Has gone soo downhill the past few years! Went to a concert here, bartenders rude, the whole place was FREEZING! I had on a jacket and they turned the fans up during the concert. Multiple were complaining and asking to third the fans back down to what they were on. Sound system kept making the most awful high pitch noise throughout all the sets. Nice bar to enjoy food and drinks with music. They offer karaoke every Monday night. A definite favorite by locals. The food was good and priced decent being its a recession. Suggest the fried pickles and the Mac and cheese sandwich. The drinks were not good. Not enough alcohol for the price. Luckily I got a drink during happy hour but still wish I could have gotten my money back. It's a 3 dollar cover for guys on Mondays. I believe there is a cover for guys every night but not sure. I was visiting with a friend on vacation to that location, the tap. The bar leaders didn't give us his name or the person who served us didn't want to give a name. Nobody had name tags and didn't want to clarify with a price. A menu wasn't provided. Those individuals showed hatred to the customer not announcing or letting us understand the amount of the purchase prehand and after without showing receipt which was already paid for explicitly displaying modern day racism. They do not allow 10wk old puppies on a patio after 9pm on Monday evenings. The manager said that it is for safety reasons- "we dont know what will happen after 9pm." If I could give zero stars as a review I would. My daughter and I were in town for a softball showcase with her team. When she and her team did the Escape room next door, myself and another mom decide to have a beer and wait for them to be done. The Tap was holding a Harry Potter trivia night on 10/29/2021 so we sat bartop watching the Houston/Brave game. The atmosphere seemed fun and we were enjoying ourselves, it wasn't until a couple days later that I figured out one of the BARTENDERS a female stole my debit card information and reserved a room at Days INN with my account. I know this because it was the only place in College Station, Texas I used my debit card, as I always use a credit card for points but I had switched pants leaving it at my room, which wasn't the DAYS INN. I tried multiple times to contact them through phone and email and never got a response. When I did finally get through and spoke to a bartender she was rude and didn't care what I had to say... She basically had the attitude of "go pound sand" and could care less. Maybe she's the problem, IDK but the manger wasn't willing to come to the phone. If your visiting from out of town or just a local patron I HIGHLY recommend paying with cash. This restraurant hires disonest employees and doesn't care about customer service. We came here for a crawfish boil on a Friday evening for dinner. I feel like it definitely has the potential to be such a great place, but I just felt a little disappointed by my experience. Pros: + Helpful servers - we had one that kept coming back and checking on us to make sure we had everything we needed. + Jalapeño Hushpuppies - were amazing! Cons: - Not many people present on the inside of the restaurant - it seemed the entire town was out on the patio - Prices for market price were not clearly identified - I wish they had inserts printed or had servers mention it - Self-serve tea - Okay, so this is definitely the germaphobe in me (and I normally wouldn't care about this, except when everyone is eating with their hands). They had an iced tea dispenser and people would just refill their own glasses while eating crawfish with their hands. Riiiiidiclus!! Opened a tab. Got 2 pitchers of Bud Light and a Philly. The Philly had almost no meat, it was lunch meat, on a hamburger bun. Total: $50. What?!? Pitchers of Bud Light are $18 a piece????? I have never even heard of that. For $20 We could have had 2 steaks, potato, salad at Roadhouse. $50 is insane! DO. NOT. COME. HERE. This is my third or fourth negative experience with this place so clearly this is a trend. They advertised for .75 domestics and wells, so before we ordered we went to the bartender to clarify. She verified that it was .75 cents and there was a $10 minimum (of course she told us about the card minimum after the drinks were poured). We drank our drinks and ordered $10 worth so we could use the card and leave. When we received the bill it was double charged. We asked the bartender why and she explained that the drink special ended within the 30 minutes we were there. We asked another employee when the specials ended and he said they were all night. THEY. We went to The Tap for our last night out in Texas and it was great! The food was so good! We got the club sandwich and it was so huge I could only eat half. My fiancé got the chicken Mac bowl and it was a huge portion and so good as well! The vibe of the place was also super fun! They had karaoke with so many good singers, and people having such a fun time being on stage and singing with the huge crowd! They also had a lot of $3 shot specials that were super good! I would go for the Crawfish boil and forced my poor boyfriend to join me-- I drool in my mouth just thinking about all that delicious crawfish, those little baby potatoes, and those yummy ears of corn. Not too expensive, either! There's a wooded deck out front, bars on the inside, and cafeteria style seating so you have to try and elbow yourself into a bench with strangers--and if you're there on a busy night, good luck. However, for it being such a young crowd, everyone is really friendly--and I will never, ever get over the way young men in Texas are so darn sweet, respectful, courteous, etc, etc. holding open doors when they see you have two trays of hot crawdaddies and even going so far as to help you carry it. Waitress shows up and says they will cook crayfish now. But before she will place our order she wants an ID and credit card. We leave. Called manager later and told him of our experience. I practically lived at The Tap when I was a student at Texas A&M. It was, to me, the epitome of everything I want in a bar. Cheap (but strong) drinks, a cozy atmosphere, and a large, luxurious porch for those of us that like to take our drinks outside and talk. The food they serve is subpar, but I never go to a bar expecting to actually put anything in my system except copious amounts of tequila. The music played is often a range of whatever happens to be on the pop and country charts, but you can't really hear it if you go outside, which is where I highly advise you do your drinking. No matter what time of year it is, the inside of The Tap will always be so full of people as to be stiflingly hot, and like all bars, nobody is stopping smokers from making the whole establishment reek. If you get to The Tap a little earlier, say 7:00 or so, it's very bearable inside, but by the time it gets around 10:00, you need to relocate or just leave. Unless, of course, you thrive on a sea of space-heaters rubbing up against you and blowing smoke in your face. I mean, I don't know if that's your proverbial THANG. My favorite night to go was always Wednesday, because The Tap becomes a piano bar, and I'm always a fan of piano bars. Mondays feature Karaoke, and Thursday is Ladies' Night. These themed nights are the best times to visit The Tap, and the fact that they all take place in the middle of the week means that you're less likely to have to deal with a plethora of drunken college students rubbing their crotches on anything that moves. Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced at a bar. And I mean, the standard is set pretty low to begin with. I'll keep this short. There were 7 bartenders working last Wednesday. Every time I went to the bar, I was ignored by more than half who were standing around chatting with their friends. Apparently, only 3 bartenders can work at one time, because every time one of them FINALLY helped me it was always a bartender who had actually been working. It was my poor friend's first time to The Tap and she didn't know about the $10 card minimum. There was no sign up on this night nor did the bartender tell her about it. When she tabbed out the bartender insisted on the $10, suggesting she buy herself a shot regardless of the fact she was leaving to drive herself home... Then there was the bartender who was quite rude about us moving a table 6 inches for a bit more room and a better view of the piano. He made a big scene out of it and it was very embarrassing. And lastly, there is the fact that they charge $5 to get in on a WEDNESDAY in COLLEGE STATION. I will never go back to The Tap, ever again. read more

