I got the bun thit nuong from here for take out a couple of weeks ago and it was really good! They gave a lot of meat, noodles, and fresh vegetables for the dis. I really like how the pork was marinated. It wasn't too salty, but it had the perfect balance of sweet and savory with it. Their bun cha is also equally delicious. It's essentially the bun thit nuong, ut instead of grilled pork chop, it's like a pork patty. Definitely recommend these two dishes if you love bun thit nuong. :) read more

Well there's lots of yummy things to eat here if you enjoy authentic Vietnamese food. The go to is the grilled turmeric fish. You get plenty of herbs and lettuce and noodles. Don't forget to ask for the rice paper to wrap up all of that yummy goodness into a personal roll. There's two types of dipping sauce. The normal fish sauce and the shrimp paste sauce that will curl your nose hair. It's earthy and "ooo mammy". Yeah. You will taste it. Ask for lemon/lime and squeeze some in it to help calm it down. My family and I came for the famous fish dish and was not disappointed! Even though the menu says that it serves 2, it really can fill up 3-4 people. The baked fish comes on a burning platter and underneath the fish is onions, onions, and dill. There are also peanuts sprinkled on top. You have to slightly cook and toss the dish to caramelize the onions to allow all the flavors to meld together. It also comes with rice wraps, fish sauce, vermicelli, mint, basil, lettuce, cucumbers. You basically just add fish and whatever you want to your rice wrap. You wrap it up, and devour! The fish was delicious and tender, but not overly tender so you don't have to worry about the fish breaking up easily. The fish was also perfectly seasoned. The caramelized onions added a sweetness, the dill added an aromatic fragrance, and the peanuts were lightly charred to give extra texture. As a tip if you don't want your platter to keep cooking you can ask you waiter or waitress to help you put it out. In addition, the service here was great! Usually Asian restaurants tend to have lackluster service, but our waitress gladly let us take our time to look over the menu and brought us whatever we requested. She was super friendly and smiley. I came for dinner on a Saturday night. They have a lot of tables so although there were many patrons, we got seated right away. They have a lot on their menu and I didn't order what seemed the more popular options based on yelp and nearby diners (because they were more like sharing dishes). This review is based solely on the brisket and flank pho. There were a few lean brisket slices and more fatty brisket slices. Maybe they're striving for variety but I prefer just lean for pho which some other restaurants do. They usually specify fatty brisket if that's what they're going to use. I actually couldn't tell what was brisket and what was flank but the one that is kind of stringy and chewier, I did not care for. There were also many peices of tendon? I'm not sure why? Maybe the English translation of the dish isn't accurate but I didnt like most of the tendon pieces because they were either hard or too chewy. The noodles were fine. The soup had that dish detergent taste which I've been told is sometimes actually an herb they use in the broth? Not great anyway. The daikon egg appetizer is not bad. I feel like I just ordered the wrong thing here but I was offput enough by my pho that I probably wont be back to try anything else. read more

