My wife and I came here soon after opening, but bathrooms haven't been clean in at least a week. Pubic hair and urine all over the toilet. GO HERE! I feel like I'm on a Leslie Knope level of Waffle loving and can confidently say I highly recommend this place. The variety they have, from chocolate dipped, to sweet ice cream with fruit, to cheese and meat- is really delicious and amazing. My favorite is the Farm fusion which is mushroom, onion, pepper, spinach, tomato, and chévre. It's an explosion in my mouth of sweet, savory, creamy cheesey. If savory isn't your thing I'd recommend Sachertorte: peach jam, chocolate drizzle, and whipped cream. If you can add ice cream- do it! I had to get mine to go because it was raining, so it was cold by the time I got home. They had both sweet and savory options which made deciding on what to get difficult. I'm assuming I'm spoiled now and most any other place I try will pale in comparison (unless of course I'm in the south). Oh yes, how could I forget the gravy...was also perfect and had that ideal black pepper-y spice to it. We also tried the Three Bs (bacon, brie, basil) another savory and sweet combo that went together shockingly well, most of the sweetness coming from the peach marmalade. I wasn't able to snap a photo of that one before it was devoured by my friends! And for the dessert waffle, the Strawberry Cheesecake was friggin epic. It located in the popular trendy area of Hawthorne on the Bread Ink Cafe building. They have outdoor seating area with a shelter type thing to keep you from being rain on or if it to sunny. You can also eat inside the Bread Ink Cafe. Waffle window is one of those place you take your out of town visitors too. The waffle are liege waffle and they are so good. They offer savory and sweet dessert they also have ice cream and some drinks. I havent had a waffle I haven't like. They even have chicken and waffle. Placed an online order to go, showed up at the restaurant and was standing around for about 15 min without any greeting or customer service from the staff at the front managing all pick up orders. I check in AGAIN, gave them my name, and the same staff member said someone had already picked up my order. The worst part here - i told the guy someone else must have picked up my order by mistake. I called Yelp explaining the situation and they seriously had to call the restaurant to VERIFY what happened..... the restaurant told the Yelp rep that they are remaking my order. We ordered the Whole Farm Waffle (Thick cut pepper bacon, balsamic-red wine braised mushrooms and onions, roasted red pepper, spinach, tomato, and fresh sliced chevre marinated in lemon zest-thyme infused extra virgin olive oil) and a Pearl Sugar Waffle (yeast dough instead of a batter and are baked with pearl sugar). After ordering at the window, we waited a few minutes and then took our orders to a nearby picnic table where people could eat their waffles and enjoy the brisk air. We cut our orders in half and ate The Whole Farm first. The combination of ingredients were fresh and amazing together. If we weren't on an eating spree in Portland, I could've had another. The Pearl Sugar Waffle was also extremely memorable. It had a crunch to it different from other waffles. We were told this was due to using Pearl Sugar instead of granulated sugar.
