It was then about 10-15 minutes until she came to take our food order. We then waited over 45 minutes before we finally asked where our food was. We were told that they were working on it. Our waitress must have went off shift because we did not see her anymore. I guess there was a question about our order and no one bothered to ask us. When it was clarified, we then waited another 10 minutes until our order trickled out one plate at a time. We did not receive any kind of explanation or an apology. Excellent experience through and through! The wait time to get in was well worth it but even then, a 40 min wait during breakfast rush hour isn't bad at all. The service upon arrival was great! Greeted by 2 different employees while the host was seating others and over all customer engagement was top notch. Now... for the food. If you're looking for a spot that delivers on clean, quality breakfast food cooked by a chef who from the moment you walk in, clearly looks like they're enjoying their job, this is the spot. I decided on the morning sauté which had 2 poached eggs, lots of veggies, and wheat toast. It was both healthy and delicious. There were several other things on the menu that I wanted to try, but that will have to wait for another day. Also had the opportunity to chat with the owner and some of the staff as well. Bottom line: fantastic food, great service, trying mightily to accommodate summer holiday demand with reduced capacity due to COVID-19. Well worth the wait, with great ambiance and soundtrack. I caught brunch here on a Sunday morning, fresh off Juneteenth. Wait times are never fun, but whatever the staff says, believe it! They estimated 45 minutes, and a staffer called my name at 40 minutes on the dot. With morning shade, waiting in front of the real estate office next door was fine. Not wanting to venture far, I admired the Iris Flare flower garden just to the west. Coffee is available while you wait. I noticed two staff wearing MANY front-of-house hats - taking reservations, estimating for many party configurations, getting food, checking in with customers, settling up. (Another person occasionally came out to serve a to-go bag.) Everyone handled things well despite the rush - while fielding questions or joking with this repeat customer or that local. No one got a brush-off. It was truly something. The restaurant was quite full, with many to-go bags streaming out the door. I overheard apologies. Juggling so many to-go orders may have made certain dine-in orders take longer. "Longer" seemed fine! I waited at most 20 minutes for a full order, seated at a great outdoor table just outside the door. Dining with a group and some conversation, it'd have been a blink. The Oregon steak and egg special was excellent, done to order (medium-well steak, scrambled eggs). I'm no steak snob, but it was just-right peppery, maybe a Montreal blend? The herbed butter melted away into the meat and seemed to blend in, not overwhelm. Just right against the fluffy scrambled eggs. Country potatoes were nice, lightly fried, not tiny bricks. (Hot sauce and ketchup both offered!) The asparagus was VERY fresh and tender. What a nice treat! Many reviewers mention the biscuits. Mine was heavenly - tall, fluffy, layered but not break-apart flaky. Fresh and warm, it was Choice. After cooling off and with some signature jam, it was eating desert first - despite coming last. It's simply that good. Absolutely worth the trip. Given the circumstances, it was extremely impressive. I can't imagine how well this place operates in easier times. Took over 45 min for our food and they didn't even know that 2 of our entrees were never brought out. Food is OK here. A little on the pricy side; altogether a pretty solid diner experience though - consistently friendly service and nice atmosphere. I think it's best to stick with the basics here, most everything I've tried here over $15 has felt pretty disappointing - especially the omelettes. They do warn you in advance, but 3 eggs to an omelette ends up feeling like a pretty small serving. In the case of the PNW omelette, it was a little on the salty side, which is maybe inevitable given what they put in it, and I didn't really like how the spinach was cooked. I think it would've come together a little nicer if the spinach was maybe just blanched in advance rather than thrown into the pan with the rest of the filling raw? But maybe that's just my personal preference or it would be significantly less convenient to store or whatever. Eggs benedict was pretty nice. Hollandaise wasn't amazing but as a plate the eggs were cooked perfectly and all came together quite nicely. French toast was nice, cute plating, definitely a nice subtle citrus flavor to the batter, on its own felt like one of the better options on the menu. Biscuits were fine, didn't seem especially fresh. Gravy was not great but not terrible. Definitely wouldn't want to order a big plate of them. Be prepared to wait if you're planning to just show up with a party, it may be less common since COVID but they tend to be pretty busy on weekends. From the kids food coming 15min after the adults at the table to us having to go find our server 3 times asking for things we had