We stayed at this hotel for the weekend since we had a Spartan Race in Killington. The location was convenient and the price was affordable. Checking in was easy and the rooms were standard; they were spacious and clean. We had two queen beds, coffee machine, a large TV, and mini fridge. The room was quiet, we didn't hear any of our neighbors. We noticed it was kid-friendly also. I think they definitely get more busy during the winters because of skiing and snowboarding season. There are many mountains and trails nearby. Parking was spacious and the customer service was good. The heated pool area was nice and they had a game room with arcade games and a pool table; there was an iTunes machine but it was down. I noticed a couple of vending machines if you have a snack craving. There's a restaurant onsite but we didn't dine there. The town of Ludlow was a few minutes away and it had plenty of shops and restaurants. Overall, we had a good stay and would definitely stay there again! read more

Relatively inexpensive hotel near Okemo with distinctive room configurations like a King with bunk beds making interesting options for a group of four or less. During summer of 2021 they are not offering daily room cleaning, which is not an issue for a short stay but somewhat inconvenient for long stays. There's an indoor pool and hot tub. Although when we were there the pool was incredibly cold. There's also a much warmer outdoor pool up the hill at Castle Hill Spa. Front desk service was mixed with some attendants much friendlier than others. The keys de-magnetize easier so it was an annoyance to constantly return to front desk to have them re-coded. We stayed here 3 nights. No USB ports anywhere. No room service, not even a tidy up! We requested to have our beds made, NO! against our policy. To get clean towels you must put your used ones in the hall, they forgot to bring us new clean towels. No exceptions, so if you are intimate with your partner you're stuck with the old sheets as long as you are there. Very dated rooms, funky smells in the elevator, the ice machine and mens room were out of service. . And NO breakfast offered. Avoid this hotel if you are staying more than 1 night! We will not go back, and this was the first hotel that treated their guests like this, you go on vacation thinking you will not have to do what you do at home, i.e. make your bed, get clean sheets, and clean towels. And when asking at the desk for an exception NO! And no apology either, WHAT ARE YOU PAYING FOR? When we told some of the locals where we were staying,100% said you can do better at many other places. read more

Booked this from Groupon to break up a two week trip to New England. We arrived late at night and the check in was a little, how do I say, different but we got our room and settled in for a few nights stay. The hotel itself was a bit dated to the 1980s but the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. In itself I would give it a three, but it is part of a larger estate that includes a castle and amenities just up the hill that in themselves are five star. Seriously, don't even bother with the continental breakfast at the hotel. Get yourself together and go and enjoy the start to your day up at the castle. It reminded me a little bit of breakfast at the Empress in Victoria with the view of the beautiful gardens. The grounds around the castle are beautiful and a nice place to walk around a bit. The library of the castle has been turned into the bar and is open at 4pm each day for "happy hour." It is a great place to just sit and relax with a good book and a drink. We didn't have a chance to enjoy dinner at the castle, but would like to go back again to have that opportunity. read more

My fiance recently went to The Pointe at Castle Hill during the past Memorial DAY Weekend. We scored a great deal through Groupon and decided to book our stay since it was such a steal. Most places don't allow you to book discounted rate during holiday weekends, so it was great that we were able to book 2 nights for a little over $200. When we arrived at the Pointe we had a smooth check in and were advised the easiest way to get to our room would be through the side parking and the side door. Our room wasn't too far from the entrance which was great. It avoided us from entering through just the main lobby. To be honest, the only time we were in the lobby was to pick up and drop off our room keys. But off first impressions, the hotel was well kept. When we entered our room, we were amazed by how spacious it was. The suite included a fully equipped kitchen. Including all utensils, plates, bowls, pans, cups, and even a corkscrew (we brought one in case based on passed experiences in a different hotel.) The suite was super clean and very homey. The best was super comfortable and didn't feel run down at all. We really enjoyed our stay at The Pointe. read more

