Been wanting to try the pizza here for a while, but the hours they are open have made it difficult. It was decent but it was not as good as the hype. Maybe I built it up in my head too much, but I would not put it up there with the top tier pizzas. The crust was really good which is probably the best thing going for this pizza. The sauce and overall taste was overpowered by the basil. This was even after I took off the extra basil they sprinkle on top as the sauce has a lot of it mixed it. Was not a deal-breaker but just an FYI on that. I debated between a 3 and 4 for this place but just didn't feel they were quite on the level of a 4. If we are using the Portnoy scale I would give them a 7.1. read more

The level of care that this gentleman puts into his pizza--and everything else he serves-- is something else. This is hands-down one of the very best pizzas in the Boston area. Thin, crunchy, flavorful sourdough crust, a bright, delicious tomato sauce, and just the right amount of cheese. You can tell the ingredients are top notch. Most pizzas become less appetizing as they cool-- that's when the quality of the ingredients shines through. This one is delicious from the first bite to the last. A truly elevated pie. This was about a week ago and I'm never ordering from there again - and I didn't even get to eat the food. Not that they care. But, what had happened was... my order was taking forever, well over an hour, and GH support said they're using their own driver and are on the way. Ok, no big deal, I wasn't really upset about the time, just wanted to know that it was happening - I had been a big fan of this place for years and was looking forward to this meal. Now, I've had repeated issues with GH drivers where they never let me know they arrived and leave my food outside on the ground in a high-traffic area for residents and pets, bugs ... whatever, food doesn't belong on the damn ground. So because of these issues, I have delivery notes mentioning there's no tip if food is left outside. It's not meant to be so much of a threat, I just appreciate communication... especially when I'm hungry. So, another half hour goes by and I call Square Deli directly. The girl who answered asked me to hold and then some guy picks up sounding like he's already got it out for me - I was confused by his attitude when I didn't have one. He tells me their driver called and tried the building intercom but I didn't answer. My phone *never* rang, for whatever reason, and when I said that he just seemed to get more upset. So I go out front to find my food cold like it had been sitting there for a long while, oh, also the note attached to the bag. First off, my address is barely 2mi from the shop and if they're listed as a delivery option for whatever address, don't get mad at me for taking advantage. I'm trying to patron your damn deli. Then, as I'm opening up the bag to get to my sandwich, fries & juice, I stopped, considering the fact that if they were bent outta shape enough to pen this love letter, I can't trust what was done with my food. I've seen too much in my lifetime to put good faith into this situation. So I conveyed this to GH and got refunded for the food part of it, paid for the juice and left the $4-5 tip as is, just the tip. I wouldn't have taken the tip anyway if this was due to a call not going thru, but that note was unnecessary and a bad look for them. Stapling nasty notes to your deliveries?? Really?? read more

I ordered delivery through the website. It came when they said it would arrive and the driver was kind enough to text me with a picture to tell me where he left the order. The portions were extremely generous. I ordered both the paisano and the beauty and the beef and both were well made and packaged with care. The chicken cutlet was hot and freshly made, so it arrived crispy and juicy. I've had chicken cutlet sandwiches where you could tell that the chicken had all been pre-fried well before the order and were cold and soggy. So glad that they made to order or I caught them at the right time! The beauty and the beef had a very generous softball sized portion of meat with crispy fried onions, cheese, and bbq sauce. I would have liked it better if the beef was warm, but I can always pop the sandwich in the microwave. If you're thinking about ordering delivery and live in the vicinity, I would recommend going through their website and not a third party service. I was going to order on Door Dash, but the prices on Door Dash were at least $1 to $3 dollars more per sandwich. If you order more than 1 sandwich, the store's service is a much better deal! read more

