The Wiltern is such a cool venue. Parking isn't an issue, there's plenty of event parking next to the Ralph's next door. This art deco building has the most beautiful exterior and the inside is just as gorgeous. I am a sucker for old venues / theaters that have a plethora of history behind them. The inside was honestly breathtaking. The bar had this beautiful aura of pink! The theater was intense. I loved every second of the concert (We saw Beach Fossils here last) but the room itself was a whole vibe. We ordered a couple drinks and the service was helpful. I have been here more than 10 years ago for a posthardcore show and I loved it! I loved how there were different levels to the floor area so it allows shorter people to see! LIKE ME! The inside decor is beautiful! My boyfriend and I went to see EVERGLOW on 11/22/23 and I was very excited to show my boyfriend how much I loved the Wiltern. What confused me was he said we had seats. I was thinking.. that doesn't make sense. I thought it was all standing except for the balcony. I was wondering how the seating was going to work.. I was thinking did they put in seats within the last 10 years I have been there? No... it was bar stools and regular chairs! I thought I would be able to see a little bit with the bar stool, but no, couldn't see because, at a KPOP concert, or any concert, people love to stand. I love to stand too, but my issue is that I am very short. My boyfriend and I were able to find another area to stand to see the performance. I hope in the future that it will just be standing GA only no chairs! I heard others arguing with each other because some people were getting frustrated with those standing. From another perspective, I heard that those who were sitting on the balcony were blinded by the lights. What I love about the Wiltern is that there are multiple bars! I was able to get a margarita (25 dollars) which came with a souvenir cup. I bought parking online and parked where those would park for Ralphs. Getting out of the parking structure wasn't an issue surprisingly. I will have to see if we will come back next time. read more

I've been coming to this music venue for as long as I can remember and it's really one of my favorite more intimate venues to see your favorite musicians. And when I say "intimate" I just mean smaller then a stadium vibe but still plenty big. I feel like I get the best of both worlds being downstairs on the general floor as your in the mix with everyone and then upstairs on the balcony you can definitely see your favorite band easily. The seats are comfortable enough, but hey if it's rock n roll you ain't sitting! Lol The staff here at the Wiltern have always been lovely in my experience. From security check in, to the ushers, and the bartenders I feel like they've always secured good staffing here. No jerks & I feel safe at this venue. I appreciate the multiple bar spaces throughout the venue. It's so easy to get cocktails here compared to other music halls. The drinks are average and pricey but that'll be the case any place you go. The venue is clean and easily accessible to get outside for some fresh air in the back. Maybe that sounds funny because it's a smoking area but it's long enough that I can get outside and still feel away from the smoke. The was an alright music venue. It does look a little more rundown and the chairs are pretty old/dirty. The seats on the upper level balcony are honestly not bad. As long as people don't decide to stand up then all seats are pretty good. Wiltern parking lot is a rip off of course at $30 dollars special event parking price but if you're lazy that's the goto. The Wiltern is an iconic and beautiful venue that everyone, especially every Angeleno, should experience at least once. It's an old picture palace and the ornate ceiling and walls just add to a fantastic unique experience. There also isn't really a bad seat in the house. When I was younger I flocked to the GA floor and had a blast. The stage is high enough that you will be able to see whenever you are. These days I tend to go for a seat so I am up on the balcony. And once again, pending any incredibly tall person in the row in front of me, I've never had any trouble seeing and still felt like I was up close. For as big as the venue is, it always feels like it's way more intimate and a much smaller room. Parking, as with most LA spots is the one stain. There is a big lot right next to the venue that is shared with a Ralph's. You'll find parking there no problem. But it's $32 ($30 if you have cash). That's insane. So, if you don't mind walking a bit, I highly recommend parking a block or two away at Aroma. It's $15. Save that extra $15 for some merch for the show or some drinks. Thank me later. read more

