I like Think Coffee. They have a handul of locations throught Manhattan. As other reviewers have stated, the pastries are overpriced, but they are good. I usually get the plain coffee, which is great here. I sometimes order a Hummus Wrap or Mozzarella and Tomato. They're pretty good. The inside seating area is very charming and nice. There's also outdoor seating available right on the Bowery. Open pretty late into the evening, until eleven, and Fri and Sat until midnight. In my opinion, a good alternative to Starbucks. read more

A very average coffee shop, with big time bad service. We came in to order a couple coffees and was met with zero acknowledgement, even though there were no other customers waiting to order. When we finally chirped up to order, we were met with snark. I made the mistake of asking what a "red eye" was and the barista rolled his eyes at me for not knowing. Obviously EVERYONE should know that a red eye is a cup of coffee with a shot of espresso! At this point, we must have really annoyed the barista for being in his presence, since we forgot to tell him what size we wanted for our respective drinks, which was met with more snark. I was attracted to this coffee shop because it has an outdoor space with tables overlooking the street! Had their ice coffee and its delish, only to ask and find out they get it from Porto Rico Coffee!! The ice coffee is small though. I believe 10 oz for almost 3 bucks, but worth it. Terrible Service. Poor order taking and frustrating system for delivering orders. They don't take a name or give an order number so the counter just calls out "bagel and cream cheese" which matches many people's order causing confusion. Not only do I love the coffee, but their baked goods are simply the best I had in NYC. I loved a good muffin and get very disappointed with all the muffins I tried in NYC. My favorite muffin I had closed years ago, and I have been searching for a decent one ever sense. Finally I think the search is over, these muffins are one of the better ones I have tried. I like the light crumb topping. Their scones and almond croissants are quite good as well. But its all about the coffee here of course, and I think they did a great job. Stopped by at this location on Saturday morning. Ordered my husbands coffee which is a tall in a grande cup. Was told by the barista that I would be charged for the grande size anyways because I will be adding the extra milk and needed to be charged for it. Wanted to let you know what that .25 cost your business. I was going to order a latte, a pasty, and get a pound of coffee to share back home. There is no wifi because the place is "too small" according to a staff member despite there being about 50+ seats including the outdoor area and they have no plugs for power. They blast the AC and the employees are "not allowed to adjust it". After realizing all these points it started pouring with rain leaving me trapped in a freezing cold coffee shop and unable to do any work! Coffee was watery and bitter with very little body. The clerk was somewhat aloof as I ordered coffee and a glass of water and she brought the coffee directly but made no mention of the water (which was on the table behind me). The shop reminds me of GroundWork coffee in Hollywood (though there coffee is much better), which is to say it is sort of laid out like a Peet's copycat. Great coffee. Great Atmosphere. One of the best places I've been to in NYC.

The staff is always really friendly. The gluten free grill cheese is awesome. Be prepared to wait about 10 minutes for it to be ready, though they are pretty clear with you about that when you order. Really good tea too. read more

I give this rating for the coffee only. I would probably give the pastries 1 or two stars... not so great and really over priced... though the oat bar is AMAZING- it''s waaaay too expensive. If you are looking for a delitful little sweet pick me up- I very highly recommend the spanish latte- I have taken several of my friends here just for that when they have come to visit and when they go back home they spend several weeks trying to find a place that is even a tiny bit similar. I love their cappuccinos- that is my drink of choice because im not so into the sweet drinks on a regular basis, but I will treat myself to a spanish latte when i have done something that deserves a reward. read more

I first discovered Think Coffee at their Mercer location, but I started coming to this one more because I find I'm more productive when I want to get some work done and enjoy a great cup of coffee. The noise level is usually a little lower and there is often more available seating. It's smaller and a little more low-key and the outdoor seating is great. read more

We spend a pretty penny here each year because we live around the corner, and I can't imagine my life without Think Coffee Bowery because it's so convenient for us--so that alone means that I should start off with 3 stars. But I can't give the place five stars either. First, they're often condescending if you order anything decaf. Which annoys me. Please accept different people with different constitutions; not everyone has to be the same to be cool! Second, the seating is not comfortable. My body starts aching after a while when I sit there with a coffee trying to read a book. It feels forced and I always end up just going home. I really appreciate their early hours of operation, and I won't stop going there because in the early mornings, it's the only place open. The coffee is pretty good, I wish the prices were a little more moderate but I do like that prices include tax, and I really appreciate the environmentally-friendly cups and lids. Now if only the staff could be a little more cheerful and friendly instead of being so cool. read more

I live right near this place so I want to love it. The coffee is very strong which is great; be warned if you don't like strong coffee then this place is not for you. Their mocha and chai lattes are good as well. They also serve wine which is pretty cool. However, I just can't find myself loving this place. I go here out of convenience on the way to work but if I have the time I find myself walking a few blocks over to The Bean. I do like this place better than starbucks though. This place is a great Think installment because I can almost always grab a seat... which is not the case with other Think locations.There is also a paid wifi connection (decently priced, like $2 bucks for 1h) which I suspect serves the entire neighborhood and not the coffee shop specifically. read more
