This UPS Store has one of the lowest ratings out of all the stores when you search in Irvine, and there is zero wonder why. 1) The past 3 UPS stores I have visited within the past 6 months have all happily given me a UPS-marked box, taped it up for me, and cheerfully shipped it with a printout confirmation. THIS ONE, however, charges you for a box AND "service" which includes "weatherproof packaging and tape." Wait. So tape is .. not free?! What is this, a government-run UPS store?! Even the post office will kindly tape up my box for me! And there is no option to just have them tape up a box that you already have - they SELL YOU A ROLL OF TAPE. He explained that each UPS store is independently operated. Yeah well no wonder your reviews suck. 2) The taller, unsmiling guy on Sunday afternoon around 3 PM needs a lesson in CUSTOMER SERVICE. When I told him I was trying to ship a few items, he gave me this weird look, which prompted me to be like, what, do you have boxes? Keep your judgey mcjudgerface inside your house, not when you're on the clock, pal. 3) They don't have boxes that are longer than like, 3 feet, so if you are mailing something longer (in our case, a paddle), they have to SELL YOU TWO BOXES so they can create one longer one. I figured since I was mailing out through them, I could borrow their tape... Nope. $1 for every 2 feet used. The customer service was poor beyond that and the male cashier was pretty down right rude. Both customer service associates grunted and groaned as they processed my order, not to mention one was sitting down on her phone when I walked in. Yes I understand you shouldn't expect to receive stellar customer service at every establishment you go to but geez these guys that work here have 0 customer service and have no clue on how to engage the customer at all! I needed something notarized and I had my mom call to see if they did it and how much it would cost, she said the young man on the phone and 0 phone etiquette at all. She told me don't have your hopes up when you go in here and sure enough she was right -___- Other customers walked in besides myself and none of the employees bothered to even greet them, they pretended that they didn't even exist which is so sad because customers don't deserve to be treated like that and it lets me know management doesn't train them on customer service. :/ Yes I was able to get done what was needed but I felt like I was bothering them, it even took them a minute to acknowledge me. Now that Hallmark cards are costing five, six or seven dollars each I have decided to make my own and actually, they're much more personal, and are appreciated by everyone! Review for Canadian Passport Photo service: put simply, do not go. Passport Canada called me and said the photo is unusable and I must take it again. I had called this business prior to going in about whether they can provide Canadian passport service. I was very specific about it being a passport renewal application for Canada. The person on the phone said they do it all the time and are very experienced. Very unlikely, based on my experience. First, they did not know the dimension, and I had to call up Passport Canada photo requirement web page on my phone for them. Second, I had to stand against a wall and hold up my own white background board with my hands behind my back. Third, they produced photos on a handheld or portable Polaroid-like printing machine. Fourth, they did not know about the written statements at the back of the photographs and I had to again tell them what to do and what to write down. Finally, the photos were ultimately rejected by Passport Canada. Fail! Reasons for photo rejection as according to Passport Canada: unclear photo; contains smudge on edges; insufficient contrast of facial feature due to improper lighting. The money paid for taking the photos is not too big of an issue in the grand scheme of things. The valuable time lost is tremendous for someone who needs their passport in order to travel. The store said they were experienced, I think not! The store also said they will retake my photos if photos were rejected. Why would anyone ever go back to fail again and lose more time on something important!? Advice to people who provide services: do not pretend to provide experienced service when you cannot, it is not fair for consumers and certainly not worth the reputation-suicide. read more

I have been to this store a few times. They aren't particularly cheerful but they aren't rude, so it's okay. I have never had issues with my packaging, but probably because I worked in logistics and shipping for 13 years and don't show up with busted up, under filled or untaped boxes expecting it to be fixed for free. For those complaining about having to pay for supplies, it isn't cheap! Seriously. My estimation on the commission is probably pretty low on the prepaid returns vs full serve shipping, which may also explain the extra fee. And payroll isn't exactly cheap in OC. Asking them to accept the liability of a busted up package and potential damage claim because people don't pack their stuff right isn't reasonable. I would recommend to folks who shop a lot online and have returns to just invest in a roll of tape at home, a few weather proof mailers and tape it up before you return. I recommend online or even Walmart to buy these items. It'll save the headache and time. Honestly, I prefer the location over on Irvine in the Zion market, but on Sundays that's not an option. read more

Occasionally due to time constraints, I am forced to come here to drop off or ship a package. Although other locations will take the package with no issue, this location uses it as a sales pitch for their other services and they sometimes will hand me a coupon for their other services when dropping it off. A previous incident occurred some time ago where I was forced to book a next-day air shipment here. When they began to charge me, I informed them I had to charge it to the company account. My memory of bad experiences recalls the very harsh words from an Asian woman that sounded like the manager in the back: "We don't get ANYTHING if you do that!" Such desire to make money makes it very uncomfortable to go in there, even if just to drop off a box. Their pick-up time is 5:15 and they have not delayed the shipment of any prepaid packages yet, even when I dropped off a box when the UPS truck was outside. I came here to overnight some documents (2 pages) and the cashier who helped me seemed to be new. She automatically gave me an envelope off the shelf which I should have questioned at the time. However, I was in a rush and just went with it. I asked her how much it would cost to overnight the documents and she was quoting me over $200.00. It took her about 5 min and me questioning her to figure out she had the weight wrong. Then she proceeded to charge me $.80 for the envelope. Since I was using the UPS envelope, I really didn't need it. The Chinese owner was there and said that it was for "extra protection". Sounded like a bunch of bullshit to me I've sent the same documents before from another UPS store and they didn't make me buy an envelope. Looks like this store nickels and dimes you. read more

