This place was great! I was with a group of 5 and when we went in around 11am, it was pretty packed but, seating only took 10 minutes. I wasn't sure of the vibe of the people in the resturant at first, but our waitress, Rosa, was so friendly and patient. She answered all of our questions (and we had a lot). You get A LOT of food for your money. Almost all of us in the group weren't able to finish ours. The omelettes were huge and delicious (you could probably split it between two people as you get toast and potatoes too). Had two meals at the Virginian - breakfast and lunch - during our time in Jackson. Very local and homey. Everything is very fresh. I'd recommend the chicken sandwich and tomato soup for something light. The french dip was also good. Fruit at breakfast was not your typical only melon- it also had strawberries and pineapple which was nice. The grits were good, but needed salt. Homemade biscuit was great. read more

My go to every time I go to a breakfast place is corn beef hash and eggs. The problem is it's either a hit or miss with most breakfast restaurants, well Virginia restaurant hit its mark and go it just right, our server Cindy said she really liked the corn beef hash here. Boy was she right! Thank you Cindy for greeting us with a big smile and for being so nice and attentive, she kept our coffee filled the whole time which I really appreciate. Vacationing, we ate there late after a long hike at nearby Grand Teton. I had the beef fajita salad and liked it very much, the beef was so tender and v ery tasty, although admittedly I only picked at the lettuce and ate only the beef, peppers and onions which were plentiful. My son had the carne asada meal which was huge and delicious as stated by him. My husband had the chili which was very tasty as I sampled it, as was the accompanying roll. He also had the French dip which he said was just ok, no cheese. Our service was great and the prices were average not overpriced at all, except for the soda but maybe I'm just used to fast food drink prices. read more

Ate here this morning on my way out of Jackson Hole to go back home to Southern Utah. My fiancé wanted a "hardy" breakfast, and after looking at Yelp reviews and menus we settled on The Virginian. We got there about 9:30-9:45 am. The wait was long, but that was to be expected; we were getting breakfast, in a tourist town, at the usual time. The gentleman who sat us and started our drinks was fun! He had a good attitude and a great sense of humor. When our waitress arrived, she was kind and relatively attentive (especially given how busy she was.) We all got different meals, we all enjoyed them. (My fiancé's biscuit was awesome.) I'm a creature of habit and I get nearly the same meal every time I eat breakfast, wherever I go. And I have to reiterate (I told the host to tell the cook) the potatoes were great but The Virginian gave me THE BEST over easy eggs I have ever eaten. I don't know if the cook is consistent every time but DAMN. There was no clear or runniness to the whites and the yolks were still perfectly warm and golden. While on vacation with family, leaving Yellowstone, we stopped in for breakfast. It was a pretty unassuming building, but the Yelp reviews were good, so we stopped in. So glad we did! All four of us had great breakfasts, and we each had something different. My omelet was seriously just about the best I've had anywhere - and huge! No way to finish it. Definitely could shared one unless you are really really hungry or a big eater. The offer was also great - which for us is a must. And the service was terrific - friendly, fast, efficient. We chose this restaurant due to its great yelp reviews and cheap prices. We were not disappointed. We were told it would be about s 20-25 minute wait for breakfast and thought about leaving. Not being from the area, we didn't know where else to go so decided to wait. I am so happy we did. This was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. I ordered the biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was perfect and the gravy was delicious. Bacon was cooked to crisp but not burned. My daughter had a byo omelette that she couldn't stop raving about. My nieces had chicken fried steak and said it was the best they've ever tasted. We had a large party and our waitress was fantastic.