Classy theater with great layout, bar presentation, and sound system. My girlfriend and I came one night to see Pierre Bourne and immediately admired the classical vintage aesthetic upon the walking in. The drinks of course are on the higher price end as it is a high end downtown venue/theater. We both ordered a vodka strawberry lemonade which was about $22 each. The drink/bartender service was friendly and great. The concert was very fun, and I look forward to coming here soon for another concert in the future! read more

Haven't been to The Wiltern in awhile. This mouth breathing waste of space was trying to prevent me from getting back to the spot where my boyfriend was while I went to the restroom. I was spending money on the liquor & couldn't hold it anymore. This dude tried to fight me telling me I needed a white wristband for the general admission area - even though NO ONE around us had those. I had to text my boyfriend (losing our spot) to come get me & then he FINALLY let me through. I was in such a sour & pissed off mood that it ruined a few of the songs. When the concert ended I asked for his name & he still was abrasive & a turd - told me he didn't need to give me that info. Beautiful theater, drink and snacks wildly overpriced. Do not bring water bottles, pepper sprays, food snacks to any shows, they will make you coat check them or toss them. They have individual restrooms so be early or go to the restroom before coming. The parking is very decent but costly. This theatre is wheelchair accessible. Ok so I have been to the Wiltern once before (to see Guy Fieri live) and it was pretty cool. Recently we took our son up for a special benefit concert by one of his favorite performers (John Mayer). The Wiltern is one of those iconic spots that you have to visit when you are in LA. The Art Deco design gives those old Hollywood vibes. When we arrived the line to enter was wrapped all the way around the building and down the street. Luckily though the line kept moving and we didn't wait too long to get in after all. The staff has events very streamlined. The opportunity to see a show or concert in such a breathtaking location is such an experience. Once I heard the show was sold out I was a bit worried, the first time we had gone was more cooking and we had special seating on stage. If I remember correctly there was seating set up on the floor as well so there was no real trying to find a spot and pushing. Even though the concert was sold out there was plenty of room to stand on the floor. We were in the second section in front of the stage (not the immediate pit area). There were a few people that had no sense of personal space but it didn't ruin our evening. The staff was friendly and made sure those who had physical seats upstairs on the balcony did not come down to the floor area. We had a good spot and could see the stage perfectly (acoustics are pretty good as well). The bars were crowded at first but tapered down after time and the drinks were fairly reasonably priced (compared to other venues). There is a parking structure within walking distance of the venue and a few places to grab a bite to eat. Parking for this event was $35, standard I suppose. Beware though (and the parking staff made sure to let you know when entering as well as when parking) the structure closes promptly at 11:30PM. The event ended just before 11 and we had plenty of time to get out of there. Exiting the venue and parking was just as easy as the process to enter. Such an remarkable venue to watch amazing artists (especially when it is John Mayer and Ed Sheeran). read more

Thanks all for the pro tip for $16 parking at Aroma Parking. Getting into The Wiltern was very fast and quick. I didn't bring a bag. The bathroom line for women was a bit insane but it moved fast. The 2 stars are for the GA section. I really messed up by getting the cheapest tickets ($80!). The standing section is not on a slope and the stage is not very high. I couldn't see the band at all unless someone moved their head. This was one of the worst experiences I've had at a concert. Sure, I should've moved up higher to get a better view, but I was afraid I would lose a spot to get a worse spot. Just awful standing section and walking outside Ktown at night is sketch af. read more

Only giving one star due to the staff member that ruined me and my bf's experience. We had tickets to Ginger Roots show and had bought pit tickets with added on club access tickets. After waiting since 10am we finally get let in through the downstairs area for vip and then got let through to go to the pit. There was a worker standing at the area that separates the pit and GA section. Mind you only club access people were let in at this time. I go to the merch table when my bf comes to get me. He tells me that this worker had asked him to show her our tickets to get access to the pit when he already had the pit wristband on but the tickets were on my phone. The security guard was VERY rude about the situation, asking with attitude why his gf(me) didn't give him his ticket for her to check and didn't even bother to check my boyfriend's wristband when she told him he needed one to enter. by the time we went back to the security guard she didn't even care to scan our tickets anymore and was only checking wristbands. also during the show i had dropped my phone in between the stage and barricade and the security guards kept making eye contact with me but didn't care to help. this has been the only concert i've been to where stage security was not being helpful. After paying extra for club access, my expectation was not met at all. Wiltern please do a better job with your staff :( read more

