There's one guy who works here who's been a condescending d*ck both times I've come in. He wasn't wearing a name tag so didn't get his name ~ he is average to tall, thin, dirty blondish hair, wears glasses and has a beard. Avoid him if possible. The other employees are chill and nice. I used to go to the UPS in Toluca Lake all the time and ALL their staff are all super friendly and customer service oriented. I commented to this employee today after the second negative interaction I've had with him that I've had a different experience at the Toluca Lake UPS and his response is they are all separate franchises. Maybe so...but should that be your automatic response. About my experience with his way of engaging with me his customer: (I currently don't have a printer at home so have to print them out at UPS or a print shop. Lame and time to get a darn printer) First time: I had an Amazon return and selected the option through Amazon to have UPS print my label. I go into UPS and show him the email. He lets me know he has to charge me to tape up the box and rudely tells me to have it taped up next time. I told him I didn't know because the other UPS location I typically have gone to always tapes it up for me for free. Honest mistake. Second time: I have items to return (The downside to online shopping makes for more returns.) I taped the packages this time as was told so kindly by him the last time. I emailed the UPS store the return labels for them to print since you can do so and they charge you a small fee to print since in this case it's USPS return labels. I've done this before no problem. The initial guy who helped me was a sweetheart. Then the condescending guy steps in (maybe he's the manager?). First he's just not friendly no greeting and starts taping the label onto it. I didn't know for taping the labels onto the packages it is an extra charge. So when I'm getting rung up I asked in a polite way about the cost being more than the last time I did this. Condescending guy let's me know that they don't get reimbursed by USPS for taping their labels. It's the way he tells me that is super impolite and flat. It's like dude just be chill and nice about it. I told him I thought since I taped up the package I wouldn't get charged more than the print fee. He told me if I want to leave, tape it myself and come back, I can....Is this really how you talk to a customer? I said forget it since it wasn't worth the time (especially in this Valley summer heat but clearly I'm wasting time writing this review. Ha) I was upset by his tone and said I've had a different experience at Toluca Lake location and that's when ad mentioned with a matter of fact tone and flat affect he let me know they're different franchises so the service isn't the same. I've been by this location several times over the last year for various reasons--amazon returns, selling tickets I couldn't use, etc. I usually come in the early afternoon. Every time I've come in, Rose has been super sweet and helpful, especially when I'm confused over things like shipping next-day air, wanting signature confirmation, etc. I feel like I can just walk in and say what I need and she pretty much handles it all for me. Surprise!!! This place is just full of surprises...but those surprises are at the expense of the customers! Recently, I shipped a computer to my cousin, from this store, and they charged me $97. However, before I was informed of the total amount of $97, I was told an amount of $72. So, my first question was, "how did the amount jump from $72 to $97"? The associate told me that $72 is only for shipping and the additional charges are for packaging. Well, dang, shouldn't she have informed me that there will be additional costs when she first told me the amount of $72?! Then, she called their affiliate store in the city that I was shipping to, to inquire about their hours and if they accepted large boxes to be delivered. So, after about twenty minutes of her on the phone, measuring my computer equipment, and typing into the computer, she told me the final amount and that it will take a week for delivery. Say what?! For $97, I would've thought it'd be delivered much sooner. Then, I inquired about how much it will be to have it delivered within three days and she told me more than $250! After my cousin picked up the delivery from their affiliate location, she was charged a fee of $10. When she told me this information I was completely taken aback, as I was never informed by the associate of these fees. I thought the $97 was total. Anyway, I complained to both the location that I shipped from and shipped to. Then, I contacted the manager of the location that I shipped from, which is in Glendale, and she had the audacity to tell me "it's the customer's responsibility to check about the fees". Say what?! Abruptly, I'm asked to be placed on hold, and when she returns to the phone she stated how busy they are. This manager was out all week because she was allegedly "sick" and was to return my call. Well, as I stated before, I called her because she never returned my call. An utter lack of professionalism and respect! All in all, I wish I would've shipped from FedEx because I know FedEx is much more thorough, professional, and efficient than this place. Never once, did the manager apologize to me. Now, this is a fairly new location to the Glendale area, and they never seem to be busy, but now I can understand why. Never again do I plan to patronize this location. Any business that can't respect their customers doesn't need to be in business. I now know that I'll have to travel across town to ship from FedEx and/or USPS! read more

This was my first time at this UPS Store, and I cannot overstate how fantastic my experience was there yesterday. I had to get some documents notarized for my elderly and disabled parents, and was expecting it to be incredibly stressful and challenging. Not sure why this store has such low ratings but I had AWESOME service from Andrew and Devin today. They made a great experience out of a stack of copies. You honestly don't get personalized service from any of the copy centers. Try to get in and out of a Kinkos or Staples in less than 5 minutes. These guys took a stack of unorganized pieces of documents and duplex copies it, staples it, stacked it and handed it to me less than 5 minutes all the while helping multiple clients. I always ship my returns from this store with no problems. The one time, last week, I dropped off an item here and didn't take a receipt, the item disappeared. The return code was scanned but it never actually entered the system. Now, no item no return no refund. BE SURE TO GET A RECEIPT FROM THIS PLACE. There are other reviews on Yelp of missing items in this store. Almost every other week there are new people working here. Not sure what's going on but protect yourselves and get a receipt. Absolute GARBAGE - one of the managers, Lori, is too grossly incompetent to run a simple mailing storefront business and clueless about the fact that it even is a business to begin with. Been renting a mailbox for over 3 years and never had an issue for any reason until one of the managers, Lori, from back-when whom quit, but decided to come back to their job just in recent months during the virus pandemic. They know me very well by now, however decided to mess around with my mail and block my authorized workers from picking up my mail on my behalf even though I've received constant permission and done-so for years on end without any issues. Magically, my mail goes missing and if not missing, she simply changes the locks on the mailbox that I've rightfully paid for months-ahead of time then claims shes unable to release mail and unable to refund me the charges for the mailbox unless I'm willing to provide details or private information that was never required as according to policy or in over 10 years of using different UPS stores. I've been using this center for over 3 years with a paid mailbox without running into any issues until the manager, Lori, returned to her job and on the first few days of her return decides to have an ego-trip every couple days constantly and create obstacles for me to pick-up my mail, even if it's just one lettered envelope. Eventually, when confronted, her only explanation is that their UPS store "isn't a business" and that she "may do what she'd like at any given time," which is not only illegal, but contradicting their own policy and an entirely idiotic statement in its own right. All of the workers have told me they have an issue with their own manager, Lori, on a constant basis and hate dealing with her themselves. I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone and wouldn't return myself even if they provided me with a free mailbox and postage fees, let alone recommended this trash dump to anyone I know. All the other workers, everyone besides the clueless manager, Lori, are absolutely pleasant to deal with and actually know the job better than their boss which is ironic. I'd rather sail a boat myself to deliver my mail then use this location even if it was the last mail-processing center left on Earth. read more

The franchisee owner charges for everything! I ordered a package (small package - one shirt) on a shopping website that offered FREE shipping to a local UPS store versus paying $12. When I went to pick up my package, they were mandating me to pay $5 because I had my package shipped there! I will take it up with the shopping website separately, but wow, they charge $2 for tape, and now this?! Might as well charge me $5 for walking in through the door and using up the air they breathe. I have not signed anything to consent to this and it's the principle of the matter! Awful awful service. Took a package there to ship out (it was a return) and I confirmed with the lady (believe it was the manager) that it would go out that day. It didn't go out until the next day and so I missed the return deadline and got stuck with an item I didn't want. Not a single time I go in there am I greeted with a smile or even a hello.
