I made an appointment for notary services at 5 o'clock and when I arrived a couple of minutes after 5 I was told the person had already left, that his day finishes at 5. When I told the cashier that my appointment was AT 5 he just said "but it's 5:03." ‍ The train has never made you 3 minutes late?? If he leaves at 5 the last appointment should be before 5. Store employee stated that they could not give me a receipt because of Covid concerns and directed me to use the 'scanner', which due to failing eyesight, I am unable to do. Finally gave me a receipt but told me that they were making an "exception" this one time. I have been to other UPS locations and have always received a receipt. It's more "your label won't scan and I won't print one for you, deal with it yourself and then come back". Usually good for dropping off packages because they have longer hours than the one closer to me. Unfortunately, yesterday I had an appointment to get some documents notarized and when I walked in for my appointment 30 minutes early, I asked if I could be seen early but if not, I would be able to come back at my appointment time. The front desk employee informed me that the notary left earlier for the day because of "an emergency." I understand emergencies come up and I would have understood except for the fact that no one called or emailed to let me know that my appointment was cancelled. If I have to let them know that I am unable to make my appointment then I expect the same courtesy back. The front desk employee was also rude and dismissive while telling me that the notary was unavailable. If you are coming for an appointment of some sort, I highly recommend calling to confirm since they do not inform people their appointments are cancelled. read more

She took 20 minutes to scan the doc & email it. Charged $5.70, but I didn't receive the email. When I said I didn't receive it, she said my phone wasn't working, but it was. She then said it takes a long time to receive. Requested a credit because I'd already wasted too much time with an incompetent employee. She continued to claim she'd sent it, so wouldn't return fee. Imagine my surprise when I found there were 20 when I left. I immediately went back to the store and was told I couldn't get a refund and that the store actually charges $20 for 20 stamps. Wow, no other staff interaction has ever made me want to leave a poor review as much as this one. I came in on a Friday afternoon with 30 pounds of pots/pans I needed to ship back to the manufacturer. My bag was ripping, I was sweating, and I was glad to be almost rid of the errand. Chris (a trainee) and the manager (I did not get her name) quoted me $160: $100 for ground shipping and $60 for packing. I said that, instead of paying them $60 to pack a box, I'd just pack it myself and I asked to purchase a box...$25 for a cardboard box. I had another smaller Amazon return bag that I simply needed to tape shut...$15. So, out of principle, I picked up the ripping, 30 pound bag and said I'd go pack up my items for much less money and I'd return to ship. I trekked to nearby Hercules Supply House where they packed, boxed and taped up both of my items for free and returned to UPS. They now quoted my at $140 for shipping "because the dimensions were different" and because it was packed against UPS standards. They told me if I'd just paid and not been stubborn, I would've saved money. I guess if you give someone a UPS employee shirt and a little power, they feel they are allowed to scam someone. I left, went to USPS 3 blocks away, and shipped my box for $40 arriving 2 business days later. I'm so glad that I never caved or allowed myself to be taken advantage of by UPS and their employees. I'll never ship UPS again and I think their protocol (and rates) are disgusting. read more