I saw Foster The People's 10th-anniversary Torch concert here and had a great time. The band's performance gets a 5-star rating from me, but not the venue. They get a 4. I appreciate the precautions they take for Covid. You have to show proof of Covid vaccination to enter the concert hall. What I didn't care for was how tight and disorganized the inside of the venue was. They only had one table for merchandise, and I wasn't impressed by the general standing room pit area either. There was not much slope, and it was hard to see. I love the vintage feel of the building though, and I appreciate Foster the People's decorations of the venue. The artist Nick Van Hofwegen aka "Young & Sick" who designed the Torch's album had some life size cut out decorations of his work around the amphitheater. read more

We came to watch Bassem Youssef live and had a great time. He truly nailed it and understood the crowd, recognizing many people had lost family and loved ones in Gaza and Beirut due to Netanyahu's war mongering tactics. Youssef found a way to uplift the audience and replace our tears with some needed laughter and validation. We're impressed with The Wiltern's willingness to host this critical and necessary event. It was easy to park next door at the Ralph's and walk over (although it was a hefty $40 to park) and despite our seats further away in the Mezzanine section, visual and sound quality were great. I just wish the water - Liquid Death - was more affordable since they didn't allow us to bring any outside drinks in. $10 for regular water is a bit steep when you're buying multiple cans. Other than that, it was a great venue and an incredible event. read more

This was my first time going to the Wiltern and this building is just beautiful. Very art deco feels and you can see and feel the history of this place. We went for the Tom Segura comedy show and he brought the funnies!! The Wiltern is following all safety COVID guidelines and had a good system set up Friday night. They screened everyone in line for their COVID test or Vaccine card and everything was smooth. i will probably never come back to this venue as long as i live. i am neurodivergent and disabled. this place is not safe for people like me. one of the employees (mia) was nasty to me unprompted. because i didn't process information fast enough for her. i have adhd. sometimes i don't register every word that someone says. basically, i got separated from the person i went to the concert with. for context, i have cptsd and i don't leave the house by myself. ever. i usually have some sort of meltdown if i don't have someone with me. i'm also autistic. so it happens. but as i got separated from my friend, this woman tells me i have to get my bag checked and he would be able to meet me inside and she mentioned the tickets aren't read at the door. i didn't register that last part. i was stressed about being able to get in without tickets because he went ahead of me. my mistake? for having cognitive issues?? then she said if i had just been listening or paying attention to her, i would know that already. i did hear her. but i did not register the words i heard until she repeated it. so here's what you did wrong, mia. what you heard in my voice was not rudeness. it was panic. and not only did you make me panic more, you put me down for something i was born with and can't control. instead of you calming my fears, you made me feel terrible. she also repeated to me about three or four times that she was going to get someone else to come over and explain things to me because i didn't understand. the manager or whatever actually came over to "explain things" to me. i told him she put me down for my disability and he said in those words? and i said no, and then explained what happened. he got all apologetic and backed away. yeah. that's what i thought. this is me breaking this down for you as simply as i can. maybe you'll be able to understand. you see how ugly that sounds? i am autistic i have adhd and i have cptsd autism - you messed up my concert routine. i got separated. i panicked. not my fault. autistic people have trouble with transitions and changes to routine. adhd - you put me down for "not listening" and what actually happened is i have adhd which can make you miss details when being spoken to. sometimes my brain disconnects. and it wanders. or if i'm just stressed out (which i was and mia made it worse) i don't hear things then either. you were ableist and you insulted my intelligence. i am literally on ssi because i can't process information. cptsd - i have extreme fears over being alone while out of the house. because ive been traumatized so many times. that's why there's a c before the ptsd. i have ptsd times ten. i can't be alone. i will panic. period. you didn't UndErStaNd that i was stressing over the situation, not being rude or nasty to you. you're the one who started that nonsense. i genuinely hope you learn something from this. but i doubt you will. you seem to have trouble understanding. you ruined my night and spiked my cortisol and put me into fight or flight and i had already taken my anxiety meds and night meds. i also had a supplement that lowers cortisol. and you made it spike. my fitbit noted the stress response. i had everything in my system to help me be chill and you managed to destroy that for me within about two minutes of being absolutely ridiculous and nasty. i was really excited for this concert. and it was a good experience during the show. but everything else was absolutely god awful. read more

