Cha Gio Re - Fried Netted Egg Roll
    Crystal L.

Decided to switch up our Vietnamese restaurant rotation. The netted egg rolls were what motivated this dine in. Very crispy egg rolls, but little filling. Felt as if I were eating just the shell. If they added more meat it would've been perfect. Got the beef rib pho. 3 ribs, generous with a clean and smooth broth. The bowl was huge and the broth stayed piping hot the whole stay. Shaken beef was tasty and so were the fish sauce wings. Nice quick service.

I ordered a Pho with rare and flank. I arrived around 1pm, there was no line to get a table and more than enough seats outside. The pho broth was good but the meat quality wasn't good :( The meat was dry, overcooked and crumbly. They did play really good kpop music and was quiet enough to have a conversation. Lots of green onion in the broth and just enough noodles. There is a 4% discount if you pay in cash!

Love me some pho that have outside, dog friendly patio access. The menu is quite vast with many different pho, rice, bun options including fresh noodles. Service was very friendly and they have a happy hour 20% off discount (3-5:30pm weekdays) for all pho, bun and rice dishes. Restaurant is nicely decorated and there is a large dog friendly patio. Free parking as part of strip mall. We order both pho and rice dishes - the portions were very generous, the dishes came beautifully laid out and flavors were pretty good. I still prefer OG Pho Hanoi on soup and meat quality but this is a good option for good value also.

A solid 3.5 star but bumping to 4 because of their attentive service and a clean vibrant environment. I was pleasantly surprised that they serve broken white rice as many restaurants pulled away from their menus. The beef rib pho was 3/5. The broth could use a little bit more work (perhaps less diluted and more time simmering). The grilled pork chop rice plate looked great from a presentation standpoint but the chops were toooo thinnly sliced, making them a bit dried and tough to chew. Otherwise, the flavors were spot on. If they have to cut cost, I personally would prefer a thicker cut, more juicy chop with one less slice.

I saw this place because I saw some food bloggers on social media recommend this place in addition to living near the area. I didn't know what to get so I got two items and assume I'd come back next time to try the other items. I loved the food and service by the way.

The netted spring rolls was on point! Absolutely delicious flavor and texture, sauce was flavorful and paired very well. Lobster with xo sauce was savory and the com tam pork was great too. Pho was decent, but didn't stand out compared to the other foods.

Late night at Pho This Way and it was still packed -- good sign. The pho had really good flavor in the broth, and the noodles were fresh flat rice noodles, not the mushy pre-packaged kind. Also got the broken rice dish and the portion was huge, really well done. Great late night spot. 5 stars, will be back.

Pho on top and shaking beef with garlic noodles on bottom

VERY happy! I know there are so many options around here that we've had before, but on this day we decided to try Pho This Way where we were able to be seated immediately for a Saturday lunch. It smells delicious as soon as you walk in and even better tasting. I originally wanted pho but I decided to get the shaking beef with garlic noodles and it was a huge portion size and very flavorful. I'm also glad they used good quality beef. I also tried my husband's pho and their broth is exactly how I like my pho broth to be. Personally, I'm no pho connoisseur but I think this one might be the better pho options around here lol.

Great tasting food. Pretty much what you would get in most Vietnamese places. Lots of choices from traditional pho to seafood choices. Very nice service. The place is nice and clean and has lots of tables for small or big parties. Great place. Serving is very big.

It was pretty good. Service kind of slow but overall the food was delicious. The fried chicken plate was smothered in garlic sauce. The papaya salad was super crunchy. The bowl of pho was steamy hot with a ton of onions. I would come back here again.

Order the Shaking Beef Garlic Noodles! Best Garlic Noodles I've had! I've been craving it since the last time I was in the area. Love the tender beef and flavorful noodles! Don't skip on the sauce! Dip the noodles or pour it over! Delicious! I'll be back!

