Everytime I go there I always ask them to cook it medium rare (which is how I like it) and I am happy if it's just medium - but it always come to me well done - no pink it the middle at all. The Stand on Plummer Street has the best food and the most amazing service ever. Chuy took such amazing care of us tonight. The food was TDF. We also ordered chicken wraps to go for tomorrow's lunch, but when we looked in the bag while we were still at the restaurant, there were chicken sandwiches. Chuy told us to keep the sandwiches and made us the wraps we wanted. Who does that? I'll tell you who...a manager that understands service. I know I know, I could have ordered a chili cheese fries but I ordered them separately, anyways I dumped my chili on top of the fries and I enjoyed my own chili fries, which I like to do because I feel like it keeps the fries from being soggy. We've been to a few different The Stand locations in SoCal. It's got a great atmosphere and really nicely designed interior. There are options for vegetarians and gluten free folks and you can even get beer on tap for a full on adult experience. We hadn't been in a while because they eliminated their Impossible burger option for vegetarians and generally have found that veggie burgers that are attempting to impersonate meat do a better job at providing a burger experience than almost any house-made patty. We came by the Northridge location as a large group of folks we knew were gathering there to give the "Stand Custom Patty" - unfortunately we're sticking with our original assessment. It just isn't as good as a Beyond, Impossible or true "faux meat" patty. That's just our opinion. Some people might love it, but their house-made patty doesn't really simulate a burger experience as good as the others do. (Three of us got it and had the same opinion.) From our perspective, if want to have an American burger and fries experience, we want it to be as close as possible to the real thing. This veggie patty with black bean forward flavor (also rice, quinoa and various spices) provides a different experience, which on it's own terms is probably fine, but isn't really the burger experience my vegetarian family is looking for. The staff was friendly. We were there on a crowded Friday night. No one came to wipe a table we sat at after asking a staff member if that could happen. The side sauces we asked for weren't the ones that were brought so we had to ask again. Free unlimited containers of pickles is a pretty good feature...but with so many options for, what we consider, a real (albeit vegetarian) experience at so many restaurants everywhere, unless The Stand brings back something like the Impossible Burger they used to have, we likely won't be back. read more

Today I placed my order through the app, drove up and walked in and up to the to go station (around the corner when you walk in) Be sure to grab the complimentary pickles they're delicious, they're chips are too! The girls working was so sweet and helpful, she had my order ready within a minute of me walking in the door. I ordered the chimmichurri steak salad with avocado. The steak was tender and cooked perfectly, I loved how well everything went in the salad. I've sat inside, the booths are comfortable, they have high seats for kids. Great for families! The Stand is a well known eatery brand, that has built a solid reputation for its food specialities. The inside and outside dining areas are basic and spacious. The menu covers the bases of burgers, hot dogs, salads, wraps, sandwiches and the like. We came here for carry out. A Veggie Bliss Burger, a Stand burger, a Stand hot dog and Fire fries. The burgers (you have 8 to choose from) have a larger allowed selection of free condiments. Loaded toppings are extra. Unfortunately, this diversity is not equally true for the hot dog selections. For one, there are only two basic choices. Second, you are allowed a limit of 4 toppings only. While the burgers at the Stand are okay (and nothing special), I tend to gravitate towards the hot dog, which is prepared very well here. My 4 topping choices were sweet relish, sliced red onions, deli mustard and sweet chili aioli. The concoction, supported by a soft and chewy bun, really hit the spot. Love the stand- via my nephews who loooveee the chips so much! Food- -Have gotten the burger before and it's just standard normal which I am very fine with! "Promise" Now the ABC burger I actually enjoyed it but for some reason, the avocado made it weird with all the other flavors. It was just strange, but that's just my personal preference. Returned to The Stand in Encino this last week. It was AMAZING. The problems we encountered before when we were unhappy with the wine had vanished. The service was excellent, and the food perfect in every detail. My turkey burger was hot, delicious, and served with whole leaf lettuce just the way I like it. The weather gods were with us, and we were able to sit outside under the trees and enjoy the birdsong, our food and drinks, and felt like we had been well-cared for.
