If you're ever in Everett which I don't know why you would be until the casino is open, go check out this place. It's open till 6pm on weekdays so be aware of the time. I got a steak bomb sub with pickles and hots added of course. Bread was very tasty and fresh. The meat had a great taste to it as well. Just the right about of pickles and hots. The only issue I did have was there were way to many green peppers. Other than that sub stayed intact while I was eating. I enjoy a sub that isn't over piled and creates a huge mess while your eating it. I ordered a sub to eat with my hands not to fork and knife it off my table. I work around the corner and discovered this place pretty early on in my job and I've been going on and off ever since, for about three years now. I find the food to be fresh, freshly prepared, well seasoned and flavorful. I've almost never had a bad meal from this place, honestly. They have a great selection of healthy options, which is refreshing for the neighborhood. Good sized salads, with tons of dressing choices. Also several wraps that are pretty healthy for the most part. But the best part of the menu isn't where you find the healthy stuff, of course. Cheat day highlights include: Crunchy wrap Burger Madame (obnoxiously good.... Anyone who loves a fried egg with... anything.... Which is me... Order this) Paisano (I think... I forget and it's late =\) They also make some pretty good meatballs. Service has always been fast and friendly. The guys behind the counter get you in and out quickly, which is appreciated since I usually stop by in between running errands for work. There are a few small tables where you can sit down and have a quick bite if you need, as well. Minus one star for weird delivery on weekends. Was excited to have a place very close by with such wonderful reviews. Hummus Plate Appetizer was just fine but the Red Pepper Hummus was awful. I didn't like it at all. Ordered the chicken parm with ziti: Chicken was very good but the pasta was over cooked and boring. The Chicken Broccoli with penne: the pasta was cooked perfectly and the chicken was a bit dry. Me and coworkers went back to the Square Deli because the owner had contacted me after my review to apologize about my previous experience. This was probably the best customer service I have ever received and I am so happy that I gave them another try. They recently changed there steak tips and the steak tip salad I had was awesome. Just an update - I was contacted by the owner who apologized and offered to replace my meal. Since then, my son has brought home a steak and cheese sub and an Italian sub. I'm so psyched that Square Deli is under new ownership! The Square Deli had been taking a nose-dive toward disaster for the past few years since opening as "The Square Deli". As a kid, it was always "3D's" and I was always a huge fan. Now that it has been re-opened with new management, I'm finally able to trust in this place once again. While I've only had one sandwich here since relaunch, I can already tell that the old school nostalgia is back. The eggplant sub I had was incredible. Fresh mozzarella, tasty eggplant...it checked all the boxes. I'm also impressed to know that they are now open for normal business hours. I called to order a grilled chicken parm (not on the mebu)wheat wrap with steamed broccoli, & without questioning me, they said "no problem, whatever you would like". This place is worth the wait! Although the lunch time rush can get a little busy, Square deli is definitely worth the wait. My office has ordered lunch from these guys several times, and we are always delighted. There salads are all fresh, but the favorites seem to be the buffalo chicken and the antipasto (loaded with Italian meats!) The hungry Pilgrim sandwhich is always a big hit! The steak tips may not be from floramos (another favorite in the area) but they are pretty darn good, and served stir fry style with rice and veggies, are just awesome! The Italian, square deli special, and muffelata are all amazing.... you can't go wrong with their deli. Finally, I had a piece of their pan pizza. It is square cut, but nothing about it is square. It was a dull, rainy day here in Everett, and after having an awful steak & cheese sub the day before, I decided to give this place a shot and order a steak & cheese along with an order or fries. The sub was excellent. The cheese was melted amongst the meat, it kept the bread warm, and made for a delicious meal. The only complain I can derive from eating this sandwich was the dryness of the meat. Disregarding the dryness, the meat was still delicious, and so was the cheese. They both tasted very good and worked well in unison. The fries were also great. I had never tasted fries quite like these. They were made slightly crunchy and slightly soft, but not too soft or too crunchy. They got it right on the dot in terms of the quality. I'm still eating them and they've gotten warm/cold, but they're still delicious to eat. Only downside to this order of fries was the amount of grease. There was a pretty significant amount of grease on these fries, but it wasn't to the point where it would drip from the bag. Great place to eat from. I look forward to trying out other foods from this establishment. read more