Beware Covid and checkout scam! We booked a suite for one week and paid in full ahead of time. We arrived to find out that there is NO CLEANING service, and other than a sponge, NO cleaning supplies. Nothing was mentioned in the emails or website. Covid was given as the reason - so okay. Then, I noticed that the hotel didn't give the cleaning staff any masks, they had to bring their own. Then, I find out that the fancy resort that shares the property and cleaning staff is getting cleaning service!! I ask the cleaning mgr who first denies (says the resort guests were lying or playing a prank on me), then finally confirms that they can't find enough staff to clean all the rooms so the fancy resort gets priority. So, it wasn't Covid at all. That was the first scam. The second was when I was presented with a bill of almost $200 at checkout. I had NO room charges, so I called to contest, showing that I had paid in full in advance. "Oh no, you didn't pay in full - they didn't ask you for the full amount!" Luckily, I had the email confirmation of the prices, and finally the staff relented. So, check your bills carefully. It's a shame because the suite was nice (bring some kitchen stuff like pans and a Fire TV for the cable). And while you can't use the grounds per se, you can visit the library at the castle for happy hour. It is beautiful and the drinks are reasonable. Also, the indoor pool and jacuzzi were clean, though very high chlorine. This could have been a very nice place. read more

My family stayed at the hotel for 2 nights last week. The hotel was lovely. Well decorated, and very clean. They have a small game room with arcade games, a juke box, and a pool table. The pool was small, but it had a hot tub and was very tidy. We booked a room with a king bed and bunk beds. The room was very clean, but smaller than any online photos showed. The bed felt like a gymnastics tumbling floor. Hard and bouncy. The pillows were basically nonexistent. It took 3 just to support my head. I will say the towels are wonderful! All in all, we had a great time on our trip, I just wish the beds were better. read more

This hotel is far from that...Run down Hampton Inn at best...The Castle Dining and Spa areas are completely separate. Beds left us feeling sore and uncomfortable when we were planning on exploring the area. So much for feeling relaxed...Lukewarm shower. One person at the front desk on Labor Day Weekend is ridiculous. I felt bad for her, she kept a great attitude while checking us in with 3 lines on hold, but didn't explain where the pool was or if we were allowed to walk the premises of the "Spa" area which was where the outdoor pool was. Minimal TV options are abysmal because there's nothing else to do on the property. It was fresh and clean upon walking in with definitely older pieces of furniture, no real view and not worth $150 - surprisingly, $150 a night was ON a discount and that was the shocker. I would pay $99 max per night including tax given the location. I find it annoying that they charge $10 more for using the castle pool? Very very strange. Cleaning lady didn't change the sheets when it was clear that food had gotten on it and there were stains and instead she just reused these... Also, the Aveda hair products left my hair feeling dry and brittle... Wasn't a fan. The kitchen was great and very clean, and the coffee offered was good as well. If you have people in your group that need a fridge, get the suite! Also, for a hotel, I wouldn't expect a response of "I'm the only one here" when asked if there was someone who can help us ladies with the luggage. Couldn't you step away for a second? Couldn't you call someone from your castle? Anything... Or be a bit more apologetic .. Not fun after driving 5.5 hours and in the dark, with 4 ladies and a baby. If you don't want to read through my whole review, the important takeaways are: no working Wifi in the room, must go to lobby to get Wifi, lobby overcrowded (probably bc of no wifi in room), only one table available to sit at in lobby, large sitting area with lots of tables/chairs upstairs but closed and not available to guests. No daily housekeeping available. The staff is friendly and the location is great for skiing at Okemo, less than a 10 minute drive. That's where the pros end. The room is spacious but condition is old and shabby. Beds are super soft. Shower head is handheld and positioned low. Most importantly, there is NO wifi available in the room. I know they advertise free high-speed Wifi, but it's a joke. Our room was all the way on the side of the building on the 2nd floor, and we could not get any working connection. I complained to the front desk and they said maybe the system needs a reset and would relay my complaint to the building manager. Second day, still the same. The only way we could get wifi that actually worked was in the lobby. I would think this is a cheap fix to have wifi throughout the whole building, but this goes with the whole atmosphere of this "resort." The lobby is usually packed at nights, probably because there is nothing to do in the room. I saw a sitting area with ample tables and chairs on the 2nd floor and asked if we could use it, but the answer was that it is closed. Really nowhere available to eat our takeout except in our rooms, or hope that one table in the lobby isn't taken (it always is). One good thing about having a room at the side of the building is that the exit is right there at the bottom of the stairs, however you can't enter from the side of the building. Oh and also no daily housekeeping, so you have to put out trash on your own and call the front desk to pick up. And sheets, towels, garbage bags, etc has to be obtained from front desk. They're very friendly about it, but I just want people to be aware, in case you're expecting any kind of service here. My kids did have a wonderful time skiing at Okemo though! It's a great mountain for beginners, they loved the abundance of green circle trails. But, next time we will be looking for different lodging. read more

