This was after the poor review was posted. i usually never do negative reviews but I also got food poisoning from the spoiled Lobster.
    Chris R.

This place is by far the most overpriced place I have ever ate. it is in a strip mall in a horrible area. I ordered the lobster and had the manager smell it, it smelt sour and had a bad taste. i was not eaten. i also addressed the horrible service by the 19 year old waiters they have. my wife steak came out 15 minutes before all the other food so she waited for the other food and by then her food was cold. I do not mind spending $750 for a meal but between the horrible service and the inability for the manager to do the right thing my the evening unenjoyable and I would recommend everyone stay as far away as possible. i thing my biggest issue is that the manager acknowledged the lobster may be spoiled but still left it on the bill. if you see all my previous reviews i usually never go negative but this place is horrible.

Whoa!!! What an inconspicuous hidden gem in Lomita. Don't let the shopping center fool you!!! Once you enter The Steak Library it's very nice and upscale Vibes! All the food we ordered was amazing! Cooked just the way I like and much flavor. Though I do not eat steak, their seafood options were bomb!!! I ordered the garlic shrimp, crab cakes, lobster Mac &cheese, and Caesar salad that was scrumptious!! The service was elite and beyond accommodating!!! You cannot beat that when it comes to customer service ! Our servers and managers were very amicable and professional! I like the simple fact they open the door for you once you leave. Right next door is their sister restaurant that I also want to try!! They are known for their steaks and tomahawk and they did look quite delicious!! My siblings said their steaks were very good and cooked perfectly! So this is a steak spot !! They only serve wine and beer but they have good selections. It's kind of small inside but it's cute and perfect for many occasions! They get busy so reservations are a must !! I highly recommend and will be back for sure!

Last night, I had the pleasure of dining at The Steak Library with my honey and my brother-in-law--and let me just say, this place is an absolute hidden gem. It's tucked away in a strip mall, but don't let that fool you. The moment you walk in, it feels like you've stepped into another dimension--low-key, cozy, and full of charm. The aesthetics are warm and inviting, setting the perfect tone for an unforgettable night. The food? Incredible. The steaks were perfectly cooked and seasoned, but one of the biggest highlights for me was trying caviar for the first time--and it was absolutely delicious. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was smooth, savory, and such a luxurious touch to the evening. The service is excellent!!

Ordered an aged Porterhouse 40oz steak, I am usually not a big fan of aged steak, however this one is absolutely delicious!!! Very well cooked, not too salty but enough flavor to differentiate it from a fresh steak. It is an elegant, quiet and not crowded Saturday night dinner. House made NY cheesecake is very good, not too dense not too fluffy! In my opinion, wine and beverage on the pricy side. It's $400+ plus tips.

I'm quite torn on the way I'd like to review this restaurant. Nonetheless, my evening was still enjoyable! As a person who absolutely delights in dinner at a good steakhouse, I was slightly disappointed in my steak tonight. Maybe I've been to some supreme restaurants that have created high standards or maybe I was expecting some unparalleled steak at that price. That's not to say it wasn't good, it was but I do believe there were opportunities for enhancement. It just didn't Wow me. So I'll start with the positives. The convenience of booking a reservation and the proximity of this place went hand in hand for two tired parents just trying to squeeze in a dinner date. The ambiance was a romantic vibe with dimmed lights, tied off drapes around the front tables, mirrors along the back wall and piano music playing at the perfect volume. When we walked in we were instantly greeted by Ben. He was also the person to book our reservation over the phone and also waited our table. Very kind young man with exceptional service. Everyone had given us excellent service and were all very attentive to us, I have no complaints regarding service. Now when we opened the menu we just couldn't believe it. We have been to some upscale restaurants before this and couldn't believe that some more established restaurants didn't charge that price for a steak. I feel terrible to keep considering the price in this review, I understand Japanese wagyu is the best of the best but we just didn't feel like taking a leap of faith on it tonight lol. We were given two pieces of bread with two different types of butters. (I really feel they would do better if served a basket of warm bread not two slices but maybe that's just my stomach talking.) After reviewing the menu in shock, we went with the prime new York and ribeye cooked medium, shared a side of asparagus and ordered truffle butter as well...This was the perfect amount of food for us. The steaks were served on a hot plate where you can literally hear the steak sizzle. This is a must for a steakhouse! But immediately after trying to cut my first piece of steak it felt a bit tough. And it was! Instantly disappointed, I felt as though it lacked flavor without constantly having to dip it in the truffle butter we ordered. I couldn't help but I notice my husband had the same look in his eyes without having to say anything at all. So I offered him the truffle butter and it helped with the flavor of each steak. Our asparagus was good it had a soy based sauce and good flavor, some reviews say it was salty but we thought they were cooked just right. So I am not sure if it is because we ordered the prime and not the wagyu but we were disappointed. At the same time I could say I am glad we spent $200 on the prime and not waste $400 on a steak that wasn't cooked to perfection. All in all, this place is worth visiting as it has mixed reviews. People seem to like it, we enjoyed it I believe it has a lot of room to grow and great potential in the South Bay. Maybe move to a more inviting location, perfect their steaks and expand the menu just a little bit. That's just my two cents. I wish them well here and hope to return in the future with an even better experience.

