Note to self and others: When visiting the downtown areas of Manhattan for any coffee drinks/pastry treats, come before 5pm. This coffee shop was not on my radar but I'm happy I stopped by. I wanted to visit two different places while on my trip downtown, and one was out of the pastry I came for and was closing. The other one. The yelp app gave me the wrong time of closing and they were already closed when I got there. Spring break is approaching soon so I will do my revisiting during the early hours of the day. Now about Think Coffee lol, I happen to see this sign about the best chocolate chip cookie, and I thought I would definitely like to try it. Unfortunately they also were going to be closing soon, and all the cookies have sold out for the day. Bummer! I was ok though because on their menu they had a special drink called the Strawberry Mocha. I decided on that one with oat milk and boy was it good. It tasted if they had purified some strawberries and blended it with some chocolate. I really wished I had ordered a larger size. The guy who helped me and the one who made my drink both were really nice. I also took with me a banana bread muffin along with a chai one. I would definitely make a return here, just because it was giving true coffee house vibes. The space was plenty to stay and enjoy your cup of Joe, by yourself or with others. There are so many coffee and tea shops in this neighborhood. Unfortunately on a nice first Saturday of spring in NYC, the line for each of them is half an hour long. Fortunately, Think Coffee offered us an alternative for caffeination without a wait time. I got a hot matcha latte with almond milk (I was very tempted to grab a latte, but it was afternoon). The barista was working solo and she handled the orders very well. It didn't take too long to receive my beverage, complete with a beautiful rosette latte art that I ruined in 5 seconds. I don't have such discerning taste for matcha, but the drink tasted great. It was earthy and slightly sweet without being overly sweet like there's been a lot of sugar or artificial sweeteners added. read more

The drinks at Think Coffee on Bowery are solid...no complaints there. But the customer service left a lot to be desired. The woman working when I went in had a noticeably unpleasant attitude. We asked a simple question about food and just got a flat, "kitchen closed" with no effort to be helpful or friendly. It really threw off the vibe. Good coffee, Good lemonade but the experience could definitely be better with some more welcoming staff. Maybe she was annoyed she had to work memorial Monday. The start are very nice, and the ambiance changes on a day to day basis; it can be very chill at times or full of people talking and having a good time. I enjoy this type of variable atmosphere! the coffee is really ok. Like, perfectly mediocre. Not terrible, not amazing, but simply serviceable. This is a great utilitarian coffee shop. One thing that is quite good tho is the cold brew. It doesn't have that burnt aftertaste so many "fast" coffee cold brews have. For the cold brew alone i would give it a 4 star. read more

A single shot Cortado with a chunky chocolate chip chip cookie. My afternoon snack. I said that I couldn't have two espresso shots or else I wouldn't be able to sleep for two days. It was accepted. Why can't one have a single shot? Perhaps in the morning when some people need to become alert it is understandable. I am not used to too much espresso although I am partial to espresso cookies. This location of Think Coffee is on Bleeker Street and looks quite alright from the outside. Inside it is dim and dark. With the sun shining in everything continues to look murky. How about the restroom? The walls were black covered in graffiti. One can stay there for quite some time trying to decipher what is written. I couldn't wait to leave. Think Coffee Bowery is the coolest one I've been to thus far. It just blends in with the neighborhood. You would never know it's a chain coffee shop. I've never had a problem with customer service. I enjoy the breakfast pastries and really enjoy their drip coffee. I'm never sure where the coffee is grown, but so far the price is right and it tastes fine. I figure I'm getting a buzz and giving a donation. That's what matters to me these days! I'm recommending you enjoy this location at the corner of Bowery and Bleecker. Think Coffee Bowery has great coffee and amazing customer service, arguably the best I've experienced in NYC. As a customer, I felt valued and appreciated. Their iced oat lattes are delicious and reasonably priced in comparison to comparable cafés in the City. Their baked goods, especially the oatmeal raisin cookie is tasty. There are times when you need a place to rest and get something to drink (and perhaps a snack) in downtown Manhattan. Sure you could hop into a Starbucks (though there are less left than there used to be) but then you will likely have to deal with the tourist hordes and bathrooms that look like a crime scene out of "Law & Order". If you want to up your cafe game in the are around the Bowery then Think Coffee is the place for you. First off, the location is perfect. It is on the corner of Bleecker and the Bowery so it is easy to find and you have two directions worth of people watching. Historical note: the former sight of CBGB's is right across the street (this will possibly depress you, make you nostalgic or both). There is a ton of seating inside that can easily fit over a dozen people comfortably without everyone squishing together like hamsters in a cage. There is a large area for ordering and there is even a clean rest room! In a particularly nice touch, a doorway next to the rest room leads to a small bookstore next door. The staff here ranges from extremely super duper nice to "Hey man, just order so I can continue my day, ok?" which is about right for a NYC coffee place. The crowd waxes and wanes here. There are times where it is virtually standing room only and there are times when it is half empty. It is a tad unpredictable. I have had two drinks here: the Chai Latte (dirty) and the Mint Iced Tea. Both drink swere refreshing though the Chai is much heavier. I also have to recommend the Honey Peanut Butter Cookie. This thing is insane. It's huge, chewy and has a very unique sweetness without being overwhelming. I have also had the grilled cheese here with cheddar and tomato and it was very tasty. They make the sandwich fresh so you will have to wait a bit. Think Coffee has quickly become one of my "go to" establishments in the area. Coffee here is very good - and I like the options for the non dairy milk. The seating was comfortable, and the food selection for a coffee shop was nice. They offer a lunch option for grilled cheese (vegan cheese available and gluten free options available as well). You are able to add pesto, olive spread, etc. for an extra charge (about $0.75-$4) Cons: I wasn't able to find a place to charge my tablets during my visit. I suppose if they had the outlets people would sit there all day. It still is nice to be able to have a laptop and work while you have your beverage/food and not take advantage of the time - and share space with others. read more

