We stopped here on our way back from Yellowstone for dinner with the kids. We took a seat outside as that was the only seating available. The food was good and service was pretty good after getting off to a slow start. They were obviously pretty busy. We enjoyed our food. Their portobello burger was one of the best I've had in a long time. My daughter had a salmon sandwich, which she really liked. Everyone else had nothing but good things to say about the food. The only thing that marred our experience was there was either a server or busser outside talking to a couple that were seated behind us and he was dropping the f-bomb A LOT. We probably wouldn't have minded terribly, but he was loud and we had our kids with us. There were also other people outside waiting to be seated that could hear him. This is something that should be addressed by management as it just shows a lack of professionalism. Other than that, keep up the good work. I came into this restaurant thinking it was just going to be your average pub, but WOW! This was probably the best burger I've ever had. There was so much flavor. The fries were great too, and so was their fry sauce! They have a variety of other options on their menu. For dessert we ordered the chocolate cake, because everyone else seemed to be ordering it. It was huge! The place itself has a casual ambience, with tables inside and outside. We came as a party of 5 on a Wednesday night, and we were seated after about 10 minutes of waiting. Okay, I like to think of myself as a foodie with all the places I have traveled around the world while in the Marine Corps. My wife and four kids have very high expectations when it comes to burgers and chicken burgers especially. Well, we have finally settle here in Idaho, and it was my birthday today. So I wanted to find a really good place, and SnakeBite did not disappoint. We were able to make reservations, though we came early enough in the day not to worry. The service was spectacular. They made sure our kids were perfectly happy, and catered to their little needs. The burgers we got were just like a picture from an advertisement. Presentation was amazing and the burgers tasted even better. I had the Rocky Mountain Burger, my wife and son had the Cowboy Burger, my daughter and other son had the Cowgirl Chicken Burger and my littlest had the quesadilla from the kids menu. All of which was met and devoured graciously and delightfully. The waffle fries were amazing with it all as well. My wife got the Salad as her side and was extremely satisfied with the size, the dressing (house ranch) and then she helped my daughter with her fries. The ambiance is relaxed, tidy, clean, and you aren't sitting on the lap of the table next to you like many restaurants. Today I had lunch at The SnakeBite Restaurant and was super disappointed to find out they will no longer allow modifications to their menu items. I was told that it is too complicated for kitchen staff and it "backs up the kitchen" when modifying menu items. For 8 years or so, I've been a happy customer to this establishment. Every time I order the Grand Teton Burger without mushrooms. Never do I order something else because it's my favorite burger and I never felt the need to "branch out" and try something new. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" and I stick to that when ordering the same item. Though I understand we live in a world with extremely picky eaters and a thousand "dietary restrictions" mine is simple, I'm allergic. I really can't have mushrooms, it's not a preference. The staff at the restaurant refused to make my sandwich the way I requested so needless to say, I won't be going back. Note that I don't say it as a threat to get my way, I just simply don't want any other burger/sandwich if they can't hold the mushrooms back. read more

The two stars come from the iced tea. The place looked good, decorated well and pretty busy for a Tuesday afternoon. THEN my waitress showed up. Before she even seated me and my son , she was rolling her eyes as if she prejudged us by our appearance. We were seated and served our water and tea. I asked a very simple question (I thought) about two salmon sandwiches I saw on the menu, a "Middle Fork Salmon" and a "South Fork Salmon". She walked up just as I saw the titles and asked what the difference was (thinking this was two different tasting fish but was BLASTED with her response of, "They are totally different, did you even read the menu?" As she walked away. On her next pass to the kitchen I tried to stop her for a clarification of taste or just the prep, she didn't even slow down for the answer of "Nope, they both taste like fish." That was it for me and I offered to pay for the tea and walked out... first time in my life I have felt so unwanted by waitstaff that I was willing to walk. I vote with my dollars (that I work hard for) and apparently she didn't want them enough to treat me with any decency. Her loss, I am usually a very good tipper when service is good. I spent my dollars at a restaurant down the road. Ironically enough as we were still talking about this waitress, our new waiter (down the road) asked, "Was it by chance a short red headed waitress, that sent you walking?" I guess we aren't her first customers to treat poorly. read more

The food was pretty good. We had a large party, about 11. The waitress Mercedes I think was her name was very rude. She was very upset with her life as it seemed by her body language. Shoving chairs around to get our table set up. She hardly spoke and when she did she came off as impatient and irritable. We were very polite with her saying thank you for anything she wound do and she couldn't even say anything but "mhmm" - she made me uncomfortable and if I hadn't been with my kids and family I would have left. We searched best burgers in Idaho Falls and Snake Bite was an option. I ordered the Cowboy Burger, my friend ordered the Blue Snake Burger. Both were fantastic! The waffle fries were so good and I'm not normally a fry sauce person, but theirs has secret ingredients that make it really tasty! In addition to several rooms for seating in the restaurant, they have four outdoor tables with awnings and umbrellas. The hot chicken salad isn't spicy, but the grilled chicken, mushrooms and onions had a very nice flavor. I also appreciated the mixed greens. If you need to pay for fry sauce, work it into the price of your food. Forcing guests to pay "cash only" creates ill will. The snakebite is a go to however, their listing says 11am-9pm but they close the main dining room from 3-5. I cannot understand this. I walk into a business at 3 and they turn me away because they don't have seating during arbitrary hours. And this is on a Saturday! So I took my money across the street. I could have spent it at snakebite but they have too much money and can turn customers away. This makes me not want to give snakebite any of my money. It's solid food most times but it's not so great I'll go out of my way. This seems to be a thing in idaho but in downtown idaho falls you should not be turning people away. Be open or be closed. It's a shame because I did not want Mexican, but they were open and welcoming, and I enjoyed my meal. So that may be where I go in the future to avoid snakebites complicated personal schedule. read more

We were driving pass Idaho Falls and needed a place for lunch. After reading great reviews of this place, we decided to give it a try. It didn't disappoint us and did have good food. Honestly, I wasn't that impressed. This is definitely not the best restaurant in town like some people claim. And on top of it the owners are way too cheap for me to want to give them my money. No credit cards? Ok. Paper napkins?! Okayy....? PAYING $1 FOR A SIDE OF SAUCE after paying extra for fries?! Wtf!!? The food was flavorful but nothing special. The best thing of the night was the fries. My mom and I devoured them. $7 for fries is a little extreme but they were fancy and a big plate so at least there's that. We also got the lobster and seafood ravioli. The sauce was watery. It was good but I've had much better. I was bummed because that dish was why we wanted to go. We love lobster ravioli. And we got the shrimp tacos with the "famous" salad. The salad was absolutely nothing special. It didn't even have dressing in some places. The cranberry relish was good though. The shrimp taco was better with the lime. They were better then the ravioli but honestly the fries were still better. They had good flavor but I live in Southern California so it's unrealistic to thing they'd be able to compare to fresh seafood tacos in Cali. They were ok, but nothing to write home about. We were really shocked because the second we sat down our waiter asked what we were going to order within a minute of us being sat. So it didn't start off on a great foot, but as the dinner went on he became nicer and less rushed--maybe he was overwhelmed with the volume of tables he had. The hostess was super nice. read more