I was in Everett Square today running some errands and I decided to stop in here. I see it all the time but seriously it never occurred to me to go in. Boy am I glad I did. I ordered a large ham and cheese for me and the bf to share. It was soooo good. Did I put enough Os on that...lol. But seriously the bread was nice and chewy like I like it. I do not like when you get a sub and the bread is all pillowy. I like a nice crusty bread and that is what they have here. The sub had the right balance of cheese, meats, and veggies. I also like that I asked for light hots and they listened and did not try to incinerate my insides. They have some dinners, sicilian pizza, fresh sliced deli meat, and fresh soups on the menu. Everything is fresh. The new owner is doing a great job. The staff are pleasant friendly and helpful. This is one of my favorite sub places in town. Chris is super nice and friendly just a good overall guy. He takes time to greet and chat with his customers and is genuine. I think he has the old school business approach. The kind of service you find at mom and pop shops that take pride. No doubt this business will do well. I always order the Italians and raspberry lime Rickey's. Deliver in the time I'm quoted. One time my delivery got messed up. When I called I was told I had a sub on the house for next time. we've ordered from these guys a handful of times now and each time has been pretty dang good. it's nice to have a dedicated sandwich/deli place, as opposed to a pizza place that also makes subs. delivery is ridiculously fast - last time we ordered it arrived in about 20 minutes, a full half hour before the estimated time foodler gave. the guys are always friendly too, and capable of following simple instructions on finding our apartment and using the right entrance. speaking of instructions, i always request a pickle with my order (some of the sandwiches come with them but some don't) and they always oblige which is awesome. the only downside from my perspective is price. i would say most of the items are overpriced by about a buck or two. our last order ran us $30 (*after* a 10% off coupon) for two sandwiches, one cookie, and a soda. the other thing to note is they're not open very late and closed on sundays. (doesn't affect my rating of them at all, just an fyi.) and now, my usual rundown of menu items we've tried so far: the hungry pilgrim - so good! the cranberry mayo was awesome. stuffing was probably stove top but i'm into that. i only wish there was a bread choice beyond a sub or wrap. this would be excellent as a panini or even a straight up sandwich. turkey was good too, not the slimy pre-sliced weirdness you sometimes get from sub shops. ceasar wrap - their wraps may occasionally look small to the naked eye, but i dare you to finish one. you'll be stuffed! these are like fat burritos. fresh lettuce, plenty of cheese and croutons and of course nice grilled, seasoned chicken. the dressing is pretty tangy and more on the greek side, fyi, as opposed to creamy. crunchy wrap - fried chicken tenders, ranch, lettuce and tomatoes. tons of chicken, enough dressing but not so much that it's gloppy or messy. so good! buffalo chicken wrap - like the crunchy wrap, but buffalo. duh. beauty and the beef - roast beef, provolone, bbq sauce, crispy onions, horseradish, lettuce, tomato. J ordered this last time as a bit of a personal experiment and wasn't a huge fan of the flavor combo, but liked the roast beef, which was nice and pink and shaved thin. i had a bite and thought it was really yummy though, i would get this in the future! (i'm a total toppings whore though, and he, not so much.) pepper turkey melt - really good, love the pressed flatbread and spicy mayo. burger plate - i tend to avoid delivery burgers because they're almost all burnt hockey pucks but J got this and it was actually good! a real burger, melty cheese, brioche bun. the only thing funny was the requested toppings (pickles and onions) came in a little box on the side but hey, whatever works! the plate also comes with a side salad (better than the inedible iceberg most places give you but nothing to write home about) and fries which...omg. were SO GOOD! i usually don't even eat fries but i stole like half of these lol. thin and double fried and crispy. greek wrap - marinated chicken, lettuce, tomato, feta, banana peppers, kalamata olives, and greek dressing. messy but worth it! definitely will be back for this one. mozzarella sticks - standard, comes with marinara. jumbo cookie - it is giant! if anyone remembers the old school cookies dunkin donuts used to make (not the crummy subway type ones they have now) these are almost as good as those. big square chunks of chocolate and great flavor, sort of soft but crunchy, if that makes sense. the last one i got was jacked up though - i picked up the paper sack it was in and the whole thing flopped over...wut. it was not soft baked but more soft like soggy and crumbly. had one since that was much better but still kind of mushy - if they bake these in house the humidity might just be mucking up the baking temps or affecting storage. pickles and chips are good but they seem to be picked at random - sometimes you get sour, sometimes half sour, sometimes regular dill...plain chips, bbq...last time we got a flavor neither of us could even place. so just an fyi for anyone picky, but i bet you could put a request in the comments and they'd do their best to honor it. they also give you the courtesy of calling if they're out of something to help you choose another option which is nice. next time we catch these guys open again i think i'll go for the eggplant sandwich or a burger. so many great choices! read more

Waited over 3 hours for delivery - less than 1 mile away. Called twice and both times he said it was on the way. Everyting was ice colde. Salad was partly rotten. Vegetable wrap tasted like a whole container of salt. I wasted 30 bucks and also a lot of time. Need to order from another place since the food was so bad we needed to throw it away. Best eggplant parm sub ever. I am a vegetarian and very particular about my eggplant. The eggplant here is thin and breaded (not mushy and full of seeds) and the sauce is delicious. You can tell the bread is fresh. It's a big sub so I usually get it for lunch and eat half later. Sometimes I also get a cold veggie sub and I love the hot pepper sauce. But one thing really stood out, someone called me and let me know they ran into a delay and the food might take just about an hour or so and asked if that would be okay.
