Wow, super impressed! First off, staff were SO friendly and helpful. Ordered the Southwest Chicken Salad and the Regular Fries. Both were delicious! Salad was packed with toppings; corn salsa, guacamole, olives, tortilla strips, cucumber, shredded cheese, tons of fresh chicken, all on a bed of crunchy romaine. Hamburgers were good -- a little small in my opinion -- but otherwise tasty--good bun, meat was cooked well, good flavors, etc. We liked the aioli sauce. Fries and onions rings were good too. We also enjoyed the steak salad, although I would have liked more meat. Funny that a lot of food that was being left on the tables (by other people) uneaten were the fries. You order at the counter and then your food gets delivered. We had a large party (like 12) and the service was great; food came out quickly. Burger was okay but didn't quite live up to my expectations. It was a decent portion size and the patty was plump, cooked to the desired temperature. I had the Stand burger which would be their most basic. It was decently flavorful but I didn't notice on the menu it has grilled onions and I was expecting raw since I assumed it was the most basic. I suppose if you want a basic, classic burger, maybe try the build your own option. Also, this odd one heck of a greasy burger. Stand French fries were pretty good, nice and crispy. Service was very good. Fairly fast but very friendly, especially the guy who brings your food out. Indoor and outdoor seating is nice. I recently came back to The Stand after not visiting after more than a year and wanted to see how it would be. I will start by staying that this was my favorite south bay burger spot when it was Grub Burger and that I visited after the change to The Stand after I had COVID. After my last visit yesterday, I'm thinking I owe The Stand an apology: my taste buds most likely weren't fully back yet. I ordered the havarti shroom burger with a side of onion rings. It was delicious! The burger was juicy, tasty, and cooked perfectly while the onion rings were crispy and a good sized basket. The staff that brought over the food to our table was friendly as well. Dined here with friends and shared a French Onion Soup Burger and a Kale Salad. The burger has a side of French Onion Soup, which tastes like it came from an instant mix, but adds to the texture and flavor of the burger. The kale salad was huge and had lots of good textures, but too much of the powdered Parmesan cheese. As for the fries, I preferred the sweet potato fries over the plain fries because they were crispier. This is one of those places where you order at the counter and they bring to food to you. The inside is bright and pleasant, and they have plenty of seating, there is outdoor seating too. The service was wonderful, over the top friendly! We were also offered sample homemade potato chips and pickles. I had the Southwest chicken wrap, and it was good. My husband had the Southwest chicken burger and loved it. I ordered a side of coleslaw and it was very good. The highlight, though, was the side of sweet potato waffle fries! I don't think I've ever had waffle fries made with sweet potato before, and they were great. I brought home a hummus wrap for my daughter and she enjoyed it. We will definitely go back! read more

Amazing burgers and great service! I first tried The Stand in SoCal and I'm overjoyed that they've established a branch up here in NorCal. The staff are very nice and welcoming. The restaurant is big, spacious, and clean with a giant bar counter in the front. Most importantly, the burgers were juicy, fresh, and meaty--I especially liked that it wasn't greasy, unlike the typical burger joint. Especially loved their wide variety of sauces, with the sweet chili aioli being my fave. If you're not feeling burgers, their chicken teriyaki bowl was surprisingly delicious too, plus a wide array of wraps and salads on their menu! This place was formerly Grub Burger Bar, it was bought by new owners a little over a year ago. We have been several times and have tried a variety of items: hamburgers, sandwiches, hot dogs, etc. They've all been good but my favorite item is the Chimichurri steak salad minus the Chimichurri sauce so yea the steak salad . One item that my husband gets every time though is the chip duo, it comes with tortilla chips and homemade potato chips which are so good and is served with a pimento cheese spread and guacamole. It's probably his favorite item there. The staff are always friendly and for the most part are on top of keeping the tables and dining area clean. I kid you not when I say that this place has never let me down. Each time I've gone here, I've come out feeling like I had the best pairing of burger and fries with the best service. My most recent visit encapsulated the shroom burger with this spicy fries side and a frozen paloma. Went here again and the service was much better the second time around. I got the veggie bliss + fries and the onion rings were a bit soggy. I really loved the house ranch that came with the fries. It was a nice garlicky ranch which was delicious with the fries. The portions were good too, it was a heavy and filling meal afterwards which was good. Only thing I didn't like was the ordering mechanism. You go up at the front in a line and the waiters were a bit pushy/impatient while we were