Initially we went to the new Westbury location but they were still working with workers spraying and cleaning the outdoor seating area. The inside had a sign that they were training. So we went to the Plainview location and so glad we did. Went here for some nice outdoor seating during a stretch of nice weather forecasted with low humidity and warmth. The ambiance is nice and welcoming with good spacing between tables. Every table was under an umbrella or awning. Service was fast and friendly. Food selection was wide and tasty. We had brunch so we ordered Brioche French toast (which was HUGE!!!), avocado toast with eggs, shed burger, eggs in the garden and chicken and waffles. In addition we had fried pickles and sweet potato fries for the table. Everything was delicious and no complaints. Portions were reasonable and presentations enticing. We brought our puppy and there was no issues at all. We were given a corner table with ample room for him to move around a little without disturbing other patrons. Stopped by the Shed to get a meal for Sunday Brunch. The place is beautiful with inside and outside seating which is needed with the volume of people coming in. We had to wait 45 minutes for a table but that is to be expected showing up at 11. The food was ok, I felt for more seasoning on the dishes. All the food seemed to be missing a flavor boost. I was also a bit disappointed by the service. Out server came by 3 times on his own; to take the order, bring food, and give the check. I had to ask for more water and coffee several times. Stopped in on a weekday for an early lunch. Two people at 12:15 and we were quoted a 15 - 20 minute wait. Luckily there were seats at the bar so we grabbed that. Bartender was super sweet and had several recommendations. The bar is super cute with books be liquor bottles both on the shelves. The cocktails were inventive and well presented. Group of six. I am focusing this review on my meal, although a couple of people I took to dinner were also underwhelmed. I have eaten at all Shed locations multiple times. This time I ordered a brunch dish, Biscuit Benedict. The preparation was lazy. The eggs were fried, not poached. The hollandaise sauce was just okay but slathered on in such volume that I had to scrap most of it off. A couple of other guests were underwhelmed, notably the chicken sandwich and fish sandwich. My son go the chicken and waffles (kids menu) that didn't come with the spice sauce that the adult version came with and they said it was an up charge. Looking for a midway point for lunch between friends, we got a recommendation for The Shed. Located in Country Pointe shopping center, it conveniently near the highway. Good amount of parking. Not very large with decent number of tables inside but definitely more tables out on the patio. It happened to be a beautiful November day but blustery so instead of a 1/2 hour wait for a table inside we ate outdoors. Definitely needed a hair tie. There is music playing outdoors so hard to have a conversation if you are sitting near the speakers. There are umbrellas on the table for shade. A small group of friends and I did outdoor dining here. The set up was lovely and interior was spacious, with white brick walls and beautiful artistic mural of LOVE LIFE. There were quite a few promising choices on the menu, so I had a tough time deciding between Glazed Salmon or Chicken and Waffles. I almost never go with the chicken, so surprised even myself when I picked that dish. This consisted of 3 large pieces of fried chicken, 4 triangles of waffle on a heavy duty skewer, all sprinkled with powdered sugar, along with a side of Habanero honey. The chicken was wonderfully crispy, succulent, and juicy. The waffle was fluffy and light. I got to try the Glazed Salmon, made with sweet mustard, which came with salad including brussel sprouts, sweet potato, and shallots. It was an impressive looking and generous piece of salmon, perfectly cooked, delightfully tender, flaky, and well seasoned. The accompanying salad was also tasty, with fresh vegetables and paired well with the sauce. I preferred this dish, so in the future I will not go with the chicken. I also was able to sample the fried pickles, which were satisfyingly crunchy and quite flavorful. They were actually kind of addicting, especially with the creamy Ranch sauce. For dessert, I had some of my friend's bread pudding with chocolate ice cream. This was served with yummy brown sugar nut crumble and was absolutely delicious! I have visited both Plainview and West Sayville. The Plainview restaurant has a very adorable outdoor patio space that is equipped with umbrellas. The cocktails and food are never disappointing. If you show up looking for outdoor seating with a party of three, you're screwed. Tables for five or more on one side and a whole side of tables for two. Maybe three tables in the middle row for three or four. Can't add an extra chair to the twos, it seems. One table for six remained empty as we waited thirty minutes and stayed empty all while we ate. The food was good, although a little pricey. The waitperson was attentive throughout. I had some leftovers to go and asked for some extra tartar sauce. Since I got up early and drove to Nassau County, my wife wasn't watching me like a hawk so I ordered Brioche French Toast. Topped with warm bananas, this is just what my doctor prescribed. My wife ordered eggs whites and something, I wasn't paying attention. It's Breakfast and Lunch, one meal covers two daily spots. I say make it fun?? Sitting outside, it's not too hot and I see the backside of new townhomes built. This entire area has been redeveloped, this mini outdoor mall is a nice place to shop and dine. Our food comes and I'm in the zone. Hot Brioche French Toast cooked very well. Our waiter? He pretty much abandoned us, we both would like more coffee. I flag down another waiter who I see is hustling tables, he pours us more coffee. I had the same issue with paying the bill. We have visited The Shed in both Huntington and Plainview several times. They never disappoint. The vibe here is so relaxed and we love the music that's played. Everyone has always been super friendly. If we had to choose, we would prefer the