Came here for an early weekday dinner with two kids! Staff was very nice and friendly. There was no wait when we got there and we were promptly seated. But when we left, there was a line outside. This is a nice casual restaurant, perfect for an anytime meal. The food is all delicious and fresh! The waiter will come to table and tell you all the fresh menu items for the day. We had been wanting to come to The Shed for quite some time. The wait times were discouraging and they don't take reservations. We finally made it here on a late Saturday night. This establishment has many gluten free options on their menu. One of my daughters has celiacs disease and is very sensitive to cross contamination. So no we took the chance for a double birthday celebratory dinner. Enri was our server, I really wanted to try their Bloody Mary and he said it was spicy, so I opted for the Farmers Gin and it did not disappoint! It was fresh and delicious. I had the Caesar salad with blacked sea bass-OmG scrumptious and cooked to perfection. My birthday girls had aged burgers (one on a gf bun). We also had a side of the gf fries! The sides of slaw were also tasty. No complaints from both girls! As one of the premier breakfast / brunch spots on LI, The Shed is really good, not great. The food is the selling point. The blueberry biscuits are a must try. I can't think of any other breakfast starter that can rival it. The atmosphere is super trendy, but it all gets lost when they seat people on top of eachother. They have tables so close in proximity that you might as well be a part of the conversation to the tables next to you. Not to mention, they have a serious fly problem. Not mind blown, just good for the juicy chicken parts. There were a few drier bites. The waffle didn't have much thought put into it. If it was tastier and crunchier, it definitely would have elevated the dish. The short rib sandwich was amazing. Flavors were on point. I would order that again. Came here with a friend for dinner. We have both been to the other locations for brunch, never for dinner. We both ended up getting chicken and waffles. So kind of dinner but still brunch. It was a full Belgian waffle cut in four, and then four big pieces of chicken. It came with spicy honey. Our waitress also brought out hot (temperature) maple syrup. It was delicious! We finally had brunch at The Shed after hearing wonderful things. I loved it. A 40 minute wait was only 15 minutes. Our waitress, Victoria, was very sweet. Had a late lunch yesterday with a friend, my first time, her 3rd or 4th. It's a very attractive place, bright and open. Our server introduced himself, and just getting normal water was having to answer like 5 questions about the kind of water we wanted, with ice, no ice a little ice, sparkling, flat, lemon, no lemon? I got the blackened cod sandwich, not too spicy, another 1/2 dozen questions, my friend got the eggs Benedict. Her home fries were burnt to a crisp (you could have broken a tooth). My fish was tasty, but my 3rd bite had a big bone. The side of cole slaw was very good. I think 3 or 4?different wait staff came over to ask us how everything was, afterawhile it felt intrusive, let the customer just eat in peace. My friend said they are very busy on the weekends, I guess not so much at 5pm on Monday. They brought my friend another order of home fries prepared better, I brought my sandwich home for my husband. I don't know if I'd go back, I should have gotten the eggs, I think they do that better than the fish. It was priced I'd say 'moderate'. All in all, we both left very disappointed. You can't eat ambiance, the food has to shine. And is this what service is like in 2025? Either they ignore you, or don't let you just sit and enjoy your meal. read more

We went to dinner at The Shed while on Long Island on a business trip based on Yelp reviews. This place was amazing. I hade a double meat cheese burger which was over the top good. I asked for medium and it came out medium. I ordered fries to go with it and there were enough for a small army in addition to Cole slaw and a pickle. Nic ordered French Toast, home fries and bacon. She said it was the best French Toast she had ever had. The syrup was served warm. The 4 slices of bacon were crispy and the home fries were outstanding. Attention to detail seems to be a hallmark for this restaurant. The service was also very attentive and the food came out in a reasonable period of time. The Shed is definitely worth a visit. We will absolutely go back on our next trip to LI. read more

However...I got the banana bread pudding for my daughter's birthday and have to say this is a NO GO. I don't recommend it at all - too hard overall, bland, dry and not very tasty overall. We love The Shed in Huntington so we were excited when they opened a new location in Plainview. We came a bit later on a Sunday (around 2PM) and the wait was only 20 minutes. They take your name and number on a tablet and text you when your table is ready. The hostess does not take you to your table instead the table is cleaned and has menus available by the time you arrive. The menu is small but everything they do is done well. Our waiter was great and attentive. I had the figgin' fresh which was made with fig vodka and apricot. Very good. For my meal I had the make your own omelet which while yummy was missing the tomatoes I requested. The hashbrowns were yummy and the sweet potato fries were fresh. They do not rush you out of here, which is nice. In the warmer months there is outdoor seating which will help with the wait time inside. They do not take reservations so show up, get your name on the list, and hope for the best. They are also a bit pricey but for a good lunch with excellent drinks I can't complain. read more

If you go during brunch time, I recommend expecting a 30min-1hr wait. Everything we got was great, including the dishes and the cocktails. The Cold Brew was VERY overpriced ($7) but we didn't think it was good compared to other cold brew. We have been to the Shed Restaurant in Huntington where we had Brunch. So to say the least the Plainview spot had a lot to live up too in terms of food. It did not dissapoint. We started off with the Fried Pickles which i forgot to take a picture of but they were very good. We got the Chicken Sandwich, Gouda and regular shed fries, short rib melt, and a couple of the bowl options they bad. Everything was very tasty and would totally order it all again when we go back. Had brunch today, on their second day since opening. Sat outside on their large open patio, which was wonderful on this sunny Fall day. Staff were friendly , service was excellent and food was spot on. I had the breakfast bowl, which at first seemed like it was in a smaller bowl than anticipated, but ultimately was a good portion and delicious. Coffee was replenished on a regular basis, and I enjoy a bottle of water on the table, which was provided. Patio is larger than the outdoor seating in their Huntington location. I have been to the shed in Huntington several times and I've always been happy with it. However, the Plainview location was another story. We found a really long hair in my eggs Benedict. We asked for a manager to which they offered to make a new one, however, I had already lost my appetite. The most comical part of the experience was I was given a $15 gift card which doesn't even cover the cost of the plate (16.95, not including tax) or the ice coffee I ordered. We repeatedly asked why we could not be seated at the empty tables - and were told by the hostess that they were saving the tables in case a four person party came. I've never experienced being denied a table at a half empty restaurant in case another party showed up. They don't take reservations, so prepare to wait if you have a large table. However, we only had a table for two, so we opted for bar seating since that was available (no wait!!). We quickly sat down and ordered with the bartender. I got the shegg sandwich and my mom got the avocado toast. I got the shegg sandwich before, but it was just too good that I had to get it again. I also think it's a good portion of food for the price! It's the perfect amount of savoriness from the salty bacon and eggs and sweetness from the jam. And the crunchy toast is always top tier.