deciding and then you go and sit down at a table. The cheeseburger was really juicy and delicious. Although I only had one bite, it left me wanting more. My hot dog was not so great. The roll was very dry and seemed old. The hot dog itself was tasty and quite juicy. Without a good bun, it's just incomplete. The fries were tasty but even better with the various sauces you could pick. My wife and I had burgers and onion rings today at the Stand. Overall it was a good experience. I love that they have full bar. It's a little less common for counter service restaurants to have a full bar. I had a really good michelada. They don't have any napkins out so you have to ask. That is a pain but I understand if they have a theft issue. Their burgers are really good. When was the last time you ordered a medium rare burger at a counter service restaurant and it was cooked to the right temperature? Yep, both my Onion Soup Burger and my wife's Stack burger were cooked perfectly. They were juicy and delicious. The onion rings were hand battered and crispy. Their ranch (home made) and jalapeno scallion aioli were great dipping sauces. Value? Yeah, I think so. The quality of the food with two beers for about $50 seems pretty reasonable these days. So why not 5 stars??? It's hard for me to give a counter service restaurant 5 stars when you're not getting traditional restaurant service. But make no mistake, if you're looking for a really good burger, the Stand is worth trying. read more

I have been coming to The Stand for a few weeks now, and it has been phenomenal! They have a great, affordable menu with fresh food, and delicious bar drinks. Some of my favorites include the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, the Teriyaki Bowl, the Chili Dog, and any of their handmade milkshakes! There is a fun, relaxing atmosphere, that includes many TV's to watch sporting events. It is clean, aesthetically pleasing, and a great place to eat and drink any time of day! If you're craving a burger this is definitely the place to come to!! SO much variety and they make their own chips and provide free pickles which are very refreshing to add to your burger!! Went here for a dinner with friends before a comedy show and I love that they're open all day so we could head over for an early meal before our 7pm show in Santa Clara! The person taking the order was so friendly and the process is so easy with the huge menus - easy to read and with SO MANY choices - burgers, salads, sandwiches, wraps, tons of sides to pick from in different sizes. And their drink selections are great - I LOVE diet dr. pepper which many places don't serve so I was super happy!!! The drinks are a self serve which is super helpful. They don't leave out napkins but servers walking around are happy to provide extra for you when you ask. So you order - get a number - find a table (which there are many options with high tops, regular seating, bar seating, outdoor seating... The food comes out fairly quickly and it's DELICOUS!! We got the ABC Burger which has avocado, bacon and cheddar cheese! My friends got it and devoured it. They said it was really good... They also enjoyed their sweet potato fries! Love the waffle shape and they had different dips they provided which were delicious. I got the Havarti Shroom! SO GOOD - especially when you add in the pickles! Hubby got the Seared Ahi Tuna Sandwich which he also devoured - having the skinny crispy fried onions provided a lot of texture and flavor. I may have to get that myself next time. And we shared a side of onion rings - crispy - wasn't oily tasty with a super light batter. For a "side" they give you a lot... I also added pics from our first visit there when they first opened. I placed an order today for pickup at around 11:30am. I was not able to input the pickup time which is at 2pm and so I called the location (SANTA CLARA LOCATION) that I wanted to change pick up time to 2pm (10min after I made the order online). The person on the phone told me that the food is ready and there's nothing for me (and for him) to do. I said well I can only pick up the food I paid for at 2pm and he's just like then it'll be ready since it's been made now. The thing is, I don't want to eat almost $40 worth of soggy food. I asked the guy if I could cancel and he said I can't cancel because the food is ready. What kind of customer service is that?? And then he goes to saying that I should've called as soon as I ordered online if I made a mistake and I said I literally did 10min after I made the order and he was like "well it also took us 10min to make the order". Been a fan of this place since it had a different name, here are the deets on the new menu. Same type of flare, same yummy options from fresh salads to yummy overloaded burgers. Delicious shake options, as well as cocktails and beverage bar for non-alcoholic options. Had the chicken salad and Cobb and they were good, lettuce was not super fresh but tolerable. Service was quick and the gals at the cashier were really nice and patient. Competitive pricing and recommend you sign up for their club so you can get some discounts via email. Parking is ample and in a nice area right of the major expressways, recommend as a different option of the fast food around it, but would order ahead from the app or call in, they get busy!
