My friends and I love the spot and we come here often as it's a short walk from my college. They have a wide variety of food on their menu and I always leave feeling satisfied and ready for the day! Food: They have plenty of healthy options and I love trying new things on their menu. Some of the many items that I've ordered and enjoyed include the hummus quinoa bowl, kale soul bowl, the chick-a-bowl, the vegan avocado wrap, and the pitzer switzer panini. The vaginator is also a very earthy decision and the almond butter really adds some depth. Ambiance: The location is super convenient for me and it's next to a Trader Joe's that I enjoy shopping at anyways. It's a bit small on the inside, but they also have outdoor seating and delivery options. It is a bit loud, so this might not be a great place to do work, but it's a nice place to just eat and chat with friends. Service: Everyone that works here is super nice and tries to get your food ready as fast as possible. My only concern is that the majority of employees are men, so I think it is a bit disproportionate in terms of gender representation, but I have never had a negative experience with any of the workers. I've been here a few times and honestly the juice is amazing but the service is hectic and confused. I've used this place to order meals for a meeting and I've come in several times on my own. The line is always out the door which is hard to get buy because there's so little room. I order ahead usually to avoid this and the wait, but I'm not sure why because it's never ready. I ordered 20-30 minutes ahead today thinking they would be wondering where I was. I got there and the girl behind the counter was less than helpful. Seemed confused when I said I ordered online. Claremont natives taut The Spot as the healthy spot. It's a small, dingy place. The Spot seems like it should be located by the beach instead of besides a Trader Joe's. The line was slow, but the staff was attentive. They have acai and pitaya bowls, a huge menu of smoothies, and sandwiches, salads, healthy pizza, and wraps. After hiking, I wanted a wrap. I selected the spicy protein wrap with shredded chicken, sauce, lettuce, tomatoes... and when the item came out, it was four lettuce wraps. I was so disappointed! I know that "protein wrap" might mean a carb-less wrap, but there was no indication of this on the hand-written menu. It was the second wrap on the list so it was not distinct from the others. No, I didn't exchange my food. I felt kind of bad, thinking that I had made a mistake. With that said, the wrap wasn't very good. It felt like I just paid $11 for a bag of chips (or you could get whole fruit) and a bunch of canned chicken on top of lettuce. I had quite an interesting experience at The Spot today. After visits frequently in the past with less than wonderful service, I stopped going to the spot. I received an email offering 50% off to try The Spot again. So I decided to take them up on the offer and try one more time. I decided to take out lunch today. I ordered food for three people. Within five minutes, I received the panini I ordered. So far, so good. Then I received the wrap I ordered. And they acted like my order was complete. I mentioned that I was still waiting for my pizza. They said "oh my gosh, we completely skipped over it. We will start it now". I thought how long can a tortilla pizza take. After waiting about 15 minutes, my pizza finally came out. So I'm the end, I was left with a pipping hot pizza and a stone cold panini. If you roll it up then you can kind of pretend like you're eating a burrito, but some kind of weird California hippie burrito. The café is pretty good about serving a few dishes without animal products in them, and fresh juices. I've been to this place a couple of times, decided to give it a go on the juice cleanse they have. My first experience (1 day cleanse) was great. A year later decide to go for the 3 day, let me tell you it is not cheap. I spent about 95 dollars for 5 juices a day plus water flush(they had 10% coupon for online orders). It is recommended that you pick up the juices daily so I did. First day was great juices tastes good and fresh with the exception of one just because I'm not a fan of ginger, however when I went for my second day 3 out of the 5 juices tasted awful. I reached out after the first juice I tried that tasted awful, they stated they would replace it. I taught to myself no big deal it's one juice. When I got to opening the third one in a row that tastes and smelled bad I called and spoke to an employee and told her it must of been made incorrectly they do not taste anything close to the ones I had yesterday throwing my hole day off. It was 2PM and all I had consumed were two juices so I had to eat due to me being at work and not being able to immediately go in to get them all replaced. The employee stated they would give me a call back when I called for the second time to tell them a couple of the juices were bad. I never received a call back but when I picked up the third day later that day I let the cashier know the situation and they stated they could not do any kind of reimbursement for the juices I didn't drink just replace them. I payed for a three day cleanse, not a one day yes and one day no cleanse. I'm upset at the fact that I specifically asked for a manager to call and they had the same rude employee from on site call five minutes after I left. I wasn't asking for all my money back, I asked for compensation on the juices I didn't drink or even a gift card. It actually would not of escalated if someone gave me a call back when they said they would and if the girl there didn't try to talk to me about the situation across the counter where customers were sitting that is what really pissed me off. I was considering the 4 week one time a week program ($130) but after this service I won't ever return. I understand that the juices are made daily and that they might SLIGHTLY taste different but they were not tolerable to drink even let a co-worker try them to give confirm I was not being weak minded about the fact it was my second day on only liquids. read more
