I can here earlier this week late at night after my flight was delayed. I heard this was the spot to go for late night food because they have an "all day" menu. I ended up ordering the "No Name Burger" and onion rings. Nothing spectacular that I couldn't live without. Wasn't a fan of what of the cheese with this particular combo. It tasted like cheddar instead of Swiss and unfortunately I ordered to go. Their menu has some interesting items on it worth trying I'm assuming. I have to come back because I was told anything off the breakfast menu is legit. As far as staff goes, friendly people, easy location to find, just make sure you don't walk in on the bar side (thanks GPS). I'll have to revisit when I come back and try this place again. read more

Came mid morning on a Saturday, was greeted and asked to wait not blocking the door or entrance to bar, but there isn't really anywhere else to wait. Told wait was about 15-20 minutes. After about 5 more minutes another server told us that that there was a 40 minute wait for food. Menus were dropped, in needed of a good cleaning but the coffee was decent and server made sure our water glasses stayed full. When she pressured us to order, she mentioned food would take 40 minutes. Ended up waiting an hour. Portions are large, restaurant is busy and loud, floors are still greasy and slightly hazardous. I came here for brunch the other day and the service was great, food was great, and the drinks were great. I had a mudslide on the rocks and French toast. My aunt had a spicy Bloody Mary and omelette. Everything was fantastic. I highly recommend giving this place a try! read more

I realized that it has been over two years and decided to update my review.... Yes, I am somewhat of a regular...I'll admit it...but if there is one thing that seems to be consistent...It's The Satellite. Great spot for lunch. I've sat on the bar side as well as the diner side. Service has always been good to outstanding. Food is always good. Breakfast is served anytime. Soups are homemade. Haven't had a bad item yet. Heck, even mix it up a bit. Get some pancakes to go along with your beer....they won't judge you, and it's actually not bad. Some of my go to items??? - The homemade soups, especially the lasagna soup on Wednesday - Grilled pesto and cheese - Any of the burgers - Breakfast sliders - Grilled ham and cheese - jalapeno bacon! - bacon chocolate chip cookies By yourself or with friends, the Satellite doesn't disappoint. read more

Great food. We had the French toast combo and the eggs Benedict. Both were really good. The service was very good too. The restaurant itself needs some help. It's dark and a little worn out. The restrooms were gross but useable. The location was within walking distance of many of the down town hotels. The prices are reasonable except for the chocolate milk that ran three fifty. Longest I've ever had to wait for food. We came in and were told to sit anywhere which shows they weren't really too busy lots of empty tables. We ordered an appetizer and dinner and 45 minutes past and our waitress came over and said our tickets are just about to be up and then 20 minutes passed she came back and said only two tickets then it's ours. We waited another half hour and still nothing so my gf went and asked her if we can just cancel it and go and she said yes there is still a couple more tickets before ours as if she didn't say that a half hour ago. So we sat there for almost 2 hours and no one even refilled our waters. Just wish they would tell people if the kitchen is super backed up so we could've known. read more

I'm visiting for work and saw this diner was rated well. As soon as you walk in either the cook or waitress says hi. There is a very local vibe to this restaurant, which I loved! The waitress, Jill, was so friendly and seemed to really enjoy her job. Also, she was the only waitress on and absolutely killed it. She was running around and it seemed that not one person had to wait long. For breakfast I had a tomato and cheddar omelet...delicious! Would definitely come again. read more

I appreciate a restaurant that serves late into the midnight hour. But, they are so popular, busy and crowded everytime I come that I just visit with the friends I came with and leave about 45 minutes later, which is about the time the staff come to take food orders. If you order drinks, that gets their attention 1st. But if you are underage, or order only a fountain drink you will barely get any attention by the staff. I've come here with friends 7 or 8 times over three years and it has never been any different. I have yet to try the food. I don't know how long I would have to occupy a seat to eat. Used to come here many years ago with friends after a long night of hanging out. First time back in several years and the food is still just as good as I remember. I had a bacon and cheddar omelette with extra crispy hashbrowns. The bacon was cooked perfectly. Not overly greasy or heavy. We got seated quickly but the wait for our food was a little long. We have always been hesitant to bring the kiddos here, now I wish we would have done it sooner! The service is so fast and friendly, our waitress gushed about her kids which made us feel more comfortable. They made us feel like the kids were a priority instead of an annoyance. Thumbs up! We were in town visiting a friend at the hospital. Took her husband and small son to dinner. We mearly picked this place due to the great reviews. Not sure if we picked a bad time or if these reviews are from the late night drunks who like bad service and cold food. It was the 29th of October 2022. They didnt seem to busy but there was one lady waiting tables (we took into account they were short handed) As we walked into the door we were welcome with a big shout accross the diner "Seat yourself but its going to be at least an hour wait". Such a friendly tone too. We sat down at a table, patiently waiting. She brought us waters and walked away. So when she came back to take our order we asked if we could order drinks or if we had to go over to the bar to grab them. Once again welcomed with that friendly tone "it will be faster if you just go get them yourself". So we went next door and ordered our drinks and brought them back to our table super easy and fast. Bar staff was nice... When our food arrived everything was cold, I ordered a club sandwhich which is the only thing getting the 2 stars. We had a cold burger, cold fries, cold chicken fried steak and gravy. Not sure if we would ever go back. I can handle the wait, the rude waitress and the cold food but not all at once. read more

Staying downtown for an overnight trip and remember loving the satellite when I lived here years ago, decided to see if it was still as good and towed my three kids down there hoping they wouldn't kick us out as soon as they saw 3 kids with only one adult! The staff was friendly and helpful! So glad we didn't order room service from the Davenport! This was soo much better and I love the atmosphere! The way the cook took time to make the kids pancakes into cool animals was the topping on the breakfast for me! Need to go back asap! read more

Avoid this place if traveling. We thought it looked cool and would be nice but were treated very rudely . The waitress took our order and we waited for an hour and a half. When I asked where our order was she told me that they are serving 200 people and that I should be patient and that she would take care of my Bloody Mary for the extra long wait. After another 30 minutes our food still did not show and we had to leave. When we received our bill she said we still had to pay for our bloody Mary's bc we were rude and changed her mind!!! Unbelievably horrible service and that waitress clearly needs a day off... wish I had a nicer experience bc the city seems cool. read more

It takes a lot to frustrate me to the point I actually update a review from 5 stars to 1 stars within a few months. My husband works in the restaurant business so I understand those off nights where service may not be great or food may not he great but this instance was bad enough I likely wont be back which sucks because I've been ranting and raving everywhere how this place has the best burger in Spokane. Before I get too into it let me tell u we been back multiple times since the first review and have had multiple issues with service being slow and only one or two servers on during busy periods. Well it was insane tonight. We had to wait about 10 minutes for a menu, then didnt see anyone until right before our food came after the husband had been waiting for 20+ minutes for a refill. I got the same thing I got every other time I been here and this one was made completely different and burnt at that. I ended up giving 99% of my food to my husband who eats everything. After we got our food they DID come around and ask how it was but I didnt want to have to wait another 30 minutes for it to be remade. I thought that was the worst part until I go to the bathroom and they're completely out of TP. If we decide to give this place another chance and that is a HUGE if, it would either be during the day in hope they have better coverage or when we are too drunk to care about the wait or food quality read more

The door guy is rude as heck. He should learn some customer service and how to talk to people. The place is packed but no reason not to allow someone to wise the bathroom while waiting in line.
