I went today thinking it's been awhile since I had been in. I was looking forward to having their buffet. Turns out they are no longer offering. I talked with the woman at the cashier station after I decided to see if their new lunch menu would satisfy. I ordered the vegetable pakora and the tandoori meat sampler. The lunch entrees come with either a cup of soup or salad, rice and naan. The soup came first followed by the pakora( under appetizers). The lentil soup was very filling. The pakora had a nice assortment of fried items. I don't know what they all were and I asked to take more than half in a doggie bag. My entree came with large bowl of rice and four pieces of hot naan. There was a good assortment of meat but the pieces were buried under onions and green pepper. There was a soup bowl sized portion of the gravy which was medium spicy. I don't know if it was that gravy or the meat, but I could taste a lot of salt. Since I was the first one in at 11:30, when they open, I watched to see how many more would come in looking for the buffet. 2 parties came in after me and both were seeking the buffet. One table left without ordering when I was leaving and they said they would go elsewhere. I asked the woman at the cashier station after I paid, why they stopped the buffet. She said they found they were throwing out a lot of food after their lunch hours ended at 3 so they decided to switch to the limited lunch menu. They felt they could satisfy their customers request for different spice levels and could get their fresh meats and vegetables for each dish. I don't know if business will be better with this format, but I know for me, I much prefer the buffet option because I could try a variety of dishes. The woman at the register said I could bring a group of friends in to order different dishes and we could share. sometimes, that is not a spur of the moment option. We were bummed to find they no longer do a lunch buffet, but the lunch specials were still a good deal with huge portions. Lunch specials come with the main, rice, naan, and a choice of salad or soup. I got the chicken tikka masala and my husband got the butter chicken. We also ordered the tandoori sampler & gobi manchurian. The tandoori was a little dry and cauliflower over fried. We enjoyed our main dishes as everything was very flavorful. Delicious garlic naan. Viceroy had been consistently great up to this point. This weekend we had the chicken tika masala and chicken 65. Terrible chicken cuts and small portions of chicken (which is probably a positive given the cuts). I don't know if this was a one -off, but going to take an extended break from Viceroy. Very solid Indian food here! I enjoyed the butter chicken (not on the menu, but you can ask for it), chicken tikka marsala, and the tandoori chicken. The samosas had a great flavor but had a crispier texture than I prefer (more like an egg roll). The service was great and we were able to do a walk in. The restaurant is spacious and has a nice feel to it even though it is located in a shopping center, making it great for dine in. I have eaten at hundreds of Indian Restaurants, my standards are very high. They are the best. I got the curry lunch special (I wanted scallop but they were out of fresh scallops, so they gave me the crab meat masala in place of it). The curry was delicious, and the crab meat was very fresh and didn not taste fishy at all. The garlic naan was made with real butter and not vegetable oils. 10/10, a 5 star restaurant. It was ok! I came on a Saturday at 1 PM and there was no buffet even though that's what it says online is the buffet time. The butter chicken was pretty good. The chicken had some weird chewy/ inedible pieces in it but mostly was good. The nann was very flat and charred and not buttery and a bit thicker like I like at other places. I came here with my friend a few months back for dinner, much to their recommendation. I took cues from them on what to order, and with some encouragement, I tried a few new dishes this time, along with my classic favorite: Korma Chicken. The mango lassi was a shared delight, with its thick, creamy, fresh and sweet taste. It was a perfect choice for us to split and enjoy together. Her goat curry, medium spice, was fantastic, and I could taste the flavor of the meat, not just the gravy it was smothered in. The Chicken 65 was a great appetizer, and so filling. I love the spicy tomato sauce. My chicken korma was sweeter than I've had elsewhere and not quite my favorite to date. It was still delicious, and I enjoyed most of my meal. The rice was perfectly fluffy, and the naan was crispy and garlicky. I look forward to coming back again when I'm OTP and want to enjoy some good Indian food! read more

This was my first time trying an Indian buffet, and it was really good! There were several meat options- I think my favorite was the butter chicken! I also liked the cucumber salad. The naan was amazing! I would probably comeback just for the naan-- fresh, warm, and flavorful with the addition of garlic! I think we've found our go-to Indian Restaurant! We came here on a Tuesday night and made a reservation, but it wasn't packed so we definitely didn't need to make the reservation. We were seated immediately. The service was really great and we didn't have to wait long for anything. We started with chicken 65 and vegetarian samosas. The chicken 65 was so good and spicy. It was also very saucy. The flavor was out of this world. The samosas were fine as well but the chicken 65 was definitely the winner for appetizers. Our main entrees were lamb vindaloo and chicken curry with spices of 3 and 4, respectively. I highly recommend both as well as the garlic naan. I'm definitely looking forward to returning. read more