I purchased a Groupon for one night back in April. The hotel is on the older side, but what really bothered me was the lack of cleanliness. The ice from the second floor ice machine had black specks in it, like no one had cleaned it in months. Considering I only saw one other family during my time there, I don't know how they didn't have time. My king room came with a jacuzzi tub. I was excited about this until I filled the tub with water and pushed the jets button. Large black pieces of grime came out of the jets! I was really grossed out. We had a wonderful time at The Pointe. It was our 15 month old pug Funyun's first vacation and it was absolutely perfect. Such a warm and dog friendly hotel. We stayed here over 20 years ago with our yellow lab Otis and had a great experience then too. He was barking while we were skiing and we came back to find him working the front desk with the staff! There was a gorgeous Great Dane working the desk this time. Every staff member was warm and friendly and made us feel welcome and comfortable. The rooms are clean and the sitting area in the lobby is cozy. We used the heated outdoor saltwater pool and hot tub at the Castle and it was absolutely amazing! Highly recommend. I happened visit this place as a result of a Groupon deal. I came here during the the summer season on my drive back from Canada. Despite the great reviews, I was very disappointed by the absence of what's to be expected in contemporary hotels: free continental breakfast, internet. It is clear that this hotel is in close proximity to the Okemo mountains and may be a great place to visit during a ski vacation, but this place really did not impress me for the amount of money it charges. They also did offer coupons for dinner at the Castle Inn and spa massages, but both activities would easily charge for greater than $100 and the coupon would do little to shave off the initial cost. The gym and the indoor pools were nice and wish I had taken advantage of them, but the lack of internet was just poor form. read more

I went through Groupon and saved a lot of money at this hotel. I got a king-size suite for $99 a night. The room is beautiful. Very well maintained. I absolutely love the working gas fireplace in the living room. My wife and I got a couple massage in their Spa. I will also tell you that Chris and Palmer gave us two of the greatest massages my wife and I have ever had. Went here with my daughters for a small 2 nite getaway. Booked the hotel and spa based on the reviews and pics. Unfortunately the pictures shown are not really representative of the Pointe Hotel in some cases. No fancy dining room, gardens , those are actually pics of the Castle Inn, above the hotel. Not only was the hotel the way poorer cousin to the Castle, but there really is no reciprocal relationship. I was told we could access the pool and fitness center as guests at the Pointe, but I was very disappointed to find out there was a daily 15.00 fee to do so. In addition, though the Pointe Hotel was probably on a par with Holiday Inn or the like , there was not even a free breakfast available. Rooms were OK, pillows not so great. Spa also a bit over priced ....on a good note we did have an excellent meal at the Castle. Pointe Hotel also has a poor location, right on a pretty busy Route 103, not at all nestled in the woods and hills as we imagined. read more

Really confused by this "resort" to be honest. The pictures online of the hotel must mostly be of the smaller building up the hill.... DO NOT be fooled the big main building is NOT what most of the pictures on the website show. The big main building is where I stayed. We had a king room. Mini fridge was on the floor.... bathroom was really old and out dated, bed wasn't comfortable and the pillows were small travel pillows. Old furniture in the room but a nice big TV. The pool area was clean and nice but that's only for the indoor pool and hot tub. You have to pay extra for the outdoor one.... Not sure how the other building/hotel up the hill is. They do have a dining option available and breakfast option but it was too expensive for us. We ended up finding some local places but the area isn't very populated with restaurants. The resort does have a spa but the prices were outrageously expensive. Overall confused about the promotions of this place not being the reality. Some aspects were nice some not so much. I stayed here with my girlfriend in late April using a Groupon deal. This particular hotel, at the bottom of the hill from the Castle Hill location, is very basic and only includes the bare minimum. The promotion included vouchers for dining and spa treatments but the value for these did little to offset the large price tag. We chose to dine in town instead. The highlight of the hotel is the indoor pool and jacuzzi which were both very relaxing and, since it was the off-season, not particularly crowded. read more

