We decided to check this place out before heading to our hotel on a Monday night in May. My wife looked it up on Yelp and thought this would be something we would like. We arrived about 4:30pm and although the parking lot was very busy, the tavern was not. There were about 5 or so people inside. We ended up finding parking in the shopping area across the street because we were pulling a trailer. The bar area allows you to gamble while watching the many tv's spread throughout the center. There are also several tables on either side. We grabbed a couple of seats at the bar and were provided menus and offered drinks promptly. We quickly decided we wanted to try the Warm Pretzel Fries with house made beer cheese. My wife chose the Crispy Buffalo chicken salad and I ordered the Philly Cheese with tater tots. The pretzel fries arrived quickly and were really tasty dipped in the beer cheese. Our entrees arrived just as we were finishing the pretzel fries. My wife commented she should have ordered it with limited or no buffalo sauce on the chicken. She said it was very hot for her and she just picked at it a bit. I thought the Philly was pretty tasty and the tater tots were nice and crunchy. Overall, this was a good stop and we would recommend checking it out. We did want to note that they do allow smoking which was not something we expected. read more

We had a late lunch at The Standard Tavern and had an amazing experience. Jazzie was our waitress, and she took great care of us. Brought menus and took our drink orders promptly, got our order squared away.and kept checking in on us to see if we needed anything as the meal progressed. I had the Mount Charleston and my wife ordered a pizza. Both were exceptional. Jazzie told us that the cook who prepared our outstanding food was Tony--an amazing cook. I was looking for a place to watch the Knights game and came across the Standard. I walked in and was instantly greeted by the bartender Summer. She had a pleasant smile on her face and was attentive to all the patrons at the bar. I usually find that in local bars if you're not gambling, you get ignored. This was not the case here. The morning the Chiefs played the Bills, I finished working out and checked out this bar. To my surprise, it's a Bills bar! I'm a Chiefs fan but was going to watch the game with a Bills fan. Ambiance - this is a pretty clean bar, the fans cheered for their team and there was no heckling between the Chiefs and Bills fans. Everyone was respectful and everyone was able to enjoy the game. There was one large TV and several smaller TVs around the bar. Service - the service was pretty good. There was only a couple of times my drink was empty and it was hard to get their attention. I couldn't get their Wi-Fi to work, but my hotspot worked so I was able to do some work. Food - the food was really limited. The fries were good, but everything else was just ok. The wings, burger, hot dog, etc. just ok. The hot dog to bun ratio leaned too much toward the bun, no relish to be seen, just ketchup. They should be offering pizza at some point, but it wasn't on the menu yet. I didn't try any of the beers so I don't have an opinion there. Overall - I thought that I would give this place 3 out of 5, but based on what each star means, two stars (could've been better) was the more accurate rating. The Standard Tavern is a new bar restaurant located in Northwest Las Vegas, off of the Durango and 215 exit. It's located next to the EOS fitness and Wingstop. Parking is relatively limited, especially during the evening hours. I was amazed at how nice the bar is inside. The TVs are high quality and there are plenty inside the Tavern. My friend and I ended up sitting at the Bar, which had a wide variety of games available. We were originally watching the football game, ravens vs the dolphins, and had requested to switch one of the TVs to the hockey game at around 7:00 P.M. The team members at The Standard Tavern were helpful and friendly. The gentleman that sat next to us had ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich, which looked amazing! He mentioned that it was delicious! The atmosphere was cheerful and loud! It was quite packed for a Thursday evening. The Standard Tavern was also doing raffles during the half-time for the football game and at the end. We stopped by on Thursday for lunch with a party of 2 and it was a nice experience. We were seated right away in a booth near the bar. There appear to be several seating options; the bar, booths, high back tables and some sofas. The area was clean and there were very few people there at the time. We started with the Chicken Nachos. They were very good, we especially liked the chips, crunchy and tasty. After that we ordered the Black & Blue Burger and The Aviator Burger. The Aviator is HUGE, including 2 full grilled cheese sandwiches as buns. The burgers were cooked perfectly and the tots and onion rings were excellent. The service was great, the waitress was friendly, prompt and professional. The chef also came out to check on us, which was nice. They also make a good margarita, delicious and strong. We got released from the hospital after midnight and after not having anything to eat or drink for 24 hours, we needed something good to turn the day around. The Standard really came through. James was incredible and even though we had never been before he made it feel like our normal spot. After tonight we may just become regulars. The burger was incredible. Best burger I've had, and I've had some great ones here in town. The PB&J burger was the perfect combo I never knew I needed, do yourself a favor and try it. So we decided to try a neighborhood Bar, first off I am not much for Bars and bar food, but we ordered a share plate the Mnt Charleston Melt, it was very good the chicken fingers were huge and were juicy and the fries were crispy, the only complaint about the food is that it did take a long time to get, but I am not sure if that was the kitchen's fault or the bar tenders since she was focused on a specific group at the bar and forgot to check on our order. The Bar is small, the Bar tender was pleasant, but she catered to a specific couple which I found loud and obnoxious which ruined the whole vibe of the place. I was not the only one at the bar that found their loud and fowl mouth scene as a put off others were also annoyed at their behavior. They seem to be regulars and that being said means I probably won't be going back again. It's a shame that it is patrons that are the ones bringing this bar down! read more

