My husband and I came here yesterday for our anniversary and we had the pleasure of being hosted by Chante. She is an absolute gem! She was super helpful and accommodating to my extra needs. Service was so quick and my husband and I enjoyed a delicious meal! My husband commented on how lovely the ambiance was as well. He said a place like that where we are from would be loud but it was so cozy. Our food was absolutely delicious! We both finished our plates. No leftovers here. With only 35,000 residents, and lacking the affluence of Ashland and Medford, one wouldn't expect the best Italian restaurant in Southern Oregon to be located in Grants Pass, but it is. The lasgagna I ordered was exquisite; my grandson loved his lemon basil prawns. But the best was yet to come - the creme brûlée, with an unusual but wonderful pinch of salt in the caramelized sugar crust . The house Merlot was adequate; the port with dessert terrific. Like a family of ballers we walked into this nice Italian place on a Monday night. It's not a holiday, it's not my birthday, we just felt like something fancier than Mcnuggets tonight. The chicken parmesan my husband ordered was bigger than my head! Whaaaaattttt???? Uh huh, it was freakin' huge! I tried a bite, and I really loved the tomato sauce. It was right up there. Great stuff. My chicken carbonara was gooooood. It was exactly the way I like my men.... Rich. Mmmm hhhmmmmm. Great warm bread baguette was so soft and chewy and we slathered on that buttah. What a lovely restaurant, good food and service and atmosphere, definitely my # 1 place in Grants Pass, Southern Oregon. We had to wait because it seems the lacked some wait staff cause there were open tables. Not a big deal, once seated our server was super nice and pleasant. She told us about the specials and her favorites. We got the sausage and beet dish as an appetizer which was really good. We got two of her recommended pastas which were ver bland, the one had canned mushrooms which killed it for me. Could improve the flavor on the pasta dishes. read more

Superb, totally excellent. Driving through and stayed the night in Grants Pass on way to OSU football game (Go Beavs). Found the restaurant on Yelp, Wife had lemon chicken piccata and I had the wild salmon with polenta (as good as any I had in North Beach and the parking is far easier). Beautiful presentation and excellently prepared. Wine by the glass selection was good, Oregon Riesling for me and Chianti for the wife. Service was very good. Ambiance was modern and confortable. We followed the 5-star reviews here on Yelp and are glad we did. Our Chicken Carbonara and Calamari Grigliati were terrific, as was the focaccia with olive oil. The portions are very generous-- at least for us there was plenty to take home to enjoy later. Two people could easily share the pasta dishes. And the prices are reasonable, considering that everything has gone up in price now. We're not Grants Pass residents, but if we were we'd be here often! read more

If you are gluten free and/or have Celiac you MUST go here. It was amazing! ALL menu items can be made gluten free. Additionally the staff is very knowledgeable about gluten free. On a trip to Grants Pass, I chose The Vine as one of my dinner spots. Easy to find, easy parking. I was seated in the bar area, at a table, which was quieter and more amenable to me. Nicely decorated in Italian motif, subtle colors. Welcoming, as was the staff. Started off with a grapefruit aperol spritz that was just right. My roasted garlic and cambazola appetizer quite large and delicious. Especially with the spritz. The entree was fish and chips, nicely presented and well cooked. A mountain of tasty fries held the 3 pieces of fish ready for their swim in a tasty sauce. The true highlight was Chante, the keeper of the bar and my server. She was warm from the beginning and very good at preparing drinks, serving wine, presenting food. What stood out for me, however, was her kindness and caring of an elderly pair of ladies who came in. She treated everyone with that gift of making people feel special. I would return just to her company. And I would order food and drinks again. read more

Dinner at The Vine with friends Sunday 2/25/24. Good ambience, great service, but one item on the menu not what it should have been. Listed as "Chicken Carbonara" this delicious pasta dish was not carbonara . . . it was a cross between Alfredo and stroganoff. True carbonara would not have had a heavy cream sauce, but would have had a buttery egg sauce and peas. There were no vegetables at all in the dish served. Again, good restaurant, great service, but ask about the selections to make sure you get what you think you will be getting. read more

We ate here a couple of years ago and we're very disappointed, but we decided to give it another try last night. We were disappointed again! The restaurant has no ambience or at least where we were seated didn't. They put us right by the front door up next to the front window and it looked like there were plenty of other tables. I ordered a cosmo drink and it wasn't very good and was served in a non-martini glass that was difficult to drink out of. My husband ordered a beer off of their menu and they didn't have any of his choices. He had to settle for something he didn't really want. The waiter wasn't real attentive, never even asked us if we wanted another drink. He asked if we wanted bread and said he would see if he could wrestle up some. Not sure what that meant. My husband ordered spaghetti and he said it was good but he had to pay $7.00 extra to get a salad to go with it. I ordered steak medallions and the servings were very small and the presentation sucked! I would not recommend this place. read more

I miss the old Vine...we visited last year and the lemon basil shrimp pasta was amazing, creamy and lemony. And we also ordered the fried calamari appetizer. Yesterday, we ordered the same items and very underwhelmed. Had to ask for more lemon sauce because the pasta was dry and on a bed of uncooked spinach. The calamari was grilled and tough. My stepfather choked on it. The fried calamari was soft and his favorite. We left not hungry but we're not happy with the food presentation and will not be back for a long while.
