I've been here a few times for drinks and the outdoor seating and enjoyed it each time. I recently went the The Wharf with a group of friends and the food was delicious. We split several appetizers. The coconut shrimp, calamari, crab cakes, and clams casino were all great. I got the scallops BLT and they were amazing! I'm very picky with scallops and they were super fresh. The meal came with 6 nice-sized scallops and the risotto was delicious as well. Our waitress, Rowan was pleasant and helpful during our time there. I do wish there were more options on the menu. The outdoor seating could be better/bigger. I do not believe you can sit on the rooftop for dining, only drinks. read more

Have been to the Wharf many times and have always enjoyed ourselves. We went there to celebrate a birthday with special friends and a special meal. However, this time was different. I respect the fact that is a summer hotspot and they have a posted two hour time limit (But only for a partiy of two or four people). Apparently if you have six or more people you have unlimited time. BUT, this night it was not busy, as the restuarant was only three quarters full. Unforunately the staff did not seem to care. We were in the middle of our appetizers and our entrees were brought to the table. Plates had to shuffled and stacked to make room for the newly arrived food. But it didn't end there. Half way through our meals, the bus person comes over and asks if anybody needed a box to take home! You think when you were spending almost three hundred dollars (not including tip) on a meal for four, you would get time to enjoy it. Needless to say we skipped dessert and after dinner drinks, so that's at least $25. that the waitress lost in tips. And the saddest part of this debacle was that they had us out the door in less than an hour and a half! Too many nice places in the area that treat you a lot better. read more

Was in the area had heard good things and was very disappointed. Sat in the pub at a table, asked the bar tender what was a seafood dish they were known for, he stared at the menu for a while and said well I guess the swordfish is good. I ended up ordering the seafood pizza bc he didn't seem to really be helpful. Seafood pizza was just ok, didn't have a lot of flavor and I kept trying to put differnt things on it but nothing seemed to help. The service was subpar as he didn't come around much and for a bartender he lacked any type of enthusiasm. I was just overall very disappointed. This makes me sad! The location is nice and the fact that you can sit outside on the water is great too! The first time I went here about 2 months ago I loved it. Me and my boyfriend feasted on oysters and some drinks. Then he had the baked stuffed shrimp for dinner which was good and I had fish and chips which was good. But then we went back there about 2 weeks ago around 11am hoping to get bloody marys and oysters and maybe have a little brunch. When we got there we couldn't get oysters until noon which wasn't a huge deal. So we decided on the brunch (only option until 12pm) visually it looked so good! Taste wise is was nothing to write home about. The food was just not good what so ever. Ok the French toast was the only thing I liked. The waffles, eggs, pasta, wings, salad, green beans, meat, desserts etc. were all pretty bad. Rubbery or tasteless. We were very disappointed and its $20.00/pp which for a nice tasty brunch I wouldn't mind but definitely not that. It was less than mediocre. AND the bloody marys weren't all that great either. With that said I would go back for the outside atmosphere and some more oysters but that's about it. Definitely never again for their brunch! read more

