I wanted to share a review for the Plainview restaurant "The Shed". We have been there 3 times so far this winter - and have been blown away by the food, the atmosphere and the service (have not had better service than with a phenomenal waiter named Kevin - who has waited on us twice). I know that The Shed has another location (bigger and busier) in Huntington - but we simply cannot get enough of the Plainview spot. My wife is a celiac and they go the extra step to make sure that no food is cross contaminated. Their drinks are phenomenal - and their menu items are creative and well thought out (with generous portions). "The Shed" stands out as a gem in the local dining scene, consistently surpassing our expectations with its exceptional food, inviting ambiance, and outstanding service. From the moment we step through the doors, we are enveloped in a warm and welcoming atmosphere that instantly makes us feel at home. Our dining experiences at "The Shed" have been nothing short of extraordinary, largely due to the exceptional service provided by Kevin, an outstanding waiter who consistently goes above and beyond to ensure our visits are memorable. **(Added note - we made it a point, on our first visit, to let the manager know how much we enjoyed the food and truly loved having Kevin as our waiter... mainly because I believe we should compliment as often as we critique. It was simply a note - not looking for anything... well, the manager followed us out, as we were leaving, to give us a $20 gift card just as her way of thanking us for making mention. She said it made her evening - and would brighten Kevin's as well - and you know what - we keep coming back!) The menu at "The Shed" boasts a delightful array of creative and meticulously crafted dishes, each offering generous portions that never fail to satisfy our palates. Moreover, the drinks served here are nothing short of phenomenal, perfectly complementing every dish and enhancing the overall dining experience. One of my favorite restaurants (Huntington or Plainview). Great setting and décor, excellent menu (which is due for some new and creative items) and incredibly patient and friendly staff (tough crowd dines here, gotta be patient). The outdoor patios are perfect, with propane heaters and blankets for those who need some extra incentive to dine under the natural elements. Every visit I swear that I am going to order something new, but I always stick with the Shed Bowl, a feast of arugula, tiny sweet potato cubes, seeds, little whole mushrooms, roasted chicken, radish and goat cheese that I swap out for blue cheese..so much better ! Every item is a standout, so no need to list the choices of my family. My daughter always sticks with the Shegg Sandwich and loves the fries. The gigantic Bloody Mary, overflowing with a non mayo Cole slaw is a meal in itself..if you like a bold, spicy and robust drink, this is for you. You can't go wrong at any of the Shed locations, go off hours for a less frustrating wait, because you will wait for a table, but you already knew that. read more

Fantastic! I ordered to go for my team at work this week and let me tell you the food as was the customer service. Between all of us we ordered two lobster rolls, the Cobb salad, the salmon, and the salmon. Everything was so good! We had one small issue with the order that the chips were not included in the take away bag. I called the restaurant and they went above and beyond to make it right. I actually called just to see if I misread the menu and told them it was fine but the manager insisted on making it right. I'm still dreaming about the lobster roll it was that good and my team keeps asking to get food from here again! Thanks for the excellent experience! read more

Of course, my hipster radar went off as I was browsing through breakfast spots to try out. Could they get any more hip than with a name like " THE SHED" ? The pictures do no justice to the interior of this place. Judging from the vibe of the plaza and neighborhood, it's a Long Island housewives and mommy haven by day, but I bet , the hipsters roll out and THE SHED comes to life at night! But this was a daytime visit and we're gonna give a boring review of how amazing everything was. No salacious details, nothing off the cuff. But I have to say, this is defintely a spot that belongs in Silverlake and LA. It's got the soul of The Butcher's Daughter and the bar , man that bar is THE SCENE! It draws in an Apothecary-esque magnetism and you can't help but wonder the tremendous potential this place has. The waitstaff are so well curated and perfect for this place which makes me wonder, shouldn't they be the customers ? Twilight zone O_O I digress. I was in for lunch and with my dining buddy MisterBabe, we had to get christened (actually , only I was the one who got christened, my buddy already came here in a prior christening). I ordered the blackened sea bass and judging from the reviews , I had to see for myself how this was NOT as tasty as the other menu items. On a side note, I've been eating and rating fish sandwiches on the down low at fast food spots so this place will probably be in a class of its own. (Check out my popeye's review) First off , thank you Kelly for being our lady server of the day. Hats off to ya. Friendly, helpful, attentive, met all of my dining needs and has a sense of humor (she laughed at our jokes). Second off , the plating was simple but ingredients were premium. We also ordered the Gouda fries and my friend here got the breakfast bowl (since he was feeling abit breakfasty...at 3pm) Alittle cholula goes a long way and that slaw on the fish sandwich was legit ! So damn good I ordered more of JUST the slaw topping. The blackened sea bass tasted great , was grilled just right and I was a happy diner. MisterBabe coined it "THE BACK TO SCHOOL" fish sandwich. Sounds appropriate. Excellent establishment. I see why it's always so busy. I stopped in for lunch with a dear friend of mine visiting NY. We were greeted and sadly down within minutes right before hell broke loose and the massive crowd came in. You can tell people eat them sit and enjoy the environment it's so chill in here. We both ordered the summer salad (watermelon cubed, kale, feta cheese) I added salmon to mines. Also they have hole made southern style biscuits with home style jam absolutely delicious! read more