Plainview locations as it's more open and not as cluttered as the other location we've been to. For drinks, we had one of the IPAs and The Shed Lemonade. I enjoyed The Shed Lemonade but wished the glasses were a little larger. One of the littles had a watermelon lemonade which was really delicious. For food, we started with the Calamari and the Shed Wings. The wings were spicier than I though they would be but still were nicely fried and had good flavor. The Calamari came with a good sauce and also had a good crisp. The adults had the Cobb Salad and the littles had a Grilled Cheese with fries and Chicken Tenders with fries. I heard no complaints. This spot was bustling the entire time we were there on a Saturday afternoon. There was a long wait time so we ended up eating at the bar with no wait necessary. I had chicken and waffles with a spicy maple syrup. The waffles were nicely crisp. The chicken itself was seasoned well and moist. The service was great and our waiter was very nice. My friend and I were so busy talking that we forgot to look at the menu. Tip: if there is a long wait for a table, you can go straight to the bar and eat there. This is dependent on how many people are with you and how many seats are open at the bar. I went for brunch to catch up with some friends and it was such a cute restaurant! It was my first time in this area and it was worth it. I got there a bit later than my friends and the staff was so friendly when I got there. It's tough that they don't take reservations, so one of my friends had to go to the restaurant about an hour before the rest of us to put her name down. Once we started eating, I understood the craze! We first started with cold brew coffees and they were what you'd expect from a cold brew. I had the strawberry smash drink and it was so good! I was hesitant because ginger beer and be overwhelming if not balanced properly but it was delicious. We started with fried pickles and they had the perfect crunch to them and the pickles didn't get soggy. I got chicken and waffles and omg the spicy habanero honey was so delicious!!!! I didn't think it was too spicy, but I also can handle a good deal of spice. I would definitely be back. Today, we decided to get the breakfast bowl and Belgian waffle for brunch. The breakfast bowl tasted extremely hearty and healthy, which we loved and the portion size was great. The Belgian waffle was pretty average and you can get it at a cheaper price at any other restaurant. Would be great if you can choose your fruit option, but it comes default with blueberries. The service was pretty good considering that the wait time was estimated to be around 25 minutes and we were seated within 10 minutes. It did seem like we were rushed out of the restaurant where the server picked up my plate before I was even finished eating! Had to ask him to leave it in front of me. Crazy because we weren't even in the establishment for more than an hour. Ambiance was good with lots of people there during brunch hours on a weekend. Seemed even more busier than usual probably because of Labor Day weekend. They had pretty good soundtracks playing as well, which I particularly enjoyed. My family and I enjoyed a delicious lunch here yesterday. We had not been to this part of Plainview before, much less dined in this shopping center. Our 1st impression of the area was how nice and attractive this center was. It reminded us of being in Texas and that modern farmhouse design that many folks know from Chip & Joanna Gaines's TV shows. We arrived around 2:30PM and the place was packed. We're guessing that was also at least partly due to this being Christmas week and kids being out of school, professionals taking time off, etc. Upon entering, we were told by the greeter that it would be about an hourlong wait for a table for our party of 3, so we opted to dine at the bar where there were 6 seats available down at the end. The bartender greeted us immediately, was friendly, and gave us menus without delay. We noted the interior was super bright and roomy and generally attractive and well kept. The bar area was no different and we appreciated the simple yet classy way in which the bar shelves were styled and how well everything was organized and maintained. For lunch, I ordered the Shed Burger with Fried Pickles as a side (it's in their Appetizers section on the menu) while my wife had the Veggie Protein Bowl and our son had the Chicken & Waffles. We all enjoyed our food immensely. My burger was cooked to a perfect medium rare and was accompanied by a small bowl of coleslaw and a pickle wedge. The burger was delicious even without adding bacon or any other special sauces in addition to what they already had on the burger. While the burger was pretty simple, it was one of the better burgers I have had in a while. The bar staff were attentive throughout and pleasant the whole time. We have nothing less than good things to say about our experience and will definitely be back and/or check out their Huntington location next time (they also have a 3rd location in West Sayville). read more

4.5 stars -- what better way to start off Christmas weekend than with brunch?! Came here at around 12 pm on a Saturday with my boyfriend and friend, & we only had to wait a few mins to be seated. The restaurant was spacious but busy for weekend brunch. Between the 3 of us, we decided to share 3 different dishes, so we ordered the skillet mac and cheese, chicken and waffles, and the chocolate chip pancakes. The mac and cheese was by far one of my favorites, which was a pleasant surprise! I usually find mac and cheese to be too rich and heavy, but this was a perfect balance of savory flavors without being too heavy. I also really liked the chicken and waffles (the habanero honey is YUM). The chicken was really delicious & not dry, but the waffle was nothing to really write home about. Kudos for the presentation though - it made sharing really easy! As for the chocolate chip pancakes, they were HUGE and had a generous amount of chocolate chips! Definitely preferred the pancake over the waffle in this case, but I'd still be willing to try the stand-alone waffle dish next time! Drinks were also really good - I enjoyed the watermelon.
