Stopped by for a quick dinner date before wrapping up our night and decided to sit on the patio. There was only one other guest at the time also on the patio which was nice and quiet. The patio space also has outdoor misters and is heavily shaded which aids during the summer heat. We were quickly greeted and were given the option for indoor or outdoor seating without a reservation on a Friday evening. We were told the menu had recently been updated so I've attached updated photos. The food was good - but nothing too special. The steak frites had a sauce that was very flavorful but perhaps a bit heavy on the balsamic. We also ordered the happy hour BBQ sliders which has delicious and soft toasted buns, but the pork was overly sauced in my opinion. read more

We came here for a girls night happy hour and it was packed! They only have a small parking lot so when it gets full you have to park across the street and walk over. The others had already arrived by the time I made it in, so I walked out to the patio to meet everyone and get our first drink orders in. We shared calamari, fries, and a couple other dishes that were all tasty and generous in portion sizes. The drinks here were very good and we were all delighted with the offerings. A cute restaurant with a variety of menu options including cocktails. I went with my best friend to check out their Adult Happy Meal (Classic Tito's Martini or Espresso Martini, Truffle Fries, and a small Caesar salad). It was pretty decent for $19. I also ordered their Happy Hour Chicken Tacos for $6 and really enjoyed those. Full of tender, juicy chicken and a flavorful fresh salsa. This place is definitely underrated ! Delicious food, great prices and friendly staff. The outdoor area has garden walls and heaters and they had a live musician outside and it sounded amazing even inside. This was a great Friday date night spot ! This location is on the smaller side so I would make a reservation if it's during the weekend! My favorite thing to order is the steak frites which comes with fries and delicious broccolini. I feel like a place is only as good as their broccoli because of how many times I've eaten steak with plain steamed broccoli. They also have a nice wine selection. We haven't had this type of experience in a while. Walking in I was really excited because it looked like a great spot. We sat down, the waters and taking our order was fast. The appetizers were fast and after that everything was downhill. We asked for more water-- it never came until we asked again which was substantially later. When our food came our steak well done which we ordered it Medium. Our fries and broccoli were cold. We returned it and asked for our steak to be done properly. The chef brought it out looking well done, again. I asked the chef if this was medium and he said "yes" which tells me they don't know how to make a steak. This took at least 20 minutes to come out. The person next to us complained about her steak as well. I didn't take any pictures unfortunately but I don't think we will be coming back. read more

My hubby and kids treated me to a Mother's Day brunch at The Vig in Arcadia, and it was such a sweet way to spend the morning. They snagged a reservation ahead of time, and when we got there, we were seated out on the patio--it was such a beautiful, chill morning. Totally relaxing. I started off with an espresso martini and included the Baileys to make it extra creamy. So good!! For brunch, I went with the avocado toast, and wow--it was absolutely delicious. It came with a side salad that had this super flavorful dressing! So dang good! My daughter ordered the pancakes, and they were amazing too--lots of vanilla flavor, but in a really nice, not to overpowering. I wrapped it all up with a refreshing sangria to finish off the brunch. I love this Vig location!! It's a cool vibe with half inside and half outside. And it's perfect weather right now for this concept. We had eight of us for lunch - the server was very attentive and nice. The food came out fast and everyone got their meals at the same time. I also love how The Vig has gluten free bread!! So of course I had to order the roasted turkey sandwich with sweet potato fries. SO GOOD. The bread slightly crumbles but it's pretty good for gluten free (I can only imagine how even more tasty this is with the pretzel bread). There was a good amount of turkey, and with the melted cheese, creamy slaw (for some texture), and cranberry sauce... perfection. And dipped into the mustard-y aioli, wow. Not even needed but elevates this sandwich even more. Great textural contrasts, great balance of sweet and savory and acidic. The sweet potato fries dipped into the aioli or ranch, love. Nice and crispy, which is how I like it! A good portion of fries too! I also snuck some of the queso from my friends. Very cheesy and rich queso, and so good when it's nice and hot. We have become increasing fans of the Vig at multiple locations so decided to try the original. It has the same upscale but relaxed vibe. Drinks are good and reasonably priced. The pretzel was hot with a crispy crust and moist soft inside. pastrami was tasty and not too fatty. The chipotle cream pasta was smooth and silky, not heavy. Went for lunch yesterday, a week day, so not overly busy which was nice bc I've been here before and it's been packed and loud. Our server greeted us promptly, was personable and quick with getting our orders, but didn't come back until we were finished. Had she come back during our meal she would have found out that my hot honey chicken sandwich was meh, mostly bc the chicken was small and the honey was not detectable, and the truffle fries, which she recommended and had an upcharge, were minus meh - they were cold and hard. I let her know and she said "Oh, we'll take care of that", which I thought meant they'd take it off the charge, but nope, I was charged for a sort of adequate meal. Next time I want a chicken sandwich and fries I'd be better off at Churchs - 50% more food and 50% less price. read more