This was my first time seeing a show at the famous Wiltern . The place looks old from the outside but inside is very beautiful and elegant. It has 3 floors with each floor having multiple bars for fast service. I was able to get seating tickets at the Loge row AA and I really liked them. It was a great view not to far from the stage. Like too many Los Angeles landmarks it's formidable and imperial in appearance, while flawed in functionality for actual human users. You won't be left unimpressed by the art deco curves and stucco detail in the vaulted ceilings, and the sheer height of the hall. But try viewing the stage if someone sits in front of you. Folks: there's no gradual rise to the seating banks. It's a no-brainer to do that for concert hall seating, but then maybe the architects weren't thinking with their right brains. Witness the bathrooms: too few for the size of the crowd expected, and would easily lead to fire code violations because it's cordoned off in the basement corner. On the other hand, I loved the dark carpeted interior in the lobby, because Los Angeles sorely lacks a sense of softness otherwise: witness the severe glass and steel facades of the modernist downtown and the barren concrete that goes on for eternity without the benefit of green. I like this theater's proximity to the purple line metro station and bus lines. The bar is nice (and overpriced for the lackluster cocktails and staff who seem over the novelty of serving members of the public.) I wouldn't touch the food here since you're within a block of multiple ethnic fast foods in Koreatown that will taste better and more fresh. At the Kennedy Center in DC, there's a program of senior citizen volunteers who guide people to their seats. I reflected on how genteel that feels compared to robotic, paid staff for whom hospitality is a job. I wouldn't pay to go here again. The visibility of the stage is too severe a problem. read more

Came here for the Larry June show. It's a strong venue. Although the line wrapped around the block, they made sure it moved quickly. When you get inside it has a somewhat classy feel with chandeliers and plush carpets. They have the pit area at the bottom then the seating area at the top. Not really a bad view in the house. The security people at the bottom were kinda assholes and the drinks were typically LA overpriced but aside from that it was a smooth show with no complaints. read more

What lousy seats! Oh man were we disappointed. Our $250 per seat tickets were level with the seats in front of us. No slope, no downward angle to make the heads in front of you obstruct less of your view. We went for the Moscow Nutcracker Ballet which I absolutely loved. The set design was a solid C but the ballerinas talent was exceptional! You can imagine how disappointed i was when I took my seat only to realize I couldn't see anything other than the edges of the stage. My husband had the same issue so we said, this is not going to work & opted to stand in the back of the theater. Thankfully a gentleman filming gave me his seat & my husband & I rotated sitting during the show... not what you expect when purchase seats. Row K were our seats. Needless to say, despite the lousy seating the show itself was wonderful. The set design was a bit underwhelming. I did learn at the back theater there are high top tables for reservations. Given the floor isn't sloped I'd recommend those seats along there or the balcony. read more

The sound was over-modulated due to volume. I'm grateful that Metric played some acoustic songs because I could enjoy the artistry of those. But for the hard rock songs, it was like the mixer's goal was to make it as loud as possible, to the point where the instruments blended together and it just sounded like noise. Loud is fine, people can wear earplugs if they want. But turning everything up to 11 meant that it was like listening to a radio with broken electronics. Great crowd at this show! read more