We have stayed here twice and have been pleased with the cleanliness and service both times. Suites and condos are well equipped with everything needed to cook in. The three course dinner at the castle is a must do and was incredible. Arcade available and the pool/hot tub area was great. Plenty of things to do in the surrounding area as well, Cavendish is very charming. Only thing I wish management would do is add video surveillance to the facilities as someone hit our car in the parking lot while we ate at the castle. Don't be fooled by the photos of The Pointe Hotel. This Hotel is NOTHING like the Castle Hill Resort and Spa. It is merely down the hill from the resort and spa. The Pointe Hotel has the look and feel of a roadside motel. It does have an indoor pool and hot tub, coffee in the room and lobby, and a vending/ice machine area, but that's where the amenities stop. There is NOTHING resort-like to be found here. There is no in-room food service. You have to walk up a steep hill to get to the Castle Hill dining area for breakfast or dinner. There are no lights on the winding road up to the mansion, so bring a flashlight if you want to walk there. The rooms are okay, but nothing fancy. AC in the rooms is super noisy; AC is practically non-existent in the main areas. The suites come with a full kitchen, so that is probably the way to go. The front desk personnel were friendly, but, with one exception, none of them were knowledgeable about the area or things to do. The coffee area in the lobby was messy and the coffee, creamers, cups, etc., were in short supply. Napkins and cup sleeves were not provided. We were given a room with a king bed and two bunk bed upon our arrival, contrary to our paid Groupon reservation for 2 queen beds. We were told that no other rooms were available, but after we complained to the manager, a room opened up next to the exit. It was extremely noisy. WiFi is only free in the lobby. The furnishings in the lobby are worn out and shabby looking. Pointe Hotel guests have spa privileges at The Castle Hill Spa, but unless you book well in advance, you won't be able to enjoy any of the spa treatments; there aren't enough practitioners to provide services to 100s of guests at a time. One does have access to the spa's gorgeous outdoor salt water pool and hot tub, but no food or beverage service for the pool area is provided and the outdoor pool closes at 7:45 PM. The spa has 2 showers, but only one shower has shampoo and soap. Body lotion, combs, hair spray, etc., that one would expect at a high priced spa are non-existent. Yoga and pilates classes are available on an extremely limited basis and cost $15 to attend. The Castle Hotel is truly beautiful and the food at dinner was excellent, as was the service. There's live music (piano) in the library where one can enjoy a cocktail prior to dining. The music wafts over to the dining areas, making for a delightful accompaniment to the delicious meal. One can also enjoy cocktails or dessert out on the veranda, overlooking the mountains. I would go back and stay at The Castle Spa and Resort, but I would NEVER stay at The Point Hotel. If one is traveling to Vermont on a budget, find a deal at Okemo Mountain Resort instead. That is a real resort. The Point Hotel is a glorified Do Drop Inn. read more

The rates are very reasonable for what you get; we had a suite, which had a full bathroom, (with a washer dryer) queen size bed in the bedroom, living room with several couches, a dining area, and full kitchen. Was there the weekend of 5/16/14. We had a double queen room with a pull out couch. Our room was clean and comfortable. Check in/out was easy. The jacuzzi tub in the room was to die for. The pool and jacuzzi in the hotel were great as well. The small gym needed a TV and to be updated. Our A/C in the room did not work the first night so they gave us a fan that could have blown us away. The next day it was still not working so they offered to let us upgrade to a suite. They were gorgeous but it had cooled down enough where we didn't need to switch. Logan seemed to be the on call handy man. He was super helpful and nice. You know for being "off season" and considering we had a deal with Couptopia, this was a pretty nice place. I actually disagree the King Suite is small...unless maybe you have others staying with you. ..we found it to be spacious. Bathrooms were clean & had available Aveeda products along with a hairdryer. There is a mini compact fridge with a Krup Coffee maker and New England coffee k cups available to pop in....just bring some creamer and sugar. The TV is on satellite and we lost that off and on most of one day we were here. No biggie but keep that in the back of your mind if your a TV watcher or bringing kids....there's always a chance it'll go out. I'd suggest bringing a laptop or DVD player just in case. The castle up the hill is beautiful. ..went in to check it out though we stayed in the hotel below it. Staff here is friendly. Rained so we didn't use the pool outside.There is NOT much to do in the area off season but my guess is leaf peeping season and of course ski season are beautiful so try it out then. All in all a great place but I don't think we'd drive all this way again on an off season. Coupon made it worth it. read more

Can't begin to say enough about The Pointe Inn at Castle Hill. Came here to celebrate 15th wedding anniversary with kids with us. Cherri at the front desk literally chased me down the hall to meek Sure we had the suite that would best fit our family's needs. The suite was beautiful, fully equipped and immaculate. We had a lovely and unexpected tour of the castle from one of the staff there. It's a slice of perfectly preserved century-old history. spent last night floating in the heated outdoor pool, starting up at a star-filled sky and soaking in the heavenly hot tub. During day, Kids spent a lot of time in the indoor pool. I had a chance to teach them how to play pool in the arcade. We shopped at the nearby Vermont Country store, which was a lot of fun and filling (lots of cheeses and sausages to try.) when we arrived back at the hotel, the room was again immaculate. Staff even called us to check on how things were going with the room. Thanks Pointe Inn staff for making this one of the nicest weekends of our family's life. read more

