Our friend suggested The Vine for Italian tonight. What a great choice. The Carbonaro with chicken was not like a typical recipe; however, the mushrooms gave a fabulous earthy flavor. The taste was awesome so I ate too much. My husband enjoyed the chicken cannelloni which had a lot of beautifully toasted cheese on top. We decided to indulge and had the chocolate cake. It was so rich and luscious. We were all moaning with pleasure. Lastly, our server, Janet was very nice and funny. Made for a nice evening overall. read more

I know that I am not going to adequately express how delicious our dinner was. Probably some of the best Italian food we've ever had. We ordered the roasted garlic appetizer. The bread was hot and crusty and it came with a giant wedge of cheese along with the garlic. Great way to start the meal! My husband ordered the carbonara and I ordered the chicken alfredo. What I ordered at The Vine was ok. Fettuccine Carbonara was definitely not traditional carbonara. Tasted like Masala. They used regular bacon instead of pancetta- which I never experienced before. Bacon was super crunchy- which I didn't love. Tiramisu was not traditional either! It was all cream and then frozen chocolate on the bottom. There wasn't any lady finger present and therefore lacked the traditional texture. I took 3 bites and left it behind. I suppose other dishes (might) be better, but I'm not sure I want to take the chance and drop another $45 only to be dissatisfied again. read more

I wish I could rate it 4.5 stars. I'm not sure why I wouldn't rate it 5, other than I reserve that for perfect dining experiences. That said, everything we had from our meals, drinks, and the service we experienced was great! I had a baked lasagna and wife had pasta Bolognese. She must eat Gluten Free for health reasons and they had tons of GF options for her, which is always greatly appreciated. So when she can get GF pasta she's happy cause it a treat when it's restaurant quality. The Bolognese was delicious, very meaty and rich - as it should be. About as good as we've had anywhere. My lasagna was great as well. Rich, hearty, HUGE portion (I could only eat half). I'd order it again anytime. We also both got drinks. Wife got some vodka fruity something, don't remember the name. I got a coke and bourbon. It was heavy on the bourbon, but extra alcohol isn't much of a complaint. We took home a flourless chocolate cake (again GF) for dessert which was awesome a well. Out the door including tip we spent $75. Which for two dinners and two drinks and a dessert is pretty great, especially given the quality of food! My only complaint was the restaurant itself was kinda cold. We were far from the door but I wasn't the only one because I noticed many other people wearing their jackets while eating. Seemed odd. First time visiting this restaurant. Service and food were both great. Very much enjoyed every thing. Perhaps because of COVID but inside of restaurant lacks ambiance and character. Could really use updating. Side salad was good, but overpriced at $6 for nothing but tossed greens. I would prefer to pay a little extra for meal and have soup or salad included. Very hit and miss. My husband got the fish and chips and paid a lot of money for a plate full of mediocre french fries and two tiny pieces of fish. Wish it were more consistent. Service varies as well. And everything being a la carte means you're going to leave with a pretty big bill! read more

I am surprised I hadn't dropped a note here already. GP used to have an Italian restaurant downtown that was real good, and unfortunately closed.. I love Italian food... WHO DOESN'T? But I had been at a lost for somewhere in GP. Yeah, there are locations south of us, but I work in GP, and I want to spend my food money here in GP, and not at some over hyped chain. The this summer a friend told me about 'The Vine'. So I made reservations met up with other friends and enjoyed a meal that had I been taken there blindfolded, I would swear I was enjoying a dish that came straight from Tosca, or Vesuvio's in the North Beach area of San Francisco. I ordered a Manhattan, antipasto, bread, and once I had tasted my drink, and felt the crackling of the bread crust, I knew that the person who recommended The Vine was truly a friend. We each ordered a different item, and when all arrived it was like a BennieHanna experience where each of us had to sample each others dish. Simply fantastic we returned one more time, and fully intend to become more familiar there this coming year. read more

On vacation, we stumbled on this awesome restaurant. There are not many places to eat out in Grants Pass, but this location was yummy. They serve very large portions of authentic Italian entrees. Skip the spaghetti and enjoy one of the dishes we had: beef boscaiola (a sort of gourmet beef stroganoff), lemon piccata chicken or chicken carbonara. To make things extra special, our server, Manny, was perfect. He didn't bug us but was personable, kind and helpful. If we ever find ourselves back in Grants Pass, we will be back! read more

My family chose this restaurant because of the large variety of gluten-free options, and they did not disappoint! My aunt was able to eat a dish that she's never been able to have before because of the gluten, so it made her whole day. Olivia served us last week, she was the absolute best. So kind, funny, and knowledgeable about the menu. I had the best steak of my life here as well, kudos to the chefs. Great gluten-free options! I had the pasta bolognese special and keep remembering it and hoping they will have it again one day when I happen to be there. So far the lemon shrimp spinach pasta is my favorite on the regular menu. Menu: The Vine knows what it is, its concise menu allows it to serve quality food to its customers. I found a hidden gem on the menu: Mango, Pineapple Chicken with Coconut Risotto served with mango was fabulous. And don't forget the hand crafted deserts. Service: Wonderful staff, very friendly enhancing the dining experience. Overall Restaurant: Its hidden in the corner of Grants Pass in the corner of a strip mall. It might be overlooked by those traveling up I-5; don't make that mistake-you should definitely go out of your way and dine here. Came in for dinner, didn't have the wine we ordered but had a substitute which was good. I ordered the salmon and polenta, salmon was a little rare and polenta was greasy. My husband ordered the lasagna he liked it. For the price it was fair. I would not serve package butter with the bread. The next day was the real test. We both were sick going to the bathroom all morning. We won't be going again. Are server was great And black napkins are horrible. Came in on Monday evening. I found this little gem on the advice a sweet woman at the visitor center in Grants Pass and I was NOT disappointed. Every single thing was great here. I was greeted with a smile by the host, seated promptly, and offered a drink from the bar. My server was very friendly and attentive without hovering. My seat faced the kitchen, so I was in the unfortunate position of having to watch plate after plate of scrumptious looking food be taken to tables not mine. I swear I wanted a bite from every dish. Probably the best clam chowder I've ever had is served here. Super smooth, thick, and velvety texture, lots of clams and potatoes, just the way I like it. The main dish was lasagna, but it looked so good I tore into it before I could snap a picture. It was simply divine! Perfect amount of ricotta, sausage, and cheese. Omg!
