Food was average, service was horrible ( probably due to short staff) but the ambience is great and it's local to the neighborhood.

THE WORST SERVICE I'VE HAD, that's coming from a 4 year long server/bartender. If you want to get talked down to by a 16 and 25 year old this is the place to be! I will ALWAYS tip more than 20 percent unless it is the WORST service. Me and my boyfriend went to the bar while waiting for our table, we ordered 2 rounds of drinks. We love the egg rolls and look forward to it every trip we come down here. We order the egg rolls and the bartender brings out the mozzarella sticks. We tell him, no we ordered the egg rolls. He proceeds to viscously argue with us until another customer at the bar says that he heard us order egg rolls. He later brings us the egg rolls and doesn't take care of us/ignores us the rest of the night. We get a table and ask if we can have a menu after the server talks about the specials/dinner items. Mind you we have been here multiple times on our trip during dinner time and have never had troubles with getting a physical copy of the menu. The server says that the chalk board is the only menu. I then go to the host stand so I can have the full menu with appetizers and other food items. I ask if I can have the full menu and they say in the most condescending tone "YOUR SERVER WILL BRING IT TO YOU WHEN THEY GET TO THE TABLE" I say the server came to the table and he will not give us a menu, I add that we've been here before and they've given us a full menu during dinner. She looks at me like an idiot even though we came not 2 nights before and didn't have problems with a physical copy. MIND YOU we were at the bar and briefly saw THE FULL MENU. After I was talked down to some more, I joined with my boyfriend and promptly left. I can not believe the disrespect and attitude we were greeted with tonight especially when we waited at least 2 1/2 hours. TRAIN YOUR STAFF BETTER OR REPLACE THEM. Being a server I understand the customer is not always right but when we've been to the red bar multiple times and understand how the restaurant works, there should be no reason to make your patrons to feel like that. P.S we had a AMAZING server last week and he appeared as a bartender the other night. I tipped him 10 bucks on a 15 dollar ticket 2 times because his excellent service and customer service. Your whole staff could learn a lot from him. read more

An amazing beach dinner spot!! Parking is limited, but it's a super fun area with other things to do around. Margaritas were A+, appetizers were great as well - the tuna dip and jalapeño poppers were awesome! For my entree, I got the crab cakes, only offered on Fri/Sat nights. And it was AMAZING! Super fresh and great size portion. With fun live music and vibey lighting, the atmosphere is super great, with lots of cool decor. This place is always a stop when in the area. Or sometimes it's worth the drive over to have lunch. It's a fun local spot that has been great for years. The owners have done a great job of keeping it like the old before the fire. However, have done some nice modernization as well on the re-build. The food was spot on and like it always is! It's always a great place to recommend to first timers. Come early to avoid longer waits or find a seat at the bar and have a drink! Do not attempt to drive..there is NO parking. Take the beach shuttle. Dinner menu has like 4 items..I think Fridays they add Crab cakes. They have amazing smoked tuna dip! More authentic Bucca De Peppo, in the wrong place with less service and food. The place itself has an identity problem. You're order manicotti (normally only super authentic Italian places have) and other Italian dishes, while you're looking at the beach and listening to...blue grass music(?). Food My first sign should have been that stuffed jalapeño appetizer came with marinara sauce. Although the jalapeños were tasty the marinara sauce was too light on flavor to balance out the jalapeño. That's why it's normally served with a white sauce. The plates were decent but not great enough to come back for. Service The menu is a chalk board they bring around to you. Cool idea but it would be nice if someone said that, so you don't think they just forgot about you. Where I would give this 4 stars is our waitress kept up with the madness. Do not miss the blackened grouper with the salad and grit cake! Amazing! One person in our party of six ordered the grilled mahi mahi and said she was not jealous of our grouper. She said her fish was excellent too. Waited 2 hours to get in but our server, Matt, was excellent. There is a bar across the street where you can wait for your table. Parking is slim downtown but there is a shuttle that runs between the parking lot and downtown that is free and runs often. Taking the shuttle is easy! If you are in Grayton Beach you should definitely stop by. read more

The red bar is a unique place to eat. Very funky vibe. The drinks are great . Server was fun and friendly. Portions are huge. We got the Shrimp and Crawfish pasta, more than we could eat. He took our drink orders & explained the menu with detail & was quick to answer any questions we had. We ordered: kids chicken tenders, panne chicken dinner & onion rings for an appetizer We have 4 kids and ordered 2 kids meals for them to share. Each kid was able to eat 2 pieces each with an enormous amount of fries to share. The onion rings portion was also huge & we had to take some home. They were fresh & we fullt enjoyed them. The price for the portion was worth it. Our chicken meals were AMAZING! The portions were sooo much & had I known they were going to be, I wouldn't have eaten an appetizer. The chicken was a fried cutlet but was very moist, the mashed potatoes were creamy & the side salad was decent. Stopped into The Red Bar for a quick drink after dinner elsewhere and definitely enjoyed our experience. It was pretty busy, but we found 2 seats at the bar. Extensive cocktail menu and a decent amount of local draft beers to choose from. The ambiance is very clearly why people choose to come here, the entire place is lite with red lightly and lots of "things" hanging on the walls.