This is a nice place to go with a water view and a lite bite. I have been there a several times in the last 10 years and its hit or miss on the food. I have never experienced a bad meal, but several of my friends did not have my luck here. I recently returned to RI after 35 years in Minnesota and went to the Wharf many many years ago. I have been going to various restaurants looking for special spots to favor and The Wharf will be one of them. The Caesar Salad was the best I have had in years as was the Seafood Linguini. My date had the Sole Newberg and Smashed Potatoes and we both agreed that we would be returning. The service was OK and felt pushed to order despite available seating throughout. Would've given three stars if I was accounting for the view - but since I was facing the dock and a building (with gas smelling water) / I can only give two. Our server Donna, was great, very tentative and checked on us often. Would be the perfect server for any group; kind and made sure we always had what we needed. Now the FOOD... the chowder wasn't bad, in fact it was probably my favorite part of this odd meal. On carefully inspecting the menu I went for a safe - chicken tender and fries... (With a side of ranch of course) the tenders did come out hot but were not crisp, seems like a light softer batter. The fries were a good portion, yet weren't crisp - a bit too soggy for me. The ranch was better then no ranch but almost seemed to taste like mayo? Overall, perhaps a good place for just drinks and the view. Fabulous! The Wharf has done a fantastic job of transforming into a beautiful remodel, with an updated vibe in Warren while maintaining the hometown family feel. Hosts Tara and Sarah warmly welcomed us as if they had known us forever. We then enjoyed a delicious meal, I ordered the salmon which was cooked perfectly! The manager Tayla, came to check on how things were and was personable with a lovely demeanor and kindness. I was very disappointed with this restaurant. The view was beautiful but the decor is old and tired. The waiter kept telling me that he hadn't been there long.... I really don't care! We had to ask for bread, and when the bread came, ask for butter. We also had to ask for salt, pepper, and more utensils. My husband asked for a fork and was given a cocktail fork. The clams casino were good, otherwise,the food was fair and unimaginative. My prime rib was cold, I asked for it to be heated, the waiter forgot that was being done and tried to clear my plate. Beautiful renovation and aesthetics! The atmosphere is very nice, beautiful views of the water. Love how they opened the deck to dining and the fact that the bar was moved to a beautiful view of the water. Unfortunately the food is just not good. It's not terrible either. It's just very underwhelming and a little disappointing. I understand they just opened a few weeks ago and hopefully they will figure this (huge part of a successful restaurant) out. Just had dinner at The Wharf and as far as the food and service and atmosphere go, it was great!! The herb crusted salmon was perfectly cooked and the portion was generous. Our issue was being served a Cabernet Sauvignon that was ice cold!! Not a wine connoisseur but I do know red wines should be served at room temperature. When we questioned the waitress she asked the manager and was told " it WAS room temp!!" I guess if it was in an Unheated room or out on their dock, she would have been correct! We Googled "Rhode Island brunch buffet," and all of a sudden, glowing reviews of Wharf Tavern's Sunday brunch buffet popped up. With that, off we went to try their buffet, and it was very good. The restaurant itself is really nice and the waterside location on a sunny Fall morning made it a pleasant experience. Along with the atmosphere, brunch itself is very good too. It consists of a pretty wide, yet standard offering of brunch fare including an omelet station, a variety of hot and cold breakfast and lunch foods (eggs, waffles, pancakes, bacon, sausage, pasta and meat dishes, cakes and muffins) and at such a reasonable price, I can see why it's so popular. Service was friendly and prompt in clearing our plates and refilling our coffee, and my only complaint is that several of the large trays at the buffet remained empty for a while, so we were hindered in our attempt to eat as much as possible in a short period of time, but again, at this price you can't really complain. If you're in the area and looking for an inexpensive and filling brunch, this is worth a try. read more

As mentioned in other reviews, the remodel is spot on! Great decorating choices and better use of the space. However, the menu is sparse. One of the specials offered tonight was a greek salad and tuna wrap. I asked if it was canned tuna fish or fresh tuna. I was assured it was fresh. When my order arrived I was disappointed to find canned tuna tossed with way too much mayonnaise. The salad, while it did have feta cheese, (not one olive) was not a greek salad. Way over priced for a tuna fish salad sandwich. Don't think I'll be back anytime soon. read more

Meh. Came here knowing it probably wouldn't be the best food experience (then reviews are quite on point) but was somewhat hopeful regardless. Sat outside by the water which was nice - beautiful day. Our waitress Donna was very nice and attentive, so service wasn't a problem. Had a cup of clam chowder and it was delicious. I got the seafood flat bread pizza - bad choice. It was so soggy and it had foamy white stuff on it that looked like spit. It was so greasy/oily and I simply couldn't finish it after two slices, so I picked the seafood off and ate that. Was disappointed that despite telling them it totally wasn't what I expected (it's not flat bread pizza at all), they charged me full price for it. Bleck. My wife and I decided to stop at the wharf on Saturday night for a drink and some appetizers. Upon leaving we walked to the Square Peg for another cocktail however the bar was full so we walked back to our car. It is then that we were threatened by an employee of the wharf who informed us that the parking lot was for wharf customers only. He further told us to "consider ourselves lucky" because a tow truck was on the way to tow our car. I'm not sure why he assumed we were not customers of the wharf but I can assure you that I will never be a customer of the wharf again. My wife was mortified that this portly man would threaten us like that and assume we hadn't just spent $140.00 on drinks and appetizers when the fact of the matter was that we did. This kind of unprofessionalism is unacceptable and threats to tow my vehicle and leave us stranded are shameful. It should also be noted that the lot was mostly empty at the time. read more

