I've been dining here for years, but this is my first time leaving a review. The restaurant has a warm, inviting atmosphere with tasteful decor. The central bar is a nice touch and very convenient. Today, I tried the chipotle & beer-braised beef sandwich with triple cheddar, bacon tomato jam, crispy onion strings, and hickory sauce on double parmesan-crusted sourdough. It was flavorful but a bit too salty for my liking. While it wasn't my favorite, their burgers are definitely worth coming back for. The Stand, originated in SoCal but have a bunch of locations, recently opened a new location in Santa Clara. Their tag line is "American Classics Redefined" and they sure do an amazing job at that. Their menu consists of salads, standwiches, wraps, shakes, drinks and stand burgers, and each item we tried was very well prepared. The burger as cooked to perfection and juicy in every bite. The shakes were well made, and honestly one of the best we've ever had! They have a new seasonal toasted marshmallow shake and it legit taste like a toasted marshmallow. Their fries and other sides they have complemented the burger and shakes perfectly. There's ample parking and the locations is great for a lunch/dinner with your partner or a get together with friends to catch some sports by the full bar. Stopped here after our round at Sunken Gardens. (I got a birdie on the last hole!!) Found it on YELP . What a good find. Husband got the Havarti Shroom Burger (we added lettuce); I got the chicken salad wrap; we added a side of onion rings. All were delicious. The Bburger had a good size patty, the smell of the shrooms was delish and the Burger wasn't wet like some burgers these days with too many condiments. My wrap was a *tad* too saucy but the taste was yummy and refreshing. The onions rings were like a tempura batter with a slight chewy, crunch. Came with a thick yummy creamy ranch and ketchup. I like these fast casual establishments sometimes since you order and pay first then pick your seats. FRENCH ONION SOUP BURGER: Yum! This burger comes with au-jus and I really enjoyed dipping every bite into the lightly seasoned broth and pairing it with the softened onion slices. It was appropriately named and perfect for those that love onions in all forms: red wine onions, crispy onion straws! Double whammy for my fellow cheese lovers too because they melt parmesan onto the bun so it gets all crusty and adds to the overall flavor of the burger as well. It's just a little messy with all the juices flowing out, but if you can get past being a little messy, I recommend this one! BIG BLUE: I'm on team blue cheese so this was a no brainer. It was super refreshing with the arugula and the grilled onions were caramelized so it added some sweetness, along with the bbq sauce which was an interesting inclusion but worked well! STAND FRIES: The fries were thick cut, but not the size of steak fries. Crispy with some skin on. Nothing stand out, just good for what it was. They are hefty sized burgers, so be prepared! Pretty busy on a Friday evening but food came out within 15 mins. Parking lot can get quite chaotic now with all the hype spots like La Casa Mia and Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House. I got the ultimate egg stand burger, stand fries, and the cookies n cream shake. They also gave free sample of potato chips in a cup which was a nice gesture! Ultimate egg burger: right off the bat on the first bite, I could tell that it was overly salted. I think it was the bacon. I ended up having to remove it to be able to eat the burger. The burger minus bacon was great! I appreciated how they let you pick how you want your meat cooked. It was juicy and flavorful and I liked the egg and aioli. Definitely heavy and filling. Fries: pretty standard fries, nothing special. They did come out fresh and piping hot though! These come with your choice of dipping sauce. I got ranch and the ranch was flavorful and had a thick aioli-like consistency. Shake: quite sweet and very milky, personally loved it! First time here was to try the French onion soup burger and onion rings. The food went beyond expectations with flavor and value. It was so good. The workers were really nice as well, two guys (Connor and Edgar). Connor generously brought me an aioli sauce without me asking and told me "I wanted you to try this." Wow! What a great burger! This is our new favorite burger place. It is fast casual, but they have a bar and tvs where you can get drinks with your burger and watch sports. The menu has a bit for everyone, so take a moment to check out the sandwiches if you aren't in a burger mood. Delicious burger spot right across the street from Kaiser Santa Clara. Parking is plentiful and the service was outstanding. We got there well after the lunch rush on a Thursday so the place was pretty empty. There's a large bar area as you walk in with lots of TV's. I've heard it's hopin during Happy Hour. You order at the counter and they give you a number for your table and bring your order out when it's ready. I can't eat a whole burger so I convinced my daughter to split one with me and the cashier was super nice and said they'd split it for us before bringing it out. Our burgers were DELICIOUS! Juicy and flavorful. We got and order of fries and onion rings. Both of these were just okay. Not bad but not note worthy. They have a list of dippy sauces you can choose from and I asked for them all! lol What can I say, I a dippy sauce kinda gal. I liked the smoky bbq sauce and the horseradish won the best. The Stand is my new favorite American fast casual spot in South Bay! I've been twice now and have loved both visits. It's clean and has a nice ambiance inside with big screens around the bar, plenty of seating, and fast service. And the food is DELICIOUS! I've gotten the ABC burger and the short rib grilled cheese and both were EXCELLENT. they both had incredible flavor. Both the sweet potato fries and the normal French fries are also amazing. And the shakes! I got the cookie butter shake and couldn't stop drinking it. Overall am obsessed! I received some coupons in the mail for TS (buy one get one entree free, buy one get one half off, free beverage, etc.) and took my little brother here to check it out. We both had a positive experience! He ordered a burger, the "house burger", and proclaimed it perfectly cooked. He liked his fries except that they were a bit hard. We both got the Cookie Butter Crunch Milkshake, and this was such a treat. It's made with Biscoff cookies (the ones