Solid brunch / lunch restaurant. Decor is trendy and modern. I come here occasionally for lunch during the week because of how close by it is. This is a really popular place and it's always busy. We usually arrive around 12-12:15pm and there's always a wait for a table so we opt for bar seating. Anyone that says The Shed only excels at brunch needs to try them (or try again!) for dinner! We went recently on a mild wintry Friday night and our party of four (two kids) were seated immediately. For those dining with children in tow, note that they DO have a kids menu with most options in the $10-12 range. They just don't have a printed menu or anything posted online. Our server read off the options like specials. My wife and I both got burgers, though she opted for a veggie burger l, which (very interestingly) was pea-based, a nice departure from the soy/mushroom types. We shared a side of fries and everything was outstanding! Our kiddos split a kids portion of Mac & cheese, which was not only homemade (e.g. not Kraft) but was more than generous enough to easily feed the both of them. Including a round of drinks, our check was under $80 before tax & tip, and we all had a great meal and time out. Service was excellent to boot, and the vibe reminds me of being in a rustic Vermont/New England eatery. We'll be back! read more

Went to The Shed Restaurant for brunch back in the summer. The lot can get busy at times since it shares it with several businesses. We were given a choice to have indoor or outside seating. Since it was a nice day we sat outside where their patio area was. They had tables with umbrellas to block the strong sun rays and the staff was nice enough to adjust the umbrella to make sure we were comfortable. I got the chicken and waffles stack and my husband opted for the buttermilk pancakes with a side of bacon. The chicken and waffles was cooked perfectly and it was served with a side of Mike's hot honey to drizzle on top. The waiter gave warning that the hot honey packs some heat, so if you're not one for spice it maybe best to put a little on at first to see your heat tolerance. We were also given syrup too if you prefer a sweeter topping to the dish. My husband enjoyed his pancakes which was fluffy and delicious. The side of bacon was nice and crisp. Our waiter was great throughout our meal. We will definitely be coming back in the future. read more

So I have been to this location a couple of times and the food and drinks never disappoint. Great customer service always from the minute you walk in you are promptly seated until the time you leave. This spot was definitely a little far from home but we decided to take the drive and found out the hype was real. It's very simple if you are looking for a good brunch spot with delicious drinks and amazing food come check them out. The calamari was delicious very light on the breading which i appreciated. The salmon with Brussels sprouts was a chefs kiss kind of dish because it was healthy but delicious all at the same time. Francesca was amazing she made the experience worth it, she was patient and sweet. Whatever she's getting paid isn't enough. This place is pretty much what you imagine a high end suburban brunch spot to look like and serve. Modern American fare with a trendy decor - it'll do really well in Plainview. The appetizers were decent - fried pickles were good but hot wings were mild at best. Cobb salad was fresh and filling, very well done. Biscuit benedict was a bit much in terms of richness and food but solid. I did enjoy their biscuits and jam however, very reminiscent of a good southern biscuit. Prices are fair and service was good. It's a very popular spot on the weekends so make sure you come early or you're prepared to wait a bit. Will be back. read more

The spicy habanero syrup lived up to its name. It was soooo spicy. The French fries were fresh and crisp, I got both the Gouda and Shed sauce. Both were amazing, I ordered a side of both to take home. I washed it all down with the Shed Lemonade, which was tasty, My husband got the short rib melt, you know I had to try it and it was delicious. I am not a fan of coleslaw but their's for some reason was delicious. He also ordered eggs with cheddar cheese, bacon and pancake with the works. Fantastic! I ordered to go for my team at work this week and let me tell you the food as was the customer service. Between all of us we ordered two lobster rolls, the Cobb salad, the salmon, and the salmon. Everything was so good! We had one small issue with the order that the chips were not included in the take away bag. I called the restaurant and they went above and beyond to make it right. I actually called just to see if I misread the menu and told them it was fine but the manager insisted on making it right. Th Shed's food definitely lived up to the hype. Everything is fresh and homemade. The waffles, biscuits, fried pickles, fried shrimp and home fries were among the best we've had. Not only is the food spectacular, the service provided by Sarah B. was excellent. She was attentive, friendly and professional throughout our entire dining experience. The only caveat was the issue with the air conditioning. It was a very hot day and people were fanning themselves to try to keep cool. While we were only there for a short period of time, we feel terrible for all of the staff and especially the poor kitchen staff who must have been roasting in the back. 2 people in our party were visibly sweating through a portion of their meal. Came yesterday for brunch on a Tuesday, which is amazing. Sat at the bar by myself was greeted instantly by the bartender. I unfortunately didn't get her name. She was super sweet. Told her to chicken and waffles but it seems like too much. She recommended me getting the kids order I said no that's OK. Didn't wanna inconvenience anything. The shed has great ambiance, great food and service. They also have great gluten free options. My wife particularly enjoys their Cobb salad. However, one unfortunate event happened today. Today we ordered to go from the shed and really enjoyed the food as well, but the burger boxes were mislabeled and I accidentally ate a bite of the non-gluten free burger my friend ordered. I have celiac and unfortunately I quickly started bloating. This was despite emphasizing at the time of ordering that I have this sensitivity to gluten. We did inform the store and the manager Barbara was very apologetic and kindly offered to removed the burger off the bill as well as to remake the burger and even offered a gift card to be picked up next visit. It was an unfortunate mistake and we would still eat there again, but let the store know more so it doesn't happen again for us or others. Definitely still highly recommend the restaurant! read more

