I was craving carne asada fries and found this spot on Yelp. Ive never been here before so of course I was excited. Let's get to the ratings. Carne asada fries (no beans) 7.5 out of 10 Tomatoes were finely chopped with lime and placed right on top of the fries. The carne asada was perfectly seasoned and served in a generous portion, making this easy to share. Overall, it was really good, but I do wish the tomatoes weren't so juicy since they made the fries soggy pretty quickly. Shrimp tacos 4.5 out of 10 Shrimp is deveined (thank goodness) and well seasoned! The tacos were loaded with huge portions of shrimp, which definitely made them worth it. The only downside was the sauce... it made the taco shell soggy really fast and completely overpowered the rest of the flavors in the taco. Overall it wasn't bad but I don't think I'd order this again. I came on a Friday night and it was pretty busy. Customer service was great. They were properly staffed, friendly and got our orders out relatively quick. Location was pretty clean. Salsa bar was well kept and not sus. Utensils were well stocked. Overall, I'd come back again and order the carne asada fries and make modifications.

I ordered from this place on DoorDash for the first time and all of this came out to $17.55... $4 per taco even though it has a double tortilla... they're so small, and in the photo it shows 4.5 tortillas with a picture of 4 tacos. If I had known each taco would cost $3.50 in person plus $4 on the app, I would have gone to another taqueria.

The potato tacos are very good! Everything I've had from here has been good. I've been here several times. I love their salsas too. You might have to wait because they're making your food fresh to order. It is cozy inside the restaurant.

Food was pretty good! The Al pastor wasn't really Al pastor in my opinion, it kinda just tasted like seasoned meat. The lengua and cabeza were pretty tasty though! Salsas were just salsa and birria could've used a little love. Horchata was tasty. I could see myself stopping by if I was in the area but I did feel like the food was pretty pricey for what you got. Inside was clean but unfortunately did not have public restrooms. Worker was nice and helpful.

Small local but super busy taco shop! Love the late night opening hours! & the food is so authentic! The salsas & hot sauces are delicious, the food here does not disappoint, cravings always satisfied! I could eat here daily! Lol

    Unmelted cheese in the quesadilla

I was craving tacos and this came up in my search for a good place! The parking lot is a bit tight but I found a spot and headed in. Inside it is a very small place; just a few tables and there is no public restroom (yes this means no restroom for customers!). There is a little cart with salsa and toppings such as cilantro and onions. A woman took my order and I Was hoping to just get a couple tacos but was told the potato tacos only come in a 3 pack. I ended up getting a quesadilla instead, with carne asada inside. The quesadilla also has cilantro and onions inside but you can order without if you want. $13 for a quesadilla is steep, but the carne asada mainly boosts it up. It was a quick wait before getting my food. Immediately I noticed the cheese was hardly melted. The outside was a toasty brown but the cheese needed to be melted. Carne asada tasted fine, but this was an expensive quesadilla to not be done well. The salsa were my favorite part; there was a decently spicy creamy green one, a classic salsa Verde, and a red hot sauce. All were great! Unfortunately I just didn't enjoy the quesadilla and ended up throwing away half of it. Their tacos are probably what they are known for, as it's in their name. I would love the option to mix and match and order all tacos individually or one of their 3 sets with a combination of different tacos including the potato taco! I will end on one last note that their agua frescas look delicious. There was an orange one that was very tempting but I chose not to get a drink.

Sorry to say this, but the Alpastor tacos were horrible, I was not here to order charcoal. The asada tacos were okay not 100% good but ok. Felt like chewing on pebbles......

The food was just ok... to be honest nothing special! I ordered a Mulita but I've had better from a taco truck... We felt that the service was kind of rude... food was definitely overpriced! Location was easy to find... small, clean! Probably won't ever go there again.

This is a good place to go for a huge menu with a lot to choose from. It's the one place I know in the area that sells birria ramen, taquitos, and Tacos de papa(potato tacos). The birria ramen comes with a lot of meat, and the tacos de papa are stuffed and pretty good. The taquitos are fine, the meat sometimes feels dry, but with the toppings, they're good. Is not the best I've ever had, but it's convenient and scratches the itch.

Our clinic got catering from The Taco Boss recently - no complaints! We got 20 tacos of each - al pastor, carne asada, and pollo (chicken). They really do not skimp on the protein here - every taco was overflowing with meat. I took one of each protein - the pollo was my favorite. Each bite was full of flavor - and it was choice cuts too. Nothing stringy or bony (as I've had from chicken tacos from other taco spots. Toppings and salsa were plentiful - we had three large bowls of different salsas, as well as limes, cilantro, and onions. Food was well packaged and stayed warm and fresh. I think there were chips provided as well, but none were left by the time my team got to the tacos.

    Asada fries, amazing!

We were in Anaheim for an Angels game and needed to find some good food. Luckily, we found The Taco Boss. The asada fries were absolutely amazing, loaded with meat and packed with flavor. The portions were huge, way more than two people could finish, so we ended up taking most of them to go. We also ordered both the asada and pollo street tacos, and they were equally delicious. Fresh, flavorful, and exactly what you want from a great taco spot. One thing we really liked was the salsa bar, which let us try a few different salsas and add as much heat as we wanted. No frills, no gimmicks, just great food, generous portions, and reasonable prices.

    Birria Tacos
    Andrea H.

Decent late night taco shop, but a little pricey. I've definitely had cheaper Mexican food. The birria tacos were pretty good and the consume was packed with flavor. Tacos were average. Mulita was decent and filled with melted cheese! Would not recommend the rice, it was bland and lacked flavor. The horchata was also not that memorable.

    Yes we do

Is this place gluten free? Unsure if they had or train their staff to answer questions with dietary restrictions. Correct me if I'm wrong but they should have nutritional guidelines etc.

My wife and daughter both have celiac and have never had a problem here. We come in about every 2 weeks and they have had the street tacos, vampiros, mulitas, asada fries, and birria. All of the meats have been safe as well.

The carnitas themselves are the star--tender, juicy pork that's been slow-cooked to perfection with that signature crispy edge on some pieces, delivering rich, savory flavor without being overly greasy. It's seasoned just right, with a nice balance of porky goodness and subtle spices that let the meat shine. Wrapped in a large, fresh flour tortilla (they make their own in-house, which always helps), it's stuffed generously with the classics: fluffy Mexican rice, creamy refried or whole beans (depending on your preference, but both work great), chopped onions, cilantro, and a solid dose of salsa. I went with their green salsa for a bright, tangy kick that cuts through the richness perfectly, plus a dollop of sour cream and cheese for that creamy melt. No skimping on portions here--it's hearty and filling, easily a meal that satisfies for hours. At around $10 (give or take, based on current pricing), it's a great value in the area. The burrito holds together well without falling apart mid-bite, and the overall balance of textures--tender meat, soft rice/beans, crisp onions--makes every mouthful enjoyable. If you're in the mood for classic carnitas done right in a casual, bakery-taqueria spot with great salsas and a friendly vibe, this one's definitely worth grabbing. I'd rate it 4.5 out of 5--only docking half a point because it's not reinventing the wheel, but it's executing the traditional style exceptionally well. Highly recommend if you're near 728 N Tustin St in Orange! Pair it with an horchata, yum