The Wiltern is a historical building located on the corner of Wilshire and Western. I love the fact that's right across the Purple Metro Line which I prefer doing rather than paying $25 fee at the parking structure shared with Ralph's. The building has a stunning Art Deco architecture. I'm always in awe of the beautiful, intricate designs in the columns and ceilings. I particularly like the sunburst ceiling design by the entrance which is adorned by neon lights. A bigger sunburst design can be found in the ceiling of the main auditorium. I have watched so many classic movies, shows, and concerts here. I had the opportunity to be seated in the different sections of this auditorium, be it orchestra, lodge, or even mezzanine. With that, I can definitely say, there's absolutely no bad seat in here. Wherever you are seated, there's always a good view. The cascading arrangement of chairs help a lot in getting the best views. I like the easy check in process. Restrooms are conveniently located at the basement and second floor. There's a bar and snack area. Staff is friendly although there are times that they're not sure where to direct people. Also, the stairs by the lodge section pose a hazard for people going up and down especially in the dark. I've seen so many of them taking a fall due to uneven width of the steps. read more

Came to the Wiltern theater for the 1st time yesterday. It's a really cute small but great venue for a concert. I took my daughter here to see the Pentagon. It's a really cute and good space for a concert but when you have hundreds of screaming girls, it can pierce your ears. I would recommend bringing ear plugs for people with sensitivity. And also I feel like all the teens was using a whole bottle of bath and body works sprays so if you are sensitive like me, you might want to take a tylenol and walk outside for a bit. Overall, it was enjoyable time with my daughter. I'm disabled and this is my first time here so to me, I feel like they don't cater to people with disabilities. I try to ask questions but seems like they don't have time to listen to you. Oh well it was a free concert for my daughter but I think next time, I would try to ask more question before I go to avoid being in pain. read more

They have plenty of bars both outside on the foyer and inside. I also liked the DJ that was there. He did a great job. CONS: We went to see a concert here and were very disappointed in the seating. They have taken out all the old seating and replaced them with rows of fold up chairs which are zip tied together so you are totally sitting on top of each other. If you or someone is bigger than a size 8 you will be touching legs and arms...lol. Even though it has tiered seating there are several rows of seating on each tier. I enjoy the venue for what it is, a classic venue. There are seats. Their seats might not be cozy in the top area, but it makes up for how any seat in the house is good to see your favorite artist. I suggest you use a parking app or parking in their designated area next to Ralphs but be warn you will be paying about $30+. Their sound and lighting are good and won't disappoint. Check out their deals for a beer and a shot. Overall, this would be one of my favorite venues in LA besides the Hollywood Bowl and the Greek Theater. read more

I've been to The Wiltern 2 times now once in November last year for Cannibal Corpse and this year in May and my experiences have been largely the same each time I've been there Starting with the food the items they have are standard movie theater food like pizza, nachos, popcorn, sodas( Coke and sprite mostly), and some candies like bars of chocolate. I've only tried the pizza w/ Coke and chocolate so far and the first time I went the pizza was alright not bad but nothing special, though coming back it tasted like a down grade, perhaps mines was a bad batch but it was unappetizing after a few bites but it gets the job done when your thrashing around and need sugar for more energy. I've been both on the ground floor and Mezzanine areas of the venue. The Mezzanine is nice with always a great view of the stage no matter what seat as well as cup holder for your drink and overall more relaxed compared to the ground floor. The ground floor is the same as any venue, a good amount of wiggle room and easy to get out with the side paths. Tips to when coming to the venue are * Don't over think on waiting to go to the bathroom just go or else there will be a line stretching to the ground floor when you do go * If going to the Mezzanine seating don't ignore going downstairs for the merch shop that's right next to the ground floor entrance a lot of people missed it * The seating numbers for the Mezzanine are uneven meaning it's not 18 then 19 seating it's 18 then 20 so don't think your tickets have the wrong seat they are just designed that way and you will still be seated with your friends * The time between bands feels longer that you think so go get food before the show starts you will 100% finish eating before the next band starts read more

