giving them our stars because we were not super impressed with the entrees. I ordered the scallops with risotto, I didn't realize the risotto was with squid ink so I was hoping for something more creamy with the scallops. My husband ordered the strip steak and again we were anticipating a strip steak and not medallion-like steaks. Overall the service was great and the apps and dessert were wonderful, we would just choose other entrees next time. read more