I am not sure when, but this place quickly became one of my favorite spots in Vietnam town. I've tried several items on their menu, like the Salt Roasted Squid, Fried Chicken Cartilage with Fish Sauce, Fried Rice, Pho, and Bun Bo Hue, but my absolute favorite is the Fried Chicken Rice Plate with Fish Sauce. The others are good, but this rice plate is on another level. Definitely very flavorful and delicious. It's heavy on the fish sauce, so if you're not used to Vietnamese fish sauce, it might be a bit strong/quite overpowering for your palate. If I had one tiny thing: the prices are a bit on the higher side compared to some other pho places in the area. But given the quality and the experience, I still think it's worth it. Additionally, the service here is great. Nice and friendly group of people. It's a family-run place, so it has a really homey, comfortable vibe. They're not fancy or over the top, but they make sure you have what you need. Overall, I definitely recommend this place! If you want an authentic Vietnamese spot, but not feeling the fish sauce, there are always lots of other items on the menu to choose from that are also very good.

There are other places I can go as backups, but when I want the complete bánh cuốn meal, this is the place to go. Food (5 stars) + The Đặc Biệt is still the #1 order here. It's a huge plate and you get a little bit of everything: the plain rice rolls with shrimp sprinkled on top, bánh cuốn stuffed with meat, pork roll, egg roll, and their crispy fried shrimp cake. Everything complements each other perfectly. + The rice rolls are soft and fresh, and I especially like the ones stuffed with meat. Pour their sweet and savory fish sauce all over it and add some of the red chili peppers if you want some heat. Excellent! + Their fried items are also what separates this place from some of the others. The egg roll is crispy and the fried shrimp cake actually has a nice big shrimp on there. Even the slightly steamed bean sprouts and herbs work perfectly with everything else on the plate. + This time I ordered the smaller plate with just the meat-filled bánh cuốn instead of the Đặc Biệt. It's around $15 and is actually the perfect amount for me where I'm full but not overly stuffed. However, for only a couple bucks more, I'd still recommend the Đặc Biệt. You just get so much more food! Service/Ambiance (3.5-4 stars) + Service is pretty standard for a Vietnamese restaurant. They're not constantly coming around to refill your water, but if you raise your hand or flag someone down, they'll come over and help you. Nobody is looking the other way pretending they didn't see you! + The restaurant itself is pretty small inside, but they have a much larger outdoor seating area. We came during lunch and didn't have to wait long. + I brought my dog Marley so we sat outside. It was a warm day but there was enough airflow that it was actually pretty comfortable. - One strange thing I've noticed during my last two visits: the water has a slight soapy taste. Maybe that's proof they do an excellent job washing their cups, but they could probably use an extra rinse! This time I just brought my own water. 4 years after my original 5-star review, nothing has really changed for me. I've had plenty of bánh cuốn around the Bay Area and this is still the place I compare everyone else to. The service and ambiance might only be around 3.5-4 stars, but I'm not coming here for fancy service. I'm coming for bánh cuốn, and the food is still 5 stars!

We've probably eaten here 50+ times with family and friends, and one thing I can say is that they are 100% consistent. We've never had a bad meal here. There's a great variety of Vietnamese dishes, so everyone can usually find something they like. The chả cá (fish) is one of their popular dishes and a favorite. They also have good chicken phở, broken rice, vermicelli noodles, spring rolls, roll-your-own options, and plenty of soups beyond phở. You can order individual dishes or share family-style, which makes it especially easy when coming with a group. It's very casual, family-friendly, quick, and straightforward--nothing fancy and probably not where I'd choose for a date night. But for a dependable meal with family or friends, it's a great spot. Kids like it, parents like it, and my mom likes it--which says a lot coming from an older Vietnamese person who knows her Vietnamese food! The staff is always efficient and nice, and after all these years, the food remains consistently good. The biggest downside is parking. The entire shopping center has become so busy with restaurants that finding a spot can be overwhelming, especially during peak hours. Also, keep in mind they do not take credit cards. Bring cash, or you can pay electronically through options such as Zelle/Venmo. Overall, this is one of those longtime neighborhood restaurants we keep coming back to because we know exactly what we're going to get: good Vietnamese food, plenty of choices, friendly service, and consistency.

I noticed cobwebs that appeared to have been hanging in place for a long time, along with dirt and grime collecting in corners throughout the dining room. Even the menus felt sticky, with a visible film of grease and small food particles still clinging to them. The faded print and worn condition made them look as though they hadn't been replaced in years. Those details created an impression of neglect that made it difficult to relax and enjoy the meal. With a thorough deep cleaning and some updated menus, this restaurant could create a much more welcoming dining experience.