Bought the groupon with a friend for 3 nights. The front desk, her was Amy I believe, was very courteous when checking us in. No pets are allowed in the suites but since we already booked the groupon she said they would make an exception. She also gave us a discount on the pet policy (from $40 down to $20/night for our dog. It probably helped that we had a small dog who was fully house broken and we also brought a crate just in case we had to leave the dog behind while we went out. We never used it as we always had the dog with us where ever we went! The suite was pretty nice. The kitchen was fully stocked with a small, medium, large pot, a large sauce pan, baking dishes, cooking utensils (although, they were metal and when we made eggs, the metal spatula would constantly cut them open so bring your own set if you don't want to use metal ones), large/small/med mixing bowls, cereal bowls, small/large plates, forks, knives, knife set, small/med drinking cups and wine glasses. The living room had a standard flat screen tv, fireplace and a queen size pullout couch. The pullout wasn't that comfortable and wasn't even. Bring a pad if you're gonna use it. The bedroom had a comfy king size bed with ample drawer and closet space for two people. It also had the same size tv has in the living room. Both tvs had basic cable. The bathroom was a good size. Had a tub with jets. Our shower nozzle was a little finicky but we were able to get a hot shower every night so not really a complaints. The house keeping was polite and tidied up really well. If you're on the end where their closet is (by the elevator and on the dame side as the pool) then you'll be the first room they knock on. We were surprised to get a knock at 9am. Overall, it was a good experience. It's a pretty relaxed environment. If you plan on using the cart, make sure to make a reservation for it with them well before your check out time - they only had one and it was a hassle with all the families that needed to use it. read more

Spent the weekend with some girlfriends. It was clean and fine for what we needed it for- Sleep! A Very little bathroom counter space, water temp wasn't that good in the am after three showers. Restaurant at the Castle was sooo expensive we didn't go and the spa was totally booked. Definitely make reservations before you go. Pool was nice but the area is small. At the end of our stay now. One of the coldest times I have had in VT - been watching -30 wind chills. We, my family of 4 and a friends family of 4 have been well taken care of. Our kids would have been unbearable without the indoor pool and game room. Our suites were CLEAN, well appointed and comfortable. Very nice staff and atmosphere. From checkin to breakfast the staff has been attentive and kind. The room decor is ok and maybe not as nice as I would have thought after staying at the Woodstock Inn. Especially after what they charge per night. The indoor pool is nice for kids with a hot tub too for relaxation. We even tried the outdoor pool which was fun too with the snow on the ground. It is a quick drive into town and to Okemo Mountain. Overall a nice hotel but there are others (Mainly Woodstock) that are more impressive. read more

Not very room is created equal. Avoid the "condo hotel rooms". If you end up in the M building, beware the 6:30 a.m. Propane truck delivery on a Saturday!!!! Are you kidding me!?!?!? There's nothing relaxing about getting woken up by that! And it's not a 5 minute disturbance. It must have taken at least an hour with that truck right outside our window.. The room is excruciatingly small for a family of 4! They crammed a TV in the closet n the bedroom and they didn't even provide any hangers! In VT for a ski weekend and we can't even hang up our coats or pants. The TV in man area was miss g a remote as well, and you couldn't use the remote from the bedroom since it was a different brand TV. The bathroom is tiny as well, no counter space to place any thing. Family of four and they gave us two towels. And again, there is a single hook on the back of the door with no other hangers or hooks to hang wet towels. There are no floor matts at the door so you track all the winter snow, salt, and mud mto the room. Not a fan of this trip. There are better units up the hill with more spacious accommodations but be sure you know what you are getting. read more

My lady and I were deceived by the photos representing this hotel. We found out later that the photos were of the castle on top of the hill where the rooms are pricier and there is an extremely expensive restaurant and Aveda Spa! Upon walking in, we weren't sure we were even in the right building. The decor was extremely outdated and dirty in appearance. We would have to pay to even use internet, and the continental breakfast would be $10 even though there is no meat at breakfast, just scrambled eggs. We found hair in our shower drain, and the room's cleanliness was questionable. The room's decor was not awful, but there are definitely areas in the room that are in need of repair. The pillows were flimsy and not even good enough to be travel pillows for one's car. The pool and hot tub seemed over chlorinated, moldy in places, and not well maintained. We made the most of our stay here, but next time we will definitely stay somewhere else. read more