One of the best Valentine's Day steak dinner! We started with the marinated octopus and tomato as the appetizer, followed by a main course of an 8 oz. Filet Mignon for each of us cooked to perfection covered with fresh shaved truffles, sides of creamed spinach and truffled mashed potatoes. This restaurant located in a strip mall in Lomita is a gem of a place! Service is very attentive, cozy atmosphere. They do not have a full bar, only wine, beer, and sake. Although it is a bit pricey, they have a much better quality overall than some of the other high end steak houses. They for sure are much better than Flemings which I feel has gone down hill in my many years of eating there. This will become my favorite steak house from now on! It is conveniently located with a great menu!

Here you can find different types of Wagyu that you wouldn't typically find in most steakhouses in L.A. such as Hida and Olive fed (usually from Shodoshima). They still have the classical Wagyu Kobe and Miyazaki. 1. Cotton candy wagyu: a lot of sweet onion. Not a lot of meat. 2. Bone marrow: good but very oily 3. Bone in rib eye and dry aged Kansas rib eye: meat was a bit tougher than the fillet. Dry aged had a slightly different flavor but overall was not that different. 4. Fillet : tender and flavorful. Would get this again n 5. Hida and Olive Wagyu: too fatty/oily. 1 or 2 slices way enough 8. roasted wild mushroom, mashed potatoes and creamed spinach were good sides.

If you are looking for the ultimate steak experience in the South Bay, The Steak Library in Lomita is on another level. Every cut we tried was perfection. The wagyu was melt in your mouth rich, buttery, and marbled like art. The porterhouse was cooked flawlessly with a perfect crust and juicy tenderness that showed off the chef's skill. The tomahawk stole the show with its dramatic presentation and bold, beefy flavor that somehow managed to be both decadent and balanced. The thick cut bacon was unbelievable, crisped on the outside, smoky and savory, yet tender inside, almost like a steak in itself. The cotton candy wagyu was unlike anything I have ever had, playful, indulgent, and an absolute must try that captures the creative spirit of this place. The Steak Library is probably one of the best steakhouses in California. Every dish is treated with the kind of care and respect that steak deserves. It is not just dinner, it is an experience, and one that I would recommend to anyone serious about quality meat.

The steaks are fundamentally incredible. The staff is top notch and on top of it. Quite spot in a strip mall. Who would have guessed that this place was there. Very impressive Wagyu selection. Went for my birthday and was very impressed especially when the table was decorated with Rose Petals. Great touch to a memorable family evening.

This restaurant has been on my bucket list. I took my mom here for Mother's Day, so I got the chance to finally try it. This restaurant was not what I expected. It was unbelievably cute inside with upscale, high-end fine dining. It's very small inside. The outside of the restaurant looks like it's not much nothing but once you get inside, it's very elegant. They specialize in various steaks, so they have dry-aged steaks from all kinds, but Wagu is their number one seller. Customer service is impeccable, and they are very accommodating. The Food was delicious, I mean the steak melted in your mouth, it was so tender and juicy. We had fried rice, shrimp, crab cakes, Caesar salad, Mac and cheese, truffle mashed potatoes, and lobster with scallops. All the food was was very flavorful, tender. And made with quality ingredients. The drinks were good. They don't have alcohol, but they do have wine and beer. I will come back here. My brother enjoyed the food so much that he talked about it all weekend. Easy parking. Note: This restaurant is affiliated with the Asian restaurant adjacent on the right side. The owner owns both restaurants. I want to try the other restaurant too.

    Cotton candy wagyu 10/10!