I came here Wednesday night to celebrate my mother's birthday with some of her friends to enjoy the piano and drink, and while we were there the piano was suppose to start at 9, but didn't start until almost 11. The bar isn't that impressive to start with but that was very disappointing considering most of the people there had to be at work in the morning and didn't want to be out all night. And while I can ignore that for the most part because it is a bar and I was getting drunk, my $63.50 tab was double charged. So Thursday morning I went in to get it resolved after I spoke with my bank to make sure it wasn't an error when the tip was being adjusted or something like that and the bank told me it was not a hold nor a pre-authorized charge, but an authorized transaction. I spoke with a man named John who told me he didn't handle the accounts, but that it was IMPOSSIBLE for me to get double charged on a tab and that the charge was just being held and would be released by my bank within 3 to 5 business days. Well he took my name phone number and last 4 digits of my card number and said the account manager would call me back. I did not receive a call back. I called around 9pm and he was unavailable. I called again quarter til 1o and he was still unavailable. I have not heard back from them and it is now Saturday morning. I do not live in College Station. I live in houston. I am going home today around 3. So i went into the business once again and spoke to a woman about it who basically told me the manager just left and that she could not call him for anything, nor could she fix it. She told me I had to wait for the charge to get released by my bank, so I continued to explain to her that I was not going to wait because i already spoke to my bank and all they need is the authorization number and merchant approval to release the second charge. Anr let me be clear a charge for $63.50 has already cleared my bank. The second charge is still pending. ZIt has been 3 days since I was at the bar and if I would have known they were going to even put a hold on my account I would have just paid cash. She started getting very rude with us when we insisted we speak with a manager to try to get this issue resolved. We ended up getting a phone number and giving her ours, but her attitude makes me feel as if I will have to go and just sit and wait until the issue is resolved. I am so disappointed! I will not ever be back after the way this has been handled. Especially since I can't celebrate my birthday tonight because I have no money in my account due to the double charge. Happy birthday to me! And stay away from here unless you have money to spare. And an update: the manager finally called me back and laughed in my face saying there was nothing they can do about it. So i went ahead and called my bank, Capital One, and they ate an amazing Company and while I received excellent customer service on the phone they issued an immediate credit for me. read more

The OPPOSITE of customer service. As soon as I discovered a problem with my bill *(overcharged by +$10)* the bar tender immediately began blaming my girlfriend and me for the discrepancy (which ended up being the server's fault.) There was an added tap tea, chugger beer, and some random shot to our bill. I tried to explain that I hadn't ordered any of the extra drinks but the bartender told me to "f**k off" while she got her manager. I'm not sure what kind of service they are trying to serve at this establishment but it definitely is not friendly. While I am glad that the manager was able to fix our problem, (after being berated by a waitress) I am very upset by the lack of service provided by the servers, management, and the fact that I was treated so poorly. The manager himself really didn't seem like he cared about what happened. Even after we were treated so poorly and originally were overcharged by more than $10. I will not be returning to this establishment nor will I recommend it to my friends. read more

Wow, what can I say about this place?... They are unbelievably terrible. The waitresses are completely incompetent. I ordered a burger basket for lunch with no lettuce or tomato. The rest of my group received their burgers in 10 minutes, but mine took over 90 minutes to come out. I saw countless burgers coming out, despite me asking continually about my order. At the 1 hour mark I heard a waitress say to another "what if we took the lettuce and tomato off of this burger?". All of the girls that work here are bimbos with no brains. Stopped by on a Friday afternoon for the first time in over a decade, thinking this would be a good spot for a quick bite and a beer. There was only me and one or two other patrons in the place, but when I stepped up to the bar to order the bartender acted like the place was jammed and it was inconvenient to take my order. I ordered the chicken fingers, and before she asked or I had the chance to order a beer she handed me my tab. Wait a minute, I'd like something to drink also! My food was out quickly, but the tenders were undercooked and chewy in the middle. I went back to the counter, summoned the bartender from her important paperwork (homework?) and paid my tab. The best thing about The Tap for me is that it's within walking distance of where I live. They have a lot of cool events here ranging from live bands that are actually good to sports events like hosting the Belucci hour for Aggie sports. The drink specials are decent, but it's tough to get service unless you go to the bar. read more
