Went in for breakfast on a Saturday morning... loved it so much we came back for more on Sunday! Fast, SUPER friendly service. The place was full but not overly crowded on Saturday morning. I dined on the avocado skillet while my husband tried out the cornbeef hash. The skillet was fantastic. Tiny shredded crispy potatoes with onions and spinach under a fried egg and avocado. YUM. The husband had nothing but rave reviews on the homemade hash. There were too many good things left unordered on the menu, so we decided to come back for Sunday brunch! Bonus points: the patio was open! This time the husband couldn't refuse the fried chicken and pancakes (his take on chicken and waffles) and I tried the grilled chicken panini from the lunch menu. Came here with my mom for brunch this morning after having head to Kingston. The place is small and quaint but the bar with the taps definitely gave it that modern feel, I really liked the atmosphere. I got the avocado skillet breakfast and a side of sausage patties. Those potatoes were ridiculously awesome! Cut thin and seasoned perfectly, they were so yummy with those eggs (perfectly cooked BTW), spinach and avocado. The sausage patties were awesome, too! Obviously homemade (not sure where but they were great!) The extra bonus was this place carried Stumptown coffee; I saw that on the menu while I was picking a place for brunch and that sold me!! I love this place. I used to always take visitors here or to meet friends for brunch, and now it's my go-to take out spot. Whenever my family is up for a treat, we order from the roost. They are very careful about mask wearing and contactless pickup, all while being friendly and warm as always. Everything is always fresh- I love the chicken Caesar wrap, and the burgers are so good! If you're going to refer to a dish as a "skillet," what you serve needs to be cooked. The avocado skillet arrived with a layer of greasy, undercooked French fries, topped with sauteed onions and raw spinach. If I had wanted raw spinach I would have ordered a salad. The salad dressing is too sweet, too. The service is good, and a lot of the food is well made, but some things need retooling. read more

Done so right. That avocado skillet is amazing. Their coffee is great, and they have gluten free choices. Those zucchini pickles!! THOSE WAFFLES WITH CHICKEN!!!!!!!!!!! Best place for miles. They took the closed-down Nibble Nook diner and turned it into something much much better. Clean, cozy, friendly, with great food and drinks too. A lot of the reviews might be from city people but this place is open year round and doesn't charge city prices. It's great to see a dependable place with great food and fair prices open around here after a decade when it seemed like they all overextended themselves and closed down. read more

Finally gave this place a go and it was good, not great. The ham and cheese panini was a little lackluster (and not hot); the pulled pork was pretty good, though it was missing that extra zing (mustard and/or vinegar, maybe?). The freshly grated carrots that topped the side salad were tasty, but we could have done without the mealy tomatoes. The zucchini "pickles" were a really nice touch, and the service was very good. Atmosphere matters, and overall, the setting is a little cold. I don't know if it's the lighting (bright!) or all the hard surfaces, but this place could definitely do with some cozy touches. They're new, so maybe they just need to live in the space a bit. The town is in desperate need of a good lunch place, so we'll be back to give them another try! read more

We were looking for breakfast while visiting for a wedding and we found this gem. Place was small and filled with people and it was not overwhelming with noise. The service was on point, and the coffee and cream were fresh. The menu selection was simple yet very new age. We had the avocado skillet, the pork skillet, and both were absolutely delicious. This place is a Stone Ridge gem! We came in bright an early on Boxing Day (day after Christmas) and the place was PACKED. There were two younger guys working behind the bar and serving all the tables and even though they were clearly rushed, they were prompt and and their service was speedy. The food: The coffee was strong, and the food was delicious. I got the avocado skillet on spinach and potatoes, which was delicious! I wished there was more avocado (since the dish is its namesake) but otherwise, I had no complaints. Went for the first time yesterday and was extremely pleased. Great, fresh local ingredients and super friendly staff. I had the sausage biscuits and gravy which was delicious! The gravy was just the right amount of spicy and I'd love to have the secret to the home fries, they were more like tiny skin-on french fries, with an incredible flavor (was that garlic I tasted?). They were a perfect compliment to the biscuits and gravy. It was nice to see some fresh greens with a light vinaigrette on the plate as well. Boylan's sodas from the fountain, too! As a local resident, it's great to have a really nice place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. This past weekend I had the chicken,potato and spinach skillet, delicious! And I am a freak about my tea, it has to be hot and good quality and it always is. My husband says the breakfast sandwich is the best he's ever had! Lunch soups are always tasty and the BLAT is great too. How does Ty make that burger and pulled pork so juicy? We've been for dinner a couple of times and the 1/2 chicken is always tops and the specials good too. Staff is friendly, accomodating and well informed about the menu. Fresh, high quality ingredients, a clean bright atmosphere and great staff, what more could you ask for? We are so happy with this addition to our town. read more

What a great place! I'm so happy that someone finally saw the potential in the ugly as sin building it used to be. It looks so charming and they've added a porch to the building so you can now sit outside. The menu is great, the food is wonderful, and much of it is local and/or organic, everything is very reasonably priced. Also The owners are really nice. Sorry to say My party of four were less than impressed with this place I've heard rave reviews about. We had simple brunch food and found our meals to all be oily. The worst offense was the perfect well done fries that for some reason they "spray with oil and herbs" to create soggy greasy fries. Don't understand it. The quiche in my opinion was way too thick and custardy wet. The side of greens had to much dressing. Everything seemed ladled in too much oil. Nothing had any flavor. Not impressed. Ambience also not what I expected. Only positive was friendly waitress who smiled and was lovely. read more

Omelette and toast should have been on a kids menu it was so small. Still looking for the home-fries. The home fries were very tiny French fry looking. Hint: real home fries are actually cut potatoes. If your looking to hang out with Manhattanites, it's your spot. This place is not a pimple on the ass of the old Nibble Nook. I grew up in Stone Ridge from 1965 to 1991. It was a great town. Normal down to earth people. What the hell happened. Take the extra time and go to the Kerhonkson Diner or go to a diner in Kingston. I met my friend at The Roost today for breakfast. It was the first time for both of us. We were seated inside immediately. Nick was our server and brought us water very quicklay and asked if we wanted coffee. I got a coffee and Dafne got a Mocha. I was not expecting Stumptown coffee. It was so good. We wanted everything on the menu. Dafne settled on the Pork Chop Platter and I got Two eggs over medium with greens and home fries. And we split a Blueberry Lemon Pancake. I don't usually like a salad with my eggs but this was delicious. The dressing was so light. The home fries are more like shoe string french fries that were perfectly seasoned. Dafne's pork chop was cooked really well and both of our eggs were perfect. The pancake was also full of blueberry's with a nice balance of the lemon. Crisp on the edges but light and fluffy on the inside. There was not a morsel left on either of our plates. The service was attentive and Nick was readily available with fresh coffee and to see if we needed anything. We are already planning on going back next Sunday to try the Chicken Fried Chicken and the Chicken and Waffles! Or the Stuffed French Toast, Avocado Eggs, Steak and Eggs, etc... One thing is for sure. We will be splitting another pancake!! read more

Very big, fresh, and chock full of chicken and bacon. I also appreciated the owner coming by to introduce herself and check on everything. The prices were all very reasonable, ranging from $7 to $10. This is my second time at the Roost. The chicken and waffle is yummy but the amount of chicken is a little smaller than I expected. We also got the biscuits and gravy. The gravy is delicious, but the biscuits are very bready and lack true biscuit consistency--they don't crumble and they lack the buttermilk aroma of a true delicious biscuit. The coffee is yummy and the service is great. But the water tastes terrible. They should really consider buying water--the water has an awful taste and everyone in our party noticed it. read more