Mother's Day Brunch. As expected they do not take reservations, but they text you when your table is ready. The meal is always worth the wait, however this location is not quite as cozy as the other two. There are so many amazing options on the menu it is hard to choose. The Biscuit Benefit was an excellent choice. Two eggs poached to perfection with bacon on a biscuit topped with Hollandaise sauce. The Breakfast Bowl was also very good as was the Veggie Bowl. The only down side was then coffee which was awful. The waitress happily took them back and exchanged them for something else. I am not sure if the coffee is always like that or perhaps due to the busy holiday brunch crowd. Overall very good meal, good presentation and friendly and attentive wait staff. read more

The brunch gets a 10/10 for. The French toast is my Favorite and the chicken Caesar salad (foodie tip: substitute the chicken for hot honey chicken if you like spicy) The service is okay, I think the waiters and waitresses are friendly, but the hostess wasn't the kindest during my last visit They don't take reservations, but so far the wait hasn't been too crazy. Who says minimum wait time is 35 minutes and then says it's because people like to stay and hang out. Saying this to a hungry person creates a poor experience and sounds like a failure to manage. The service is all you need to warrant coming here. On top of that the food is absolutely brilliant with a very comfortable and mellow atmosphere. I believe the manager is named Cassandra and she was incredible, I was in the fence over 2 items and ordered one I didn't end up liking which was my own fault, after asking to take that home and order a new item she came over. She offered to completely compensate for the original meal and wipe it off the check which was an incredibly kind gesture for something that was not even her fault! This is an amazing establishment and I can now see why, it's not just the food but the fact that you feel so warmly welcomed. I will absolutely be coming back! read more

Came here on a Saturday afternoon. It was busy - the inside wait was 40 minutes and outside was 20 minutes. We put our name down and went to Starbucks until we were called. After 20 minutes we were called and an inside table was available. Fish sandwich was great, Lobster Roll was ok but had better and Chicken Sandwich was spicy but the server gave us a heads up. Drinks were good. I would definitely come back here again. We started seeing empty tables and less of a wait time after 2:30-3. They have outdoor seating and they do have some shade but it was just too hot for us to sit outside with no fans or cooling mist. read more

We were going to get our order to go but because they were so busy they weren't doing to-go orders. Surprisingly they actually had their outdoor patio open for seating with heaters and blankets were available if you got too cold. So we sat outside and it was really enjoyable. Saturday I went to the shed for brunch. I had been to the Huntington location and wasn't really wowed which was disappointing because I've heard great things. The plainview location changed my mind. We ordered the steak and eggs, chicken and waffles and when we saw gouda fries, we couldn't resist. The steak was cooked so well and they gave a nice serving. I hate when places put a high price on a steak and eggs for a dinky steak. Not here! The amount of gouda(came melted in a dipping sauce cup), they gave for the gouda fries though was slightly on the dinky side, but it really was delectable. Went last weekend for dinner it's been awhile. Ordered the veggie bowl and added sea bass. Think it could have used some dressing, nourishing yes but light on taste and sea bass was underwhelming. Can't seem to find a winner here for dinner, either this outcome or a heavy greasy sandwich granted I don't eat red meat often. Willing to give it another shot, I'm all for keeping the menu concise but think it's too alittle limiting for me or could use a couple of new dishes. read more

I came here for my one year wedding anniversary. Beautiful day, we sat outside. LOVE the vibe here!! Such a cute, beachy, peaceful look. The menu is so cute, brunch and lunch options. The staff sat us right away and we're attentive. Liquor prices were high but how can you not get a cute refreshing drink. Had the fried pickles, pino Grigio and a pork sandwich. Hubby had the chicken sandwich. They even have some golf clubs and balls to play with in the back area for after your dining experience. Definitely recommend, we will be back! read more