My college roommate and I live in California but decided to take a little trip to the east coast. We came to this restaurant with her East Coast family and we were pleasantly surprised. To start of, when we got off the car, we saw that the floor was filled with white crushed shells. They looked really pretty. I have never seen another restaurant here or on the west coast that does that. When we got inside, the girl at the front sat us down within 5 minutes and promptly gave us a baby chair for my friends niece. In fact, the service we got from everyone was nice and prompt. We sat in one of the outside rooms facing the water and the boats. It was a great view esp. since the sun was going down when we were there. We all ordered something differently. My friend and I ordered the lobster bisque and the clam chowder. Both had a lot of clam and lobster and the taste was awesome. We also shared a salad which was ok. They didnt add the walnuts the menu said it had though. :/ If I lived in the area, I would come back again and order the lobster. The food would have been good were it hot. We arrived on a slow fall Sunday afternoon, hoping for a relatively quick snack before going off to the Touisset Marsh Wildlife Refuge. After being seated, we waited about 10 minutes for a waitress to even say hi. We quickly put in an order and agreed that water would be nice. About 10 minutes later our drinks arrived sans water. A while after that, our food arrived. All dishes served at once and nothing hot. Calamari aren't very good cold. I asked the waitress if we could get the check so that we could leave quickly after eating. She dropped it off, I put out a credit card, and she never came back to either ask about the food or run our check. As we were finishing up, I went out front so that we could pay and get out. Unfortunately, the hostess couldn't run our check directly, but had to find our waitress (who'd gone missing). Eventually, we managed to pay and run out to an Uber. It took 20 mins to get our drinks and an hour to get our starters. Maybe one of the worst meals I've ever had. The sword fish was thin dry and hard. The fries were cold and no veg? The food served to our table never should have been sent out of the kitchen. Came to the rooftop bar over the summer for my first post baby drink! The new renovations are just absolutely beautiful. The views are gorgeous and the drinks were done really well. We finally came back about a month ago for dinner (kids in tow) and were equally wowed. I was a little bit hesitant about coming with kids (infant and toddler) but we came right at 5pm and it was not crowded at all. The staff was super accommodating. We started with the spicy crab queso and calamari. Both were very tasty. For the main course I had the encrusted salmon. It was crazy good with pecans and cranberries, very different than anything I've tried. We finished the meal with some crazy chocolate deliciousness that made my 3 year olds eyes wild. I wish I can remember what drinks we had but I know after each having one my husband and I had to rock paper scissor who had to drive home because we both wanted more. Will definitely be back soon but this place really shines when you can sit outside have a nice slow meal or some rooftop drinks. Warren...the place to be! read more

Instead of doing the same old scampi, I tried their lobster scampi. For $22 dollars it should have at least as much lobster meat as they put into a lobster roll since the rest of the dish is pasta and some garlic and tomato. Are used to come to this place a lot as a kid when it was under a different owner and it was very run down and slowly my family stopped going. After the remodel, I have to say "Bravo!" To whoever took over! The food is excellent, the service is amazing, the staff is way nicer than they used to be, and the ambience is to die for. They have a beautiful outdoor area, a great rooftop bar, and plenty of seating inside. They are handling COVID-19 like pros! One of the best meals I've had in a long time. The drunken little necks were delicious, clams with linguine in white sauce was plentiful and sooooo good. The food was just ok. The swordfish was a decent piece with good flavor. My dish came with fingerling potatoes and Brussel sprouts. Both were very bland. We ordered a garden salad and a Caesar salad to split between three people as none of our meals came with a salad. The Caesar salad was good the garden salad was basically spring mix with a few shriveled up tomatoes a couple of slices of cucumbers and some red onion. We asked for bread and we were told they do not serve bread. Our waitress was just ok. We asked if there were any specials and she said she did not know because the managers were in a meeting. Overpriced, unremarkable dining experience that carried a hefty price tag for the quality of the food. Sorry won't be coming back for a second try. read more