First, We got there and there was a large large party (30+) people of moms and kids, running all over the restaurant, jumping off tables and seats (literally) and no one staff wise was saying anything to them. Second, we ordered 2 apps, 2 meals and 2 kids meals. We got our meals first, then the appetizers 10-15 mins later & then the kids meals 10 mins after that. The service itself wasn't bad but it was way over crowded for it being a smaller outdoor area. Food was really good, I got the bistro steak, fries and broccolini. No complaints with my meal, we also got wings and edamame, both good. Overall just wish the staff would've asked the parents to control the kids more. I've been coming here for a while. I love the vig. They have a decent happy hour with some good food options too. I particularly love the sliders and the Nobel bread pretzel. It comes with cheese dip and mustard. The mustard has real mustard seeds in it and is actually decent. Usually I'd leave the mustard but not here! The service is always quick and friendly. They have a few tvs for the sports fans, and lots oh seating inside and out. The patio is huge and has heat lamps for the winter months and misters in the summer. First, Madison was an outstanding liason, helped me make perfect selections and quantities, pricing, and payment. Second the staff at the Vig were amazing, helpful, and super attentive to our party. My girl friend and I stopped here for happy hour after work and it was a perfect spot to meet up with friends! Their happy hour is from 3-6 pm which is perfect for post work plans. I loved the chicken tacos and the sliders, together it was the perfect amount of food. The espresso martini was strong but tasty if you love them. A dimly lit American styled eatery that has good food and service. I got to try their calamari as an appetizer , the vig burger, and the fried chicken sandwich. Starting with the calamari, it's fried well with a good crisp and flavor; it wasn't overcooked and the squid had the perfect texture. The dip was good, and I enjoyed the pickled onions to add some acidity. The fried chicken was also decent but needed more sauce. I think more hot honey or BBQ sauce would've made it much better. The vinegar slaw was a nice counterbalance and the texture was good, but it needed more sauce. 4/5 The vig burger on the other hand was very good. The cheese, pickled jalapeno, aioli, guac, and fried onions all came together very well to compliment the meat (medium). Both fries were also not lacking in any department. I preferred the sweet potato fries a bit more, but the regular ones were tasty as well. Overall, I had a good experience. Prices range around $15 per app, $20 per entree, and $10 for dessert. We arrived and thought the rest of our party may be on the patio. No one was at the hostess desk when we entered. As we walked back to look for our family a hostess walked up and with a straight face and curt attitude and told us for future reference stay at the front to check in. She took us to a table that the seats and table top were full of leaves and she left. We cleaned off the leaves on one side and so far we were very disappointed. Then our server arrived and everything improved. She swept the leaves and plant parts off of the other seat and table. She was very sweet, professional and helpful. They also have heaters and umbrellas -- the heaters came in handy. There is a HH menu, but honestly I wouldn't say the drinks are HH priced. One espresso martini and a spicy margarita (mostly ice) went down quick! For food we ordered the HH tacos (an order of shrimp and an order of veggie tacos) and a burrata starter to share. I went with my friend it took us 15 minutes to be greeted and the person that greeted us was not even our server for the night. When the server picks up full plate of food you would think they get the point and offer to make it right some way but no . I order 2nd out of 6 people got my "rare " New York strip 10 min after all the other food came out . The server had already came by and asked how everything was when I didn't even have my food so when I got my food, I couldn't even explain to him how horrible it was before. Everyone was done eating. If I could give the grilled chicken chopped salad from the Vig more than 5 stars I would. I absolutely love this salad! On my most recent visit I also got to try their rigatoni Bolognese and it was also really good. Since I was with 2 friends we decided to share a dessert and we got the butterscotch bread pudding. Dear lord is that good! We did not have a reservation on the Thursday night we visited but we were able to snag 3 seats at the bar and avoid waiting for a table. THE BHAN MI SLIDERS! Whoa. What a delightful American spin to my favorite Vietnamese sandwich by through it on a light semi sweet dinner roll. WOW. And the rockfish tacos were SO fresh with an amazing crunchy slaw on top to send it over the top. Everything is so flavorful and seasoned well. The staff was all very smiley which was very refreshing to see and the outdoor seating is gorgeous with a tree growing through the center of the patio and completely shaded around it. From the outside you would not recognize the building as a restaurant and would easily miss it; however, once inside or on the outside patio you will visit a cozy and nice restaurant with bar. We satin a comfortable booth with lighting that provides a nice private atmosphere. The staff were great and attentive. The food was nicely presented and tasted great. We had a burger with sweet potato fries and the hot honey chicken sandwich with fries. Both tasted great. For dessert we had a chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream that was a special providing some of the price to a community good cause. The menu had sufficient variety that everyone found something they liked, and our servers were quite attentive. The Vig has a comfortable, laid-back ambience.
