The Roost at Hawks Landing Golf Course

Fantastic for a casual breakfast. Massive outdoor patio with a beautiful view of the golf course and the hills behind it. Very inexpensive and nice people working there. My breakfast was a good size portion. I asked for salsa with my eggs. They brought me some delicious homemade salsa. Highly recommend. Very convenient big parking lot and such a pleasant environment. They have a fairly big menu for breakfast and lunch.

We had nearly 20 of us at The Roost tonight for dinner and everything was spot on! The food was fabulous- all fresh, from scratch including the cheesecakes baked on site (how did we not get a photo). Full bar! Great vibes. And the food was delicious. Highly recommend.

It's our first time visiting Joshua Tree. After driving around the park & enjoying the view for almost 4 hours, we decided to have a nice dinner. Not just burger or Fastfood, someplace where we could sit down and enjoy the food. Found The Roost on Yelp & It didn't disappoint!!! We ate outside facing the golf course & a nice view of the mountains. The food was Great!!! We had Caesar's salad, a full slab of ribs that we split (comes with macaroni salad & beans), vanilla cheesecake to cleanse the palate plus the margarita & the beer .... All for only $50!!! Another plus, our server was very nice!!!

Gorgeous spot and amazing Friday night experience. If you go make sure to call ahead and get a reservation. I went in for my 730 reservation on Friday. Showed up at 715 and they were able to seat and serve me right away. If you go Friday you definitely have to get the prime rib dinner for $30. It was a little pricey but so good! My best meal in the area that weekend. They had an amazing singer and guitar playing there, incredible sunset over the course and the service was quick and friendly. I got the key lime cheesecake for dessert which was the best key lime dessert I've had but was expensive for a the tiny piece I got.

Love eating here. Have had lunch and breakfast here quite a few times. Don't normally do dinner, but we finally did last Friday. Prime rib was awesome. Service was pretty good. The owner is a sweetheart and it's always nice to see an owner in an establishment talking to guests. I saw lots of dishes hitting other tables that looked amazing. Guess I'm gonna have to start coming more for dinner to eat through the menu. Definitely be back.

Not fancy, but homespun and comfortable.

The food was great. The waitress, however, kept wiping her nose and had her hands all over her face. She never once washed her hands.

Good reasonably priced sandwiches. They did a fantastic job rehabbing the old Blue Skies Country Club.

Are they open on Thanksgiving evening?

    No, they are not.

Do you have to have golf membership to dine there?

No, we just went in. I think they like outside diners.

We came on Thursday around 3pm. It wasn't too busy and we got seated immediately. The host and…read moreserver were friendly. We got the cowboy with the tri tip and pork ribs with Mac & cheese and garlic mash. It was more than enough for two people. We also got an extra side of Mac & cheese and garlic mash which was over kill but it was so yummy! So flavorful and you can tell everything was cooked with love. I wish I got pictures but we finished the platter by the time I remembered to take a picture lol. I love the ambiance, all on top with the western theme and even there was live music getting set up. 10/10 would try if you are in Joshua Tree!

What. A.Gem. My…read moredaughter and son-in-law have raved about this place for years. They go every time they are in the Palm Springs area. And, they have been itching to get the wife and I there too. Well... mission accomplished! Initial impression, (do let the exterior fool you), was not overwhelming but I trust their judgement. Glad we did. Rustic, old west vibe grabs you by the poo poo upon entry. Lots of memorabilia, pics of Pappy himself, license plates from all over, as far away from as Canada!!! Excellent menu (wife got a salad, me the chicken sandwich), and both were delicious! Serving sizes are very large to boot. Other items ordered from our group were the Mac and Cheese, (I tried it and it's fabulous), Baby Back Ribs, Smashburger and Cowboy Combo. Those in our party raved about each of them. Service was spot on, especially since we had a group of 9. Indoor stage for nighttime entertainment purposes and an additional huge outdoor seating / dining area with associated stage for those nice desert days. (Not this time... it was well over 100 degrees when we were there). Highly recommended. Definitely a must next visit!
