Friday July 5th 2024, I stopped in to watch the France v Portugal Euro Quarter Final. Called ahead to confirm they were playing the game. When I arrived, the game was playing but entirely frozen on 4-5 different TVs at the 34th minute. *see photos/videos attached* While the TV problem was never solved, you could tell it was chaos everywhere. The waiter was clearly stretched thin, but it seemed like it wasn't his first rodeo. He recited the menu like it was second nature. The service was non existent till he showed up, but sporadic and hectic once he did show up. You could tell he had dealt with this before, but shockingly the bar got served 2-3x quicker than sit down guests. From the broken TV's, to having to cancel our food, to the waiter who made us feel stressed for him, it was an odd experience. While I know they could not do much about the France soccer game, besides moving us to the back back room on the only TV that worked with FOX, the experience was certainly going downhill from the second we stopped in. Ive heard great things about this place from locals, and was unpleasantly disappointed. While the ambiance is that of a beach dive bar, the service was slower than a geriatric marathon on blood thinners. We paid $14 for a spicy margarita and $6 for a draft 30A blonde ale. 7.4, would return, just not a first choice by any means. read more

Walked in during spring break. This was our second time at the restaurant and it was an enjoyable experience. We ordered special (red snapper with grit cake), mahi mahi and stuffed manicotti. We ordered gumbo and cheese sticks for appetizer. The gumbo was excellent and a the element of smoke to it. The manicotti was also very good. All the fish was cooked perfectly and had good flavor. I was very happy with the snapper. It was super moist and the pairing with the grit cake was great. Good casual atmosphere and great meal. read more

Let me begin by stating that we have been faithful customers to Red Bar for ten years. It has always been a requirement for our family to make it a staple of our annual vacation. Unfortunately, one person can ruin your whole evening experience and when you're dropping around $350 minimum, you expect friendly service as well as accommodating. This was why we were so shocked by the snarky attitude we received almost immediately from our server (Server 31 - Alivia... according to our dinner receipt). The ambience of the Red Bar is intentionally very dark. Alivia started off on the wrong foot with us when we tried to shine a light on the menu board. She overreacted and spoke to us as if we were school children being told to listen because she was going to read it to us. The overall tone and facial expression was condescending and cocky. The attitude of the server was disrespectful and flippant. With a party of eight, we saw her at the most four times. We were unhappy with one of our meals, and the waitress gave an indifferent response instead of genuinely asking how can she can make it right. She returned to the table after correcting the meal, 20 minutes later, and referred to my husband as "How is Mr.No sauce?" The reason for her snide remark was because he asked for extra sauce because the pasta was dry. That snarky comment was the last thing she said to the table before bringing the check - again - after a lengthy wait I what was at this point an all but empty dining room. In the light of the dismal service, we truly regret leaving the tip (most of us at our table last night have worked in restaurants and would never dream of that... however , this should have been the exception to the rule). We thought about asking to speak to the manager on duty about the horrible service, but we didn't see anyone who seemingly matched that description and decided to simply vote with our feet and will never step foot in Red Bar again. Hoping that his scathing review reaches both the Red Bar ownership (so they can affect changes and maybe train our server Alivia out of some unprofessional and obnoxious habits) - and as many potential diners as possible, so they can spend their time & money elsewhere in Grayton Beach. I want to start out by saying The Red Bar is such an amazing classic spot in Grayton. My favorite dish on the menu is the Panne Chicken and sub the salad for a Grit Cake. As for service I have to say the man behind the bar with the dreads is on point. He was super friendly, respectful, energetic, and really made the night special. Even behind an incredibly busy bar he seems to get the job done with ease and is quick to get you another drink. Definitely will continue to get my service! are extremely rude due to the fact that the restaurant and surrounding area outside the restaurant are completely full of people. We did enjoy some live music outside however upon entering the restaurant, it seems like there was no air-conditioning and the restaurant was at least 80 degrees. Next the waiter decided to see us in a booth right next to the DJ set in the bar so a family of four was eating food right next to a bunch of college students dancing to Charli XCX blasting on a speaker. After ordering their famous shrimp and crawfish pasta, I was extremely disappointed to find plain penne noodles with butter and five shrimp and crawfish and unmelted cheese The dish was flavorless, and I could not hear people speaking across on the booth because it was so loud in there. It was odd that she decided to place a family of four right next to the bar and DJ when there was multiple other tables both outside and not near the bar. The ambience was nice inside. I'll give it that but the food as well as the staff are extremely disappointing. Especially the food considering we spent almost $130 on dinner if you are interested in a good dinner I would not recommend going here however, if you just want to get drunk and listen to loud music, I would recommend this place. read more