I had such a great time here! I went for brunch after a wedding. I ordered a Bloody Mary as my drink. The mix was good and it had a lot of cucumbers that weee seasoned in it. Also a celery too. I had the farmers breakfast which had steak, eggs, hash browns and salad. The steak was good medium and it tasted good. And the potatoes were crispy. The place has a lot of light and windows. First let's start with 1st appearances.... The outside is so pretty and inviting. Upon walking in we were greeted by a very happy hostess who seated us very quickly! One thing I know is when the staff is happy your service will be much better! We chose to sit outdoors and the music selection ranged from Etta James to soca.... Nice job! Upon sitting we we greeted by Adam who was very pleasant, inquired about any allergies and informed us all food is prepared on the premise so if we wanted to change anything on the menus it was possible! Adam went over the menu in detail and gave some recommendations. Overall the food was great and hats off to the bartender who knows how to make satisfying drinks! Loved The Shed! A group of us were out in Long Island visiting a farm for pumpkin picking, etc. and planned to stop for food afterwards. Checked Yelp and it makes sense this place is at the top of the list! Took about 30 minutes for them to seat us (party of 6 adults/ 2 kids) at ~4:30 PM, but was worth the wait! They brought the kids chalkboards to draw on, which was a sweet touch to the already inviting ambiance and energy of this place. Food was delicious and presented so nicely. Maybe we were just so hungry, but we were ooo'ing and aahh'ing when each dish came out! Iced coffee was so yummy (strong!) just wish there was more coffee and less ice. read more

The glasses smelled very raw, water was undrinkable. Entrees I paid close to $200 as I ordered their famous most requested items. 45mins later as the food came out, was not good, spices are absent in this establish. Went here for Sunday brunch, went at 3 o'clock and totally avoided the crowds. It was awesome. The banana French toast is the bomb. I didn't plan to finish the whole thing, but I did because it was so fresh and amazing. They have an extensive menu. Great drinks. There is indoor and outdoor seating. There is ample parking. The chicken sandwich is INCREDIBLE! The fried pickles are so good you eat them like potato chips. The service was friendly with a smile.

The Shed - more like The Shred!! The place got me doing 50-50s on handrails with a skateboard! I ordered the chicken and waffles and I must say - the price was well worth it! It contained a hot habanero honey that's can be drizzled (at your caution! It is very hot!!) on top of the chicken and combined with the maple syrup had a wonderful sweet and spicy flavor! I also tasted the shed Fries and it was exquisite with the horseradish drizzle! The service was quick and our waiter was very responsive to our requests. I ordered a lemonade and while it had lemon, it was balanced out with sugar which made it more sugary than sour - 4.5/5. Not our first time in the area but first time to the restaurant and the design and decor was definitely top notch! Waitress was very nice and helpful with explaining the menu; recommendations were given and we definitely took them into consideration. We picked what we wanted and were served quite quickly and that I truly love. Food was delicious and so was the dessert. I recently enjoyed a late lunch here with my coworker while on business on Long Island. The atmosphere is very garden-to-table with a farmhouse kitchen aesthetic. It has a warm feeling about it, which I enjoy if it's done well, and The Shed definitely does this well. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. Our lunches were very fresh and well prepared; excellent ingredients. This may sound odd, but I will judge restaurants based on their coleslaw; you can easily tell who takes their coleslaw seriously, and the style served was great. Super cute place! Located in a little plaza with ample parking. When I went I was told there was a 45 mins wait but were were taken in within 20 mins (I beat the lunch crowd). Def suggest coming in before 11:30 if you'd like to be seated at a faster rate. I have not been to their other locations but my friend likes this one at plainview. It's big enough to not feel make you feel claustrophobic and adds just the right amount of coziness. I think the service is wonderful. I forgot her name but my server was so kind to me that day. Had a dry throat so she got me hot water and lemon and made sure to bring a little pitcher of hot water + kept refilling. I just took off stars because the food was okay. It's visually beautiful but there was an odd lack of salt in everything I had (and I barely eat salt as it is). I wish there was more seasoning in the Mac and cheese (it was quite bland). Maybe it was just a bad day? Or the dishes I specifically got were just served that way...I'd give the place another go or even try another location. read more

We ended up getting our food 12pm. 1hour wait for our food and people came in after us had finished their food and left before we got our food. So ridiculous and no applogies for the long wait.
