This is my first time here and the service deserves no star. The table was not clean, glasses looked dirty, asked for a straw but didn't get that until I finished the water. I brought my boyfriend to the Sushi Joint 2 for a casual celebratory meal after a busy day of indoor sky diving. The birthday cake I brought had barely survived the trip to Beaverton from Vancouver and then to Camas for dinner. I sheepishly asked our server, Elizabeth, if she could just put it in the fridge for me until after dinner and maybe try to "pretty it up" any way she could. I fully realize that it was NOT her job to fix up my sorry looking cake but just asked anyway. A few friends joined us eventually and we placed our order. By this time, Elizabeth had checked on us a few times and brought us a few cold beers. When the table was full, we placed our large order and sat visiting. The sushi came quickly and was absolutely beautiful! Everything was made fresh to order, delicious, and inexpensive as far as sushi goes. Elizabeth took a birthday photo for us, brought a take out box for the few pieces we were too full to finish, and brought out my ugly cake. Except it wasn't ugly anymore. She fixed it!! She said she just kind of pushed it together and fixed the frosting as best she could. She also rounded up a candle and sang the birthday song with us. We left full, happy, and feeling so grateful to be well taken care of. We will definitely go back to the Sushi Joint 2. Great food, great prices, great staff, great service. Just go! read more

Best Sushi in town! Great atmosphere and service was fantastic.

Where do I start... The food is amazing, that's why we keep coming back. However, the service is horrific. The last three times we have been met at the door by a server with a very negative persona. She is trying her best, but we just wonder about what negative comment will come next. We have shown up at 7, just to be made sure that we know they close at 8. We have waited more than an hour and a half with only 3 tables filled. There is no noise, and when there is, it is usually a violent TV show on the history channel. Clearly they are in need of some new employees. Something needs to change or they are going to go out of business here soon. read more

Don't under estimate this out of the way joint, high quality sushi, greats rolls... we love it!

I typically rate a restaurant based on food quality, price, service, cleanliness. This place has it all. The sushi joint is very clean. The light music in the background is perfect. The service is always top notch. The owner and his wife, and staff make you feel like your an old friend they haven't seen in a while. I've been in while it's busy and not so busy and it doesn't matter, it's always great service. The sushi is made fresh when you order it. Not sitting waiting for you to eat or order it. The prices are great for the amount of food you get and the quality and quantity. I'm almost afraid to leave a great review because I don't want to wait in line the next time I go. I got a take out order from the sushi joint. I ordered the Washougal roll. Their customer service was great, the person I spoke told was very patient and helped me pick a good roll & told me about popular rolls they have. The sushi itself is great quality, definitely fresh. They really take their time with the packaging of it & made even the take out look really cute. I highly recommend and I'll be going back there! Great tasting food, great service, seating is ok, a bit pricey.

I used to really like this place but the people who work there can be a mixed bag. I just walked in to place a Togo order and was rudely told that they could not do it because the rice had 10 minutes to cool. No idea why I was not offered to take my order and advised it would've 20 minutes. Which.... would not have been an issue because I had an appointment next door. Not sure if I will return now. So I've thinking about the incident that I witnessed yesterday while dining here all day/night and deciding whether to write this review or not- I figured that since I am still thinking about it I probably should. I was dining at this spot yesterday when I witnessed the owner (he identified himself as such) losing his cool and began to berate another customer. I mean he lost his marbles. In general I don't witness people mistreating each other, but to see this from the owner behave almost abusively towards a pair of customers kinda freaked me out. I'm a Camas resident, a parent, and have frequented this place before and the behavior that was displayed by the owner was not cool. I told my partner I didn't want us coming here anymore and especially not with our kids. It was pissing me off to imagine this being my family. One of the little girls he was yelling at was in tears hugging her mom looking pretty freaked out. The whole situation was pretty messed up. The ironic thing is that the owner has this sign saying "Good vibes only", probably to serve as a reminder to himself to check his temper. Cant say I'll return. read more

The food is very good. Solid sushi in an area where there is none. Service is about as bad as it gets unfortunately. I won't eat in ever again, because the servers are all very unpleasant and act as if I'm an inconvenience. Take out is just add bad though. I'm sorry. So want this place to succeed. Like the 4th place in this spot in the last year maybe. The cucumbers are the size of Texas cut for their sushi. The ambiance is absolutely nothing. The alcohol license they are working on. The tables are awkward and small and the chairs uncomfortable. If you weren't prepared to open, why then when you obviously aren't ready? Nothing for kids. This is Camas. You are in the burbs. Ramen noodles like most sushi restaurants? I'd vote yes if you want kids to be able to have something to eat if their palettes aren't mature enough. That weird space with mirrors and carpet???? Get rid of it. Someone! The TV with weird Discovery Channel and violence like shows? Really? No music? Really? You close at 8 and turn people down anywhere near 8 o'clock? You can afford that? I'd say put some love into your place and some love into the sushi. I could put it on my never list but I would give it one more chance and then forget it. I'd love for it to make it, but at this point not worth the money. Tried calling to place an order for pick up. The lady asked if she could set the phone down real quick.....well I spent SEVERAL minutes waiting for her to pick me back up. Their weekend hours leave much to be desired. 8:00 pm on a Friday night, guys? Really?! The first time we tried to go, we didn't realize they closed at 8:00 on a Friday (I've never heard of such a thing!). It was 7:53 and everything inside seemed to be in shut-down mode. We didn't even bother going in. Given their prime location, I hope the owners reconsider their weekend hours, as it might serve them quite well to do so. Never had sushi before. It was great. Tables a bit high, I'm short but the food and the service omg it was fantastic. The poor server was serving, cleaning tables, greeting customers, doing dishes and still giving A1 service. She was all smiles even though she was doing everything, except preparing the food. I enjoyed the food and great server, thank you. Exceptional service. I will go back just to see Rebecca the server smile. To start, the sushi was quite good and once our order was placed, it came out timely. The rating on this review is based solely on the service and we would give it fewer stars if we could. The entire experience with the waitress made us wonder if we were being punk'd, since it was beyond belief how ridiculous it was. There were no more than 3 full tables in the restaurant the entire time we were there, but we joked that we were being served by Dory from Finding Nemo since everything we asked was a surprise, even though it had been the 3rd, 4th or 5th time we asked. Wipe down the table? A 3 stage, 25 minute process. A drink? "Oh yes, I'll get that really quick." (15 minutes later and several other people come and go with no acknowledgment and total shock when we STILL asked for the drink). 4 plates for 6 people, "I guess I'll bring some "extra" plates." Spicy mayo on the side? Again, total shock that we had previously asked for some. Overall, it was probably the worst service ever seen in a restaurant and we can't imagine what it would be like with more than 3 tables because she had a complete inability to multitask or even do one task. Near the end of the meal came a verbatim quote overheard from her talking to someone else, "I feel like being lazy today." Mission accomplished. read more

The sushi is great very fresh tasting! However they have not changed the decor at all from when it was flutes and rocks. Does not have the ambiance of a sushi place. They also didn't have cups with kids for kids even though they claim to be a family restaurant and when I tried to make that suggestion they said, "we welcome your kids but we are not a kids restaurant." Even the brew pub down the street has cups with lids. The server was very friendly and tried to be accommodating. read more

Great Sushi!! Very clean. Fresh food with a beautiful presentation. We had the Vegas Roll, SO good, California rolls, veggie rolls and cucumber rolls. All very good!!! Glad to have a sushi joint in Camas!!!!! read more