ordered to never getting a coffee refill. Without telling us any updates, we ended up waiting 1.5 hrs when we could have been walking around. Super unorganized and disappointing. The waitstaff was super friendly and the location is sublime, located right in the heart of Bainbridge. The food, though, was on another level. I mean...i could scarf down 50 of those fresh biscuits with jam, no problem. The spinach salad was amazing, chock full of walnuts, blue cheese and bacon. The hashbrowns were the perfect diner hashbrowns, crispy and flavorful. My wife's burrito was massive and stuffed with veggie chili, hashbrowns, spinach and cheese. Told 20 minutes it was an hour plus. 3 adults 2 kids. Food service came out 1 at a time with the child getting his last 30 min after the first was served ( getting his waffle and his eggs and meat after he finished his waffle. The chili was lukewarm. We came here because of the outdoor seating where we could be with our dog. After waiting 45 minutes for a table, we put in our order and waited. The first order came in with a mistake as the easy over eggs were almost hard over. Ten minutes later my chili dish came without the side of avocados. And it was luke warm. Another 5 minutes later the 3 rd came and it was perfectly cooked. The 4th dish came after another 5 minutes and it was wrong again as it had bacon within the potato dish and my wife explicitly asked for them to hold the bacon and put it on the side. Another 10 minute wait for my grandsons waffle. But we had to ask for the eggs and sausage and bacon side. He waited for at least five minutes. The food tasted good but the timing of the servings and the errors spoiled what we hoped was to be a good brunch. read more

My friend and I went here because of the good suggestion from other people and we were very disappointed with the service here. We waited for around 15mins before we got seated, which was fine considering the space was pretty small. After we were seated, it took the waitress another 15mins to come to our table to take our order and water. We was still patient, as the space is busy. However, what got us was that we waited for 30mins and our food was not ready yet; people who were seated after us had already had their food at this point. We checked with the waitress and she said food was prepared by order and she would check to see what's up. 15mins later, she came back saying that the order was putting back by accident and they were working on it now. NOT EVEN A SORRY. LIKE WHAT TYPE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THIS! The waitress also did not check on us at all during our stay, not even to fill our water. We were very upset with the customer service. In term of food, we ordered salmon egg benedict and pulled pork omelette. The food was actually pretty good, that was why the place is popular. The pulled pork is very tender and nicely seasoned. There are two things that surprises me about Streamliner Diner: 1. How mediocre their breakfast is. 2. Nobody has yet mentioned how amazing dinners are at Streamliner. Its interesting to see how different breakfast and dinner is at this place. Breakfast is usually busy, packed and has a diner feel while the dinner service has a laid back yet intimate vibe. As I already mentioned, I had breakfast here once and I thought it was medicocre. I ordered their A.B.C.L.T. (Avocado, Bacon, Garlic Cream Cheese & Tomato on Whole Wheat). I think it could have been better without the garlic cream cheese since it overwhelmed the sandwich and honestly, I could have just made this at home. I also sampled their omelettes and waffles, both are ok but I definitely had better at other breakfast spots. If anything, I have dined at Streamline Diner several times and I have always been impressed with everything I've tried so far. I usually go for their pasta dishes since their pasta is so good. So far, my favorite pasta dish has to be the linguini with clams, prawns and halibut in a saffron seafood brodo. This dish definitely did not skimp on the seafood either! It was a good thing I had a small portion or else it would have been too much food. I also like their clams which are done just nicely. The menu does change often and I always look forward to new dinner items. The Streamliner is a great place to grab dinner, especially if you are looking for decent pasta entrees. read more

This is THE spot for breakfast on B.I. Located on the left just a few blocks from the ferry terminal, this local staples acts as a gateway to the main drag. Food is aplenty, service nice and the feel of the place is just lovely! The omelettes are consistently fantastic. My wife had the A-B-C-T (avocado, bacon, jack cheese and tomato) omelette and it was amazing! The kicker however was the biscuit! These guys are to die for and when paired with the strawberry and/or raspberry jams - this stuff is good enough to spoon by itself! I had the chicken sausage scramble - again awesome! It was like a delicious bomb went off on a farm and it all landed on my plate! Paired with the biscuit and some of the better hashbrowns ever ever and we had one of the better breakfasts ina long while. The coffee was great and they kept my mug full the entire time!