I am not recommend this location. I am renting their mail box couple years. My package has arrived to this location by FedEx and I went for pick up but they told me your package is not arrived yet. I showed FedEx tracking web page said "delivered" but they told me we don't have your package here. So, I called FedEx from this store but FedEx give me a ticket number for search my package. Next day FedEx called me there is no package left in their route truck also nothing in warehouse and asked driver said for sure delivered. So, I went back this UPS store again to ask what's going on but they told me not sure what's happening. I asked store people to check security camera around delivery time FedEx delivered or not. They said they will look when they have chance but they don't look security camera to the end. I complained about this situation but what they told me read contract paper said UPS store have no obrogation for any damage or lost package. I put insurance in FedEx package but insurance works lost or damage before delivered. My case has delivered and UPS store lost. Of course can't use insurance. Any important package or valuable package you shouldn't use this kind of service. Their contract said they don't have any responsibility at all. read more

Feb 24, 2022. This UPS store lost my expensive wine order AFTER they accepted the shipment. At first, they only offered me $100 which didn't cover my loss, but eventually, they realized their mistake and said they're 100% liable for lost items once they receive my packages and paid for my loss in full. I've been their customer for over 9 years and know all the staff. I'm giving them a 4-star because the service has always been good there, but the it was a hassle for me to argue with the staff, and then contact UPS store corporate office to resolve this issue. This should have been resolved at the store level instantly, otherwise, I would give them 5-star. read more

Wow. Truly exceptional service. I came in because I lost my tracking number receipt. I had come in 3 different times in a matter of 3 different days and was met with super patient, understanding and helpful guys named Daniel, the Assistant Manager, and I believe his name was Jordan. They understood that I had $600 on the line and truly went above and beyond. They even spoke to one another and filled each other in because they probably figured I would be back. What they did wasn't easy either. They looked at about 200 different packages that were sent out in one day to double check tracking numbers, times, and cities that the packages were sent to. The guys at the store are always super helpful, whether its helping package or fill out forms to send things international or going out of their way to make sure our inbound items are held when we can't get to the store in time. Hmmmm. This is my first update. The service in this store has improved dramatically since I left a review last time. I see Chinese guy (co-owner) more often at the front. I think the store finally realized that it's better for the Korean lady to rather focus on management in the back, while Chinese guy to work with great service and smile at the front. Workers here are still very nice (even the new ones). If you ship stuffs at the store twice or so, they will remember your name and say hello when you walk in. So that's great service. 4 star cause of great customer service. Shipping price: UPS is not a cheap option for sending items from the beginning. The cheapest option is UPS Ground (5 business days) but it's about avg 25% more expensive than USPS Priority Mail (2-3 business days). The reason being, 1. UPS delivers with insurance+tracking included: UPS tracking shows what address the product was delivered while USPS Confirmation Number only shows the city. (I think the privacy law passed or something and Gov owned USPS doesn't show the exact address while privately owned UPS still does.) 2. UPS delivers in person and requires the receiver's presence; minimizes the risk for the item to be lost/stolen. 3. UPS delivery workers handle the goods better/more careful than USPS workers. Well, there are times that quality in delivery service is worth the 15-20% more pay. *But sometimes (again, SOMETIMES!!!), the price difference between cheapest shipping option in USPS (7-10 business days delivery) vs UPS Ground (5 business days) can bring crazy difference. I'm talking about $40 (USPS) vs $180 (UPS) here. For Real !! Maybe this store is forced to charge high cuz it's UPS. Who knows. This one is the most extreme shipping price difference I saw, but most times, the difference has been ~20%. read more

Wow! This is horrible. I get to the store today at 8:17 am, and the store is closed! The store hours printed on the door states: M-F 8am to 7pm. Then a disheveled guy : dirty, unkempt hair, with a hoody, shorts, and flip flops walks toward the store and says : sorry, traffic was bad! Honestly, it looked like he just woke up! I had to wait for him to open the doors, the cage surrounding the registers was stuck and he could not open it. I was amazed at the terrible customer service. This is one of my go to NOTARY place in the Irvine area. The other one is AIM on University Dr and Postal Annex on Culver Dr. Sad to say but the reason I have 3 is because of California traffic. I'm not partial for UPS stores because of the common reviews that are said prior to mine. The owners are not usually the best in customer service. I like Postal Annex and AIM Mail Centers due to the variety of choices and pick-ups. Most of my packets/envelopes for real estate documents are FedEx so going to a UPS store is not an option. And the staff is usually much better. I've shipped with this location only one time and it was a negative experience. I'm not going to go into it but I'll definitely opt out from using them for my business/personal deliveries and drop offs. The 2 stars are only for the Notary, which is worth going to. read more

This place is awful and they are only out to get your money! I went to send a package overnight there, the guy said no problem and said it would be $41. I thought it was high, but I said fine. He gave me a receipt and later that night I went to track the package and found out they did not send it overnight via UPS but by Express 2 day mail via USPS. I went back the next day and they gave me the run around about why they sent it via Express mail instead of UPS overnight and said tried to tell me that it would be delivered the next day, but USPS clearly shows it wasn't going to be there until 2 days later. I argued with them but it was no use and they had no intention of doing anything about it. I found out later that a lot of UPS stores have huge mark ups on USPS items mailed and they are franchisee's that are incentivized to send it via USPS. This is unethical and I will never go here again. I've also written a complaint to UPS about this store in particular. read more

Went to this UPS location last Thursday to do a 2 day shipment, paid $55 for a small package to be delivered Saturday GUARANTEED by them; destination Orlando., FL ..well the package arrived on Monday .. I went to the store and the employee didn't even apologize for it. He said he will file a complaint to corporate so I can get a "refund"..?