Not sure why they arrange the seating like that. Odd and even seats are on different sides of the theatre. And the numbers are hard to read. We had 4 seats that were scattered around, but there was a random person sitting in every single one of our seats. Security can't control the crowd. They tell you to come an hour early because it's pure chaos. We got accused of trying to "cheat the system" by the woman security guard so she wouldn't help us get to our correct seat. The show had already begun and we just had to sit somewhere random or else we'd have to move entire rows around. After the show ended she was still lecturing us on our way out even though we missed half the show. read more

There are so many venues in LA for shows/concerts/etc., but the Wiltern definitely stands out. It's got amazing architecture and a really nice cozy type of atmosphere. Note that general admission is usually standing room, but they do have seats available on the upper levels (which are a tad more). I went most recently to watch Jessie J. I hadn't been since the remodel, and I really liked it. Overall the acoustics were really good! I think it's also nice watching a show somewhere historic, just because of that general old school vibe you get. Now, there are of course some downsides here, which I'm not sure are more on the concert promoters or the venue. For example, before showtime they just have a giant line that goes back 3 blocks and nobody is really managing it. There's nobody to ask questions to etc., because even when you have reserved seats you have to wait in the line, but I guess if you're not worried about your standing space you could just go a little later if you're ok missing the opening acts. Note: This happened in February, before the pandemic. If you are an LA resident or visiting, this venue needs to be in your bucket list. The theater has an elegant interior, and a downstairs bar with overpriced mixed drinks and yet you can't help but purchase one and hang out with strangers before the show begins. I didn't order food, because the snacks are also overpriced but they do offer hot dogs, pretzels, chips and candy, along with bottled water. They also let you bring a small bag, so that was nice. The concert hall itself provides a small, yet intimate experience as you see your favorite artist up close. The sound quality is amazing yet loud, so bring earplugs if you are sensitive. In the two times I went, they offered general admission standing, which means you could stand as close or as far from the main stage. But if you wish to sit down, they have orchestra seating as well. The venue also has a bar in the back just in case you want to get another overpriced drink, which I did. It adds more fun. Since it is in the heart of Koreatown, there are downsides if you arrive here by car. The parking is around $30 if you park near Ralphs. But to save money you could do rideshare or take the metro (the purple line and the 720/20 bus both stop at the corner of Western/Wiltern. If taking the 710 northbound, it also stops here (correct me if I am wrong). Overall, if you go here, bring earplugs if you are sensitive to loud noise, show up early if you want to stand in the front rows, bring money for merch and the overpriced drinks if you want some, and have fun. read more

Worst experience at a venue and I've been a Los Angeles native for 25+ years. Went inside spent $40 for one drink, after went to the merch table spent over $100 including parking at their validated parking structure. I was kicked out for vocalizing my opinion on a staff member at the coat check after I have paid and presented my ticket to the staff after they said I couldn't take my items back. It was a spiked bracket that they made me pay for coat check. Staff members opinion of who they pick and choose doesn't mean they can escort customers out because they feel invalidated. I had proof of my tickets and can still present proof anytime you would like. I spent $50 for this ticket in January just to show up and have myself removed before I even got to enjoy myself at the venue even after I paid for parking, and spent around $90+ on merch before even going into the pit. Your staff's opinions are being overlooked and should not be tolerated this way. Bad experience and the drinks are expensive. read more

The two stars are for nothing more than the seating, super uncomfortable, rows super close. If one person is late to seat, everyone has to stand up and come out for that person to sit down. We witnessed it no less than 4 times, three of which were between last row of handicapped and first row behind them. They cram the down in, they are the most uncomfortable folding chairs. I will be very reluctant to buy a ticket to this venue again because of this. Next biggest complaint was start time. Tickets stated show to begin at 7pm, it started at just past 8p. We left restaurant we had been at at 630 to insure we were inside at seated by 7p. Instead we had to wait until 7 before doors opened. We could have stayed at the restaurant much longer had it been more accurate on the tickets. read more