you always hope to get on a plane!) and it was so delicious. I got the French Onion Soup Burger, which was incredibly good. You can customize anything, but I chose to get it as it normally comes, so I could have the experience of getting it as it was intended. The bun has Parmesan in it and the burger comes with a side of actual French onion soup that you can pour on your burger or just sip. I also got sweet potato fries and they were amazing, done perfectly and the texture was cool. It tasted very fresh. We were also encouraged to take complimentary samples of chips and pickles. There was a misunderstanding to honor the gift at the beginning as I mistakenly used the phrase "store credit" but manager Sal handled it smoothly. Ordered three southwest chicken salads, one kale chicken salad, two fries and two Thai Tea shakes. My southwest chicken salad was good with fresh ingredients but the chicken was cold, not the type that was freshly grilled. IMO, a great chicken salad supposedly should have grilled chicken freshly made, not a refrigerated chilled one but I understand the kitchen deals with time constraint. Just not the best I've had but OK. Friend said her chicken in the kale salad was better. The french fries were much better than the one we had last time, hot and fresh. The waffle-cut sweet potato fries were crispy however they were over fried and not visually appealing. I personally prefer the regular shape. The star of the show to me was the Thai Tea Shake, which was creamy and smooth with light aroma of tea flavor, and not too sweet. I liked it! Service was very nice. Staff was courteous and attentive. We had a long lunch there and the cushiony bench was soo comfortable! All of their burgers are "redefined" American classics, so it's different from what you'd expect. It's more elevated per se. You can always build your own if no signature burgers speak to you. The sides are good, too! I recommend skipping the signature fire fries they advertise to you. Just get onion rings, sweet potato fries, or The Stand fries. Simple is the way to go. There is a good selection of proteins (chicken, turkey, beef, veggie) and buns (lettuce wrap, brioche, wheat, GF, pretzel). The sauce options are fun. There is only one burger, one wrap, one salad and no sandwich option in veggie. Veggie burger and falafel wrap were good. Kale Quinoa salad had a strong parmesan that I did not quite liked. Discovered this spot during a Yelp event several weeks ago, and vowed to return after such a great experience. On my most recent visit, I had to get my chocolate fix with the chocolate shake, and it was outstanding. Sweet, chocolate overload, the plastic to-go cup even lined with chocolate sauce, and the perfect thickness, no shortage of flavor here. But they serve plenty of tasty food items as well, including burgers, salads, and some of the best onion rings I've ever had! (No more Philly Cheesesteaks though). I came here before they rebranded from "Grub Burger", so the new name and logo are nice! I would say the quality of food is just as good as before. My recommendations would be the Beef Short Rib Grilled Cheese, Mac n Cheese, and the Yuzu Sweet & Sour Bone-in Wings. Wash it all down with a Blueberry Lemonade too. Cool! Didn't know that The Grub was now The Stand. I've been to the Grub once or twice before and was a fan, so I'm glad to find that The Stand lived up to those standards. I stopped by on Saturday around 1pm with my fiancé. The place considerably busy but wasn't packed. The ordering line moved quickly, and it looked like the tables turned around quickly as well. We were able to snag a booth by the bar. Customer service was excellent. Staff was friendly and very helpful. The employee who took our order walked us through the menu and gave us recommendations on what to get. There were free samples of their house chips and pickles, which were both great. I'm not a big fan of pickles by any means, but I admittedly enjoyed how The Stand preps theirs. Their pickles tasted really fresh, and I loved how they were thinly sliced and crunchy. We shared the grilled cheese brisket sandwich, Classic Stand burger, and the regular fries. I loved the grilled cheese brisket sandwich, and I wouldn't hesitate to get it again. The bread was perfectly crusted with cheese, and the brisket was tender. Overall, the Classic Sand Burger was flavorful, but my biggest complaint was how pink it was in the center. My fiancé ordered it as medium rare, but it was definitely on the rare side. Steak is one thing, I'm very wary about ordering undercooked burger meat from restaurants. The side of fries was alright. The Grub used to have these shoestring fries that I enjoyed, but The stand's were thicker and had the texture of stale fries. It was such a miss. I should've got the house chips instead. Upon entering we can immediately felt the energy from the bar. Ordering was fast and easy with friendly services. We liked the layout and spaciousness of the dining area; people can choose to watch TV and get a little noisy at the front or sit all the way to the back which is much quieter. Our order was brought over within 10 - 15 minutes; a Stand burger w/o cheese, an ABC burger, onion rings, a tap beer and a fountain drink. The burgers were the stars, we can taste the quality of the beef patty, liked the temperature of the meat and enjoyed all the fresh ingredients that came with. Am not sure about the brioche buns as it's sweeter (not a + for me) and fell apart easily. Onion rings were crunchy and generously portioned, $2 off the beer during the HH time window. The chips were thick and a little too hard. During our meal multiple staffs checked on us with a smile which was nice. We came here on a Sunday at around 2PM, and there was a small line at the ordering. Luckily it went really fast. The cashier was super friendly and took my order attentively. The food took about 10-15 minutes. We got a ABC burger, The Stand, spicy fries, chocolate milk shake and a Painkiller cocktail. I would prefer the ABC burger over their signature burger, The Stand, as it was juicier and full with flavors from avocado, bacon and cheddar cheese. I'm also not a fan of pickled so The Stand was not my thing. Spicy fries was delicious especially when dipped with ranch, it was super spicy though, so I would not recommend if you cannot handle spice. Their shake was on the sweet size, but it was really smooth and creamy, no ice crumb left in drink. Presentation wise their food and drink looks really nice. Store is clean.
