My package never arrived, and when I contacted UPS, I expected at least a level of concern, accountability, and effort to resolve the issue. I was walked through the steps providing reassurance that my lost items would be located or compensated for, I was made to feel as though my situation did matter. Later to find out that it did not. Someone falsely filled out paperwork for me to receive a refund for much less than what I paid to have my now lost item mailed. Losing a package is already frustrating, but what makes this experience worse is the way it was handled. As a customer, I rely on UPS to not only deliver items safely but also to take responsibility when something goes wrong. In my case, there was no sense of urgency, no empathy, and lastly no return phone call to explain why he chose to rip me off.

I'm a small business owner and I drop packages off packed and labeled, so they only receive a fee from UPS for scanning my package. I drop off 3-4 times a week, and have done so for at least a decade. Today, I dropped off one of my regular packages, a tuck and fold shipping box. I usually tape the folded in area, but had missed taping this one. I needed a ONE INCH piece of tape, and asked if they could help. It was a $1 charge for them to "tape" the package. This UPS location is very close by and today I didn't grab my wallet on the way out the door. I did not have one Dollar for a one inch piece of tape. They stood firm on the $1 charge, absolutely would not just put a small piece of tape on my self closing box. I completely understand charging $1 to tape a box. I would be THRILLED to pay $1 for them to tape up a regular box, one with 4 flaps. But this was a tuck and fold shipping box, they see me there several times a week, and it wouldn't have cost them one full cent to add a one inch piece of tape for me. I believe they receive $0.50 to scan every one of my boxes, so they don't make much money on me. But they have lost more than $1 on me, tomorrow alone, not to mention the holiday season. I will use the nearby UPS drop box from now on, or use USPS. Employee turnover is a good way to gauge any business/management team, and the turnover of employees at this location is high, so between that and reading these reviews, this location proves itself to be run by someone who has no idea how to run a team or maintain a customer base. For the…read morepast seven years, Ink Spot has printed many meaningful items for my family -- from my wedding invitations to my children's birth announcements and birthday party invitations -- in addition to larger orders I've placed through the department where I work. Unfortunately, today that relationship ended over a $1.61 charge for envelopes. After being misquoted for a set of double-sided birthday party invitations and requesting matching envelopes, I received 14 invitations but only 7 envelopes. When I emailed to share that the envelope count seemed short, I was told not to worry and that additional envelopes would be set aside for me. When I returned to the store to pick them up, I was asked to pay $1.61 for the envelopes. I explained that I hadn't brought money because I didn't expect to need to pay for something that appeared to be part of correcting the order. The situation was reviewed, but the interaction was handled with a less-than-helpful attitude. Ultimately, I chose to walk away rather than continue the conversation over $1.61 -- because to me, it represented something larger. Over the years I have referred friends, family, and colleagues to Ink Spot, and I've valued supporting a local business. Situations like this are rarely about the dollar amount; they're about customer care and recognizing when a miscommunication has occurred. With that in mind, I'll be taking my business to HiTec moving forward, and I've shared my experience with those I've previously recommended.