I come here for their banh xeo and it's hits the spot every time. Portion size is good for 2 but if you have an appetite then you may be able to finish it all by yourself. This should be consumed the same day or else it's soggy the next day. Their egg rolls are okay and most likely won't be getting them again. Service is good before covid. I always crave the cha ca la vong here - basically fried turmeric fish on a bed of dill, onions, and green onions on top of a sizzling plate. Wrap it up with vermicelli noodles, vegetables, and a rice wrap and dip it into the fermented shrimp/fish sauce. The freshness of the dill with the mam tom sauce is what really makes this dish for me. *if you do decide to take it to go, the onions/dill does not come cooked & it is an extra $2 charge if you want the rice paper wrap (but it is basically unlimited if you dine in). On days that I am lazy to make my own rolls, I like to get the hot pot combo. It's a tom yum soup base with mushrooms, chinese celery, fried tofu, and a bunch of other vegetables with a side of fish, squid, shrimp, mussels, beef, napa cabbage, and your choice of noodles. Both dishes are recommended for 2 people, but they give a generous amount that can feed 3 comfortably. I have also tried the bo luc lac here and the beef is always very tender. Once again definitely recommend this place for first timers eating Vietnamese food. My parents and I go here all the time. Super cheap and very filling! I like that even though it is asian they use nice plates to display their food (similar to my review regarding Pho Minh). This restaurant is definitely family style and has a lot of variety of food choices. My family and I always get these two items for sure: Fried Flour Cake and Cha Ca La Vong. These items are what this restaurant should be known for! The Fried Flour Cake is pretty much taro squares cooked in an egg shaped pancake. You eat it with their sauce which is like teriyaki soy sauce. The Cha Ca La Vong is fish fried/cooked in a curry like covering. When it comes out it is still sizzling on the pan, which I think is pretty cool. The workers here are pretty friendly and this place always seems to be crowded. Much better food than the Pho Hanoi I was treated to earlier in the weekend. There's a reason why this place is always so crowded, and I like to think it has more to do with the food than the rather tacky decor. I had rice with a pork chop and fried egg, which was actually really good even if the egg was a little dry. I think the best dish I had was actually trying out the fried pho, which is apparently a specialty. Also the sizzling catfish was really good. I rarely leave negative reviews but this one definitely needed to be addressed: We returned here with a family of 6 because we liked the fish rolls and it had good review on Yelp. But this time we were completely disappointed in the food, the service and in the response from the waitress to the person at the register. I get that they got busy but there were plenty of staff. 1) they forgot our drink and never cared to ask if anything was right... I told the person at the register and he said: " Oh sorry I can charge it to you and you can take it home if you want! " No kidding.... 2) the food "Bun Rieu OC" is supposed to have a patty mixture of grounded meat, shrimp and crab. (Rieu cua) They ran out of all of the above so they just substituted it with egg trying to give the same texture! When I asked about it the server told me it was all grounded meat, shrimp and crab. It tasted nothing like. Even at the look at it you could it was just egg! Ewwww. Then when time for paying at the register I confronted the man at the register and at first he said the same thing like the waitress but then he said: "Oh someone said the same thing this morning and he had told the cook about it." He told her about it yet they kept it on the menu. He said that he had tried it too and he said: he asked today it taste more like egg than anything! He did apologize though. They should take it off the menu if the main ingredient is not there or even not delivering! (picture attached) Anyways we will not return to this place. Bahn Xao (Vietnamese Pancake with Shrimp, Pork & Bean Sprouts), Pho (forgot which ones) and Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio (BBQ Pork & egg roll with thin noodle) . I probably tried a bite or two of other dishes but I cannot remember what they were. I liked the food here so far and the price is very affordable. Just came right now and even though I understand the workers were hungry but DAMN literally every single one of them were having lunch as picture shown below. My bf and I had to wave them like multiple times for one item, first call was refill on water than last was we asked for more vegetables for our spring rolls, than I heard the girl (sky blue shirt with white vest) said "troi oi ky vi nua" meaning (omg...what now) in Vietnamese, so rude. First of all what kind of restaurant have ALL their employees eating at once, I do get maybe they are all hungry and it's probably "on the house" for their hot pot, cause it's "super bowl" but couldn't you guys at least have three employee eat first and three employees eat after? My goodness..my boyfriend was so annoyed he left a very small tip. Good customer service deserves good tip and apparently this wasn't good. The cashier ruined a good customer with her rude comment. I rather go to the one inside Grand Century mall. Update: We wrapped a few rolls togo because we had many left overs, going home eating a roll two hours later we found a piece of wrap thingy in our fish roll! The boy and I got a tip to go here from one of his local friends who grew up coming out here- and it did not disappoint. I'm not sure what the "star" dish is considered here, but I'd say you have to come out and do your own rice paper rolls! I saw from Yelp pictures that you can get half fish and half beef, which is what we opted for. The beef had way more seasoning than the fish, but the fish was pretty good too- For the dish, they'll bring out a platter of vermicelli noodles, cucumbers, mint, basil etc along with rice paper for rolling and a steaming platter with your protein on it. Then the fun begins as you can make your own rice paper rolls! It's super fun and entertaining :) The price is on point, too- the dish is large enough for 2 to split (or 3 if you aren't that hungry) and is $25. Eat up! read more

My brother's favorite for fish (bun cha ca la vong). We bring friends here so we can try other items they make and share. Bo luc lac (shaking beef) is tasty. Pho ap chao bo (crispy pho noodle with beef and vegetables) is yummy. Banh xeo (crunchy crepe with pork and shrimp) is nice especially with the lettuce and mint. My friend told me that Thien Long was the choice restaurant for their grilled fish and you can instantly tell by looking around at the other tables. Granted the dish is meant for 2 people, we were able to feed three w/ the addition of an appetizer (Speaking of which you should get the "fried flour cake w/ egg"). Unfortunately, I wasn't able to figure out what fish it was but it was definitely on the lighter side with soft flaky meat (maybe cod?), but oh well! Service is okay at best, they forgot to bring us our water even thought we asked a few times. Nothing too big because I guess my standards are lower....?