When I stepped inside, I felt like I was in a very high end restaurant. Definitely great for fancy date nights and special intimate occasions like birthdays. I've seen at least 2 groups have a server bring out a beautiful dish with sparkly candles. The service and food far exceeded my expectations. Though we RSVPed, they allow walk-ins. The staff was professional, kind, and attentive. They truly made my day! We ordered the cotton candy Wagyu and once I bit into it, I was in heaven. The meat was so tender and juicy and the cotton candy eaten together complimented the salty flavor so well. I've never had anything like this in my life and I was in heaven! The Tomahawk special was also cooked nicely. I ordered medium rare and it was perfectly crispy on the outside and just as mouth watering on the inside. The lobster was delicious as well. I was delightfully surprised by this hidden gem. This restaurant is 10/10 in my book.

The atmosphere at The San Franciscan is dark, cozy, and unapologetically old-school, but the vibe is absolute perfection. A few highlights from my visit: * The Caesar Salad: Honestly a standout. It's done exceptionally well, expertly dressed, and the portions are surprisingly generous. * The Steaks: Whenever I'm in the mood for a proper, high-quality steak, this is my go-to spot. They know how to handle their meat. * The Ambience: Dimly lit and full of classic charm. It feels like a throwback in the best way possible. Would I say they have the best prime rib around? No. But it is pretty damn satisfying. When here, I always order the Franciscan cut Prime Rib cooked to medium (it's 3/4 pounds), house salad with ranch dressing, and steak fries. They throw in a loaf of sourdough bread with whipped butter. The prime rib is very tender and has plenty of fat. We all know fat equals flavor. The only thing I would change about it, and I keep forgetting to ask the server each time I'm here, is to have it served without the au jus already in the plate. Don't get me wrong. The au jus is fantastic, but when the prime rib is served in a pool of it, the meat becomes soggy. Served separately, I think the prime rib would be even better. In addition to the prime rib, the salad and steak fries are incredibly delicious. The salad is nothing fancy, but very tasty due to the ranch dressing it comes with. Wish I knew the recipe of the dressing. The steak fries pair perfectly with the prime rib. It's crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The only thing I would say is pretty average is the sourdough bread. Although it comes out warm, I don't get the sense that they're freshly baked. The service here is phenomenal. The servers are attentive, polite, and efficient. Can't ask for anything more from them. If you're looking for a trendy spot with contemporary decor and pretentious vibes, this place is not for you. This is an old school steakhouse with red upholstered booths and soft music playing in the background. If you live in the South Bay, and you're looking for a classic prime rib experience, this is a place you should check out.

We were not rushed at all. It wasn't cramped or crowded. I loved it! And I'd definitely make this a recurring birthday treat for him. It was absolutely worth it.

No one checked on us, it took way too long to get served and when we finally did, it was with an attitude. Our appetizer order was also forgotten. The restaurant had only 2 tables of guests, including us. Shocking for a Saturday night. So the excuse of being busy isn't going to fly here. We will not be back. Although I enjoyed the food, being ignored and treated like crap doesn't make it worth it. If you want decent food, excellent service by the sea, I'd recommend going to Redondo Beach or Hermosa Beach. ANYWHERE but here!

We ordered a $13.99 personal meal. My wife had the mac & cheese with a salad, and I had the combo pizza with a Caesar salad. We added two drinks for $1.99 each and shared a nutty coleslaw. I was surprised at how large the "personal size" mac & cheese was -- it was very generous. We ended up sharing the pizza, mac & cheese, and coleslaw and still had plenty of food. The meal also came with two personal-size carrot cakes, which we took home for the next day. Even sharing just one was more than enough. Everything was delicious, but the carrot cake really stood out. Super moist, full of carrots and chunks of pineapple, and topped with an amazing cream cheese frosting. The menu says it's made from scratch, and it definitely tasted homemade. Definitely recommend! **After reading some of the 3 and 1 reviews, I'm hoping to have an equally positive experience on my next visit.

Service was great, staff was nice and the place looks good. That's where the positives end unfortunately. The food was honestly terrible. -Mashed potatoes tasted straight out of a packet--gooey, liquidy and cheap. -Breadsticks were weirdly loaded with Parmesan and missing the usual garlic flavor. -Salad was chopped into oblivion no reason. -The tri-tip easily the worst I've ever had from Stonefire. Rubbery, badly seasoned, and felt like low-quality meat. Completely different from what they serve at other locations. -BBQ sauce was off. Way too much black pepper to the point it made me cough. It's definitely not the original sauce. This didn't feel like Stonefire. It felt like a completely different restaurant trying to pass as Stonefire. Really disappointing.