After my last review I received a message from the Owner of Square Deli with nice words and insisting I try them again so he could make it up to me... So one night we were hanging out recently it was too hot & didnt want to cook, I reached out to Chris... Ordered the Steak Tips again, Meatball Sub & some other things. Steak was GREAT this time, I asked for them as rare as they could legally walk out the door... By the time they got to us they were a nice Med Rare... Just great, Love the rice. Everything was good. BF said the Meatball was GOOD (for him thats huge - normally you just get a nod)... I got Mozzarella sticks which were super good (I mean you really cant screw those up.) and a Steak Bomb - It was a little overcooked but I know that it was prob just an off night, the toppings were good, everything was good just the meat a little too browned but no Biggie it was still really good! All in all a good try & Im glad I tried again, just wish they were open a little later as with all the running around I do and the kids its usually close to 8 when we are sitting down & decide to order, but on earlier nights and we are home hungry, we will def be going back. Customer Service is HUGE to me, I mean C'Mon anyone can make a sandwich & bring it to my house, do it with some personality & Service & you get more points for that! Can't believe it's taken this long and covid for me to find this gem. It's "Beauty and the Beef" is easily my favorite roast beef sandwich in the area, it's unique blend of fried onion strings and horseradish sauce squashes the traditional bbq sauce to set the new bar for roast beef sammiches. It comes with a side of homemade chips, at times it's fried to a perfect crisp, other times it's undercooked with a soft meh texture Other decent options are the homemade meatball and chicken parmesan subs, although the marinara sauce is sometimes too sour or salty. While the steak bomb bomb is tasty, the steak portion could be better and the seasoning consistency can be improved. The prices are reasonable and staff are always friendly. Easily my new "go-to" sub/sandwich joint. read more

Amazing pizza! Not floppy at all, perfect crunch to the bottom of the crust but pillowy top of the crust. The sauce has a good balance of flavors, and isn't too sweet at all. Highly recommend! Also, they use some fancy ass pepperoni. read more

Was here in Revere staying with family and I found this place on Yelp. I was wicked stahven and this place is pissa. Had the steak stir fry and mozzarella sticks. Stir fry was a little too sweet, but I ate it all! Mozzarella sticks nice size, usually you get like 3 or 4, nope got plenty enough to have 2 for later. Ha! If you're ever in Everett which I don't know why you would be until the casino is open, go check out this place. It's open till 6pm on weekdays so be aware of the time. I got a steak bomb sub with pickles and hots added of course. Bread was very tasty and fresh. The meat had a great taste to it as well. Just the right about of pickles and hots. The only issue I did have was there were way to many green peppers. Other than that sub stayed intact while I was eating. I enjoy a sub that isn't over piled and creates a huge mess while your eating it. I ordered a sub to eat with my hands not to fork and knife it off my table. I work around the corner and discovered this place pretty early on in my job and I've been going on and off ever since, for about three years now. I find the food to be fresh, freshly prepared, well seasoned and flavorful. I've almost never had a bad meal from this place, honestly. They have a great selection of healthy options, which is refreshing for the neighborhood. Good sized salads, with tons of dressing choices. Also several wraps that are pretty healthy for the most part. But the best part of the menu isn't where you find the healthy stuff, of course. Cheat day highlights include: Crunchy wrap Burger Madame (obnoxiously good.... Anyone who loves a fried egg with... anything.... Which is me... Order this) Paisano (I think... I forget and it's late =\) They also make some pretty good meatballs. Service has always been fast and friendly. The guys behind the counter get you in and out quickly, which is appreciated since I usually stop by in between running errands for work. There are a few small tables where you can sit down and have a quick bite if you need, as well. Minus one star for weird delivery on weekends. In other words, non existent, despite their menu saying they do..... They don't even pick up the phone.... Boohoo for me I guess. Still a winner winner in my book! read more

Was excited to have a place very close by with such wonderful reviews. Hummus Plate Appetizer was just fine but the Red Pepper Hummus was awful. I didn't like it at all. Ordered the chicken parm with ziti: Chicken was very good but the pasta was over cooked and boring. The Chicken Broccoli with penne: the pasta was cooked perfectly and the chicken was a bit dry. Just pretty average. Also ordered a side of meatballs and they were very good! Delicious! Jumbo cookies were an excellent treat as well. Me and coworkers went back to the Square Deli because the owner had contacted me after my review to apologize about my previous experience. This was probably the best customer service I have ever received and I am so happy that I gave them another try. They recently changed there steak tips and the steak tip salad I had was awesome. I also had the Tuscan chicken panini which I have to say is an absolute must if you ever visit them. I am very happy that I tried them again and I absolutely will go back! read more

Just an update - I was contacted by the owner who apologized and offered to replace my meal. Since then, my son has brought home a steak and cheese sub and an Italian sub. Both were great - nice soft bread, just the right amount of seasoning and very good sized/ a real value. So - I will edit my last review and say four stars.