Ever since we had our first baby, over the last 5 months we have been picking up from Viceroy almost every month when we really don't want to cook. And wow the food is very fresh and tasty with lots of aromatic spices and herbs. The channa masala is with more tomatoes with potatoes which is delicious, and we love the Paneer Tikka Masala. All of the vegetarian and vegan options are great. And even when ordering at 8:30 at night, the samosa came out hot and crispy on the outside and so moist on the inside. The Viceroy Royal Indian Dining was an excellent place to visit for a great meal. When approaching the restaurant it looks as if it is just a hole in the wall location but once you are inside you can see how lovely it is. The ambiance is excellent with comfortable seating, cleanliness, nice lighting, and good decorations. The service was another outstanding point about the experience. The wait staff and host were both very attentive, helpful, and kind. This led to helpful suggestions throughout the meal and never having the feeling of looking around for a server and not finding one. Lastly the food was outstanding as well. Not only is it tasty, but it is fairly priced and comes in very adequate portions. We had the chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, and garlic naan which were all very delicious. My son and I ordered from here for an easy Friday night meal. i got a medium spicy "Chicken Krahi" with some raita and garlic naan and i thought it was excellent- the tomatoes, peppers, and onions were cooked with the perfect amount of crunch. My son chose a mild chicken biryani. I can't eat it because of the cashews but he was pleased. I like that you can order broccoli as a side as well! I really enjoyed the food here. I eat Indian food a couple times a year and have been to various restaurants throughout the US, this one is definitely not to be ignored if you live near the area. I ordered chicken tikka masala, chicken biryani, veg samosa, and chai. Their chai was very strong and flavorful, probably one of the best chais I've had. This place is a real bargain if you go for the lunch buffet. Only $14.98 AFTER tax! The service was good and there was plenty of food to choose from. They even bring a basket of naan to you at your table which was a nice bonus. They could easily get five stars out of me but as I'm often seeing these days, the food seems to be a bit toned down to please the general public. I know this is probably something that restaurateurs are having to do with their buffets these days to please the maximum amount of people. This has so far been my favorite Indian restaurant in Atlanta area. Their USP is their weekend buffet with unlimited mimosas for an unbelievably affordable price. The best part isn't the mimosa it's their food spread. It is so awesome you might just not have space for any mimosa! Which is my case always. I extremely recommend the goat curry and butter chicken. My husband's personal favorite is their chicken biryani which he has been having every two weeks consistently for the last 5 yrs , I think. He is still not bored. I think we are amongst their most loyal customer base. Jokes apart, the food quality is way better than other Indian restaurants I've tried here. This is completely unsponsored honest review. Was between a couple Indian places and glad this one worked out! My partner and I ordered the vegetarian assorted platter, chicken vindaloo, lamb korma, roti, garlic naan, mango lassi, and gulab jamun - TASTE: 5/5 - everything was so satisfying. The green sauce (mint chutney?) and dark sweet sauce (tamarind chutney?) was so good w the platter of samosas, fritters, and potato patties. Both the vindaloo and korma sauces were so rich and, since we requested 4/5 spicy on both, packed a nice, light heat. The garlic was super strong and tasty on the naan, and the roti had a slight buttery taste. Mango lassi was sweet, and we're a sucker for gulab jamun TEXTURE: 5/5 - everything in the appetizer platter was fried nicely. The lamb korma was thick and creamy w bites of almonds, and I appreciated the chunks of potato in the vindaloo. The naan was crispy, while roti is more like flatbread. Table for 3 for lunch I was meeting a couple of friends for lunch. As I approached, there was plenty of shared parking. ViceRoy was located in an open area with many other shops and restaurants. One friend and I entered together, were greeted and seated immediately with no reservation. We were waiting for the 3rd member of our party to join, but we got started on the buffet. As we were up and about, the server brought over our water glasses. It was lunch time, but the place was almost empty. Looking around the restaurant, I noticed it was spotless and designed with a minimalistic style. I surveyed the buffet and noticed many of the usual favorites; Butter Chicken, Tandoori Chicken and Chicken Biryani. Our other friend arrived shortly after and jumped right in line for the buffet. I went back for 2+ full entree plates and 1 dessert plate. We discussed the food and commented that it was OK. Nothing jumped out at me that was super tasty or made me do the happy food dance. Also, by the time I got the food back to the table, it was not super hot. I don't know if it was because I was talking while eating, but it did not seem super hot. The team of servers were very attentive, but not very friendly. They efficiently and quickly came to clean up old buffet plates and bring out the Naan, but there were not a lot of smiles tossed around. Pretty good Indian restaurant located close to the Perimeter Mall. We ordered the chicken 65 (used too much red color), gobi manchurian, roasted papad, and vegetable pakora (were only 7 pieces). Tasted good but it wasn't warm enough, maybe it was leftover from the lunch buffet they offer? They have a spice level scale from 1-5(hottest), we ordered a 3. For dinner we ordered chicken tikka masala, vegetable jalfrezi, and paneer kadhai. Everything was warm and we also upgraded to a level 4 because we thought the 3 for appetizers was super mild. This was a huge JUMP. Not sure why it came out extremely spicy. I wonder if they warmed it up only because we adjusted the spice level, if we hadn't, would the food come out cold like the appetizers did? The service is ok, appetizers came out quickly since they were probably premade. Not customer service really, the staff seemed like they were just doing their job to do their job rather than making customers feel welcome. Modern looking restaurant in a random plaza next to a liquor store. The bathrooms have pictures of famous Bollywood actresses.
