Given that the failure was determined to be a warranty-covered defect, I do not believe I should be responsible for the diagnostic service charge. I purchased this hot tub with the expectation that warranty-covered failures would be handled without imposing significant out-of-pocket costs simply to confirm a defective component. Charging customers a substantial service fee to diagnose and validate a warranty claim undermines the value of the warranty itself. I respectfully request reimbursement of the $249.00 service fee, or an explanation of why this charge is not covered when the repair has been confirmed as a valid warranty claim. After draining our hot tub recently, we noticed that the shell was mottled. The hot tub was still…read moreunder warranty, so we figured that we might as well contact The Hot Tub Store, worst case they'd tell us to live with it. Turns out there was a known issue with that color of shell so they told us we would be getting a brand new hot tub, just in a different color. Yesterday our new hot tub was delivered. In the two years since our purchase they have improved the hot tub. There is a new feature called "Freshwater IQ System" One must purchase a special cartridge to use that system. The service technician at our install advised us to just use our salt cartridge system until the cartridges need replacement, and then look into switching over to the new system. The technician, Ger, wired up the hot tub and showed us some of the new menus. We'll be filling it and setting it up this weekend and look forward to again using our hot tub.
