The Indian guy manager slick-talking, upselling, greasy car salesman, tells me I need an alignment really bad and that he would help me buy giving me a free alignment if I bought and replaced all 4 tires. I said yes, again, he was so smooth. After they replaced the tires, he told me the alignment machine was "broken" and that I need to come back for the alignment. Every time I went back to try to get my "free alignment" that he promised, the alignment machine was "not working." He tricked me!!!! Lied straight through his teeth, never kept his promise of a free alignment!!!!! BEWARE!!!!! He's a SCAMMER! He's a lying cheat!!! He will promise you and say anything to get you to buy 4 tires!!! You have been warned!!!!! Oh, also, I noticed that the tires he put on my car have defects, cracks, etc. They were supposed to be brand new tires!!! The store is huge, very clean, and seemed to have plenty of employees working. It took a little while to get to me since they already had a lot of scheduled appointments, but once I met Pedro, everything went smoothly. He took great care of me and answered my questions while I decided which tires to buy. What really impressed me was that they had already pulled my car into the service bay and started working while I was making my decision. After I chose my tires and paid, I sat down expecting the usual long wait. To my surprise, about 10 to 15 minutes later, my car was ready to go. I was completely shocked. I've spent hours waiting at other tire shops, but not here. These guys work efficiently and provide great customer service. Sure, they mention a few additional products and services, but what tire shop doesn't? The difference is they're not pushy about it at all. There was no attendant at the air check station. I waited a few minutes. Then I called (no one picked up) and finally I went inside. I caught the attention of one of the employees and informed him that I was waiting to get air for my tires. He said he would get an attendant and I confirmed that I should go back to my car. I wait in my car and no one shows up. I decide to now go to the Fremont location on Beacon. Normally, there is an attendant to check the air in your tires. I drive there. An employee acknowledges I am there. Another employee says someone will be out. I waited at least 13-15 minutes before I realized--I need to go back to work! All in all--I spent 25 minutes driving around to two different locations. I sat in my car waiting and did not get any air in my tires. I drove back to work with the signal still on my dashboard. Very disappointing experiencing at both locations but especially Union City.

I hate trying to find honest car spots for my car needs. I came all the way from Livermore because he said this place was worth it. Well, he was not wrong! It only took a little less than 2hrs for me to get a set of new tires and an alignment. The environment is comfortable and all of the staff I interacted with is so kind! They didn't mind that I set up my "office" in their waiting room so I can work while they did the job. There were some senior citizens waiting and the staff showed them so much respect and kneeled down to speak with them to show they were not just "customers" but, they are there to take care of them. That touched my heart. After my car was done, I was told that I get free tore rotations and that they can also do an oil change at the same time as it is recommended to do both at once to keep everything top notch. I will FOR SURE make the drive to Hayward to do that every 3,000 miles! If you need a reliable, honest, & quick place for your tire/car needs, this is the place!

At some point in time a lot of the self service auto parts was turned over to Advance Auto - I'm not sure the relationship if there is any at all - but the parts store was great when it was run under the Pep Boys leadership. I've always liked how friendly the Pep Boys side was for car repair. Sometimes I even come by with some extra oil when I do my own oil changes and the guys there let me drop off. This is a great full service auto maintenance spot if you don't like the dealers. It's usually quicker and cheaper too. Right now the Advance Auto Parts next door has signs up that they are moving or going out of business. Would be great if Pep Boys takes over again like they once did years and years ago.

i held off on making this review but idc anymore... i took my car to pep boys to replace the brake…read morepads & at first i thought maybe it was bc they were short staffed the day i was told to bring it in. the day i brought my car in, everything seemed fine and the job seemed to have been PROPERLY done.. however, i noticed after they gave me my car back, i still had really bad squeaking (yes i know new brakes squeak esp if they're wet) but because i couldn't stand listening to the squeaking of my brakes, i took matters into my own hands and took off my wheel and the pads, i come to find that the "new" brake pads they installed had chipped on both the passenger and driver side pad. Also the hardware for said brake pad was sooo loose & when you get a set of pads, the hardware comes with... so i just see a whole lot of "lack of care" in the service that was done & not inspecting the product before placing it on the car is a rookie move imo. let's just say i won't be coming back & now that they fucked up and made me learn how to do my own pads, this is a lesson learned.