I just walked into this UPS at 1:15pm (Dec. 20) and the woman at the front desk was very rude. She was on her phone while processing my transaction and when I asked a question for help she immediately sighed, rolled her eyes and sounded angry as if me asking a question related to my package was a problem. She continued not to be helpful and made me feel very uncomfortable. Her customer service was very poor. I've visited many UPS stores and never dealt with this type of customer service. Absolutely horrible customer service. They greet you rudely before you ever even open your mouth, and if you need to explain anything, they refuse to listen. CJ is particularly rude. ***Updated: To see how badly this location needs to learn the meaning of customer service, look at the owner's attempt to gaslight me in the response below. Their reply is not at all how it played out. As they are finally admitting for the first time in the reply below, I was indeed right about the service I requested from them, the very people who are in business to provide such services. I walked in calmly, and with no need or expectation for incident (who the heck wants an incident when they're trying to mail a package?!), tried to show them that Amazon had this new service that not only allowed, but quite literally demanded, that I return the package to them without printing a label or packing the item. Since this was new to me, I was trying to explain to them that there seemed to be some sort of new service in place. I asked the guy behind the counter several times to please just look at my phone and read the message for himself, so he could see what I was seeing (which included a code he was supposed to scan). But he wouldn't listen to me. He kept saying, gruffly and without care, that they would not accept the package in this condition, that I had to tape it up, etc. He simply would not listen to the one and only thing I was trying to tell him--which was the very thing that would have kept this bad experience from happening! But he was not really the problem--his colleague CJ was. When she came out from the back, presumably to help me and to help him understand my service request, she was ten times worse than he was. Whereas he was mostly just aloof, she was downright rude. When I tried to explain the situation to her and show her my phone with the instructions, she was at first dismissive and then exceedingly rude. She just had a nasty attitude and didn't want to do the one thing that I, the customer, needed her to do in order to get me out of the store (my only goal). Yes, she was speaking to him about logistics, as the owner accurately states in the reply, but her interactions with me were crass, disrespectful, and unprofessional. After a minute or two of this I told her there was no need for her tone, which just made her attitude that much worse. I did not "storm out fo the store." In fact, I stood at the counter for a bit after they finally took my package and just waited for someone to tell me that the package was indeed suitable to mail. I had no expectation of a sorry, but I at least expected confirmation that the package was going to be shipped. But no one said anything to me. I asked "am I done?" or something like that, and then left, quite appalled by how the whole thing went down. It was an appalling experience. But again, they are now fully admitting that my service request was indeed accurate. Had they simply listened to me and replied at the beginning, "Oh, I've never heard of this new amazon policy, let me see that message and let's figure this out together," none of this would have happened. But that's not at all what happened. Because that's *never* what happens at this location. They operate with this weird attitude like the customer is always wrong. That is why you see this reflected in all online reviews for this location. The store on First Avenue is the complete opposite experience, btw. Courteous and professional every time. read more

No stars at all, I tried ship an iPhone 6s and a tablet to Italy, I opened the iPhone there in the store for no additional charges for the person who is receiving it , i I left everything there , after I left the guy packed the items, a tablet iPhone and Spider-Man headphones, it was Saturday and I paid to be delivered on Wednesday , (4 days latter) I went to track the package online and there was no a delivery estimated date , finally was delivered 1 week latter, first thing the other part paid €50 and we paid $238 , and what was delivered was the tablet the spider man headphones, and. Empty iPhone box , very mad I went to the store and the guy there told me that he will refund us the shipping payment, he tried to refund our debit card 2 times but he couldn't , and , he found out that will need his owner to approve that, refund because our was debit card and not credit and he promised us that he will give us a call that day, but he didn't called us so I went to the store again and there was other guy , so he told me that he will have the owner to call me , next day the guy who assisted us in the begin called me the next morning asking me if I was there The day before , I stated that is not his job , to ask me that , why he called me , why he didn't call his colleague, to ask him if I was there, The owner called me LVM, I called back she told me that there is a process that they have to follow , before they refund me , why the guy told me first day that he will refund us that day, why he called me in the morning if I was there the day before ? I called the police to open the camera to see if they packed the iPhone and there no video records!!! It's amazing what people say to get out of doing any work. I took in an Amazon box for return. The return email said to show the UPS store the email and that was all, no need to print a label. When I get there, the first thing the clerk tells me is that I need to put the label on (turns back). I explain that the email says there is no need to print a label. She then says, there's no address of where to send it (turns back). Um, that's usually on the label that you're supposed to give me. I then told her to enter the number from the email. She says I don't think that will work, but OK. She reluctantly enters the number, and low and behold, the label prints right out. If you work in a place, aren't you supposed to know how things work? Keep up on new technologies? Oh well, I think I'm better off at the post office. read more

Kind of feel weird rating a UPS store.....but to my surprise I had a great experience there today, so I felt like I needed to share. The guy today was really helpful and took care of exactly what I needed in about 2 minutes. I was kind of frazzled when I came in--kept knocking stuff over, inadvertently ignoring his question as to where my package was being shipped to, etc.--and he just laughed it off. I'm closer to a FedEx but I'll definitely walk the extra few blocks to come here again. read more
