We were served by Norma Jean who just knocked our socks off by providing hot water in our coffee cups to ensure our coffee mug would stay hot, offered hot cocoa to our kids and even getting them straws to help drink them easier. We had every single condiment you could need plus a few extra thrown in for good measure. After rearranging the table then our waitress to come for our drink order. Then we waited for quite a while to get our meals, The banana French toast was good and that was the high of our meal. Cheesy Grits consists of a slice of kraft cheese thrown on top. Hash browns with onions is hash browns with raw onion thrown on top The biscuits and gravy was advertised to come "covered in gravy" and there was barely enough to cover the biscuit. It's seems that either the management or the cooks do not care about how the food is prepared here because this was subpar. Was recommended by the waitress at our resort. Was met at the door with the most rude service ever. We were seated and then the next lady came up and asked who seated us because she seats everyone. The table beside us had been waiting over 20 minutes for their food and was told they had at least 20 more minutes, nothing they could do, they were busy. I could care less how good the food is, I take respectful away service over food quality any day. We walked out and the lady chipped at us, whatever we have enough customers anyway! Wow, just wow. Just barely in the front door someone is greeting you asking how many and if you would like inside or outside seating. We chose inside because of the hot humid weather this morning. Started with coffee and placing our orders. I ordered the pigs breakfast which is 2 eggs, home fries, bacon, hand formed sausage patties and 2 pancakes. Food literally came out in 5 minutes! If you're not a local avoid this place. We sat inside which was our first mistake, didn't see there was an outside seating option til we were leaving with much different waitresses. The moment we whetted the door we felt unwelcome by the high pitched squeaky voice brunette that works inside this shoebox and she only caters to the locals. Asked for milk for hubs coffee and the nasty waitress snapped that it was milk in the container left to sit out on the table all morning. So I asked for creamer since I use creamer and her answer was they don't have any. So what she said was milk was really creamer and she was too lazy to go get him some milk for his coffee. How do you run a business? There are 11 tables inside and 3 bar stools. There is so much crap on the tables that it takes up half the table. I wish I took a picture. Every condiment you can think of so they don't have to bring you anything. Was disappointed bcuz this place was referred to us by a local as a great breakfast place. The food was good, I had the blueberry pancakes and they were full of blueberries and not sparse. Coffee was lukewarm like other reviews state. Hubs had the fried streak and eggs and it had really great flavor. At least the cooks get it done right regardless if you're a local or not. The biggest reason for the one star if not already bcuz of the nasty waitress is that they only take cash. Ok so what's wrong with that? There are no signs saying they only take cash, no one tells you yet only take cash until you go up to pay. Shockingly they have an ATM next to the register with a $1.50 withdrawal fee. I had the crab cake benedict, my mom had the lobster benedict, dad had a traditional breakfast, and the boyfriend had the grits and grunts. Those of us that got unique meals enjoyed them quite thoroughly. The seafood was fresh everything was seasoned and cooked perfectly. My only complaint was that the crab cake benny was tad too rich for me, but I think that's to be expected b/c normal crab cakes are a rich meal...without the poached egg and hollindaise! But it was still great. Not sure if I would recommend before a day of outdoor activity, though. My dad said his breakfast was just ok, good, but nothing special. It is a local joint with awesome hostess(Tiera who is super sweet), our server is friendly and helpful. Each time we visit Marathon for over 6 years, we have to stop here at least one time. I was so hungry that I didn't take pictures of my party's food and my dish was half eaten. I strongly recommend the Chicken fried steak, I cannot stop eating both the steak and licked all the gravy; very unladylike. The pork chops, corned beef hash are hash browns are all must try. We've had good days here before. Today was not that day. The good: - outdoor seating is nice, shaded, cool with plenty of overhead fans. - Decor is very cute with tropical tiki theme and cartoon characters. - outdoor bathroom is really nice and clean - one of the servers is very charming and a real hoot - overall atmosphere is nice The bad: - odd serving system. They serve tables in order. You will see two servers doing nothing because their list is empty, and your drink glass sits empty while waiting for your server to refill or take your order. We were told to wait until our server gets to us on her list. Ugh. - ordered bloody Mary with olives, but came without. The check was dropped at the table, but the server never came back to check on us. She would have had sold at least 2 more drinks and some more food if she would of stopped back by. After sitting for 15 minutes after we were done with our meals I had to get up and find the server to ask if I could pay her. She said they didn't take credit cards, but there was an ATM in the restaurant. Since I was on vacation I wasn't carrying any cash. Went to the ATM and it said on the machine that the business is charging me 1.50 for using the ATM. After paying 12.00$ for a shrimp omlette does the owner really need to charge me another 1.50? There is something very wrong with taking advatage of customers because they didn't know the cash only policy, even if it was only for a couple bucks. Shrimp omlette was cooked perfectly and had loads of fresh shrimp and my dinning companion loved her lobster omlette. If you are driving through the keys and are hungry this is definitely the spot to stop at. It is setup like a old mom and pop truck stop diner. The staff is very friendly, and you get great diner fair. The food was good, and it came out fast. My fiances toast came out buttered when she asked for dry but they happily replaced it which was nice. Very reasonably priced as well. The Stuffed Pig was probably my favorite restaurant during our entire trip through the keys - and to think that we almost didn't stop in. The restaurant is small (10 tables), and it has an equally small parking lot. We had to squeeze into a spot that may not have really been a parking spot, but it was worth it. Service here is friendly and quick - but with a dining room about the size of our living room, servers can see everything going on without so much as turning their heads. My wife got a standard egg breakfast - eggs, toast and potatoes - and raved about them. But what sold me was that I saw they had egg sandwiches on rolls. I tried not to get my hopes up, and asked what kind of rolls. "Kaisers, they're actually pretty good." Lady, you don't need to sell me on egg sandwiches on kaiser rolls. In the 14 years I've lived in Florida, I've yet to find anyone else who has served them on kaiser rolls like they should be. I got mine with bacon, and it was PERFECT. The egg was fried perfectly, there was a bit of cheese and the salty bacon balanced it all out just right. Even better was the fact that the sandwich was less than $3.
