I have to say from all the little places my sister has taken me to around the AV, this is my favorite burger place. I don't know if it's just the familiar taste, but it reminds me of my childhood; eating burgers on the side of the road with my parents.... oooooh and the onion rings, don't get me started on those, perfect portion for sharing. Haven't had a good breakfast burrito since we moved out here over a year ago. Asked the nurses at one of my hubby's Dr visits were we could get a good breakfast burrito. This was their recommendation. On this particular day, I was in the mood for Pancakes but the hubby wanted a breakfast burrito. We were not disappointed. Although it's still not quite as good as our OG spot in Pico Rivera, very close second. The Pancakes were just what I wanted, well I settled for the short stack due to the cost of $4 a pancake! I know everything has gotten so expensive, but come on! The Pancakes were definitely delicious. The burrito was good and kinda big. Enough to enjoy for a late lunch. Food is good not great but too expensive for ordinary food, the pricing is ridiculous. Service fair. Ambiance could be cleaner.

Pastrami was delicious and full of meat. Fresh bun also. Fries cooked perfectly, lightly salted. Dr Pepper was the perfect mix of syrup. We got food from here during Covid, so we ate in the car. I am not from the area, so someone who lives in the area recommended this to me. Only reason I gave the Workz four stars is because we had to eat in the car. read more

This place is disappointing. I went expecting great food & great service per all the great reviews. At first site everything looked great , they were nice, nothing wrong . I ordered a club Sandwich with no bacon or tomatoes extra toasted. The Sandwich came out with tomatoes on it (which I'm allergic too which is why I asked for none to be put on). They agreed to remake it , when it came out , it was not extra roasted so I asked once again , can they just toast the bread for me, they said yes. It comes back out , I eat half the Sandwich & proceed to eat the second half, once I'm half way through the second half I find HAIR in my food! Completely disgusting . At this point I ask for a refund because I've had enough disappointments. The manager JUAN tells me , "it's a Normal mistake , it happens there every 2-3 months , it's not a big deal" . Completely disgusting & no regard for anyones food or health . He proceeds to tell me he will not refund me for my meal, only for my Sandwich. I've eaten at the works many times since moving to CA. It's consistently good and relatively affordable, I think I've only ever had one issue one over a dozen orders in the last year and DoorDash sorted it out. I've never eaten in the restaurant, so I can't really speak to that but I've gotten delivery through all the usual delivery apps. I recommend the Carne Asada Fries or the Buffalo Chicken fries. I don't know if this one is owned by the same people as the one in Mojave, but the one in Mojave is WAY BETTER. I've been going to the lancaster one since they opened and they literally NEVER get it right with their Carne Asda, in anything. Their meat is either a cheap, crappy cut, or the cook/chef does a horrible job of prepping it and cutting it, because it's chewy af and has loads of hard fat. Every. Single. Time. Mojave never has this issue. Also, don't get their "Barq's Root beer." It isn't and has never been Barqs, it's their very weird homemade concoction that hardly resembles root beer. It's some sort of cinnamon BS. They used to display it as homemade, but now they label it as "Barq's," it absolutely isn't Barq's, you can't even lie and say it's a bad carbonated water/syrup mix; it's atrocious. Oh, and their hot wings are as dry as the Sahara Desert... They need to do more than just toss the wings in the sauce, they should pour a little on them afterwards. This place is NASTY!!! Before you order maybe just wait and observe how many people walk out with no To-Go boxes and full plates at the table. The worse part is that even if I wanted to force my self to enjoy this nasty and dry food. I am still forced to drink a 7UP that's basically just carbonated water and a horchata that tastes like spoiled milk. I couldn't wash down this nasty ass food with a good beverage because everything else was some weird off brand stuff that was ALSO very WATERED DOWN! Made it all taste like kool aid with no sugar.