I just wanted think coffee and this location's manager know what an EXTREMELY RUDE, disgusting barista experience I had today at your location! Today around 3 PM I was happily & patiently waiting for my coffee to be made. There was a gentleman behind the counter who was just standing there and not doing anything and I said I ordered a spinach cheddar muffin. He proceeded to bag it and hand it to me, no problem. Then while I was waiting I asked if I could get a glass of ice water since the girl at the register seemed a bit overwhelmed and he was just standing there. He did that and then I asked for a bag with handles because I had quite a few things to carry with me, to which he responded I'm not even on the clock!? I was kind of puzzled and thinking why is he telling ME this? To which I responded I don't work here so I don't really know what's going on. He just stood there and wouldn't get the bag. I was thinking if you're not on the clock why are you standing back there looking like you're working when you're telling me you're not!? I'm not a mind reader. He just handed me a muffin in a bag and handed me a glass of ice water so I'm assuming you're working. What else would anybody think in the situation? To empathize with his plight, I said you seem really pissed. He just looked at me and rolled his eyes!? I said that was very unkind and impolite, rolling your eyes at me? I have no idea what this guy's problem was but it had absolutely nothing to do with me but he was plenty ready to lash out at me for no apparent reason!? And some other douche bag customer started getting involved. Luckily by that time my coffee was ready, so I just grabbed everything and left!? The whole experience left a very bad taste in my mouth. He was so rude, offensive and disgusting. If you're not on the clock then maybe you shouldn't be behind the counter acting as though you're working, dumbass! When he told me that I feel like saying not my problem dude! Like why the F#CK are you telling me you're not supposed to be on the clock!? I'm not your boss and there's not anything I can do about it! Passive aggressive bullsh*t! GTFO! Is this how you treat your customers? Is this how you train your staff to treat customers who come into your store paying for a product and and an expectation of reasonable & respectful customer service?! Shame on you and shame on this young man! If you're going to be in the Customer service business you better get your sh*t together and learn how to deal with people, even if you're not in a good mood. I was trying to be empathetic with him. Came in here for a quick breakfast and to do some work. To my surprise (and sadness) there is no wifi or outlets here. While it was a bummer I am really not going to hold it against Think Coffee if they want to foster a café environment where people actually chat and/or read. I did not enjoy my visit here during the past summer. I ordered a small coffee with a pastry and felt as though it was a waste of time and money. You're given black coffee and it's up to you to essentially make your coffee on your own. This takes away from the whole idea of even going to a coffee shop. Aside from this, the space is very congested. There's barely any room to walk over to your area of choice without knocking into a table or chair. Think Coffee is a great place to sip your coffee and people watch. We came here while waiting for a reservation at Sushi on Jones. The cortado (expresso cut with hot milk) was excellent. It was creamy, thick and had excellent expresso in it. K enjoyed his latte as well. The tables are small and so is the area but people were turning over the tables quickly. The staff is friendly, the space is bright and inviting. And there is a restroom here. read more

Looks like a dump but I think that's on purpose. It's not dirty or anything like that.