The food is mid. Nothing special about it. If you want to get talked down by 16 year olds this is the place to go. Super rude service. They wouldn't let us pull up and extra chair because of a "fire hazard" so two of us moved to the smaller table right by it and they were being super rude and said "we can't serve you at that table" as someone who had worked in customer service for many years this is not how you run a business. THE WORST SERVICE I'VE HAD, that's coming from a 4 year long server/bartender. If you want to get talked down to by a 16 and 25 year old this is the place to be! I will ALWAYS tip more than 20 percent unless it is the WORST service. Me and my boyfriend went to the bar while waiting for our table, we ordered 2 rounds of drinks. We love the egg rolls and look forward to it every trip we come down here. We order the egg rolls and the bartender brings out the mozzarella sticks. We tell him, no we ordered the egg rolls. He proceeds to viscously argue with us until another customer at the bar says that he heard us order egg rolls. He later brings us the egg rolls and doesn't take care of us/ignores us the rest of the night. We get a table and ask if we can have a menu after the server talks about the specials/dinner items. Mind you we have been here multiple times on our trip during dinner time and have never had troubles with getting a physical copy of the menu. The server says that the chalk board is the only menu. I then go to the host stand so I can have the full menu with appetizers and other food items. I ask if I can have the full menu and they say in the most condescending tone "YOUR SERVER WILL BRING IT TO YOU WHEN THEY GET TO THE TABLE" I say the server came to the table and he will not give us a menu, I add that we've been here before and they've given us a full menu during dinner. She looks at me like an idiot even though we came not 2 nights before and didn't have problems with a physical copy. MIND YOU we were at the bar and briefly saw THE FULL MENU. After I was talked down to some more, I joined with my boyfriend and promptly left. I can not believe the disrespect and attitude we were greeted with tonight especially when we waited at least 2 1/2 hours. TRAIN YOUR STAFF BETTER OR REPLACE THEM. Being a server I understand the customer is not always right but when we've been to the red bar multiple times and understand how the restaurant works, there should be no reason to make your patrons to feel like that. P.S we had a AMAZING server last week and he appeared as a bartender the other night. I tipped him 10 bucks on a 15 dollar ticket 2 times because his excellent service and customer service. The Red Bar is one of our very favorite restaurants along 30A! We have been visiting for years. We try to eat here at least twice while on vacation. You can dress up or go casual. Either way, you will fit right in. The eccentric decor and fast/friendly service is what they are known for. Typically there is a live band playing as soon as you walk in. There is a bar area as well. Serving lunch and dinner. No menu. They bring a chalkboard and go over it with you. Everything is delicious. You can't go wrong. We always order the smoked tuna dip. It's off menu, but they always have it, so just ask your server! Served with crackers and it's my absolute fav! I have tried the smoked tuna dip everywhere else and nothing compares to Red Bar's! I had the Panne Chicken this time and my husband had the seafood pasta special. It had shrimp, crawfish, and maybe lobster too. Very good flavor. The Panne Chicken was served with salad, mashed potatoes and a roll. Large portions. Since this was my birthday trip, we had cheesecake for dessert. Highly recommend! read more

Good chance you are going to have to drive a way to get to The Red Bar unless you live in Grayton Beach which you mostly likely dont - only a few hundred people do. But you need to make that drive because this is arguably the best food/drink/entertainment joint on the panhandle. It has a fun, artsy vibe with lots of stuff on the walls (and ceiling) to look at. The band they had playing was easily the best of any I experienced on my trip...wish I could remember their name. I'd chase them down every visit. The menu is a small selection of very well crafted dishes. i went with the blackened grouper which was served on top of a cheese-grit-cake with some spinach. Yummy ! Dessert was a homemade apple dumpling. Double-yummy. Service was friendly, food and drink were top notch, band was amazing, and prices were sane. Well deserved 5 star rating ! read more

Great fun atmosphere that kept the old and now is expanded outside for patio seating for cocktails. The cocktails are great and the margaritas seems like a double serving for the price of normal one cocktail. The food menu is streamlined with 6 fish/seafood choices on the board. The grouper is wonderful blackened or just grilled and comes with a yummy grit cake. The side house salad is huge & fresh. The crab cakes are a smooth texture filled full of crab vs lumps held together and also good. The Red Bar is an institution in Grayton Beach. It burned to the ground in 2019, but was raised from the ashes soon after and the inside looks amazingly the same (but better!) and is beloved by locals and tourists alike. We came during an off hour for lunch and were able to be seated quickly, but this is not usually the case. Expect a wait, but they'll text you when your table is ready so you can wander around the stores. Don't miss the Zoo Gallery across the street! Our food was mostly delicious. The tuna dip is yummy, I could actually see big flakes of smoked tuna. I got a lunch special: a fried shrimp basket. I'm still dreaming about those shrimp. Big, juicy, and just a little bit of the red peeking through the light batter. They were the best fried shrimp I've ever had at a restaurant. In that bar. A BAR. An eclectic bar in Grayton Beach in a quiet neighborhood just steps from the beach. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the Top Shelf margarita and smoked tuna dip. So far the tuna dip is the best we have found in Santa Rosa and don't forget the red sauce! The bar has a large seating area and lots of memorabilia throughout...of course the overall theme is RED. An amazing beach dinner spot!! Parking is limited, but it's a super fun area with other things to do around. Margaritas were A+, appetizers were great as well - the tuna dip and jalapeño poppers were awesome! For my entree, I got the crab cakes, only offered on Fri/Sat nights. And it was AMAZING! Super fresh and great size portion. With fun live music and vibey lighting, the atmosphere is super great, with lots of cool decor. You're order manicotti (normally only super authentic Italian places have) and other Italian dishes, while you're looking at the beach and listening to...blue grass music(?). Food My first sign should have been that stuffed jalapeño appetizer came with marinara sauce. Although the jalapeños were tasty the marinara sauce was too light on flavor to balance out the jalapeño. That's why it's normally served with a white sauce. The plates were decent but not great enough to come back for. Service The menu is a chalk board they bring around to you. Cool idea but it would be nice if someone said that, so you don't think they just forgot about you. Where I would give this 4 stars is our waitress kept up with the madness. She said her fish was excellent too. Waited 2 hours to get in but our server, Matt, was excellent. There is a bar across the street where you can wait for your table. Parking is slim downtown but there is a shuttle that runs between the parking lot and downtown that is free and runs often. Taking the shuttle is easy!
