The food came out fairly fast and the portion size was worth the price. Amazing hospitality offered which made our experience 10x's better! If you're craving something sweet, I would highly suggest the french toast- perfectly toasted with the right amount of cinnamon, chocolate sauce and fruits to top it off. Stopped here with my mom after seeing the reviews--this hold in the wall breakfast/lunch spot has EVERYTHING; not to mention great service, great food, and that hidden gem atmosphere. We stopped by for brunch and had to wait ~20 minutes outside as the shop only can seat around 20-30 at any given time. Sitting at the bar, we watched as the chef prepared each omelette to order as well as the bacon, sausage, and other breakfast items. Portions for the price point were a GREAT value, especially compared to other restaurants in Boston, which easily gives them 5-stars. What a great breakfast spot in the north end! The neighborhood might have all of the great pasta joints you've ever loved but a good breakfast is hard to come by here. The line at this place is usually out the door so my boyfriend and I went on a Friday morning to avoid the crowd. All of the tables were still full but we snuck in at the right time. Stopped in for breakfast before catching a train out of town, with my husband. You can tell this is a popular spot by the constant stream of people waiting in line for a table. The service is phenomenal, and the food arrives at your table the second it's done. So you get hot food even if your pancakes are ready before your eggs. Speaking of pancakes, wow are hey fluffy and delicious! The coffee is decent (not too weak) and the eggs were yummy. The inside is absolutely tiny, but they get people in and out as fast as possible. 1. Service - Our waitress was outstanding, polite, nice, and a friendly smile. She saw that we had a baby with us, and she gave us a small plastic cup and spoon even though we didn't ask for one. Price - very affordable. Under $10 a plate. 3. Ambiance - a bit tight, however, many businesses in Boston is similar to this. Dress code is casual. 4. Food - we came here for breakfast and I've had the over-easy-eggs, sausage, toast, pancakes, and coffee. This is a generic breakfast meal at most places, but I have to say, their pancakes and toast were nicely done. This is a Brazilian restaurant, so we'll have to come back if we're ever back in Boston. 5. Cleanliness - they maintain their dining area pretty clean. Sorry for the mess my baby left behind. We were so excited to try this restaurant after reading all the rave reviews here on Yelp. Came on a Saturday morning in February and waited in line outside. It was cold but we knew the food would be so worth the wait. There's only a few tables inside so it took about an hour, not the 15mins the host/owner had initially said. I think it's important to note that if you come here, you should really be into sweet breakfast. Come for the French toast and pancakes, not for the more savory items. Sadly, I think they didn't execute our dishes well, but as we looked around it seemed we ordered "the wrong thing." I'll steal the phrase my husband used to explain this restaurant, "over hyped." The breakfast is typical mom/pop area. The inside seats about 6 tables and do have outdoor seating. The only downside is that you have to pay in cash, which I wasn't aware of. There is an ATM right around the corner but it was a little inconvenient not knowing they don't accept cards. They do have high chairs if needed and overall I would recommend coming here. read more

Amazing experience! We are vegan and this restaurant is not but they took great care to make sure we had a delicious, healthy portion of breakfast. I've not seen a restaurant this clean in a very long time. The kitchen hood, spotless. The air intake vent in the ceiling, spotless. Nutritious omelette, soft pancakes and tasty ham with perfect toasted bread. If you can handle spicy, don't forget to ask the staffs for their special spicy sauce . All the food was amazing, staffs were friendly and the atmosphere was really cozy just like the name. A little reminder is this place takes cash only!! My wife and I had a very nice breakfast at Theo's this morning. The staff are very welcoming and efficient. Although it's a small place, it was very clean and kept that way by immediately wiping down tables as people finished their meals and left. My wife had a breakfast sandwich on an English muffin which she liked. I went for a heartier breakfast of corned beef hash, which came with three eggs, home fries and toast. Portion sizes are more than adequate and I'd go back there anytime. In fact, when I lived in the North End (over 25 years ago), I ate there often (under different owners). One note of caution is that they take "cash only"! They can get crowded if you get there at the wrong time, but we lucked out. They also do take out. read more

Came here around 11:30am this past Saturday morning and only had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated as a party of two. We didn't put our names down but just let the waitress know that we were waiting outside. Close quarters with your fellow diners but that's what makes it cozy. We were lucky enough to be seated at the counter facing the chef working his magic on the griddle (cooking here for 26 years and counting!). Watching him cook set me back to square one as everything he made became what I then craved. Omelettes, bacon, sausage, eggs scrambled, over easy, ... all looked good and fun to watch. From the back (away from view), would emerge everything else: fluffy pancakes, waffles, corned beef hash. I'm not sure what was happening back there but, wow. I love breakfast but I'm always torn when I have to choose between sweet and savory. Recently I've gotten into the habit of getting one of each and splitting it with a friend- easily the best of both worlds. We got... Corned beef hash with three eggs (poached), came with home fries and toast. Waffles with chocolate chips and bananas, topped with strawberries and powdered sugar (as per the owner's recommendation) When our order came out, it didn't come with hollandaise sauce which left me just a little distraught. Immediately upon seeing this, the owner/cashier/server/person-who-seemingly-does-everything didn't hesitate and got us a small bowl of hollandaise sauce. All was right with the world. Omg. The corned beef hash together with the perfectly poached egg and the creamy hollandaise sauce was incredible. Not as greasy as I expected and so freakin' good. When the waffle came out, I don't think I even noticed it until we were done with the corned beef hash. That good. Waffle, though, was also tasty. Strawberries were fresh, the bananas made the waffles moist and the chocolate chips made it just a tad sweet. The true winner though, is easily the corned beef hash. Left the cozy corner in a food induced stupor, ready to take on Boston. Can't wait to go back! Cash only. read more