I believe the manager is named Cassandra and she was incredible, I was in the fence over 2 items and ordered one I didn't end up liking which was my own fault, after asking to take that home and order a new item she came over. She offered to completely compensate for the original meal and wipe it off the check which was an incredibly kind gesture for something that was not even her fault! We've eaten at the Shed numerous times during the warm weather where we were able to enjoy dining al fresco in their inviting outdoor patio. Because I'm immunocompromised we've only eaten outside, and although the indoor space seems very inviting I can't comment on it. The menu at the Shed (Plainview) is somewhat limited, consisting of salads, burgers, omelette's accompanied by phenomenal home fries, and a number of seafood entree's. Although limited the menu is diverse enough to satisfy most people's desires. Some of the dishes I found outstanding were the hummus crudité, omelette's, various salads, and the highlight is the dessert consisting of a churro type waffle accompanied by 3 scoops of ice cream. lThe drinks, as well as the beer & wine selections are outstanding. My only minor complaint is the same that has become very common these days is that many of the servers appear to be new and although personable appear to be somewhat unsure of the menu. One final comment we've only gone for early dinner and we're seated immediately. We have been there 3 times so far this winter - and have been blown away by the food, the atmosphere and the service (have not had better service than with a phenomenal waiter named Kevin - who has waited on us twice). This is an excellent location for this popular restaurant "The Shed." The Shed has two other locations which are in West Sayville and Huntington where I have yet dined. So, what is making this American comfort food restaurant so popular? Is it their all-day everyday brunch menu, fresh ingredients, although I hope most restaurants, I visit have fresh ingredients or is their cultivating vibe? Whitewashed walls, salvaged barn wood and local art makes up the ambience of this restaurant. Outdoor comfortable seating is also available. Now I have only visited this location once to pick up food to go. So, I am guessing this restaurant is all about being there to enjoy the true dining experience. Went last weekend for dinner it's been awhile. Ordered the veggie bowl and added sea bass. Think it could have used some dressing, nourishing yes but light on taste and sea bass was underwhelming. Can't seem to find a winner here for dinner, either this outcome or a heavy greasy sandwich granted I don't eat red meat often. Of course, my hipster radar went off as I was browsing through breakfast spots to try out. Could they get any more hip than with a name like " THE SHED" ? The pictures do no justice to the interior of this place. It draws in an Apothecary-esque magnetism and you can't help but wonder the tremendous potential this place has. The waitstaff are so well curated and perfect for this place which makes me wonder, shouldn't they be the customers ? Twilight zone O_O I digress. I was in for lunch and with my dining buddy MisterBabe, we had to get christened (actually , only I was the one who got christened, my buddy already came here in a prior christening). I ordered the blackened sea bass and judging from the reviews , I had to see for myself how this was NOT as tasty as the other menu items. On a side note, I've been eating and rating fish sandwiches on the down low at fast food spots so this place will probably be in a class of its own. (Check out my popeye's review) First off , thank you Kelly for being our lady server of the day. Hats off to ya. Friendly, helpful, attentive, met all of my dining needs and has a sense of humor (she laughed at our jokes). Second off , the plating was simple but ingredients were premium. We also ordered the Gouda fries and my friend here got the breakfast bowl (since he was feeling abit breakfasty...at 3pm) Alittle cholula goes a long way and that slaw on the fish sandwich was legit ! So damn good I ordered more of JUST the slaw topping. The blackened sea bass tasted great , was grilled just right and I was a happy diner. MisterBabe coined it "THE BACK TO SCHOOL" fish sandwich. Sounds appropriate. Loved The Shed! A group of us were out in Long Island visiting a farm for pumpkin picking, etc. and planned to stop for food afterwards. Checked Yelp and it makes sense this place is at the top of the list! Took about 30 minutes for them to seat us (party of 6 adults/ 2 kids) at ~4:30 PM, but was worth the wait! They brought the kids chalkboards to draw on, which was a sweet touch to the already inviting ambiance and energy of this place. Food was delicious and presented so nicely. Maybe we were just so hungry, but we were ooo'ing and aahh'ing when each dish came out! Iced coffee was so yummy (strong!) just wish there was more coffee and less ice. read more