I was pleasantly surprised to see they got an extension to stay till July 11, This place has been a staple of the South Bay for over 50 years and I literally grew up just down the street from here. I remember wondering as child how it was to dine here but it wasn't until I was in college a few years back that I finally got to try this spot out. It's been a go to spot ever since. I've been here with family and friends for various celebrations, occasions and even dineLA (see previous review). I will miss their dine LA specials, Prime Rib Wednesdays, Black Angus Wagon Wheel samplers and Campfeast Dinner for 2. It was always a treat to have their Sky High Mud Pie and their Chocolate Chip Cowboy Cookie for my birthday. I do hope the Torrance location finds another spot. They have been such a big part of the South Bay story and it would be wonderful if they can continue to be part of the Torrance.

I'll jump to the end real quick because this is important .... no fault of the restaurant but in the parking area (I parked far enough so that my car wouldn't be hit by anyone) and some bozo still managed to swipe my entire side front end of my new car. Jerrrrrkoff move of the driver but I guarantee you that karrrrma is going to come back ten-fold to you. What comes around, goes around so I'm not worried about a fish being served cold to you, soon. Ample parking; however not great drivers. Everyone had 7pm reservations and the establishment did great in getting everyone to be seated in an orderly fashion. The staff was welcoming. One patron decided to be the a h o l e of the night and cut everyone in line as she believed she was entitled. Many people were upset with this. Totally understandable. The lady ended up going to the bar with her husband and friend. She is an embarrassment. Again, no fault of the restaurant. We had a great team who worked beyond hard and provided great service. Leo, Candy and Savannah were the main host and cocktail artists. Our server was Thomas. I believe we were so lucky to have him. He provided the utmost exceptional service. I'm all about great customer service and he was excellent. He definitely made our night. My sister and mom had made reservations and my husband and I had another reservation. We were able to sit together. Our daughter came but did not order since she was Keto and did not want to break her ketosis. Kudos to the chef! Everything was savory, heavenly and exquisite. The experience came with; 1st course: Deviled eggs, smoked paprika, crispy bacon, crispy potato chip 2nd course: shrimp cocktail, house cocktail sauce, basil aioli Paired with a limoncello martini featuring Grey Goose Vodka ENTRÉE: Top Sirloin au poivre, mashed Potatoes, grilled asparagus, brandy cream sauce Paired with a cucumber martini featuring Grey Goose Vodka DESSERT: Berry crème brûlée Paired with Key Lime Pie Martini featuring Grey Goose Vodka The price was very reasonable. I loved the limoncello martini and cucumber martini. Grey Goose is my favorite along with crème brûlée so I knew this night would be a good one. Thomas, is such a delight. We hope to see him again. We are astonished by his great service. His attention to detail all the time while providing excellent service with a smile. He was so friendly and made sure we and others were taken care of. This Torrance location has been one that we have come to since I was a little girl. It's really sad to see them closing but I'm looking forward to hopefully seeing all of these lovely workers at the new place. The restaurant has an old school western style and feel.

This place did not merely have the ingredients - it had the reverence. Justin mixed it with the calm precision of a man who understands that some drinks are not trends, but traditions. "Ah yes... the Rusty Nail," say some. "Old, Archaic, Weathered," say others. Let them speak. It is one of the oldest cocktails in recorded history. Gifted by Bonnie Prince Charlie to Clan McKinnon, Drambuie has been cherished and revered in the Highlands since the mists of time gathered - borne through glens, over bens, and carried through generations of clansmen. It is not for the timid. It is for those who have watched storms roll in, seen vast armies gather, and still laughed in the face of death - because they know that their bloodlines are carved from stone. For after all - The strength, courage, and battle across centuries cannot be wrong. Drambuie warms this Highlander's heart . They gave very generous salad portions The grilled salmon was good, well cooked and flavorful. The green beans were definitely overcooked. The ribeye was good (needed some salt though) definitely better with the horseradish than the chimichurri. The ribeye with chimichurri was a special, but the chimichurri did not have much flavor. The baked potato was good, the mash potatoes were ok, I expected a stronger garlic flavor. The shrimp was flavorful but overcooked. The mac n cheese was not creamy, it seemed like just cheese and noodles. Very oily but a generous portion. Overall the best food imo was the mushrooms and salmon. The service was very slow, but they were understaffed so our waitress seemed to be doing all of the work. She was very apologetic about it This place is very old school, and definitely appeals to an older crowd.
