I have been twice for dinner. The food has always been on point, hot, fresh and taste is good. Service can be mediocre depending on staff. Last night was amazing and very attentive. The dinning area can be loud, but it's a bar so that is to be expected. The beauty of it is you can go with a date or on a date night and hear good music and have dinner and drinks, or take the family and enjoy music and a good meal for all. The menu is wide ranging so something for everyone. The only complaint, solo cups beers, I prefer something with some structure. read more

Came to eat with my cousins and ordered fried pickles and chips and salsa. Everything was pretty good. Waitress was really nice and prompt. I ordered the chicken fried chicken and only ate a portion of it since I got stuffed on fried pickles and chips. The only issue I had was that the chicken fried chicken was really thin. Mac was really cheese and good. Mash tater wear really creamy. The place was really nice and clean. I know my cousin ordered the chicken fried steak, and he didn't like that the breading fell off the steak. Breaking stayed on my chicken, so I don't know what all that was about. Great customer service. Fun atmosphere. Very enjoyable live music. I had a passion fruit frozen margarita and it was terrific! We had fried pickles, as our appetizer and they were delicious! I'm a vegetarian, so I ordered the veggie tacos and they were really good! My husband had a chili burger that he really liked, our son had a blue cheese burger with grilled onions, that he really enjoyed. Their fries are thick and crinkle cut--my favorite kind of fries! We had THE BEST night at The Stix Icehouse in McKinney. After some suggestions from neighbors, we took a chance. Vibe was so chill. Food was outstanding (I had the Low Country Boil-DELISH). Service was excellent. (Ask for Brent! So good!). Kids loved playing in the field and even challenged Papi to a few games of tetherball. (I WAS the elementary school champ!) The Stix Icehouse is located off Eldorado Pkwy right at the intersection of S College St. We kinda stumbled upon The Stix Icehouse when we were looking for places to eat and it turned out to be a great decision. This place has a really nice menu with just about something for everyone, plus they have some pretty good beers on draft. I went with the Fire Engine Red, which is a red ale from Hop and Sting Brewing Company. I decided to go with the Frito Pie during my visit and it did not disappoint. Chili and Fritos just seem like a perfect match. The sun started to set as we were eating so we really didn't get a change to take a look around the grounds which is a bummer. Being on 14 acres, I'm sure there's a ton of space to have fun. Next time I'd come back when it's a lot warmer, definitely not when there's an arctic blast blowing through so I can hang outside to enjoy good food and good beers. See ya at The Stix! read more

The service has gone down hill since my visits from last year. It was not very busy but we were slow to be served. The food prices have gone up quite a bit since 2023. In the past it would hard to get a table on Saturday night but we're able to find a table outside right away. The menus were really dirty and sticky and the glass doors were filthy. The drinks used crushed ice, which is okay with tea but NOT mixed drinks. The ice melted so fast my mojito was watery. Our food was good. read more

It's pretty hot right now, but I bet when it cools down a bit, the patio would be a great place to enjoy yourself and hang out. First time visiting this location and it has an interesting decor inside, enjoyed looking at the record and 8 track wall. And enjoyed the patio area/deck. Plenty of options of beer, unfortunately the tap beer I selected was warm from the tap and had to ask for another option. When looking at the menu, the grilled bologna sandwich sounded so interesting and it was good with the smallest bunch of fries. The additional draw back is the parking. Just not enough. Had to park across the street at the appraisal districts office. No signs posted about no parking and my vehicle was there when I return. Maybe your experience will be different. read more

A group of us went there for my birthday last Friday night. Started out great. We were drinking Cosmos which were good. One of our Nurses ate a shrimp taco and got incredibly sick. The lack of empathy was nonexistent. They thought it was the alcohol. They were very rude about it all. We will not be returning. Had to break up the peices by hand. It had a few tomatoes, 1 crouton...too expensive for what it was. Hub got two super thin slices of avocado on his sandwich, an absolute joke. Our server didn't come around to ask us how we were, so basically, they lost cocktails business, as my hub was wanting to order one. I love the porch and the space.
