Before I start, one proviso....I haven't been to this location in about 5 years, so it may not be the same as when I was going there pre-pandemic...on with the review! I worked at CSU, Northridge for decades and this was one of my go-to spots. They have both indoor and outdoor dining. You queue in a line that runs past the menu board and order at the register. They give you a tall wire cardholder with your order number on it, you take that and put it on your table, so they know who gets what. I tried most items on their menu, and had several favorites. In no particular order, they are the Onion Stack burger, the French Onion burger and the Short Rib Grilled Cheese sandwich. While I love hot dogs, I never failed to order one of my favorite sandwiches and didn't get around to trying any of their hot dogs. The Onion Stack is just that, a burger with a stack of thin, crispy onion strings stacked on a burger, with lettuce, cheese, barbecue sauce and bacon-tomato spread on a brioche bun. If you love onions, the French Onion Soup burger is for you. It has crispy onion strings, some onions marinated in red wine and comes with onion soup au jus to dip the burger in. It also has Gruyere cheese and a Parmesan crusted bun, YUMMY! The Short Rib Grilled Cheese sandwich was the one I ordered the most often. It features braised beef, the ever-present crispy onion strings, bacon-tomato spread, lots of cheddar, barbecue sauce and Parmesan crusted sourdough bread. Not for the dieters among us, but outrageously tasty. I tried the fries once, their Fire fries. Not impressed, kind of dry and thin, but for less cash, their Stand potato chips were great. As you may have noticed, I like onions. Their onion rings are great, among the very best I've had, a must try! They are battered and deep fried. Not a panko or breaded crust, much sturdier and very tasty. An order may only have four or five rings, but they are huge and delicious. This location has three or four giant TVs on one wall. They all showed different sporting events. They also have booths farther away, if you aren't into whatever sport they are displaying. The outside has a short fence around the tables, with the great SoCal weather, it is very inviting almost year-round. The drinks are self-dispensed with a machine that offers every soda available, Coke, Coke Zero, Cherry Coke Zero, Diet Coke, Fanta, Sprite, etc. You can custom mix any drink by adding cherry, lime, orange and other flavorings and even other sodas. Very cool. They also have a great and wide variety of beers on tap. Some big brands, but lots of smaller labels, too. The ambiance is mostly industrial and somewhat noisy. Go there for the food, it is well worth visiting. Highly Recommended. read more

Came here twice and decided to try a kid's meal the 2nd time, for $10 you get a small burger without any add-ons and a little bit fries and a kid's drink, the price is good but the taste is very average. The normal burger is way better, the service is average, there is about 10 outdoor seating which is good for a nice weather out. Overall a good burger place. read more

The Stand is one of my favorite spots! I tried the Peri Peri Chicken, and it was absolutely delicious -- juicy, flavorful, and perfectly grilled with just the right amount of spice. The manager "chewy" was very rude and frustrated when we asked questions about the menu. We asked if one of the salads was gluten free to which he responded that they have nothing gluten free and waved us to leave. Then after we told him we'd eaten here before and that wasn't possible he said only their gluten free buns were gluten free. after we questioned that (because obviously you could have burger gluten free if you make the bun) he got really frustrated and said they actually had an entire gluten free menu but walked away frustrated and wouldn't assist us. The Stand is exactly what it says it is- American Classics Redefined! The Stand is always a great option for me when I'm not quite sure what I want to eat because they have so many options and their menu rotates as well. I've tried both their sandwiches and salads and they never disappoint. Anothing thing that never disappoints? Those CHIPS! I'm also a big fan of their sweet potato waffle fries. Who doesn't love waffle fries? Most recently I ordered the BBQ brisket sandwich and it was delicious. The bread was soft and the meat had the perfect amount of sauce on it that it didn't make the bread soggy. It was super filling and their pickles were the perfect little addition. The Northridge location is very large with lots of outdoor seating. It really wasn't too busy when I went here, but I did still have to wait a while for my food. I took advantage of their fancy soda machine while I waited. The staff was very nice and the food was packaged well, as I took it to-go. Overall, love the Stand and will continue to be a regular customer, I just hope the wait times get sorted out but maybe it was an off day. read more

I think theirs is pretty generic. The Buffalo Chicken Sandwich is okay. Fire sauce is too hot. Should be served with blue cheese. Today the wife had the chicken club. They do a good job of describing the food items. CHICKEN CLUB marinated grilled chicken, bacon, avocado, arugula, tomato, sweet chili aioli, gourmet brioche bun. Sounded better than is was. It was dry and overcooked. I tried the Short Rib Grilled Cheese. This place is delicious!! In this picture, I got the ABC burger with some fries. I like my patty medium well and it's always perfect. The texture, flavor, consistency and quality is always on point every time I go. There's plenty of seatings inside and there's a patio outside to sit also. They also have 4 tvs inside where you can watch sports! And lastly the service, the service here is always great. Super friendly and helpful. They would always ask you if you need any ketchup or ranch or pickles when they deliver your food to the table. If something is not right with your order then they'll fix it right away.