Located in the far NW of the valley and conveniently nestled in between Wing Stop and Buffalo Wild Wings, the wings here are a force to be reckoned with! To be specific, I did order their wings with Alabama White sauce! I've never had wings with this distinct flavor profile; zesty, tangy and barely any heat! Texture wise, the wings were fried to the point of precise crispness and and the crunch was bed, bath and beyond good! Those were just the wings! As far as ambience and service goes, the staff; bartenders, servers and cooks - top notch! I can honestly that I haven't had a bad experience here, ever! Let's start with the good. The place looks great inside and out. Staff is friendly and the beer is cold and wet. So as a bar it's great. The family went here for dinner and it was a different story. Staff was still friendly but the food was slow. Everything was cooked well but wayyyyyy over seasoned. The best way to explain it is if you switched all the salt with msg. It was honestly hard to eat and killed the meal for everyone. This may not be the norm but everyone's food had this issue of drastic over seasoning. For the fried pickles I get what other reviews meant about the juice and so on being gone but personally I didn't mind. Forgot the sauce was also good. read more

Don't let the dark interior or sports bar look fool you, there is some serious cooking going on here! My husband had a burger between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches with an egg and was in heaven, onion rings were cooked perfectly. Fantastic , delicious ! Started with fried pickle, they were lightly breaded seasoned great! I had the grilled cheese burger O M G ! Phenomenal it was built starting with a fill grilled cheese sandwich witch by itself was awesome then a big thick juicy perfect burger , cheese, thick bacon then toped with another full grill cheese sandwich ( not just a slice of bread fill sandwich top and bottom it was best sandwich I have ever had hands down came with choices i got perfect onion rings! We stopped in for a visit because one of our all time favorite bartenders, Stefani S. is working swing. What a nice gaming bar. Conveniently located right off the 215/Durango exit. Causal upscale interior and friendly, attentive staff. A much needed alternative to PTs/Timbers/etc. In the Centennial area. We tried some appetizers and really enjoyed the fried pickles and quesadillia. The real surprise was the "after the gym" protein plate. It was fantastic and what a creative way to entice and include the fitness clientele as there is an EOS next door. Can't wait to go back for a visit. read more

Hubby and I were looking for a place to have dinner on New Year's day that wouldn't break the bank. I did some research online and found this place, "The Standard Tavern." I checked out their prices and they looked very reasonable (most foods are under $20 bucks per person). They are tucked away in the Durango Beltway Plaza which means unless you know about this place you won't see it from the street or freeways. However, they are very freeway convenient, just off the 215 FWY at the Durango exit. Personally, I would call this place a sports bar rather than a tavern. They have got a TON of TV's around the top of the bar that's in the center of the room along with a HUGE TV on the front wall. All the screens are crystal clear. I really enjoyed the roominess of this establishment. There's seating at the bar, some sofas, and booths. The ambiance DEFINITELY exudes sports bar. However, the food is OFF THE HOOK!! We both ordered the ribeye with the truffle mashed potatoes, a side salad, and I had a bourbon and ginger ale, while hubby had a glass (or two) or Cabernet. We dine at ALL levels of restaurants from diners to casual dining to bars and grills and higher end places that cost over $150 per person. The ribeye we had at this location was TOP NOTCH!! I ordered the meat medium and my husband ordered medium rare. The steaks were cooked to perfection. They had excellent grill marks and the ribeye steaks were extremely flavorful. The didn't need ANY seasoning, which is always a great indication of a well cooked piece of meat. The mashed potatoes were "smashed" potatoes, if I remember correctly. I'm sure they used a truffle oil in the potato, but the Chef, Ryan, didn't go crazy with the oil. Some chefs pour the oil like it's going out of style. The shrimps were "meaty" and also cooked to perfection. Truly there was NOTHING to improve upon when it comes to the quality and cook of these steaks. The salads were very fresh and the croutons were the BEST I think I've ever tasted. They were big, yet light and crispy. They tasted like they were cooked in an a oil and garlic mix. They should bag those suckers and sell them as snacks!! I would make a special trip just to buy the croutons. We spoke to both the owner, Chris, and the chef, Ryan. Chris mainly runs the front of house. He's VERY personable and checked on us throughout the night to make sure everything was to our liking. Ryan, the chef, came out as well to check on us. We complimented his cooking and told him to please make sure the ribeye stays a staple on the menu. So, delicious and SO affordable. We will definitely be going back for MORE of that ribeye and to explore other dining options, as well. read more

There were less than 10 patrons in the entire bar. My food came out in a timely manner and was preparedness as requested. Amy was very attentive and my drink was never empty. Was also able to get the TV changed to a game I wanted to watch since it wasn't very busy. I also had a Blue Moon that was served in a VERY cold glass! My only gripe is a personal preference. Came here again late last night & was surprised to see a new temporary menu. It looks like they'll be switching more towards pizza and pasta, but burgers are where they really succeed. The VGK burger had a sweet jalapeño jam that you taste first and then the savoriness of the burger hits you later. The chicken quesadilla had a green cream sauce with it that paired really well. Tito's on the beach was a little sweet but hit me hard. We also had a Long Island and it was good & reasonably priced ($12). My husband got the Indigo Tim Collin's drink & he said he would've preferred it less sweet and more bubbly, but I thought it was good. We look forward to the tater tots coming back on the menu. Our server, I think her name is Jade, was sweet & we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Maybe that's not good for the business but we love when we can go somewhere quiet & peaceful for dinner.
